My brother has a lease there that says he can use the amenities, but since Coastal Carolina decided to lease the apartments and he is not a coastal student he is all the sudden not allowed to use the pool/workout room. Absolutely ridiculous! That is why he chose these apartments in the first place👎👎
I DO NOT recommend living here for many reasons. I leased at the Wren for only a year and was highly unsatisfied. The pictures online are very deceiving and I recommend you tour the townhouse beforehand to know if it’s suitable for you. At the beginning of my lease, management came in one time WITHOUT my permission and gave no notice. Next, I repeatedly asked management to spray for spiders because I got bit by a brown wreck loose spider and had to be sent to the hospital. Nothing was done about it and I put in more than one request to get my house sprayed by professionals. Putting in maintenance request is a hassle, and you will not get help for at least a week. When my lease was up I repainted the entire downstairs and my room but they STILL kept my whole security deposit when there was zero damage to the walls, all they could complain about was dust and that was enough to keep all of the deposit. You can tell management really doesn't care about you and quick to give fines on top of your rent. Save yourself and your money from living at the Wren Coastal.
I don't live here ... I missed my turn, and tried to turn around in this parking lot. Big mistake. It's the usual fubar parking system you see in college-housing, but many times worse... the worst I've ever seen. What.A.Mess. I guess the left side is... serviceable; the right side... there's hardly anywhere to maneuver. I think living here would drive me nuts if I were a student.
There are definitely better places for students to stay at in the area, ESPECIALLY for the price considering that there are no amenities like a gym/pool/study area/clubhouse. Not to mention moving out is a nightmare. God forbid you don’t leave the place in perfect condition (and I mean PERFECT), they will charge you hundreds in move-out fees with no remorse. They’ll find any and everything to charge you for so don’t waste your time trying to clean everything like we did because you’ll still be charged regardless. The only pro is it’s a safe, gated community and a peaceful/quiet area. But again, not worth the price compared to other places and doesn’t really feel like a community at all.

The best apartment complex ever at CCU!! The environment is very welcoming, the staff helps you out immediately with any problems and are amazing people, and which student wouln’t want to study next to the pool and roast marshmellows at the fireplace at night? Amazing apartment complex 10/10
I’m so sick of this place. I’ve been here two years. It’s been by far the worst place I have ever stayed. Maintenance does not work on the weekends. Nothing ever works. They advertise false information. The dumpsters stay closed on the weekend. The halls are always a mess. No one ever helps with anything, not even picking up the phone. The only thing they worry about is getting your money for rent and utilities, after that they don’t care how you live in there. I’m sorry, I’ve had my share and this is not acceptable. Good luck to the students that come this fall.
Emergency Maintenance never answers the phone and the cove is now closed on weekends. Had to sleep in my car one night. Don’t advertise emergency maintenance if no one answers the phone for two days

My experience was the worst. The roommates I had were so dirty, racist and so loud but the management never responds to your problems. If you have an apartment that’s under somebody else be prepared to hear alot of stomping and no sleeping at night because it will wake you up. The hallways are always piled up with trash because the trash people hardly ever come. Just know if you go to college don’t move here alone. Make sure you have people around you that you know so you can be comfortable. This place is the worst
I had a maintenance emergency in my apartment and where the floor above us toilet overflowed / leaked at some point during the night. I woke up to my entire room flooded, my apartment kitchen flooded, and my roommates bathroom flooded. I called emergency maintenance and was answered by a very grumpy, and annoyed staff member by the name of morgan. She did advise me that maintenance was on the way however when I asked if someone would clean the water up in the entire apartment she said no. I then asked if she could offer any supplies to clean up for their leak and was told that the main office has mops to be used. I let her know that I work until 9:00 p.m. today and that I am not able to pick the mom up. She's scoffed at me said no we're not doing that you can clean it yourself and have a roommate pick up the mops . I do not appreciate cleaning up after someone else's mess especially toilet water. Especially when I have to use my own towels to clean up toilet water from the coves faulty equipment. I'm not going to be able to clean my room throughout the day and now I am at risk of water damage in my room that I'm sure the cove will charge me for the damages. The staff here is unsympathetic, rude, unprofessional, slow with service and lacking in customer service.
I graduated from CCU in Spring 2022.

Pros:
- Location: It is close to CCU and near a CCU shuttle stop. I have taken the shuttle a lot to save $ on gas. It's also near a 24-hour gas station/convenience store and some restaurants within walking distance.
- Staff: Much of the staff are students, and they are super nice.
- Package Pickup: The hours to pick up your packages are more reasonable than other communities around CCU.

