I don't know if Compton is as bad as it's reputation suggests but I didn't hang around too long to find out. The park itself is a little dated but it has enough of the basics to keep everyone happy. Hip, euro gap, ledges and rails. The bowl looked good also.
As a random English suburban village bloke on a mission to skate 1000 skateparks, to say I've skated Compton skatepark is fantastic in my opinion.

Nice little hood park with skateboard park , places to chill , basketball court , its got a exercise area ,lots of cool basketball art work around , parking around and nearby public transportation, business, restaurants etc to here .
The cemetery is closed due to liability hazards on the property.

It's decently clean.

This is one of the worst kept cemeteries I have ever seen. I was disappointed to have traveled from Texas to visit my father's grave and not only was the cemetery closed in the middle of the day the property was in terrible condition. It saddens me to know my father is buried in there. He was a Navy veteran and should be treated better.
The newly dedicated Kobe and Gigi Bryant Court and surrounding murals were beautiful and inspiring.

Great memorial, but the plaza looked rather empty on a Sunday.

I am so grateful after six years of getting the run around of this cemetery trying to visit my father who was put here it just gave me some relief when I found that it would be reopened for family to come and visit with there love one the lord has a way of fixing all things God bless the staff who took over to make it possible God forever bless and keep them love always The Course Family

Much respect with the cemetery had a lot of family buried there now we can go see them

OMG. There are such wonderful people working there! They were so helpful to me. They have done such great cleaning and improvement. This time my tears were of joy when I left. They helped me find information and grave sites.They deserve much love and blessings
Celestine Bishop has done a phenomenal job restoring the cemetery and honor to the cemtery and the city of Compton, I have family buried there... im so happy I can walk the sacred grounds with pride and not sorrow 😊

Visiting my family in Los Angeles, the cemetery staff help me locate the grave of a friend from High School I've been searching some three years for.
The first employee I asked was very kind but he couldn't locate the plot immediately.
He asked another about it by handheld radio. This didn't help so he walked a ways to the office for a map and before long, the entire staff of at least 6 (including the new owner) were searching the grounds to help me.
When a knowledgeable woman joined in and located the gravesite they all waved their arms to let me know. They cleaned the headstone and offered me comforting words and sincere sympathy as I became teary eyed and sorrowful at the grave.
I'm happy to know this small and humble cemetery that has held the remains of my friend since 1987, is as caring as if he died yesterday. His remains are in great hands.....

[Parking] There is free parking on the street.
[Atmosphere] It had a typical playground vibe with benches for parents and a nice playground. There was a community feel to it.
[Safety] A lot of people would say the area isn't safe, but we felt safe the entire time we were there. The playground is big and a smaller kid could get hurt falling off the structure, so keep an eye on the little ones.

Only good if your kid HAS to play a game there. Other than that its ran down. Good for open soccer games though but part of the field has pot holes.
Childhood Park scary back in the day but love how they cleaned the place at Great environment for children looking to stay off of the street thanks again Kelly Park in the city of Compton for keeping it open and clean

Wide open space playground equipment was clean though there was an unsavory group of guys hanging out at the tables I grew up in this neighborhood so I know how dangerous it can be at times great place to visit wouldn't want to spend a long period of time there
They need to update the play area slides are broken there used to be a seesaw but it got broke and never fixed. It's for the kids it should get fixed.

Great park,needs more money pumped in it though.fix the baseball diamond and bleachers,outside bathrooms need to come back,re-do the basketball court,upgrade the play area,add another bbq pit or 3,a couple more cameras
