0/10 experience! Came here after a life changing trauma looking for support (while also struggling w an ed) and the floor manager herself told me in “community” that inpatient wasn’t for connection or peer support but for dealing with triggers by yourself (quietly but never alone). We were not allowed to talk to one another about anything slightly negative or controversial. not too loud! not so sad! I only saw my case manager/theraspist 3.5 times and usually only to tell me I was dressed inappropriately or my drawing were too scary. Food was DISGUSTING, worse than a tv dinner. Don’t go here unless you have a very good support system/family/therapist/psychiatrist that listen to you and you prefer to keep to yourself. Most people felt aggressive and undereducated and uninterested is thinking of patients as individuals. EXTREMELY WHITEEE and single minded, felt unaware of any where outside the suburbs. A lot of people there seemed like very sick, competitive treatment cyclers. I think back on my time at treatment here and view it as neglect and trauma.
When our nutritionist suggested in patient treatment and ERC, I googled it and I ended up here reading the reviews. I'm guessing that's why you're here too. I wish I trusted the nutritionist recommendation. And I wish I hadn't done looked at the reviews beforehand. I think the reviews reflected people's struggle with an eating disorder and much less the care at ERC itself. The decision to admit my daughter to residential care was hard enough. I was looking for a reason to NOT do it. And reading the reviews almost gave me that excuse.

We've been out of ERC for about a year, and we are still in recovery. Things are improving, but the victories are incremental when I'd hoped for something immediate and dramatic. If you are looking at this, you are here for a reason. I wish you the best of luck with your recovery. Please take care of yourself. Understand that it will be hard. Understand that recovery is hard and it will require a commitment from you. ERC can help, but they really need to to see that you have a problem and you want to get better.

I don't think ERC was perfect. It felt a bit corporate, there was high staff turnover at lower levels, and communication wasn't the greatest at the beginning. But they genuinely cared about my daughter. They are more responsible than anyone else for the progress that she's made. Some of the rigidity, rules, etc. It's hard but necessary.
I highly recommend ERC at Northbrook. The staff treated my child with dignity, and took wonderful care of her. ERC does an excellent job educating the family. As a caregiver, I was given extensive 1:1 counseling and nutrition education so that we could continue on the path of recovery when my child returned home. It's so scary to admit your child to residential care, but I'm glad I did it. I encourage caregivers to seek the highest level of care that your child needs. My child has been home and in recovery for 8 months. Don't lose hope! Things can get better!
ERC Northbrook absolutely saved my daughter’s life. We brought our 14 year old here after having no luck at another residential treatment center and found a caring, professional and supportive staff. Leaving our child to basic strangers in an out of state facility was one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do as parents, but it was the right thing to do, they gave us back our happy, healthy daughter. We can’t say enough good things about our experience at ERC, the care they gave our daughter, the support and education they gave my husband and I is priceless. They have an extensive support system for caregivers both during the stay and after discharge. I highly recommend ERC and will sing their praises to my last breath.
I was at the erc northbrook for 8 weeks in res, 4 weeks at php, and 4 weeks at iop. I have to say I did have some conflicts with some of the staff and peers there, but overall we resulted into good relationships. I have made so many amazing friends and relationships between the staff and peers, and we had so much fun saying all these random verses, playing table games, and just enjoying what is around us. It was extremely hard for me especially in php and transitioning back to school, but my treatment team(s) both made sure that I was ready and willing to recover. My amazing treatment team which is my therapist(Grace), dietitian(Abby), and psychiatrist(Dr. Aldridge), they couldn’t have helped me more, due to their compassion, reminders, and love towards me. I really have made good memories at that place with everyone I met. It did get a little sentimental at the end when I was departing from erc, but I just know that they will always be there with me. Right now I’m striving and try my very best even if it’s tough to stay recovered and keep pursuing my dreams. I thank everyone who has supported me and guided me along the way in my recovery journey!
I debated writing this review. There are some good people working here, but they nearly killed our daughter. Read the other negative reviews. The one size fits all approach here was an absolute disaster for us. If you have a younger child, look into family based treatment (FBT). I wish the providers we were working with prior to coming here steered us toward FBT instead of recommending this disaster.

Caroline has been a great resource for me over the past year. She has been open and understanding to all that I have going on medically and mentally. She has helped me improve my mental health in ways I never thought possible! Truly grateful for all this practice has done for me!
SunCloud knows their stuff! They really helped our family. The staff is so compassionate and knowledgeable about all things addiction or mental health related. Highly recommend!

