My go to for my pooches. The year round pass is worth it. There's an awesome 3 mile loop around the golf course. One side of the loop runs along the river. There's a couple small beaches to get your doggy wet. Very well maintained. Tons of wildlife. I'm very lucky to live close by, FYI, there is a dog friendly bar with pub food called the Main Stage at the golf course!

This is a huge Park! Plenty to do! Want to throw a frisbee? Want to play soccer? Football? Plenty of room to do all of that all at the same time. Great Park

Walked the loop trail surrounding the park. It was about 3 miles. All parking lots had access to the trail. Trail is about 70% shaded.

REALLY NICE! Huge grassy areas. Reserved picnic areas. Nice trails. River access within a 5 min walk. Lots of parking. Next to a nature preserve...came across a calving doe! Saw a group of baby ducks. Dogs allowed on a leash.
There's a Nature Center with plenty of educational exhibits, both inside and outside. There's also some animals inside. There are hiking trails, all very low difficulty. On my journey, I saw dozens of deer, some only a few feet away. There were close to one hundred turkeys, and one lonely coyote. The trails goo through the woods and alongside the American River. I thoroughly enjoyed my journey!

Great nature preserve! You will see lots of wildlife, and they have info about the indigenous life that is native to this area. Great for the family or for a rejuvenating stroll through the woods. Highly recommend this place for anyone at any time!

Adorable park tucked away In the neighborhood. Really large free library off Jan. Dr. Lots of trails for biking, walking and scootering. Playground is on the smaller side but simple can be great. Nice grassy area. No permanent toilet but a pretty decent port-o-potty available.

Beautiful park, excellent place to take a walk "down by the river." You can also have a barbecue with family and friends, or just kick back and relax under the gorgeous trees. Truly a hidden gem in the Carmichael area.

Nice place for walking

Soccer fields

And other large green unmarked spaces

Small kids park good for 3-5 year olds. They can get bored quickly though as the play structures are for climbing not running.

Paved cul de sac is gated from traffic so great area to practice bikes.

I have been to this park before, but I went on this day because I wanted to document the salmon habitat restoration. I usually try to take more beautiful and artistic photos, and although I did get a couple of pretty good ones, these photos are just for me and others to remember the way it was as we look back someday to this beautiful area!

I have been here many times. One of the nicer parks around. I usually go to Arcade Creek Park but over the last several months homeless have taken to living there. The park isn't watered regularly and the trash is everywhere. Looks like DC park will be my nee go to! Green and Clean!

This park is using goats and sheep during the summer to eat the weeds and dry grass. They put an electric fence all around the park that shocks the animals if they touch it. The walking path is also very narrow at the left side of the park where they put most of the fence to hold the animals. If someone walking by accidentally touches it they will get zapped, as well as unleashed dogs or curious children. This is a hazard and a liability and should not be allowed. I will never visit this park anymore after seeing this, which is too bad as it was my favorite park in the area.
Update took this picture today Saturday may 27 2023

It's nice and quiet not many people was able to watch sandy the Squirrel play and hunt for nuts

A very small park for those who live nearby. There is a playground and a few benches around the perimeter of the park. You can walk your dog, there's a trash can and bags. Good for running.

I love this place. You can either take an asphalt road walk or follow the trodden path in the park. In spring the blooming is awesome

This is a great place to bring children, a dog, or to just go for a stroll. There is a playground, a number of benches and tables, and a pathway that winds through the middle of the park and loops in the back through a nature area.

The park's trees are almost all olive trees, so when the olives are in season, some of the pathways turn into an oily mess.

Love this park as it’s not crowded during the school year. It does have a sand digger, my Littles fave. No bathroom and scarce shady parking. Still good. ✨✌🏼😎🎈

It was a gorgeous day full of fun. There were multiple Thanksgiving day football games and kids at the playground with their parents. Many area residence were out waking their dogs and the vibe was extremely positive. Couldn't have asked for a better place to set the stage for a day of fun and R&R!

Maddox park was great, the only issue I had was one of the homeowners either across from, or backed up to the park called to complain about people working out there in the morning. The sheriff actually had to come out and tell us this because they received a call. I can understand if there is a ton of noise or criminal activity, but people exercising?? Sac Sheriff has other business that they should be attending to, not being bothered by entitled neighbors.

Always a nice time with my kid. They have 3 slides, a couple different sets of monkey bars. Also a few different things for toddlers. Great place to come for an hour.

Playground structure is in good repair and plenty of seating. However olives all over the place and no bathrooms. Also people often let their dogs off leash here and sometimes on the playground. :(

Jan Park is a little sketchy. Short on amenities and paved trail. Still, when it's dry, it's a fine place for a jog or to walk the dog.

Nice park for the family, but no restrooms if you gotta go potty. Watch out running through the field, people let their dogs off the leash and let them poop on the grass without picking up after them. I've dodged a few landmines during my exercise routine.

The park is pretty, and the fields are well maintained. The pretend adults that light the play structures on fire or otherwise vandalize them every few years gets old, but this issue has been improving every year. The parking setup is bizarre. It's best to serve the local neighborhoods to walk up to it with three access points, and a fourth hidden one.