Cons:
- Maintenance: Maintenance supposedly comes to your apartments to check on various appliances, but I have never known if they had actually come to my apartment because they do not leave any notes that they had been there.
- Design of Doors: The bedroom and bathroom doors swing into each other. Not a huge drawback but it is very annoying (photo attached for this one). Our building also seems to be built on a tilt, or something, because the doors swing on their own and sometimes, they lock themselves up.
- Bad Ventilation/Smoke Alarms: The smoke alarms are very sensitive and were purposely made to be, but the ventilation in these apartments is awful. Also, there is a lot of mildew that occurs in this apartment (photo attached) and the community manager said it's because of the climate in SC, but I’ve never had that issue in University Housing or at my house in Myrtle Beach.
- Printing Services: Printing used to be unlimited and free, but now they have a new system which is actually more expensive than printing at the University. You can get ten pages free a month, but for a college student, that's basically nothing.
- Pets: There are a lot of dogs here. I love dogs, but I do not love owners that let their dogs run around without a leash and poop everywhere without picking it up. The staff seem to make exceptions for favorite residents, as I’ve seen staff watch residents break rules in front of them and not say anything. There have been dogs in the pool, also. There are a lot of irresponsible owners that do not know how to take care of their animals, and it’s sad to see The Cove be complicit about it.
- Communication: They send out emails for office closures, but these emails typically go out a day before the office is closed, and they go out AFTER the office has closed for the day. So, basically, no notice. Also, I have emailed and called the office about multiple different concerns and have not heard back.
Great Living Experience for my son's Senior Year at Coastal! Beautiful living quarters in a Gated community with great support for any issues or concerns! I would definitely recommend to Coastal students!
Don’t stay here. The parking is trash. My car has been towed TWICE, after having a parking pass. I should be allowed to visit my friends without going through a hassle. Instead of refunding me my money, they offered him rent reduction. How does that benefit me? Wanna save money? Stay on campus because that’s all the Cove is, an overpriced dorm room. WOULD NOT recommend for people over 21yr of age.
Overall the Cove is good. The community is fine. The amenities are fine, when they are working (see: pool down for days, 1 of 4 treadmills working for over a year). The apartment themselves are fine. They do a decent job cleaning when people move in. The staff, both in the office and the maintenance staff, are incredible people.
This is the first online review I have ever written in my life, that’s how bad this place is. I am a student at CCU, and I used to live on Campus at University Place. That being said, campus housing is better than this apartment complex. Half of the staff can never answer any of my questions and have no idea what is happening, and the other half is rude, unprofessional and should probably never deal with the public. The only time they will help you is when it comes time to renew your lease. Any other time they don’t care and try and avoid helping you. The parking lot is overcrowded, poorly lit, and full of people making their own spots that block other cars in. Since I’ve lived here my car has been broken into twice and had someone try to fight my friend and I in the parking lot over these parking issues. One time I put in a service request for them to remove the black mold I had growing on my walls and windows and they just told me to do it myself, despite the fact I am allergic to black mold and had already become sick from being that close to it already. I then ended up spending 5 hours scrubbing my walls with a toothbrush and bleach. I keep paying all this rent every month, yet none of it gets put back into the complex. They’re also very quick to charge you with any and everything, and I have acquired several late fees on my rent and utilities because the payment portals weren’t working. To sum it up, The Cove at CCU does not care about anything but money, and will even sacrifice the health and safety of their tenants for a couple extra bucks.

It is overall pretty okay. The pool is super nice. They are focusing more on revamping the complex than cleaning the hallways and staircases. Maintenance comes super quickly to fix anything. They have lots of days where they offer food whether it be pizza, breakfast, or sandwiches. The staff is pretty friendly. The gym is not open 24 hrs yet which is a little disappointing since it is only available during office hrs which is from 10-6, making it hard to get to the gym with my schedule.

Allison and Tia went above and beyond when I first moved in in February. Management was very friendly and maintenance was always helpful. I love my complex and roommates

I recently moved from Illinois to attend school here and the adjustment has been great! The staff are super friendly, they have a pet-friendly environment, spacious apartments, and a huge pool! The gym is great for when you want to workout close to home. The property has been remodeled and looks better than ever! I love living here and can’t wait to renew for another year!

