Great but needs maintenance
Spectacular flat walking trail along the waterline. Swans, seagulls, people walking dogs, kids playing and so much more. Ferguson Pier is also a great place to visit. There is a playground. Toilets. Parking is good but $5 per hour. Disabled friendly. Places to eat nearby.

Good place to have a walk and enjoy the scenery.Nice and clean playground for kids to enjoy
Nice place for a walk. If you get a gelati from the icecream truck, do yourself a favour and don't get the jam donuts lol. They are microwaved and soggy with no jam 😭 great ice cream though

There are paid and free parking spaces along the street. You can swim and fish if you like just pick a good spot. The beach is easily accessible. If you prefer walking or running, the path is approximately 2 km but you can go all the way down towards Newport if you like. Just bring a bottled water just in case...

Very relaxing place to sit and watch the ships go by. We were lucky enough to see dolphins.Walking path along the water for excercising, taking the dog for a walk etc. Great historic stop for tourists and a huge park where you could stop to enjoy the views, but unfortunately there are no picnic tables and there are no toilets in the area, which draws you away from wanting to have a longer stop to really enjoy the whole area. Desperately need toilets there for the public.

Lovely reserve on warm sunny days when the fresh produce market is on
A truly lovely place to walk. Dogs seem to be off leash here. Views are wonderful and sea air very refreshing. A hidden gem.

Great space for a stroll, picnic, and some quiet time, as it is less busier than the surrounding areas.
Great spot to walk your dog
The dogs 🐕 favourite off lead dog park. Not fenced, but rock beach on one side, long grass with the occasional snake. Lots of rocks in low tide. Rock pools for 🐕 to get his paws wet (refuses to swim but watches others). Drinks the salt water, then vomits a few minutes later. He just loves this area.
Magnificent night views across the bay. Clean and well maintained.

Pet friendly market located in Williamstown. Short and sweet that we had to take the loop twice to make sure we didn’t miss anything. We went there with our fury baby and for variety of food and had fresh fruit juice, coffee, gozleme very nice this one as fresh from the pan, we had pastries, sausage sizzles and all. It was more for food and some fresh produce and local made products, there were also some participants from regions with their best wines and spirits. Very relaxed market that you can bring your picnic mat and enjoy the music and sun. Prices are reasonable. The market is open every second Sunday of the month between 9am and 2pm bring your gold coins for entry donations. Parking can be a bit hard.
Did the farmers market. It's great the second Sunday of each month.
Took the girls for an evening walk out of our home suburb. They loved the lights and apart from the rain it was a great way to get some fresh air in a different environment ☺️ Shame about the litter.

great snorkeling in jawbone reserve nearby
Coastal park with great views to the city and of the bay. dogs off leads. Now with a parkrun at 8am. Can be windy
Apart from the refinery blocking much of the view to the east, this is a nice place which should always be protected. I like the peaceful (but narrow and rocky) beach next to Battery Road, including the lava blister, and the playground at Fort Gellibrand is great for kids.
Absolutely beautiful view of the bay and an amazing spot to watch the sunset. The beach has a great fish and chip ship close to the reserve. There are also shops just down the road where you can grab a bite to eat or some gelato. A great way to spend a warm summer's evening!
Good walk around the point with a neat view across to the city.
My kids love clambering over the rocks and searching for their favourite shells.
Good playground here which is much quieter than the one around the corner at Commonwealth Park
Beautiful area so close to the city centre. This area allows you to take 5min for yourself and forget about the crazy stress of life. Plenty of people fishing and a nice walking and bike track to head towards altona.

Easy access to rock pools for exploring and hunting for crabs with young kids. Bring aqua or closed in shoes as muscle shells and braincells can be sharp specially on young feet
Very scenic kids love coming here and having a play

Well kept, clean & easy for my grandchild, just a short walk from home, with 2 benches to sit and relax while taking in some fresh air.

A good park opposite the beach with a variety of equipment for all ages, plenty of grass areas for the kids to run around on also. Also has nearby public toilets which is good.
Fantastic Farmers Market. So much variety and great to see Australian produced goods. Definitely a must visit if you haven't already.
Such a beautiful location, but the level of service delivered by Hobson's Bay City Council has significantly decreased. The reserve used to be beautifully maintained to match the stunning views. Now it's just like any other reserve maintained by Hobson's Bay, let go, no finesse.
Nice clean lovely place to walk, picnic or bring children
A nice place to watch the ships go by to/from Port Phillip Bay. A small amount of parking with a water view. Toilets are situated at the end of the park (if you enter from the esplanade.
Nice for a walk a relax a picnic. Highly recommended.
Perfect place but for full life enjoyment there should be some cafe or restaurant...
Good playground at the eastern end with slides, rockers, swings of different heights, monkey bars and climbing frames.

Vast open space with a nearby trail overlooking the rockpool, great place to go exploring and not as busy as the other nearby reserves.
This heritage park marks an important period during Victoria's history and most of the sites are well maintained and the signage gives you a sound idea as to why it's very important, worth a visit.

Beautiful for jogging, walking, playing with your dog, just relaxing on the grass or looking out to sea on the rocks. Great walking track, visit frequently. There's a nice section along the walking track to see black swans and sea birds.

We came here for the regional farmers market which is held once a month. The park is great and had public toilets not far away. Parking was abit tough but after a couple of laps we managed to find a spot. The market stalls had plenty to offer, and the coffee can there makes excellent latte's. There is a playground adjacent to the park for the little ones.
Nice little walks and great views of water. BBQ and benches available with cute little playground for kids.
Have Williamstown markets close by to get anything you want for a picnic and good family crowd
Great playground area for the kids. Across the road from the beach. Plenty of space.

Accompany by Bay Trail W and Hatt Reserve, this is a nice place for walking dog, looking out the sea and just walking by yourself.

Its great to sit by the rocks here and admire the beauty of the coast. You can see either coasts of the back waters from this point. Best before sunset.
Open and clean, but bring your own shade because there are about two trees, no gazebos or shelters. Toilets and bins are over the road when you need them, not many food options.
The reserve:
The reserve covers children's play area and Hudson Bay beach. Usually not very crowded, this place is a very good weekend getaway if you have limited time. The beach has great views for walkers.

What can you do here?
The water isn't only waist deep (for an average adult) for a long way into the bay and while it is too cold for getting wet in winters, it definitely is fun during summer's.
On a cool windy day, thanks to the sparse crowds you can fly kites or play on the beach sand.
The waters are not good for surfing nor they produce big waves, but that are very clear and I have seen people snorkeling here. Fishing is another popular pastime for people visiting.

Other interesting places nearby:
Science works museum, Williamstown

Parking:
Paid parking available from 4$ per hour right at the beach, while free parking is also available for up to 2P on approaching roads.
