Nice museum. It was smaller than I expected and it does not have many big and unique things to show off. But it explains the history of science very well and in an interesting way even for a 40-something year old person.
Such a magical museum! My seven-year-old was enthralled with the perfectly curated scavenger hunts. We can't wait to return!!

Can't say enough about this place! The current featured juried art show was incredible! As was of course the permanent display. A wide range of modern art and the museum even features some furniture original to the house and an outdoor sculpture garden. Definitely check this place out and give yourself enough time because Morris Arboretum is right next door. Both destinations participate in the PA ACCESS program which provide free or low cost tickets to those with an active EBT or Access card.
Wonderful grounds with nice porch to sit and eat lunch on. Many outdoor sculpture to see before even entering the museum. Well air conditioned. Many works of art to see , mostly modern post 1980s but also some older works . Includes paintings, mixed media, sculpture, furniture, clocks, jewelry, silver, and stained glass. Wonderful gift shop with reasonable prices and friendly staff.
It's the place that I could take my grandson for help and counseling. Great people there to work with.

This is a lovely little museum with so many fun knick knacks and so much interesting history there are also so many good lunch spots nearby decaffently recommend stopping by there's lots to read and lots of interactive things great for the whole family definitely recommend stopping by if you're hanging out in Old City!

I attended the Jazz-maica Bob Marley with a twist; it was tribute to some of Bob Marley’s set to jazz performed by The Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble. Their summer concert series is held on the front lawn, weather permitting. It was a mature crowd, bring blankets and or lawn chairs, snacks, bug spray and a good attitude and sit back and enjoy the music.
They lie to you. They won't protect you from your clinic jumping you. They just push the problem under the rug and tell you to go f yourself. Not 1 person there cares about the clients. Not one person even tries to help the clients. They only listen to the head people of the clinic your at and listen to there lies and take there lies as the truth. Kevin Howard never calls you back or does any of the supervisors. When you have a complaint they won't call you to ask what happened and always blame the clients. This place should be shut down. And each person in the quality control department needs to be under review to see if they even do work or deserve there job. CBH only protects the clinics not the clients at all. It's all about money so there basically best friends making sure each other stays in business and money keeps flowing.
They force you to go to place like Holcomb Behavioral Health (where the director tried to bully me into not complaining about the the psychiatrist would write me prescriptions for drugs I heard in Rap songs and had no idea what they did ) or the pill mill Omni (where the doctor was literally writing prescriptions for Adderall in the waiting room

Very well done art museum in the sense they utilized the space perfectly to maximize exhibition space, give you a modern art feel in some rooms, while also giving you tastes of this historic mansion and how it once looked in its time of occupancy. Great grounds and statues as well.

The museum is a few blocks away from the BSL, and the 2 and 3 buses. It is a must see for people who like things like fossils, interesting rocks, animal specimens, bones, etc. I enjoyed my visit, and will recommend visiting the museum to a few friends, including one that especially likes geology!
This was such a lovely find! We went for a special event on mushrooms on Saturday. They usually have special events the first Saturday of every month that are free and great for kids. The museum itself is not too large, but filled with many interesting specimens, minerals, taxidermies, etc. I loved it!
This is just a really neat museum with tons of specimens and skeletons. There’s no fee to enter but a suggested donation of $10-15 for adults and $5 for seniors/students. Seems like they have events that you could go to like their mushroom foraging event. It also seems like they had some activities for kids to do as well. I would say 45 minutes to an hour is enough time to experience it fully.

Relatively small but pretty impressive collection of various scientific devices, books, and other science-related historic artifacts. Very informative interactive desk on the first floor. Overall very well-organized display of the information. I’ve learnt a lot of new stuff about chemistry and physics, that’s for sure. If you get lucky, you might catch one of their guided tours around the museum where they tell you all about science and social activism and how they are interconnected.
Don't waste your time the therapist was so negative. Go anywhere else.
Although our number of choices for mental health providers is not sufficient for many communities; the providers who are scheduling appointments save lives on a daily basis. Lets remember to thank them for treating back to back patients all day and skipping lunch breaks to keep up with our needs.

I enjoyed the museum. There were many exhibits on analytical equipment on the first floor. The second floor highlighted many pioneers and innovators in science. I also enjoyed the Object Explorer which was a fun way to learn about the many artifacts on display. Finally, the Downstream exhibit was also very interesting, as well.
Imagine someone telling a person missing a leg that prosthetic makers are doing the right thing by refusing to take their money for a prosthetic due to the man being on medicaid.

How is he supposed to MAKE MONEY and financially better himself, if you keep that opportunity out of reach?

I received a timely response from the team and good info on proceeding with saving my drawings.
It can take 2-3 months for an intake appointment then another 30 days for the health center to "find the appropriate" therapist. What are we supposed to do for 4 months when we need to talk to someone?
CBH only has these health centers and clinics in their network that take months to get anything done. This system is trash. Get some real social workers and psychologists in the network---REAL PEOPLE!

The Wagner natural history museum is another Philly first, tucked away on the Temple U campus. For more than 160 years, it's offered free science education programs to adults and now for all ages. The museum preserves its 19th century layout.There are rows of glass-cased specimens with antique hand-lettered labels. Photography is prohibited, but sketching is encouraged. If you enjoy scavenger hunts, there are multiple lists by the exhibit entrance table. The auditorium features the original projector which they claim to still use for programs. Collection highlights for us included the horse skeleton, brontosaurus bone and the cases of beautifully-preserved animals, birds and shells. Museum admission is free (donations welcome) and it is close to public transportation.
This free museum near Independence Hall is a hidden gem for anyone who's curious about the history of science.Their exhibits make an effort to be inclusive, celebrating unsung research pioneers who were women and/or persons of color. Their first floor interactive game made learning about chemicals fun. Another highlight explores the highs and lows of protecting Philly's watershed through the centuries. The staff are friendly and there's a table full of hands-on activities for children.

