Saw this place online and it looked amazing. What I can’t work out is that me and a friend were the only people there. Started with the hot wings which were just spicy enough. Then onto a beef and ale pie, cheesy mash and onion rings - with a really decent thick gravy. The pie was delicious with a crust decent enough to try to put up a bit of a fight (in a good way)
Service was just at the right level of attentiveness, appearing when needed. Would happily go back.

I always wanted to come here but it's a bit far so was in Mile End and took the opportunity to visit.
The food was nice but bigger portions needed at that price
Very pleasant restaurant.

I visited Piehole on Saturday and the last experience gradually got worse. Don't spend here on the overpriced menu.

The menu looked good, although a little expensive and was excited to try the newly opened resurant.

We ordered 2x Moo Pies (Steak & Ale) and 1 Kate Sidney (Steak & Kidney) with the £2 Halloumi sticks and a side of fries.

The food arrived okay although was given 2 plates of Halloumi, we thought it was really good value for the £2 stick... Then the food came and all looked really good.

The Kate & Sidney pie was cold inside, with bit that almost appeared frozen. We mentioned this and they took it back to make a new one. 2 of us almost finished eating by the time the pie eventually arrived. They gave us 'coplementary' fries when redelivered although not really complimentary when we didn't eat any of the first lot as they took them away with the pie.

As a gesture of goodwill from the chef we was given 3 scoops of vanilla icecream, we appreciated this.

Upon on paying I noticed we was charged £15.90 for 2x Halloumi Fries!!! Even though we only got the sticks to go in the pie for £2 each. I questioned this but was told we should've questioned this when we got severed. How am I supposed to know what I ordered wasn't what I got?

I asked for a refund on these Halloumi Fries but a loyalty card was the only offer of compensation, which I rejected as I wouldn't like to eat here again.

Steak and ale pie came out very cold, staff did take it away and get a new one which was hot but meant eating whilst rest of table had nearly finished. They were apologetic and gave free ice-cream bowl to share.

Also be careful when ordering halloumi stick, waitress misheard and bought out Halloumi fries (which we only discovered once we got the bill). As we hadn't been there before we weren't sure what to expect.

Overall, I don't think I will be returning.

Pre booked table of 4 with friends
Lovely food and cocktails
Lovely waitress although clearly busy- only one staff member out front and one chef out back so food took a bit of time to come but when it did it was worth the wait. Would recommend

We visited Piehole as a group of 17 from work for lunch. Giovanna was really accommodating of the last minute booking when I spoke to her on the phone and helped us to pre order so that the food would come quickly. We all had pie and a side which was delicious. There is a really great vegetarian offering too! The restaurant has a nice relaxed atmosphere at lunchtime.
My friend and I had a great time in Piehold. The place is fairly new apparently but we found it as looking for something different that also had gluten free options.
The staff member was really nice, polite, and friendly.
The cocktails were great and good value, the food was delicious and we are definitely going there again!
The ambiance was very relaxing and the whole place is beautifully decorated and makes you feel special.
Highly recommend.

Ordered via Pie Hole for takeaway

The young kid was great, friendly and accommodating, came here twice and was served by him.

Baked goods are my weakness and found out their sausage rolls were available, meaty and juice with flakey pastry. You gotta have tomato sauce with your pies/sausage rolls.

Wonderful location and food. I had the chicken pie, brocoli sides and rice pudding. The pie was obviously really light (dough was flacky) and inside light. Chicken was really good.
The best was my rice pudding. Creative, tasty mixing sweet and sour. Just loved it!

was famished after exploring daunt books at cheapside so decided to have pie for dinner. the walk was rewarding because we ended up at a proper pie eatery. a very fancy, upscale restaurant - didn't realise this when we were searching for dinner options. great ambience with warm lighting. tried the chicken and beef pies along with broccoli on the side. they were very inviting and palatable. you can ask for bread (£4) while waiting for the pies to be served. while it states that waiting time is up to 30 mins, our pies came less than 10mins after our orders.

just a note to use the main door which is located at the entrance of the building (as shown in the photo) we almost used the side door which displays the kitchen.

Really excellent pies, savory starters, and polished deserts. Decor to impress. Wonderful service too. But all commensurate with the price. Consequently, although I really enjoyed my visit: not brilliant value. Particularly not the wine.

We visited The Pie Hole takeaway... £13 may sound a lot for a pie, but they're very filling AND incredibly well made with premium ingredients. Honestly, it was the best pie I'd ever eaten. Well worth a visit to pick up a cheeky takeaway.

Really enjoyed our dinner here! We had delicious cocktails before dinner, and then really good wine with our pies! The library is downstairs and isn’t always open if it’s not busy, but I was told this when I booked and I still wanted to go for these excellent pies! Really good food, highly recommend

The most incredible pies. The lamb was my favourite. An absolute delight. If you’re reading this review, you must come here and see/taste for yourself. It’s quite obvious why Calum Franklin is the pie king of the world.

Came in without a reservation (and not a hotel guest) took a bit of time to be seated but we got a table. Service was very friendly. Seating was comfortable and the space is really nice. We both order pies and we’re not disappointed by the namesake. Very flavorful and cooked to be flaky but not overly done. Very much recommend for a great traditional meat pie!

The setting and atomsphere of the dining room is lovely. Friendly Italian waiter full of energy and enthusiasm, eager to please and this is something amazing to see in London restaurants

But the food was awful 😖 😱 the much anticipated pork pie was just really average, nothing to shout home about. The beef Wellington was so so, Gordon Ramsey bread Street kitchen does a much better job. The disaster was the grilled pork chop, super ovet cooked and when arrived on the table it was just warm, and those black pudding and crackling crumbs was meaningless.

Overall a bad meal and not to be repeated
