Beautiful park surrounded by lots of plants, gorgeous architecture, and walkable paths. The play ground is fantastic for young kids and older kids with a splash area in the middle. There are not low entry points for the playground, but kids 2+ will love it! Plenty of shade and seating

Good urban green spot to bring your pets or kids for a break. Depending on time of day will impact the amount of others you run into. At 6 am it was pretty quiet and foot traffic really started to pick up around 7 am.

Most dogs are trained not to relieve themselves on concrete.
Amazing beautiful park. Blue waters , blue sky - a must visit on a nice sunny day.

I couldn’t believe the dog piles all over the gravel. Must have been fifty poops neglected to be picked up. I’d hate to see those peoples homes.

I stopped by this park this morning for my dog's walk since Millennium Park is not pet-friendly (I'm glad this exists!). It is central to all the high-rise apartments and condos, and the surrounding area has coffee shops and restaurants, which are also within walking distance. The park is small and has a designated gated dog park where your dogs can run off-leash with other dogs. The pet owners are responsible and monitor their dogs to make sure they are friendly to other dogs. While I only stayed here for less than twenty minutes due to the high wind and chill, I enjoyed my time with my dog! I highly recommend this city park for those with pets.

Does the designer of this park even own a dog?

How can you make a park for dogs that is fully concrete? Did you ever notice dogs get excited over concrete? They love grass, soil, trees, NATURE.

Plus natural grass and soil is self cleaning; if they go pee nature takes care of it, when concrete will just leave it out there to stink.
Nice and long which means pups can run to their hearts content. Plus they have poop bags for tubes when you run out 👏🏻
Great park that is huge! Only downside is that there’s mulch and my pups have to be wiped clean under their nails and paws everytime I come back inside from here
We are here for the Jazz Institute's concert featuring Julius Tucker Trio. An urban oasis park!

Definitely such a beautiful and relaxing place. When I was passing through on the way to Navy Pier I stopped in here for a quick break and to relax.
It is small, unlike other dog parks, but it has artificial grass and a dog agility training set. Not hot because covered with tall plants and buildings. Close to the goddess cafe.

We enjoyed the quieter environs of Lakeshore East Park compared to nearby Maggie Daley and Millennium Parks. There are curved, paved walking paths and nicely landscaped grounds with trees and planted flower beds which were full of tulips in full bloom during our recent visit. These were beautiful to see at this time of year. You'll also find traditional children's playground, dog friendly areas and park benches to sit and enjoy the park.
Great place! My dog was happy to play with other dogs. Very neat place. You can see that theu care about the visitors.

Exhibit Dog Park is a wonderful “Dog Run”, open to the public, very roomy for any dog to run around and play ball/fetch or climb a doggy slide or jump through hoops. They also provide poop bags & disposal bins, which allows the place to stay clean. Great Dog Run for the neighborhood.

This is the best dog park in the city. It’s big, there are trees and not just cement, like most dog parks in the city. In the summer, there’s a dog water fountain. The dog owners are great and responsible. My dog loves going there. We moved out of the neighborhood and still go there when we have time.

Beautiful little park, a hidden gem in the heart of the concrete jungle, where you can enjoy some green, trees, flowers and even a dog park! Free parking at Marinos.

Amazing park! Very well maintained! You can go there at any time (day and night) it's super safe!
They usually have events during the summer (concerts, movies, fair).
There's also a small dog park.
It's a more extended dog park and a park for people.
It's near the highway; it is loud, but not that too loud.

Bring your water for your dogs.
The water fountain is not working with any other water source.

A mix of sand and cement flooring and lots of trees.
This dog park is nice for a large city the fence height is about 4 feet or a little less but solidly constructed. There’s a nice water fountain for the dogs to drink out of it seems like most dogs here are trained or have been to training this is the third time we’ve been here on this visit but there’s not a ton of room for them to run. We have 2 vizslas; this is not much bigger than the typical backyard of a suburban house.
Good if you have a bigger dog. Unfortunately, ours is 8.5lbs and can (and did!) easily squeeze through the railings.

Good spot to take your pup to the restroom. Really close to downtown if you are staying there like we did. Our hotel was per friendly but no spot for our dog to use the restroom so this park helped us a bunch. The park is clean and the double doors are a nice touch.

It's mostly clean and they do provide a water fountain but an unshaded concrete dog park is just crazy!
Standard dog park with mixed small and large dogs. Mostly cement (which is fine because grass doesn't survive with that many dogs and becomes a dust/mud bowl).

A hidden gem of a dog run nestled in the city. I'd describe it more as a dog run than a park, as it's fairly small. It's a great spot though for a dog to get some off leash running around in this neighborhood.
Another "not my first time here, but first Google Review" for this place! Stumbled upon this clean park/neighborhood years ago when parking at The Tides. Many tall buildings - businesses, or living areas, surrounding the park. There are many families and kids but very quiet from the hustle and bustle of the city and has a hidden gem, private-feel. Cute shops, restaurants, and a Mariano's within the quarters. Will be around!
One of the best dog parks in the WEST Loop.