Inspire was great with connecting me with the right therapist and I can't recommend their services enough! I'm going on three years with Rachel and she has been tremendous helping me navigate big life changes.
One remarkable aspect of Compass is their commitment to continuously expanding their program offerings. They go above and beyond to ensure that individuals have access to a diverse range of mental health resources and services.

Their dedication to expanding their program is driven by a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges individuals face. Compass actively seeks out new modalities, techniques, and approaches to address a wide range of mental health concerns.
We could not be more grateful for the team at ERC who worked with our adolescent daughter. Eating Disorders are difficult, confusing. and frightening. But, everyone at ERC was kind, professional, understanding, and patient. They answered our questions, time and time again. They listened closely, cared for our daughter on a personal level, and educated us every step of the way. The resources shared with our family were endless. Our daughter felt safe and was given the tools to head toward recovery. EDs are HARD. Hard stuff- but we would chose ERC time and again. Simply grateful!
We highly recommend ERC Northbrook. They are inclusive and family friendly. Our child was medically underweight and they knew exactly what was needed to gently support her progress. The structure of residential was comforting to our daughter and the staff were incredible. Our daughter made so much progress in her time in residential and that continued during partial hospitalization. The training programs for families and weekly family nutrition and therapy sessions were exactly what we needed. It's not an exaggeration to say we knew nothing about ED and we were pretty naive about what our child needed. ERC taught us so much and provided hands on skills that we are using daily to support our child. We will be eternally grateful to ERC for helping our child find her way back to herself.
Compass Health Center is an oasis in times of turmoil and struggle. If you are seeking collaborative and comprehensive mental health care for yourself or a loved one, Compass truly empowers their patients with the skills necessary to living an emotionally and mentally healthy life.

From the moment you walk through the front doors, you're greeted with a welcoming atmosphere and a compassionate staff that hears, respects, and supports their patients through their individual mental health journey. It cannot be overstated the impact Compass has had on their patients and their continued dedication to the mental health of their community.
I am incredibly proud to share my first-hand experiences of the profound impact Compass Health Center’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Psychiatry services have had in Illinois. Whether through our in-person or virtual platforms, the transformative changes we witness daily in our patients' lives is both humbling and inspiring.

One of the defining qualities of Compass's PHP/IOP is our ability to deliver compassionate, customized, and evidence-based care in a non-hospital setting. This model allows patients to remain engaged with their home and community, fostering vital connections that contribute to more effective long-term outcomes. Our beautiful facilities, such as the one at Northbrook, are designed to provide an environment that is warm and welcoming- even the space itself is designed to support our patients on their paths forward.

The care offered at Compass Health Center is wide-ranging and comprehensive, catering to individuals ages 5 and up. Our multidisciplinary services include a variety of therapy options, such as group, individual, family, and art therapy. We also provide crucial psychiatric services like medication management and adherence. Our Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners and Clinical experts- are among the best around and I trust deeply in the work they do for our patients and their families.

One aspect we take immense pride in is our commitment to speed to care. We strive to assess patients on the same day or next day following initial contact. This prompt response helps people avoid unnecessary waiting periods in the emergency room and ensuring patients receive timely care means that you or your loved one will have an increased clinical outcomes.

Our expert team, is adept at managing various specialties. Whether it's mood & anxiety, trauma, OCD, bipolar disorder, school refusal, or the coexistence of mental health and substance use issues, our team is prepared to provide exceptional care.

Compass Health Center shines brightly in the realm of mental health care, not only in Northbrook but across all of our locations including Chicago, Oak Brook and virtually available throughout all of Illinois. We distinguish ourselves with our swift response, expert-level treatment, and remarkable flexibility. Our PHP and IOP programs are tailored to those who require more support than what traditional outpatient therapy offers, making it a suitable option for those transitioning from a residential or inpatient treatment setting, or for those who need more frequent therapeutic contact and medication management to support their mental health.

Compass Health Center exemplifies the power of comprehensive, patient-centered mental health care. We bridge the gap between outpatient and inpatient treatment, providing a safety net for those who may otherwise be underserved in the traditional healthcare system. PHP and IOP are transformative solutions that deserve much more attention.

If you or a loved one is considering a PHP/IOP program, Compass Health Center, with its in-person and virtual programs throughout Illinois, receives my highest recommendation. Here, you will find more than just support; you'll find an empathetic, professional, and dedicated team committed to your wellbeing and mental health advancement.

