Went here to try out the new Pickleball courts.

They were decent but there should definitely be better lighting for playing at night.

As of May 4 2024, splash pad is not on, despite the hours on the sign saying it should be. Playground is fine. We tried to have a picnic lunch but the flies overran us.

This park should be more cared for clean and landscaped. It has a lot of potential and is located in a good area in The center of McAllen. I was reading it was built in 2009 with a 700k invested in this park. City of Mcallen please take good care of this park.

Aside from the great slides and jungle gyms , I got to say that what I'm most amazed by is the restrooms. They always have toilet paper and soap to wash your hands. That for me gives it a 5 star rating .

2 playgrounds: 1 for up to 4 years old and in bad shape, need some maintenance…
1 up to 12 years old brand new!!!
The police department is just in front, so it’s very safe lol

I really enjoy walking my dog at this park. It is well kept and I have never had any problems with other dogs being loose. My son and his friends will play basketball for hours. The splash area is also nice; especially during the hot season.

Great park, incredible walking paths, and they just got some brand new playgrounds that are fantastic! The bathrooms however are really lacking. They are not just dirty, they are disgusting. The sink is temperamental, and only works when it wants to. If they fixed the bathrooms and kept up with them, this would be the perfect park.

They updated the playground, and it's looking really nice. The grass and other plants and trees are well kept.

One of the safest parks you will find anywhere. The proximity to the Mcallen police station makes it a great spot to take your kids.
Today we were here to revitalize some of the park. There were many groups enjoying the nice weather... a yoga group, a church group and a mommy group.
Bummer this place is always locked up so the community cannot always enjoy the fields or the rink.

Maybe it’s a liability thing but sad to see families roll up to the fence then turn around.

For soccer leagues and roller hockey…works fine.
Run into issues with the gates not being open.

Place has a TON of potential. Hope McAllen realizes how special the pavilion is to the hockey & skate community

Park was clean and well maintained. The central play system is brand new and the mulch around it has been replaced by artificial turf.

It's a nice park where you can walk or bike around their trail, there's a volleyball sand court, a water park and some bench's. My only complaint is the park is closed and has been for awhile with no ETA doesn't look like anything is wrong with it other than the pile of dirt.

All around McAllen has great parks. My family particularly loves Zinnia because it is a smaller park it is not as busy. Also this park has grills! There are multiple park tables with shade and a grill around the park. There is something for each one of my kids, from my little ones all the way up to my high schoolers.
Pleasant quiet park and very clean

Cool place to rent for a get together such as a BD, reunion or holiday celebration. It has restrooms, bleachers, large pit, play area and "kitchen".

I continue to be dazzled with the parks and rec options here in McAllen. Bill Schupp Park is beautiful! Well maintained, fragrant and beautifully kept plants, and pet friendly. Great for a family day out or an outdoor workout.

A historical site in McAllen, pretty much at the center of downtown. Unfortunately often occupied by people that have been displaced. You can go for a walk and check the surrounding historic buildings in the area.

Not a walker's park, but is rented enough for private events that they have a permanent sign that rotates when closed.

Great space, baseball parks, municipal pool available to the public, Mchi high school next by, and police station.
This parks has hardly any parking spaces we needed to cross a major road Buddy Owen's to be able to park and with a toddler. Also needs canopies for the players at least. If I could give it a zero star I would. I don't understand if they have many fields for just like 100 parking spaces but they do charge.
The fields are well-maintained and the lighting is good in the evenings. I'm thankful for the effort the McAllen has put into making these wonderful parks for the kids.

I was very uncomfortable with the fact that so many older people go without children and sit there in their vehicles or just hang out smoking etc.. awkward.

Small square downtown park adjacent to food truck park, bus station. Walked around the perimeter on the sidewalk.
Has an old school bandstand.

Trees! It actually has trees!
The RGV is in need of some tree-loving-planting peeps', so in comparison this park is different than the city norm' of cement and chopped palms. It's a comfortable size park.
I grew up climbing on all these trees, and now my sons are sharing the same. The farm canals that were transformed into a surprise "sunken garden" are alright, have been neglected garden-care wise throughout the years. The landscaping is more of trimming, cutting, not so much nurturing wise, but still better than nothing. I understand things like so cost money.
It's a hot spot for people to do their stair exercises, or for kids to be in awe over the humble water fountain display. The "sunken garden" would be a superb place to play guitar, music, by the design of it, and their miniature stage that is half a water pool.- so keep that in mind for any musician peeps. Also it is a popular place for a money-free, pleasant date, so I've noticed the couples (in a none creepy way, lol).
It's not "Beverly Hills", but for the Valley it's good. They keep the grass mowed well, after establishing the sprinkler usage that was needed. I hope they don't butcher the trees rooted there, the curvy branches are unique and provide shade in unique angles. The play ground is in need of new wood chips, or whatever material they prefer. And the swings need WD40 oil, lol, the squeak can be heard across the bridge, jk! But that is minor stuff. Great area to stroller walk exercise. We enjoy this place, I hope Valley folks will respect it and take care of it by picking up their, or other's, trash.

Very clean place. Has a small pavilion with metal tables with seats. Several metal trash cans. A small room with a fridge and AC unit. Grills outside with 2 restrooms male and female. A small playground, big grassy lot were you can put a moon jump, there's a courtyard, and a small area where you can put a piñata.

I grew up next to this park. Basically grew up at it! Its changed so much over the years. But its still a nice little park. Surrounded by a small quiet neighborhood. It has a basketball court and tennis court on one side and 2 separate playground units. One for toddlers and such the other much bigger. Swings too. For babies and adults. And a little sidewalk that winds around the park. Theres also BBQ pits and tables for parties. So many great memories!

Went here for some soccer tournament. Bathrooms stink, bring your food and water, they have trash cans so that's good. They have plenty of trash cans, the layout is good and the park is attractive. Several parking lots easy to get too, but....one entrance. So pick the parking on the north side or you will be walking a very long way if you choose any other parking lot. Bad logistical planning and stinky restrooms. Target is really close by so that is a plus
Awesome park n swimming pool...we love it here♡

The playground equipment needs a cosmetic touch up, as you can tell, things look weathered and outdated. I really like how low one of the play structures is, it is perfect for younger/smaller toddlers. And then the other one is perfect for bigger children. If the equipment was newer or touched up I would have given 5 stars because this is a great playground.
