Please start the lights for the basketball earlier this year. We have so many nice days in the spring. Can we begin the season in the beginning of May instead of labor day weekend and extend the season until end of October? Also many people play in the dark after the lights go off around 10:20 and many accidents happen on the basketball courts. Can you please keep the lights on to 11pm so that no one gets hurt?

Absolutely amazing place to go with your children....can get a little experience if you don't live in Long Island, but it's worth it!!!!
Good place to visit. A family place. Best for outside BBQ. There are so many spots for that. Located near stream that not have so water I think that is a rainy stream. Also couldn't find any ducks. Park is full of thick trees. They take entry fees $8. I visited Liberty State park. Free entry. They should lessen that.

Our visit at this swimming pool, was such an awful experience we were greeted fine by the staff just to enter the slide and be scolded by a “lifeguard” who she made apparent is also a gym teacher that my parents were not wearing the right attire for the pool. Which is fine if there was a sign or if we were told at the entrance not next to the pool when you already passed the payment section and bathrooms. When we went to ask for perhaps a refund from the staff in the front they told us “they took a lot of the signs down but it is a requirement and you need to speak to the manager who is in the office”. I go into the office and a lady immediately try’s to lecture me that all County parks require swim suits and that it’s “common sense “ and I should be able to put 2 and 2 together. I didn’t even try to be accommodating just wanted to get nasty. Worst experience would not come here again. Also there are other pool in Suffolk county were you are allowed to go into the pool with whatever you have on!
Gorgeous, clean and friendly park. I've captured some amazing sunsets here.
We have been to this park twice this summer. Me and my sister with three children. At the entrance it was necessary to pay 10 dollars, but we only had a 50 dollar bill that was not accepted from us, and they did not even explain why. OK.
Wasps fly everywhere. Our children almost got bitten. Why aren't they doing anything about it?
Very disappointed with this facility. My parents took my kids to this pool over the weekend and they were told that my kids couldn’t wear their swimmies!!? That’s mind blowing to me, my kids are 4 and 5 years old and they do not know how to swim, so how is this possible?! I’ve been to a lot of public pools and I NEVER heard of such a stupid rule that puts my kids at risk of drowning.

There was nothing online, or posted in any reviews, that the park is closed to the public during the day in the summer. I don't know if it's closed during the school year as well, but it was very disappointing for my kids to be turned away. And there are no other playgrounds anywhere nearby.

Wow, this place sounds like a dream! The combination of BBQ, nature, ice cream, and accessible restrooms is a winning formula for the perfect retreat. I can already imagine myself enjoying a delicious burger while surrounded by picturesque scenery. And the thought of indulging in handcrafted ice cream flavors afterward? Pure bliss! It's great to know that they prioritize convenience with well-maintained restrooms. Can't wait to visit this haven and immerse myself in nature's tranquility. 🌳🍔🍦💫
This place is so amazing. The reason I'm giving 4 star is because of the dirty bathroom.

Large park that was practically empty on cold Saturday morning in late fall. Nice bay views and cool-looking playground.
The Park is spacious, easy to locate with plenty of car parking space. More pitch to play soccer ⚽️ and other games.

Was here with my Parish team from Celestial Church of Christ Ileri Oluwa Parish, Brooklyn NY. We did played an inter-Parish Match here and it was really interesting and fun.

We had our IOP Family Picnic Day/Charity Soccer Match Event 2022 on Saturday, September 10th, 2022
Time: 11am - 7pm

Venue: Valley Stream State Park Rd, Valley Stream, NY 11580

We were able to pay a Parking Fee of $8 CASH or Credit Card is accepted.

Please try to be there earlier to settle and prep up for the match.

See you all at the park!!!

Let me take you through some nice pictures and videos 📹.

I will recommend the park for family outing, match or any soccer ⚽️ event.

Please read all, thank you! Four stars only because there was one broken water fountain, on a 92 degree day. We had to leave solely for water. YET, I brought my very active 4 1/2 year old Grandson here; and enjoyed every single moment! This Park has everything! Great for babies on to teenagers with the soft Matt playground, organized, fenced in Handball, Basketball, and Tennis Courts.
There are Two clean Fields for Organized Soccer and Baseball! There is also a fenced in open field for Frizbee, Kite Flying, or just exploring.

Safe and clean community park, very nice place for a BBQ or family picnic if you reside in Queens or Valley stream with not much backyard space. Safe area and nice playground for the kids. Workers are very nice and kids love the sand box.
Amazing 4th of July fireworks. Happy 4th all!

Some of the Park staff are very rude and need to relax with their attitude. People come to the park to relax and enjoy. Kids playground is ok. The sprinklers
weren’t working and parts of the kids jungle gym is rusted, broken and unsafe. $10 for non residents.

Park location is beautiful, clean well kept equipment. My daughter loved it. The 1 star is for the park employee who decided myself and my service dog were not welcome and were asked to leave no exceptions but another man and his dog were welcome after the fact. I AM DISGUSTED WITH THE BLATANT DISCRIMINATION. When questioned this woman who happened to be an adult female of Asian descent wearing glasses said oh well you can come next time. Again denying me service because she believed my dog wasn’t doing a task without even asking what service she was for. It required me to display my service ID card and serious advocation for my own disability. The other owner allowed his dog to defecate in the field and not an eye was batted. But my dog in a down stay not interacting with any people as to not make any of the other parents uncomfortable was asked to leave.

Beautiful park....great summer camp for our valley stream kids. The grounds are up kept really well. The activities they do with the kids in the summer are awesome . Finally the staff is FANTASTIC, from the camp director to supervisors, counselors to counselors in training and Finally the staff that handles crossing and controlling the streets. Check out the park and if you can let your child enjoy camp!!!

Beautiful park very clean my kids love coming here
The valley stream pool is beautiful, the parking lot is free with plenty of spots in the summer time. The grounds of the pool are clean and spacious, they have the main pool a lap pool a kiddie pool and a splash park. They are great with social distancing and sanitation. There snack bar is also very good and average prices they carry everything from drinks to ice cream, burgers and hot dogs.
The park is wonderful. It is nicely kept and there are some nice facilities such as a plaground..a pool...and some nice walking paths.

There is a gazebo and a an attractive fountain.

Once a year the local fire department sets up a traveling carnival as a fundraiser. It is well attended by many community members.

Some people who are new to the area or who are simply passing through should note that the park is not part of the State park...although they are separate entities they are both very nice.

One last thing...if you want to enter the pool complex you will need to show ID. They only admit residents to the pool.

I love VS. They opened the gates since I was a kid and is better than ever.
Facility is superb, accessing the parking if your not from the area can be tricky depending on the time of day
Its a good place to live but the neighbor hoods are falling apart cause of the owners of houses are renting to any class of people and lowering property values in the area thats why so many home onwners are moving out of Valley Stream ...
Great place to live and raise kids
4th of July Fireworks Celebration was AWESOME! So close, right over your head. Great family event!

Great play ground and field and courts. Parking is usually easy right in front. There are two sets of jungle gyms/slides (for older and younger kids), a lot of swings, two soccer courts and a handball court, a baseball field and a large grassy field. Plenty of benches and even bathrooms/vending machines.
Great and safe place to raise a family. Short commute to NYC.
Fairly organized place. Pool exhibits excellent safety measures. Safe place for my kids to learn and play.
I've been a member of their pool club for the last decade. Great set up for all different ages, from baby pools, sprinkle park, Olympic pool to senior section, free water aerobics classes are included In the price of membership, including aqua Zumba. Best of all, they hire the absolute best life guards. They are always on point and do a great job. Makes me feel that my kids are in good hands
