This store has a wide variety of Indian sweetmeats, biscuits, treats, spices and frozen goods. I always go for the sweetmeats as I find them to be very tasty. Actually, the variety of sweetmeats is great and made really well which is why I’ve gone back time and again over the years.

The issue I have is the service and behaviour of the staff. Because of the variety, most people (incl me) don’t know what every item is and i ask the person behind the counter. When asking what it is, whether a burfee etc they tend to get annoyed almost like they are doing you a favour, like you are supposed to know each item. Either it’s a communication issue in that they don’t speak English well or they just don’t care because people keep coming back. They should label all their sweetmeats so that customers know what it is instead of getting upset with clients when asking. They also shout across the store, talk over you to others when you are busy.

Great eats, pathetic service.
Purchased, Sweetmeats today for over R 200 and extremely disappointed with the taste.
I went back there because I enjoyed the sweetmeats I had bought in February.
Today , there is a terrible ghee taste , especially in the burfi . Obviously a mass production error ☹️

Considering the selection of delectable treats I found the 3 gentlemen in the store quite uncouth or maybe it's just the way they behave screaming across the store at one another while customers shopping. Definitely no friendly service sad to say

My pancreas loves this place. The pecan halwa and coconut gulag jamun are the winners.

Best sweet meats available in the area. Lots of savory snacks of nice quality and taste are also available. Great service and helpful staff

Walking into this place is like walking into Heaven. The sweet and aromatic scent of authentic sweetmeats is so enticing that I made a special trip the minute I arrived in Johannesburg, and it was my last stop 8 days later when I departed .

They are well known for their Habshi Halwa which is freshly made on site. They have 3 types of Halwa. A variety of Burfee and other delectable delights.

Centrally situated in the heart if Fordsburg, convenient corner location and I have always managed to find parking directly in front of the store.

I carried a cooler bag to keep the treats chilled, as it's freshly made from pure ingredients and to me it has to be eaten cool.

Staff are amazingly helpful and efficient.

Do try their Shalimar brand rice as well.
One of the best places in Johannesburg to find Traditional Indian Sweet meats....store feels a bit crowded....The customer service is pathetic.