My little doggy loves the bone shaped pool.

I just love this place. I’m so grateful to people who built and maintaining it. Spring, summer and autumn there are flowers: tulips, magnolias, roses, etc. I am so lucky to live near with this park.
Great dog park walking distance from hotels and always has dogs. Very clean and well maintained.
I love this park, and I love that people can bring there dogs and actually let them run around and play with other dogs. Beautiful clean area as well. Very well maintained. I go all the time
Even living a far walk away, I still take my dog here nearly every day. The dogs are usually friendly and well socialized, the owners are friendly but not over the top.
The only two minor issues I have with the park are:
-I wish the dog park had a non-concrete/gravel area maybe with grass
-Some owners can be a bit rude if another dog (usually mine lol) “steals” their ball. From my perspective if you bring a ball into a public park, then that is a risk you take.
Regardless, the park is great and deserves 5 stars!

It's a public dog park. I find it cute and enjoyable but it's unsupervised so just know there is no one controlling dogs except owners some of whom are more attentive than others. Dogs are animals and can be unpredictable. My dog loves it. But i keep an eagle eye out.

A hidden gem for dogs living in limited spaced River North apartments. I take my pooch here quite often for her to socialize with other dogs. Fellow Dog owners are friendly too.

Nice little park for a quick romp. Most dogs are well behaved with attentive owners. I wish they had more fencing though because I’ve seen a lot of small dogs squeezing through the gate railing!!
It’s the dog equivalent of taking your child to an amusement park.

Once my dog jumped on one of the park benches and got his front paw stuck. It was very scary and he was crying in a lot pain. Luckily, I was close by to assist and prevent him from jumping off and breaking his leg.

Overall, I give this park a 4/5 star rating.

Happy to have discovered this in River North. It’s small, but long. Good for fetch. There seems to be some unnecessary structures in it that none of the dogs use.
Such a lovely park. Well cared for. I just live to come here for walks with my fur baby. Popular with families and children its a paradise amidst the concrete towers. These days check out a million Tulips in bloom here . I must have taken a 100 pics at least. Sharing just a few.😊

Mostly concrete so it's not muddy after rain/snow. It's also in the sun in the afternoon and right on the river so it's nice! No trash cans in the fenced area so lots of people bag poos and forget to take them when they leave.

This isn't a dog park it's a park for adult and children. Dogs don't really have place to use bathroom. Dogs a place to play that's it.

This is by far one of chicagos best dog parks. No membership required free to the public, next to a tennis court so the dog park is always stocked with balls for the dogs to play, they have kiddie pools for the dogs, running water. Place is super clean, people are super friendly.

Just have to watch out for this ignorant lady who let's her dog hump other dogs and then gets mad when you pull her dog off your dog. If you can't control your dog please do everyone a favor and don't bring them to any dog park.

Other than that this is a great park for any pup.
I love how there's a nice size doggy park where they can play with other dogs there's also water for them to drink and a place to do there business with easy to pick it up

This dog park is quite unique. The seating is ample (for humans) and the dog park has sufficient space for the doggos to run and play. There is a water fountain and water bowls so each species can remain hydrated. This little hidden gem is a lovely surprise in one of the greatest parks in America.

Pretty nice park! Not much to complain about. There are some owners that don’t pick up their dogs waste but I don’t think it’s intentional - there’s a back area of gravel where most dogs will go to do their business but if you’re not paying attention, it’s easy to miss them because of the ledge. It hasn’t been a big issue however. There are usually bags available so many owners will pick up as much as possible. Keep an eye out for broken pieces of tennis balls that seem to be commonplace here however.
Great dog park! Tons of area to walk your pup and a nice enclosed areas to let him/her run free and play with other dogs. And there us a doggy drinking fountain too!
Now this is a dog park. It is a little slice of paradise. Beautifully set in a shady spot with a water fountain flowing through it and gardens all around! Seems like responsible doggy parents and well behaved dogs of all sizes. Was a little hard to find but locals happily helped in guiding the way.

The uglies dog park ever, I cannot believe they built it that way! Just concrete and rocks in the middle of the dog run? Srlsy? Perfect for dogs getting hurt! What a joke!!! The designer did a terrible job! Do not recommend this dog park at all!

Very nice place with 2 dog run areas one for small dogs one and one for larger ones. Water fountain for dogs. Friendly neighbors always paying attention to their puppies
Smaller dog park that is kept clean and updated. Our dog seems to have a good time here, even though most of the park is cement. The park has a water feature that the dogs can drink out of, but they tend to play in the water feature more than anything. There are a few places for pet owners to sit and relax as they watch their dog. We have been here a few times and never seen any dog fights. The pet owners seem to keep a close eye on their pet and have well behaved dogs.

If you are close it is worth a visit. There is a larger park that surrounds this dog park, so you also have that option to walk your dog if they get bored in the dog area. There is also a pet treat store across the street, so you can get a lot of doggie visits in during one trip.
This is a unicorn location to have some fun with kids, dogs, friends and family. Close of everything but kind of hidden from crowds. Also very special for a nice picnics at the end of the day.

