FortWhyte is a place that never disappoints. It is equally fun to go during each season and see how much the landscape changes. Kids can have fun looking for bugs and learning about Manitoban animals.
Went while it was very cold, but the sculptures looked cool covered in snow. The roads were a tad confusing but manageable

Beautiful place in the fall. Endless trails and exploring. Lots of wildlife. Bring water, snacks and a camera this is one of if not my number 1 favorite place in the province. Its magical to say the least. Don't feed the animals and don't litter. Enjoy and preserve our shared backyard. :)
Quite a sight to see. Very large, wide pathways, many of which contain benches and brickwork that have dedications on them ( very cool ). Also a couple of buildings that feature art pieces and sculptures. Including sample sculptures of how they were made. Garden is kept very tidy. A must see.
A beautiful place for relaxing walking with family or friends or just you

On Thanksgiving we visited Assiniboine Park's Duck Pond, English Garden, Leo Mol sculptures and the Pavilion's two floors of art galleries. Great time as always because there were lots of clean well maintained paths, easily found a parking spot and was budget-friendly. It's easy to spend hours watching people, birds, cyclists or looking at all the beautiful flowers, sculptures and artwork(pavilion).
The Leo Mol Sculpture Garden in Assiniboine Park is a serene and enchanting space that combines nature and art beautifully. It features an impressive collection of sculptures by the talented artist Leo Mol, set amidst lush gardens and tranquil pathways. The garden offers a peaceful escape, allowing visitors to appreciate art in a natural setting. It's a perfect place for a leisurely stroll, and the sculptures' craftsmanship and diversity make it a delightful cultural experience within the park.
I recently visited this place and was completely fascinated by the beauty and serenity that this place offers. From the moment I entered, I perceived a feeling of tranquility that is difficult to find elsewhere. This is a real gem for nature lovers and those who wish to immerse themselves in an environment rich in biodiversity. The variety of plants, trees is extraordinary. I loved how each section is precisely curated, allowing visitors to explore and discover the wonders of global flora. Every corner offers a new educational and visual experience. This is also a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Strategically placed benches offer quiet corners to sit and contemplate your surroundings.
In conclusion, I highly recommend a visit to this place to anyone who wishes to spend time immersed in the beauty and diversity of the plant kingdom. It is an experience that I deeply appreciated and that I will certainly repeat.

Awesome trails and lots of greenery. Good place for watching goose, ducks and other animals and a lot of history. Bison viewing is available. Great place to spend weekends and watch sunset. the museum has a lot of taxidermy stuff of owls, bears, bison, deer, cougar, foxes and so on.
Entry tickets for two is about $21 dollars if you are not a member. It is worth it.

This park has so many attractions. The steam train is great for kids. The English garden is so beautiful in the summer… great for an outdoor run on a nice day. The sargent sundae is right across from the park…how convenient for ice cream lovers. Go inside the pavilion and explore the galleries. Highly recommended!

🟢 WALK in NATURE …
Being at this beautiful park, makes you loose yourself from the daily chores of life.
The lush greenery, chirping of birds, ducks ponds, playful squirrels, etc. have a very positive effect on us.
It’s a perfect place for picnics, walking, running, cycling, kids play grounds, swimming, football, volleyball, etc.
The park is very maintained with clean washrooms, plenty of parking and also has a restaurant touching a large water body.
Beautiful gardens, sculptures and water features. Stunning as the sun sets. Worth noting that the garden closes at 9pm.

The new Leaf is amazing! From the delicious food at Gather to the conservatory with two biomes, butterfly room, fish pond, waterfall and outdoor gardens - it didn't disappoint! Amazing place to visit.
It's such a pretty park to walk in. We walked around and took plenty of very nice pictures. You can see that they care for their plants.

This is a large park with the zoo, an arboretum, lots of open areas for picnics and games. But best of all is the English garden. Beautifully maintained, docents walking about to answer questions, good plant labeling, stunning plantings.

The Leo Mol Sculpture Garden (at the arbour) is an absolutely incredible spot for an outdoor wedding ceremony! We got married there in the beginning of June and the garden was so lush and green. The grounds are very well kept. Everyone walking through the garden is kind and has a smile on their face. It brings out the best in people! For weddings, the location includes set-up and tear down by Assiniboine Park staff and nice white chairs. I had to follow-up with Assiniboine Park staff frequently to get the information I needed and to get my questions answered leading up to the big day which was frustrating but no other location would have fit the vision we had. If you are looking for an outdoor ceremony space - this can't be beat!

Went on the north side of the trail(close to Sterling Lyon Parkway) and it’s a pretty solid trail. Seems like it’s mainly used for bikes since that’s all I saw but it’s a good walking trail too. Didn’t visit the rest of FortWhyte Alive but definitely will in the future.
The Leo Mol Sculpture Garden is an absolutely beautiful spot for Weddings. Whether having your ceremony there or just taking a stroll through for some photos. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. As a photographer, Leo Mol is one of my favorite locations for weddings!

Been rollerblading at this park since 1993. Decided to return and hoped to see some favorite places and the new additions.
Sadly, most paths are in desperate need of being repaved. My wheels were constantly getting stuck, the paths are still made using the old rock path that vibrates my wheels. My feet were numb by the end of my two hour trip. This is also not great for push scooters. So young kids will find it difficult, especially when they have to pass over the tar filled lines.
The park has made some great upgrades but their paths are totally lacking and they need to be upgraded as not everyone uses bikes on the walking paths. Would love to see some funds used to upgrade the paths. Some paths even have full on weeds growing between the cracks on the cement paths. I'm thankful that I am quite solid on my blades and did not fall, but I can see some adults and kids taking a tumble.
Love that the paths have remained open, but they are in desperate need of an upgrade.
Love the extra kid zones, old Beach volleyball courts, BBQ spots, new additions and the Pavillion where I saw a wedding taking place on a Friday afternoon.
Great collection of Sculptures/art. Free to visit. Have to hunt for RV parking, A fair bit of car parking. It is located in the park. Check for operating hours.
A nice way to spend some time.

