Portions are big, the 紅燒牛肉麵 is yummy as always, very soft stewed beef. The soup and vegetables we had were delicious too. Highly recommend.

Authentic and amazing food, but unfortunately that does not really compensate for the lack of service and poorly managed atmosphere. It takes infinitely long to grab servers attention to order, get water, or even get the bill. Interior design is also too dusty - there is a clear difference between having an antique feels and just downright not cleaning the windows, and etc. Hope the place improves on these points so that more people can enjoy its amazing food!

Housed in a charming old building, 1963 Taiwanese restaurant is a hidden gem in Wan Chai. The Taiwanese comfort food is good, but what is really charming is the decor comprising of walls covered in vintage patterned wallpaper and antique artifacts (mainly clocks and cameras), giving off a warm and nostalgic vibe. Would’ve been 5 stars had the service been better. Still, I’d recommend the place to anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience in Wan Chai.

I haven’t visited this place for ages and I still like the vintage decoration and the Taiwanese fusion cuisine here, it’s my first time to try their lunch menu , 茶燻雞佐鳥龍茶漬飯 was surprisingly good and the chicken is full of the oolong favor.

Nostalgic setting. Being here is like back in 1963. The atmosphere is great, but the rusty mailboxes and accessaries need care or perhaps some restoration. Dried flowers on the windows need replacement. This place needs more colours and life. Food wise, they are tasty family home cooking. The herbal tea are really nice.

Came here for lunch. If you come with a big group, better call to reserve first. A bit pricey. The beef noodle was good, would recommend this dish. This restaurant worth a try. But it is not special enough to get my second visit.

Here is Taiwanese restaurant in Hong Kong. It was a retro themed restaurant, it felt like I had slipped back in time to the 70s. It was my first time eating Taiwanese food but every dish was excellent, even the plates and chopsticks were elegant. The service was really great as well. We had trouble finding the entrance to the restaurant though. But definitely a great quality meal for the price. I thought the staff had made a mistake it was so cheap!

Authentic Taiwanese food with nice set dinner options. The fruit teas were too sweet.

2023 update

Service was poor, we were not offered menus and had to wait a few minutes before anyone brought us to our table. They ran out of ALL desserts and 水蓮 and 過貓. Food was good and affordable. 150 hkd per person for a hearty meal.

The environment is getting quite dusty and dirty. You have to walk teo flights of stairs to reach the restaurant.