Great dog park in the heart of downtown. Based on my visits with my dog, the other owners seem very responsible. There are more mid and large sized dogs but my little 14 pound Bichon is happy there too.
Great dog park. All the other owners have been very nice to us and our pup when we go

This dog park is very clean and open. There is plenty of space for pups to run around and have fun. Dogs come here all the time so your pup is guaranteed to make some friends. There are a few benches as well as a little concrete wall divider that owners can sit on which is amazing considering some dog parks have no sitting areas. It has a drinking fountain for the dogs and a gravel area for them to do their business. I am a dog walker and bring pups here ALL the time. Definitely my favorite in River North! Plus, it’s right next to a grassy park by the river so it’s very relaxing.
This place is very clean an well kept an the people an dogs are friendly niceee

Just moved to Chicago three weeks ago. I love the park because the people and pups there are super nice! Or maybe it’s just that Chicagoans are nice, good people!!

Wish it was larger and with grass and not pavement...but I get that that would be super expensive to maintain. Just donated a small amount to the South Loop Dog pac peeps, but would give more if this park could be expanded and converted to one like the Fred Anderson one.

It's kind of secluded. Mosquitoes all over, but it's a good size and they have a water fountain, a sprinkler and little pool the dogs can use only gave 3 stars bc of parking. It's difficult to find and a walks away so would not recommend for ppl that need to travel by car

It’s a great space for dogs to run around! It is not as crowded as other dog parks and the layout allows you to keep an eye on your dog at all times. There is easy access to water and they even have a little pool for dogs to use!
We've been coming here for a year and we're so thankful for this place. The dogs are sweet and playful. Great place to let your furry friend run free
What a cute little park! I was in town visiting and needed a park downtown for my dog I was traveling with. This park is small but really adorable and shielded from the noise if the city. Plus there is 30 minute parking available if you are just popping in and out.

The dog park is fenced in with concrete and turf and a cute little water fountain (the photo I attached is not of the fountain in the dog area, it's a fountain my puppers used as her personal pool on the way back to the car). My dog loved it and there was enough room to throw the ball around. There were some bags tied to the fence (I took one) but I think they are put there by kind dog owners. I don't think the park provides them. We forgot ours so I was grateful.

The rest of the park is beautiful with nice paths, and fountains, flowers, some stairs people were working out on and it wasn't super crowded (was there on Sunday around 10am).

GPS had a hard time directing is there, so make sure you are on upper surface roads.
Went to a Meetup at the dog park which was really spacious and lovely. Lots of shade and running water for the dogs. In May, the park was full of GORGEOUS tulips, perfect for posing for photos.

Huge dog park that is one city block long. Great for dogs that want to run. One downside is it can get pretty muddy. Also the gates (on both ends) are not double gated like most dog parks in the city
I learned about Lake Shore East Park through a friend of mine. Upon visiting it for myself, I was in awe at this little hidden gem! Such a lovely and welcoming place for every soul; the young, the old, the romantic, the nature lover, picture-takers (me!), and even for our furry little friends.

This park is surround by marvelously colored flowers, and at a time nearing, such as springtime, there is no better time to begin one's visit. This beautiful park has multiple little water fountains sitting around that can lull anyone to sleep. It has a wide space for children to run free, and still within sights of mommy and daddy. It has a little park for them to play as well.

For those of you who have a child in your furry little friends, there is a small park in the midst of Lake Shore Park that is specifically for dogs and its very well kept. The people that the furry ones take there :-) are as friendly ad they are and the dogs all seem to be well trained to socialize with their counterparts.

One can take a romantic walk there as well. There plenty of shaded and unshaded spots for individuals and small groups to chill. If you are into getting fully relaxed it is nice spot to spread and blanket and take a wondrous nap at Lake Shore East Park. And reading a simple book makes for home for my book lovers.

It is only 10 minutes walk from Maggie Daley Park if you are interested in getting the children to a less crowded place than Maggie Daley Park. Even if it is for a break from the noise of kids play, the kids can continue their play here until all is ready to return to Maggie Daley.

Because it is close to Mariano's and a few more restaurants, Lake Shore Park is the perfect place for lunching :-) if there is such a word for it. He he. Please visit whether you are a tourist or Chicago resident. You will not be disappointed!!!

This place is kinda hidden. I'm sure the residents know where it is, but as a visitor I found it very hard. The park next door is completely closed for lollapalooza, and they won't let you walk in certain areas. And there are no signs indicating where it is from the sidewalk. The google maps walking option gets you there though. They have access to water and some shaded areas as well as places to sit. If it was more visible to passerby I would give it 5 stars.

Our first trip to Grant Bark Park was amazing! We came for a doodle meet up and were so impressed with the double fenced in facilities, the benches and seating options and the added bonus of a hose and kiddie pool for the pups to play in. The dog park is kind of hidden but with two entry points from either Columbus Drive or 11th Street, we will be sure to find our way back!