Our programs at Compass offer a highly personalized, comprehensive approach to mental health care. This profound dedication to assisting patients in their personal growth and change truly makes a difference. As part of this incredible team, I have seen the extraordinary impact we have had on the lives of those we serve. I am confident that you too will appreciate the high quality of care and enduring support you receive at Compass Health Center.
If you are needing help with mental health, addiction, or an eating disorder, Suncloud can change your life. I went there because I had been under Dr. Kim’s care before , and I knew her program could help me. You are treated as an individual and with compassionate and care.

They treat you as a comprehensive whole so not just one diagnosis at a time, but if you have multiple they create a safe space to recover with support. Going back to treatment was hard, but it changed my life and has given me the ability to be present in my life, with my family and have true peace and contentment. They helped show me how important self- care, community, and support is. I am so grateful today.

If you want to get better and are feeling alone go to Suncloud. Your life will get better and you’ll find hope.
Compass Health Center truly provides the community with high levels of mental health care. The Compass team is nurturing, caring, and goes above and beyond to ensure that each individual is met with support and kindness. At Compass you will receive exceptional treatment that makes a difference.
october 2021 i hit the lowest point in my entire life... many times I thought I hit rock bottom but bottom only kept going deeper. my eating disorder had robbed me of basic human decency and any will to be alive. i hated myself and my life for so long I didn't see another way out.

when I reached out to suncloud i thought "how could this place ever help." I had been to other treatment centers, and none I felt like really saw me as a person. i was so worn down, barely saw a reason to live, and my therapist was going to drop me if I didn't reach out to any centers.

so I called. I told the man on the phone I just needed some help. please. I told him a few things and he said "I think you'll fit right in." they fought to get me there and sounded like they actually gave a hoot.

I went to residential and I was not easy. i put up a fight. but suncloud fought for me. they gave me a voice when I didn't have one. they gave me the discipline I so DESPERATELY needed. but they were also so kind and understanding. they looked at me as a person first and mentally ill second. they made me unravel all the reasons why I was not eating or treating myself with respect.

suncloud gave me the building blocks to make a life for myself outside of the misery I had created. over a year later and I have found full recovery. I am free. I know my weight and food is not tied to who I am as a person.

thank u suncloud, the amazing people I met along the way, and the staff. i would not ever be in the place I am today if it wasn't for their help. I now work at an recovery center helping others who were in some of the same places I once was. I can only hope to spread even a little of the magic that suncloud spread to me.
SunCloud Health offers a unique opportunity for its clients. A music therapist & music teacher working alongside their clinical staff allows for a rare, highly engaging experience for their patients to experience the benefits music plays in healing many forms of addiction and emotional trauma––A variety of musical instruments are shared, offering the clients an opportunity to share how the music makes them feel—gaining higher insight into themselves and the world around them. Native American flute lessons are available to those interested in talking lessons––This particular instrument, due to its beautiful sound and low learning curve, allows people to learn how to play in a relatively short period, helping people gain confidence and a healthy means of getting outside of themselves and into a meditative state. Kudos to SunCloud for offering alternative approaches to healing and self-care.
I have been to Compass in Northbrook three times and had an AMAZING experience every time. It's very skill-based and group-oriented. I've been to several other PHP programs in the area, but Compass is the one that has truly helped me integrate coping skills into my daily life to deal with my depression, anxiety, and substance use. Any treatment center can be overwhelming at first, especially when the treatment model is heavy in skills, but I've learned more healthy and effective ways to handle my symptoms. Thank you to Compass and my entire care team for helping me live my life again - with confidence that I have the tools and knowledge to do so.
I had the opportunity to spend a week a SunCloud Health learning about their programs and what they offer those struggling with eating disorders, food addiction, mood disorders and substance use disorders. To say I was incredibly impressed was an understatement. They are now offering a virtual evening IOP program which is such a needed service for those trying to navigate evenings, which are often spent alone and tend to be the most difficult and challenging time of day for many. This is such a needed service and I just want to acknowledge SunCloud Health for the amazing work they are doing. It's ground breaking stuff!! Dr. Kim and her staff are recovery rockstars.
I’m so grateful for Suncloud’s outstanding out patient care. My recovery did not end after treatment. Kimmy Haynes has been a great extension when I left programming. She has provided me with continued support and resources which gave me a better chance at long term recovery. Her Alumni group was a great stepping stone after treatment. To this day I still reach out to her for additional support. I go to her for specific program meetings, service work opportunities and moral support.
Suncloud, in my opinion, provides the complete package!

