A beautiful & quiet trail that takes you along a stream and pond. Runs along the back of a street of houses, and is a nice quick escape to nature amongst the suburbs.

Good park to walk. In summer it is always busy. I like to go there in winter.
One of the best place for trail, good sound of water and beautiful nature. It would be nice little in town trail trip. Enjoy it.

With each unique season this is a very nice trail to walk through nature nestled in old Markham.
Truly winter, here is a good samaritan making the path safer and easier to travel after the snowfall last evening.
We see these sparrows have been temporarily pushed out of their nesting space by the snowfall.

Didn’t see any infestation of invasive Common Reed [Phragmites australis] in the marsh!

A nice trail circling a small stream and a storm water pond. Here you'll find fowl in the pond, birds in the trees and a small wildlife.

At the south entranceway, along Major Mackenzie drive, you'll be greeted with 3 large rocks. The trail is paved with gravel, so it's an easy walk. Once in a while there is a bench you can sit on.

There are no garbage bins, so please don't litter. Parking is available on side streets.

It's a nice short packed gravel trail. It's relatively quiet and there are a few resting spots. I take my bike here all the time, but do watch out for pedestrians at times.

Mid Dec 2021. A nice but short walk in the neighborhood. Start at Vine Cliff, goes south and ends at Maj Mac. When one's mind does not reverberate with the road noise of busy Maj Mac and Woodbine, nor the air of exhaust fume be tolerated, turn back at Castleview and cross Vine Cliff to have brisk walk in tiny John Payne parkette. The car sound on Victoria Square may still ring the ear loud and clear on the way. Around 8:30 am in the morning or 3 pm in the afternoon, one would definitely feel safe and secure with many people, kids, parents, luxury SUV over the places. In spring and summer, fall times, though plantation and tree are not abundant, the trip is still refreshing to lighten up the mood. In winter, although there is no more foliage, the path is good for stretching the limbs even in windy day. The wind does not blow that hard since the trail is beside thin creek and lower than the surrounding.🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Unexpected, short trail in the middle of the city. It’s short but it’s a relaxing stroll. Great to enjoy & walk through after you’ve got a treat from any of the Main St shops.

If you are on Markham main Street, don't miss this boardwalk to see the impact of sustainability of habitats. And read about the historical importance, you will be amazed. In a few steps you will connect with yourself, seeing rabbits, birds for company.

My experience with this hiking trial was excellent. The fresh stream with fish in was a pretty decent POV for me. I live in Markham, which is a little crowded place. But this trial makes it up! Even in winter the trial is amazing! a great boardwalk to let of your feelings. In spring you will see beautiful trees blooming! very great place in my opinion. Really recommended!

I was surprised to find this trail when I went through John Payne Park and onto Vine Cliff Blvd and saw a paved path leading behind some historic homes. Continued for quite a while and found that it finally ends around Major Mac / Woodbine! Usually a pretty quiet trail and gets more scenic around the pond. Very easy gravel trail, fairly straight and level.
