If I could do 0 stars I would have! the ticket buying part was easy, but once through the ticket gate it’s a big crowd of close to 300 people.. all pushing to get through a small gate to board the ferry,, in scorching sun.. no shade.. there’s pushing and shoving. absolute horror when you have little kids. No queue system. Half my group was left behind and half boarded.. and then we waited at the island for them to join us 40 mins later.. horrible! Can’t believe this was the case in Canada.. expected better. Never going back.
Absolute mess. We waited in line with literally hundreds of people and got shuffled into a waiting area surrounded by bars and then just missed the 7:55 which meant we had to wait over an hour for the next ferry at 9:05, but they pulled the gate shut to the front of the entrance, which meant that hundreds of people were essentially caged shoulder to shoulder. If anything were to happen there could have been a trampling situation or no escape in case of a dangerous situation. Plus people were drunk and blasting music from giant speakers and smoking pot around children and to top it all off someone puked at the entrance so everyone had to step around it in the mad rush to finally get on the ferry once we were “released.” Nightmare situation is putting it lightly and I cannot believe people were subjected to being caged like that!
I could leave a 0 star if they gave me that option.
Unorganized, you can get stuck on the island for hours just because they don't know how to manage people during rush hours
We wanted to take the boat to return at 9:05, we had to wait for the 10:25 one.
Waste of money and time.
Better to visit on a weekday. Could get extremely busy but the views at night is what it's all about. Make sure you buy tickets online.
We were able to skip the probably hour long queue by buying tickets online, so I recommend doing this. However, once we got through the ticket bit, we waited for 50 minutes to get on the ferry in the scorching sun, about 30 degrees heat and with no shade. To add to this, the waiting area was completely overcrowded - shoulder to shoulder with everyone and had a stranger’s sweat dripping on me. There is no queuing system it is a complete free for all which many people took advantage of by pushing their way through, causing problems for the many people with strollers and small children. Once on the ferry it wasn’t too bad but the island itself was also completely overcrowded. Staff were rude, visitors were rude, there were large queues everywhere. Highly highly DO NOT recommend doing this
Very nice small airport. A variety of restaurants and stores on site. We took the tunnel to the airport.
Everyone was so nice, kind and Helpful.
I loved the experience with the ferry and the view form the restaurant towards the CNN Tower .

One of the best airport experience ever.

Billy Bishop is a unique urban airport that sits at the doorstep of business professionals and Toronto residents. Porter offers convenient, short-haul flights from this location on the Toronto Islands, just minutes from the city’s downtown business and entertainment districts.
Love Billy Bishop. The ease of access and being able to fly into the city center is awesome. Upon arrival, you'll find Air Canada and Porter offer a free bus shuttle service from outside the main doors that will take you to Union Station. From there, you can easily connect to wherever you need to go. Only props fly into this airport which has a total of 11 gates. Security flows well and there are a couple of places to grab a snack, have a beer and purchase some souvenirs.
Excellent small airport, perfect for flying to nearby cities in US and Canada. Much more efficient and quick than Pearson. Too bad the runway extension project is cancelled but you can still fly to Montreal, Halifax, New York, Chicago, Boston etc. from here. Located downtown Toronto, it feels almost like you're taking a private charter.

The centre island ferry dock is the best dock to get off at the Toronto Island. It has the maximum eating, seating and sightseeing options than other docks. Rent a bicycle for single, double or 4 people from the centre island to explore the entire island. The beach at the centre island is also nice. Great place to spend a day for all ages.
Quiet & somewhat desolate but ideal for solitude & scenery. Ideal for running the island’s footpaths. Less crowds, noise & venues off season but with that refreshing ferry ride, it’s the ideal lazy Saturday escape.
Flew Porter for the first time and did find it faltering twice on the timeliness. But the airport is very close to the Toronto downtown area and takes a mere 11 minutes and as much cads to reach. Also, the snacks and drinks are complimentary here as you wait for your delayed flight.overall good..but I'll still prefer a car to go from nyc to Toronto. The view is amazing though. Enjoy it!
Great location with view of Toronto Skyline. It’s a pity that this nice airport is run by Porter.

OMG we had a great day there. We took a ferry to the island for 7$ (2ways) and when you get there, there is a lot to do. Walking, BBQ, Ice cream, swimming, food, Bike, and many more. It's beautifuuuuul. I like to go there more often. You can buy the ticket online so you don't have to wait in line. From the other side you can see Toronto and the view is gorgeous, especially sunset time.
This airport is only business friendly. I was taking a few seniors with me on this trip and only one of them not holding Canadian passport, then we all got questioned about birthplace at check-in counter, as well as not a welcoming attitude from that service agent anyways (even the rest are holding Canadian passports). Also, the check-in service is totally forgotten about the online requested wheel chair until we asked again. Other passengers checked in with business purpose were done way before us.... we will go for other options in future if taking family or relatives from overseas with us. This place is not family friendly airport as per my experience.
Great airport! Easily accessible as it is close to downtown Toronto. There is complimentary coffee and snacks on the waiting area
