Pretty big playground. Plenty of nice views (lake, Restaurants, animals) Great place for kids to play.
I almost don't want to share how awesome this park is because it was almost like a secret garden park. The slides were out of service but there was so much to love still. Hand pump that creates a cool stream around the landscaping, picnic area, reading area with a free little library, climbing areas and the best part for my kids, the sand play area with water feature so you can really play like you're at the beach! All made from recycled wood! With beautiful gardens and trees!
Only problem is there is no public restroom but the folks at the community center with the pool were kind enough to let the kids use the restroom (not sure if that's standard or we just got lucky).

Good place to spend an afternoon/evening.
Nice concept but wasps nesting in holes in children's gazebos, need another layer of fresh sand in play area, large chair was soiled with trash and not clean.

It was a nice walk, the trails aren't marked well but are short enough that you're not going to get lost. I had to go elsewhere for longer walks.

It's a quiet, peaceful place, perfect for an evening stroll or a bike ride. There are multiple entrances to this park, and the trails are short (couple of miles at best) and easy.

There's a small stream running down and you could even see a bit of wildlife (deers etc). There's a basketball court, football field and even a tennis court.

Overall, loved the fact we could have something like this close to the city.

Nice round trail. Very convenient for people that live near by. During the week there's not anyone. Some may find it dangerous...
Is nice for all children
Great park for short walk. Deer are ever present, saw 2 fawns. Lots of waterfowl, few people.
It's really nice but need a bigger parking lot
It was a cold day, but it was beautiful. I noticed that they are installing already the lights for Christmas. It most take a long time for the assembly of all of them. For sure I will come back an see them on November or December
Place have changed over the year's 100% great place to walk around good place to meet new friendly people but bad at night to walk anyone trying to walk be careful at night don't walk without a flashlight for safety reasons many weed smokers

I really wish this playground had a soft floor rather than wood chips, but that's not a big enough deal to dock a star. Two really well made play structures (one for 2-5 and one for 5-12, though kids of all ages tend to use both, to be aware). We're a big fan

This is definitely NOT a kid friendly park. The design of the playground is apparently for much older kids, not for younger kids. Whoever designed the playground must hate kids.

It's a nice park. Doesn't have a dedicated parking lot, hence the 4 star.
Cute and friendly neighborhood park. Not fenced in so you'll have to run after kids with alot of energy. It's close to the street. Good for a morning or afternoon stroll to get rid of that kiddie energy.

Love this park! Has a big field for soccer or whatnot, a section for larger kids (but my toddler had no problem with some assistance), a tot section, tire swing, and regular swings. And the dog park is a small 5min walk behind the park connected by a walking path so great to see the dogs if your little one loves dogs! There are always other kids there of various ages.

Small park near amazing rio lakefront - lots of restaurants, AMC, shopping mall nearby.. Would have liked if there were more parking spots considering the popularity of the place. A must visit place near Gaithersburg, Maryland.
Very nice little park in the middle of a neighborhood. Really nice native plants attracting pollinators. Hanging adult swings and seating, a nice big sandbox area, some slides for kids and a cool water feature with an old-fashioned hand pump and a little river on the side of the park! A few picnic tables, lots of trees that will be nicer each year as they get bigger and provide more shade. Only street parking but when I've driven there has been plenty on the little streets around it.

We randomly came across this park one day and wow!! It's fun and has climbers and slides for all ages. My 7 yr old and my 2 yr old twins loved it. Also, it's very well taken care of and has a ton of swings!! 10/10
This park needs more benches by the playground areas. The one with the slide only has one bench, the second one is facing the field with its back to the playground. Where are the other parents/adults supposed to sit and watch the kids (when we are not playing with them)? There could easily be a bunch more benches along the pathway.

The other play area has more seating (one bench and one picnic table) as well as rocks to sit on. I wish there was another swing instead of the four square. The main attraction is one round swing that kids have to wait on for long periods. More of these swings would be great.

Overall, the park seems like it was made to look good in design, but not practical for real life. The play areas are pretty to look at, but do not encourage imagination play and are awkward to use. The entrances to the hut slide are too thin on one side, and the other is difficult for little kids due to the huge gaps in the netting inside the hut. The metal slide is fun. Fast, unlike plastic slides. The climbing areas are okay, but don’t hold kids attention long. If the designers wanted to keep the park simple, add more swings and less areas where families need to bring equipment to use (four square, Gaga pit).

The “butterfly garden” is underwhelming. It is June and there are only two types of flowers. There is no grass, all clover and weeds. The park is kept clean and sidewalks clear. It isn’t a bad park, just has more potential than what it currently is.