For the price this is a good place to live. Maintenance requests are completed quickly and the staff is really friendly. The garbage upkeep and cleaning of the buildings could definitely be better but that's due to some residents not cleaning up after themselves. Wish neighbors were better about cleaning up after their dogs and themselves.

Everything is pretty great except the roommate matching. I don’t think they go by the survey you have to complete for preferences in roommates. Try having someone in mind before leasing. It’s also 400 dollars to change rooms/roommates. Wish they had some sort of chat room for all the pending tenants and could choose their own Roommates. Chances are you won’t like who they place you with.
I have lived at the Wren for almost a year, and I will be signing again! Very nice and gated community, with security cameras outside. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom, and 2/4 bedrooms have private balconies! Downstairs is very spacious and on a separate floor from bedrooms (which is nice for noise when studying) — with a half bath in the living room for visitors! The Wren is also pet friendly and remains clean in the yard space! I would recommend The Wren to any student looking for a safe, clean, spacious and quiet environment to live in while at CCU!
I have been living in the Wren for one year and it’s been an amazing experience for me. It’s walking distance from campus and HTC gym which is very convenient. During the spring season we have a little store with vegetables and fruits. Plus the apartment is nicely furnished and modern. If you prefer quite place Wren is the best place for you.
I love the Wren! I am an international student and the Wren has been my home for almost 2 years. It is a very quiet and safe place to live. It is a gated small complex with cameras and I feel very safe here. The location is super convenient because it is located only few minutes walking from the campus, and HTC gym is right across the street. The 4 bedroom apartment is big and new, you have the whole unit to yourself so nobody can disturb. I also love that some of the rooms have a balcony and the rooms are separated from the living room area. I would recommend to live here especially when you are a college student that likes quiet and friendly environment.
We recently took a tour of these luxury townhomes for my son who will be transferring to Coastal Carolina University. The staff was very friendly and beyond helpful. The units are all clean and newly constructed. They really made it a beautiful living space for the students The location couldn’t be any more convenient for a student living off campus!
I cannot say enough good things about The Wren. I moved in last minute, after being screwed over by Coastal Club. They were so accommodating and friendly from the second I walked into the leasing office. The town homes are beautiful, clean, safe, and walking distance to campus. Any issues I have had, which were very minor, have been fixed very quickly. I would recommend The Wren to anyone!

I would give zero stars, but unfortunately I have to give one. I took a sublease here for the months of June and July and it was the most filthy, disgusting, terrible place one could possibly live in. To start, the trash by every door on the property is always overflowing and it is constantly blowing around the parking lot. Bugs, giant bees, and flies are also always swarming outside and in the building. The hallways smell like weed and good knows what else and the stairwells have holes punched through the walls and the railing has been ripped down and never fixed. The air conditioning system is piss poor and doesn't keep anything cooler than 80 no matter how low you set it. The suites themselves are mismatched eyesores and if you get stuck with horrible roommates then you are truly in for an experience. Plumbing does not work and nothing will drain down the tub or sink for ridiculous amounts of time. I had my bathtub break and called and was told that they would get to it before the end of the day for sure. Gets home and nothing was done. I call the office again and I am told they will not be able to do anything until three days later on the following monday. Three days with about a half a foot of standing water in my tub so I can't even shower??? I had to call the emergency line just to get someone to help. Ridiculous. And then I get home and everything that was pulled out of my drain was LAYING ON THE FLOOR. They couldn't even put it in the trash can TWO FEET AWAY. The floors are gross in and outside the suites and there is always someone yelling or screaming in the parking lot. Office staff is of little to no help especially if you talk to anyone except a manager. The pool and pool building were always filthy and obviously never cleaned. The gym had dirt coating the floor and the office staff would leave at 4 when they were supposed to be open to 5 every time I tried to go in after work. The Provincial is an option for me to live full time after this coming year, but I will make sure every one of my friends know that they should run the other way before ever considering a lease at this drug den. Literally because I didn't walk through the doors once without immediately being choked by the smell of pot.
Every apartment has their ups and downs. I was there from 2015 -2018 and it was nice off campus student housing. Rent was affordable, the amenities were nice, wasnt far from campus at all, and the rooms were decent. Management varies, but the team there in 2016-2018 was awesome.
Absolutely the best Student housing in Conway! No other compares. The whole staff is amazing! Management is dedicated and experienced! Maintenance always handles my needs fast and efficient! The property is absolutely beautiful. And the amenities are perfect for all of my needs down to studying, working out and my long sunny pool days! Hands down the best! I love The Cove!
