Cool stairs to climb to see some cityscape views and cute houses that are only accessible from the staircase.

Escaleras que comunican North Beach con Telegraph Hill y el camino más rápido para acceder a la Coit Tower.
Beautiful stairs with cool decorations and backyards that line the pathway

Extremely easy to follow trail linking Lands End to the Presidio up to the Golden Gate Bridge, giving stunning views of the bridge and the bay along the way.

Enjoyed the coastal trail. Good workout going up and down the stairs. Beautiful views.

We had fun seeking out this hidden staircase. Scenic, with pretty, interesting flora and cute, quirky houses. Nearby Saturn steps are more of the same.
What a wonderful space SF has created!
It’s is as you can see in US movies! So fun to be here excepted the unsafe area. Indeed, each parking lots in the neighborhood are commonly visited by criminal people who smash the cars windows to steal tourists stuffs. Be very careful.
I ask myself what is the police and authority doing for this? Are we in the USA or in third world? I’m not surprised why people are avoiding these places.

One of the best vista points to view the Golden Gate Bridge. This is the location to capture those Instagram pics of the bridge between the two tree trunks.

There is plenty of parking space. However, several signs posted warning visitors of window smashing and vehicle break-ins.

It's a good alternative spot compared to the visitor center on the opposite side, but I'd recommend both as you get different views of the bridge from both ends.

Nice place to sit and cool off in the shade. Especially with all that up hill 😮‍💨

Wonderful viewing spot for the Golden Gate Bridge. Free parking and an interesting visitor center.
Buon punto panoramico per una visuale diversa sul Golden Gate
I never get bored with the views from here even though I have been here 100s of times. The parking is getting progressively harder and harder here. I wish there was good public transportation to this location from main points within the city. Also this place is increasingly getting very unsafe. Please make sure you don't leave valuables in the car, specially with them visible from outside. Expert thieves can get in and out in seconds. That's amazing, in a perverse way.

One of the best views overlooking the Golden gate. This is where all the locks are on the fence for people that have either passed away or people that got engaged in married it's a lovely sentiment there are locks everywhere that date back years and years ago I recommend at least seeing it one time and bringing locks for yourself and leave one behind.

This is a great spot to take in views of the bridge and old fortification. It's a high spot, so you can see quite far. It wasn't crowded at all, so it's easy to find free parking. There are a lot of good spots for photography.

Pretty roses, grand views and a nice place to stretch your legs! This is one of San Francisco's prettiest staircases.
Tucked out of the way and uncrowded, with excellent views of the bridge and the shoreline along an easy walking path, plus interesting graffiti on the old bunkers. Worth a stop!

Top 10 parks, I didn't notice any night photography of the park so I uploaded some amateur phone shot photos.

Nice enjoyable trail with many smiles along the way from a variety of happy outdoors types both four leg and two legged
Been to San Francisco over 2 dozen times and I finally stumbled across this location. Loved the view point and angle of the bridge. Got some great pictures and caught it all during the golden hour or sunset. Please go, but lock your doors and take your valuables with you. Lots of break ins in the parking lot.

I've been to the Bay Area over 10 times and this is a trail I do each visit. I start by Sutro Baths then follow lands end trail all the way to the birdge. The views are amazing, bird watching is always there, and I've been lucky to see some whale breach twice. Great area!

Steep hikes down to Seal Rocks Beach, but the views are spectacular! Be careful on the slippery rock and around the homeless encampment areas near the main trail.

These stairs consist of 225 sum stairs that make for a very good work out.. its a very calm, area not to much to see but makes for a pleasant walk. These stairs lead to the peoples front doors.

This is probably one of my favorite trails to hike when the weather is nice. It has beautiful scenic views and you wouldn’t know you were in San Francisco except the view of the Golden Gate Bridge gives it away …

Awesome trail. Well maintained. Gentle enough for all ages. Parking could be difficult during weekends. Great views of the ocean, coast, and the bridge. Lots of pelicans flying along the coast. Unfortunately, I heard the Cliff House is closed due to the pandemic.
A verdant oasis of peace, climbing steeply between pretty small houses. If you stand still, you may hear the flutter of a hummingbird hovering near you. Wish they installed a bench where to sit and read. But I also understand why the local residents may not want it, seeing that even this hidden gem was not immune from the blight that is becoming more and more pervasive in our beloved city: an abandoned carryon with syringes and other random stuff strewn over several steps marred the idyllic place. I tried to focus on the local resilient denizens, such as spiders busy trapping their preys...

I live here. Yay!!

(Update: 2022. Got it correctly renamed! Hooray.)
And for the record, it's called Vulcan Stairway, not Vulcan Street Stairs, not Vulcan Street Steps, not Vulcan Stairs, and not Vulcan Steps or any of that nonsense. Vulcan Stairway...got it??!! Many, many years ago it was Vulcan Street but that's going back a ways.

For those wondering....it's 219 stairs to the top. That's actual vertical stair-steps, not counting the "steps" you take walking on the landings on the way up.

Fun facts: this used to actually be a dirt road that started on Levant (called Juno back then) but didn't connect all the way down to Ord (called Clara Ave back then), it ended where the stairs shift over to the side. They put in the steps around 1925 and connected the two streets top and bottom.