It’s a really nice place to enjoy. You can rent cycles and roam around, chill near the red river, enjoy Sargent sundae ice cream, visit the museum that’s near by. It’s an amazing place to have camps and enjoy with family and friends.

Gorgeous park, lots of different areas connected by footpaths. It's like a park in a forest there are so many trees. Canadian geese love it here. Clean washrooms. Restaurant. Perfect for walking, picnicking, riding through on your bike. Playground, swimming pool.
Visited here in the winter to try out snowshoeing. We rented from them and also brought our own snowshoes. It was fun going on their trails and on the frozen-over ponds and lakes. We even encountered a couple of deer in their forest trail. After snowshoeing we spent time on theit toboggan run. They have large toboggans on-site and these are free to use once you are already in the park. Of course, it's always nice seeing the bison enclosure. They also have a shop, cafe and a small museum.

This park is small but nice. Especially in the summer. The variety of flowers is mesmerizing. Sometimes, it's hard to find parking, but it's not really busy on the weekdays. The restaurant offers ice cream and some simple food from the outside window, and the restrooms under the restaurant are accessible to the public year round.

Amazing place to visit. Something to do for everyone. Very close to the Trans-Canada Highway so you can make quick stop to stretch legs and enjoy the beautiful park. Loved the different areas with very well maintained park infrastructure. I would definitely recommend visiting different attractions in the park.
Great displays with information plaques. Not very many planes which is why I didn't give 5 stars.
Loved checking this place out! Can’t wait for the spring to visit again. I wonder if you can ice skate here in the winter?

A lovely spot for a walk in the woods. Feels like getting out of town. Many well marked wide paths and enough space to explore for hours.frequent deer sightings, many birds and friendly fellow park goers.
Great place for a bike ride or a hike or sit on thier deck and enjoy the views
Pretty cool little park with planes enough to satisfy anyone who has an inching for aviation! Super easy to get to and walk around, every plane has a nice description attached to it as well and they have both old and relatively newer trainer planes!

I love the trails especially at Fall season with the beautiful colors of the trees as you walk along the paths. Good paved and gravel trails for biking. A good place to go if you want to clear your mind.
Worth going to if you live in the area or need to walk a new trail. Great for a relaxing walk in nature.
The monument and surrounding area provide a lot of historical information in a visually pleasing way. The airplanes are a big hit with my children, and we come here often so they can run in the field and woods. There are a couple geocaches in the park as well for added enjoyment.

A great path for running or biking if you live close to it. Not at all great if you're looking for peaceful nature. Due to its proximity to Fermor Avenue, it's really noisy. Only good if you listen to music to drown out the traffic.
Great place to get some fresh air and enjoy the nature.
Excellent displays! They have static displays of the F-86, CF-100, CF-101, CF-104 among others. Only Canadian fighters they're missing are a CF-5 and CF-18. Should totally consider adding those to the grounds to complete the collection. :) Very peaceful to wander around at night too.
Was beautiful. Nothing extraordinary. I liked kildonan park better. And it's free too. For people who love to ride bicycles, I guess this place is good.
I have lived in the Winnipeg area most of my life, and I never realized this park existed. It's a nice place to visit and see some of the Airforce's planes and equipment. Everything is within easy walking distance. There are plaques describing what you are seeing at each display.
Beautiful place to walk the dogs or take a stroll. Lots of trees and walking paths.
We had a fabulous visit and its hard to believe you're right on the edge of the city while you're walking past lakes and through the bush
Love walking my doggo here. Well maintained, plenty of trails with awesome sights and sounds. Definitely saw and heard some owls, that was cool. Also a great place to kill your pumpkin.
A beautiful, well-maintained network of easy trails to run or walk or hang a hammock in. Many come to birdwatch
We had a great time today, the staff was friendly, it was very affordable, maps were easy to read. The walking trails and floating boardwalk were great. The only part that wasn't great was my daughter really wanted to see the aquarium however it's in the same building as all the taxidermy animals and she was too afraid to go in.
The end of the trail we took was at the Bison Lookout. Good view from the treehouse.
My husband and I liked all the planes on display. We stayed in the park to have a little picnic. We enjoyed our time together as it was quiet and able to take our time checking all the planes closely.

Niakwa trail is one of a handful that run alongside a major roadway. As such, many cyclists use these trails as a safer alternative to riding on the highway. Due to this, you should be mindful to keep to the right of the trail because there can be many blind corners when the trees are in bloom.

The trail's upkeep could be better as there is frequently a lot of litter along the side and plently of overgrown grass. At least it is paved and fairly wide in most sections.

That being said, the trail is an excellent way to get to the St. Vital Library, the YMCA, and even Southdale Shopping Centre.

I wouldn't recommend taking this trail alone at night as there is a lack of lighting.

All in all for commuting, fitness, and recreation, Niakwa trail proves to be one of the better options in the neighborhood.
Fantastic groomed trails, beautiful views. What more could you ask for. Great place to go and clear your mind!!
Lovely place. I'd strongly recommend to visit it at fall

It's a trail which runs along side fermor avenue. It's paved with asphalt and it great for walks, running, biking or strollers.