Really nice playground. The equipment is huge and in good condition and there is alot to do. The park itself is very clean and seems well maintained. There are benches to sit on and nice grassy areas to sit or play ball. Hoping to visit again when I'm in the area.
Huge park Pefect for pets, kids, and Great Soccorfield. Grow up in this Park😁

Good sized fields , maintained well. Great for a little walk through via the foot path running across the park. Not too much parking at the exact site.

An oasis in our midst. At this entrance, there is a nice bridge going over the Muddy Branch stream. This is a well run park, with basketball, soccer, and tennis courts. The park is heavily with trees and wildlife. It has a nice paved looping path, with multiple entrances. This is part of the Muddy Branch stream, that can take walkers all the way to the Potomac River.
Nice little neighborhood park- Basketball courts, playground, baseball field.
This park has got nice and clean Trail used by many nearby residents. We can see lot of people in the evening and some in the noon. Never heard any safety issues so far. Its a pleasant walking watching all those Trees and squirrels.

Looks like this park was designed keeping the adults and kids under the age of 5 in mind. The trails/pathways are good for those who want to get their step counts but the play ground for the kids is very basic.

horrible. metal slide, which will be unusable when hot, too few places to play, and whatever are here are just too hard for kids. It may be ok for walking, but absolutely unusable for kids. Skip this and go to playground in soccerplex.
Nice park. There always seems to be trash around there after an event. Clearly, they're not holding anyone accountable after reserving it. Nice amenities for birthday parties, etc... Though.
Great community park, it has a parking lot, kid's area, basketball courts, a baseball diamond and a building for small events that can be rented from the city of G'burg.

There was & is no parking. The nearest is, sure a few minutes, but as a new park being advertised as so family friendly, new and aimed at several ages, this was the furthest from it.
Two tiny areas of play equipment aimed at 8 months-2 years. The one slide they did have, after navigating through a very small enclosure with wide open netting. The suares were at least 8-16 inches apart. Then the child gets to the slide. A sheet of steel, I thought the burn marks on a child legs from a DMV Summer went out in the 80's. (Yes, I still have some of my own :-)
It will be a nice walking area, nice paths, in 5-10 years when those samplings mature to provide shade.

Disappointed

The newest park in Gaithersburg is absolutely a waste of space-time-energy and a total disappointment. The only challenge kids will have at this park is just trying to share the three items that this huge park has provided for them. AstraZeneca should not be proud of what they have accomplished here. Grade: D+

To have a pleasant time for your family go to ::
Mattie JT Stepanek , Greenbriar or Fallsgrove parks and playgrounds
Use to be awesome before they built the new playground, now it's like every other boring park. Nice lapping path around it though
I Practice over here for soccer. Only problem is that you don't know when the field will be occupied by soccer games.

Hey everyone my family and I love this place, very nice to come and take a nice walk, If you like eating out this is the place you want to be at. Very chill, to spend time and relax.
It's a nice place to bring kids to play, part of the park also have beach sand and kids love it. This pictures are the one I took today while I was walking around the park.
It's my neighborhood park, and one of the reasons for me to stay back in the area.
A totally wonderful, unexpected surprise in the heart of Old Town Gaithersburg. The perfect place to take your kids to play and let their imagination grow.
We went there after rain in a warm spring time. I can’t tell it is one of my best feeling be out with my kids. The place is a bit quite and small, with lot of information to learn. Don’t miss out! We will definitely visit the place again and we recommend for everyone. The only thing concerning is a parking. It is street parking.
This is such a cute park and it’s full of hands on play spaces, very well thought, with lots of details and many things to discover. I have been here a few times and I love the fact that I always discover something new.
Great local park...now it is much better that they added a portable 🚻

It's a good place to hang out, but there isn't a lot to do except pokemon go.
Turn right on Ridge for the playground and parking. Address GPS gives leads you to houses. There is a big brown sign you can see from Allison. Go that way.

Also only 1 pokestop.

I was babysitting and I took the child I was caring for to this park. He seemed fine with it, but I didn't like the fact that when we got there, there was two teens sitting up on the slide making out and the boy I was caring for was unable to go down the slide because of those kids. I had to ask them to move, just so the little boy could come back down. I wouldn't recommend it, unless there were some kind of security put in place plus it needs to be cleaned up.
Nice place for a gathering, It has a play area for kids also.
nice options
Ok during the day. Not safe at night. Potentially dangerous for the kids.