Compass was incredible. I cannot sing there praises enough. Incredible communication, companionate and dedicated staff, loving, fun and safe environment. Every time I drove the 45 minutes to therapy, I knew it was worth it. I would have driven 3 hours for their help. My son's improvement was almost instantaneous. Their diagnosis was lightning quick and treatment started immediately. I am not exaggerating when I say it was a life changing experience. I can't imagine where we would be without their intervention.
Joining the team at SunCloud was one of the best decisions of my life. Patients and their families are our highest priority. I have never seen a staff work so hard or go above and beyond. SunCloud has hired the best of the best. People with empathy, understanding and a great work ethic!

After 6 weeks of treatment (without noticeable results), Dr. Poprawski and her staff didn’t bother to follow up with me. Rather disturbing. Technicians at Northbrook office were very nice, tho, and very efficient.
My 6 year old son was recently diagnosed with generalized anxiety and CBT was recommended. Inspire accepts our insurance and has a therapist that works with youth 5 years and up. Our first appointment was disorganized. The therapist does not incorporate toys or play into sessions for a six year old. Our second session she double booked our reserved weekly time slot. She briefly apologized and said she would call and didn’t bother to acknowledge my son. We will not be going back.
SunCloud is a place where the staff truly cares about their patients well being and recovery. I interned at SunCloud and my experience there was incredible. I learned so much about integrated care, which is what they provide at SunCloud, where each patient is treated for their multiple mental health issues at the same time. This is a wonderful model of care. I personally watched many patients work through the program and improve their lives greatly. The group therapy work creates amazing bonds between patients and personal discovery. I am so grateful for the time I got to spend at SunCloud. If you want to be committed to recovery and are looking for a place to get help, SunCloud is a great place to consider.
I really tried to give this company a chance, but it just wasn’t it. The whole time it felt like they cared more about my money then they did counseling and helping me. It started off with trying to set up a first appointment. Jackie took a really long time to even respond and at one point, she said I hadn’t emailed her. I had emailed her a few days prior, and my mom had as well. Then we finally got it set up. They charged us the full price until our insurance would cover it (not an issue) but then when my insurance had, they double charged us for my session and the full price instead of the price we’d be paying with insurance.

After all of that was figured out, I started regularly having therapy sessions. My therapist was super nice and definitely not a bad person, but it felt like I was getting nowhere. We wouldn’t follow through with techniques to help (we talked for like 10 min about a solution one time and then would never talk about it again), and I felt like my problems were invalidated instead of helped some of the time. I felt nervous to come into therapy because when I did try to bring up things that bothered me, it felt like I was almost blamed for it, even though it wasn’t a problem and I just wanted to bring it up.

The last thing that made me end up leaving was the communication. From the beginning we can see it wasn’t great to start off with, but it never really got better. I scheduled an appointment a week ahead through a work cellphone. My therapist used the number to cancel sessions or reschedule all the time and I was always cool with it and responded pretty quick every time. She hadn’t responded or even looked at my message and when the day had come around, she told me she scheduled someone else then. We were also charged when I haven’t even had a session in like two weeks.

All in all, the communication, costumer service, and how the company holds itself is not really my favorite. It ended up causing more stress, instead of helping me with the stress and problems I already do have.
The billing process at Inspire Counseling is terrible. The customer service is very poor and biller is rude. Be careful and check all your statements and what is charged to your card. They do not wait for insurance benefits on claims, instead they charge the same rate for each visit regardless of whether you've met your deductible or not. While the counselors may be providing good service, the billing person and their policies are really poor.
Inspire Counseling is in a class of its own! The customer service is great and provides excellent information regarding insurance, therapists, and any general question you may have. When I spoke to Jackie Roberts, all of my questions were answered. Inspire matches their clients to therapists that will be the best fit for what the client would like to work on. This practice is always striving to provide the best service they possibly can and it shows!
Inspire is unbelievable! When seeking counseling you want to approached warm atmosphere as well was warm employees. Everyone I have encountered at inspire has made me feel like family. I can’t say enough good things about Inspire!
Working for such an amazing practice and such talented therapists has taught me so very much. One of the greatest parts of my job is seeing the support, dedication and genuine care for every client that chooses Inspire, through the unparalleled work of such a gifted leader, clinicians and support staff.

When you are in the presence of such amazing work taking place, it INSPIRES both clients as well as staff to be the best they can be. Honored and proud to be a part of a team that serves the community with both professionalism and incredible dedication.
Horrible customer service and I will NEVER use them. I tried to schedule an appointment and Jackie Roberts wouldn't check my insurance. She said they cant unless I have an appointment which i was trying to make. She said or else "I would be checking insurance all day". I could clearly hear her kids in the background. Not a credible business.