There’s a 6 month wait for ABA services... CBH assigned my son my autistic non verbal son with two different agencies (I.N.T.E.R.A.CT & Laila’s Way) who did nothing but play phone tag with me. It should not take 6 months for any services when virtual/platforms like zoom exists. I made two complaints against the agencies and wanted my son removed from the list. Nobody asked for my son’s medical record of his diagnosis (Autism Spectrum Disorder) from our home state NJ. The services is poorly managed and the audacity of them to keep trying to persuade me of continue the service with the 2nd agency. What services if the they never started? CBH called me mid-January for the agency to reach out to me and they finally did 2 weeks later. As of late March,the services hasn’t started which is why I am not allowing my son to be delayed more after residing in Philadelphia for 1 year 1/2. I’m over this unprofessional, dysfunctional system. Covid should not be the reason for any special needs child to be delayed like this. This is what happens when parents of special needs child/ren go through. It’s ridiculous!

Called looking for a therapist as I’ve been dealing with a cancer dx. The young lady answered the phone laughing and then as I begin disclosing to her why I wanted to speak with a therapist there was more laughter in the background. Unbelievable! I’m used to working and having great health benefits. if CBH is all Medicaid has to offer I need a plan B
This place is okay, I've come to merakey for social services with my daughter. Did not really benefit with the "therapeutic visits". They don't really have much to do for children 10+ years. Its pretty small to my opinion.

CBH is the worst. I've been calling them since last year to get my son some help. When you call them they don't tell you much but that someone will call you back. Left messages for someone named Ebony. No return call. When I finally get an appt they give me the wrong appt so that means (single mother) takes off work

My daughter used to go to years ago when was called North Health Services, the staff was awesome and they always give us points to encourage me to push my daughter to do her best.

I had almost given up on getting better after getting treated by different facilities and seeing no results until one of my friend recommended Philadelphia Mental Health Center. I am blessed to find this place, I swear I was on the verge of suicide if I wouldn't have found this place. They gave me a reason to live. Thank you. God bless.
Very caring staff. The therapists over here are very friendly. Also, the environment is very peaceful for treatment.
A family member has been going to this mental health care center from a long time and they seem to be recovering.
The overall buisness is suppose to be supportive for children with Special needs, but the staff there is very unprofessional, prejudice, and under trained to handle preschool students with special needs. The bus service is very inconsistent with pickup times and late everyday. The last time my son was there they called me while I was at work stating I had to pick up my son early because of a runny nose. Stating that the nurse there said he had a "Virus" because it was green mucus coming out of his nose and he couldnt return unless he had a doctors note. I beleive this is a disgrace to the human race there should not be people working with children who can out right be bias to the needs of these children because they have the authority to do so. When I called my sons doctor to schedule the appointment the on call nurse said theres no way they could say or possibly determine that he had a virus because his mucus was green. I still took my son to the doctors and they were disgusted with the accusations, she suggested that I pull him out of the program because there is something misleading about it all.Therefore, my son will not be returning for P.A.C.T. preschool services there this was a very horrible experience...as parent and humiliating one too..Kayden James was cleared by his doctor and he does not have a virus...but he will no t be none of you guys object of ridicule..🖕all the staff there that make themselves feel good by picking on a 3 year older kid that needs more love and care than others..

A remarkable free and often overlooked museum which features a collection of natural science items (fossils, taxidermy items, skeltons) in a building which have both largely gone unchanged since the 1880s. Various events and educational offerings are held throughout the year to further the founders principals of providing free science education. The collections are only typically open during day hours throughout the week. Check hours ahead of time. The museum is not wheelchair accessible (due to the age of the facility) and there is no air conditioning. Consider parking at Temple and walking up Montgomery Ave.

My stepson goes there for therapy and I can honestly say he has never opened up to any therapist the way he has opened up to the ones that worked with him here. The staff is absolutely incredible and they work so well with my stepson, he finally was properly diagnosed and put on the proper medication he sees his therapist every week and once a month he sees his doctor put each and every person who works with him is amazing! I know people leave negative reviews about this place but he has been to so many other places and this is the only place that has been helpful and I refuse to send him anywhere else!
This wonderful little gem is just a few blocks from Temple… I wish my biology professors informed us that the specimens we were studying in lecture were housed just mere blocks away! Its collection delves into systematics, conchology, paleontology, comparative anatomy, and geology.

Recently partnering with university of the arts has breathed new life into the institution. The grand old building makes the trip worthwhile, not to mention admission is free.

Didn't took 5 minutes in a small, hot room, for the Psychiatrist to flip out on my 5 year old son. She should be the one with more patience and understanding of the situation since she works with kids with mental problems . Instead, she called security, threatened to call the cops and was going to send me to a mental hospital to get him treated. She didn't even took the time to get him to speak to her. Is ridiculous. I havent felt so hurt and stress as much as I do now. Made me feel like Im hurting my child when Im almost begging for help for him. Im seriously not going back to this place. Was my first and last time.

Please do not spend your money here. $5 gets you access to three rooms filled with glass lamps shaped like snakes and octupi. That's it. No really, that was it - hope you enjoyed.
