Amazing store, amazing vibe. Plants were healthy and kept in very good condition. Store owner is amazing to talk and very passionate about plants. Amazing experience!!
This may be the best plant shop in Brooklyn. Cleanliness 5 stars. Customer service 5 stars. Prices 4 stars(could be cheaper but the quality is 5 stars so i understand) lmao. And variety is 5 stars. They also have a dog. You can't go wrong.
I have about 10 plants so far (wife's not to happy about it). They all are thriving.

Fantastic selection of indoor and outdoor plants, pots, accessories, etc... with friendly and knowledgeable service. I'm a fan!
Tom (the owner) was very informative in my search for new plants. Searched high and low for a good plant store with a nice selection. Highly recommend!
I love this shop! It’s not just about their fantastic range of healthy plants from common and to collector finds, it’s the vibe! There’s always good music and a sofa to chill on. You must see the Living Wall installation if you are NYC. Tom and Drew don’t just know about plants, they take their time in explaining the care. I think I’ll actually keep my fern alive this time. Also, pop by with your dog for a treat because this a true neighborhood joint. I have been in their shop for some of the collabs they do like the Ecuagenera pop up and events with local potters.

So sad I couldn't buy anything as I'm just visiting. This place has tons of cool plants, gorgeous pots, and friendly staff!
Chelsea Garden Center Red Hook has been my go-to nursery since I established my garden four years ago. The selection and quality is fantastic, and you can always find some gems there you likely won't find anywhere else. The staff is awesome - Linda & Gina particularly rock! David is a fount of knowledge and clearly passionate all things garden! If they don't have something in particular you're looking for, ask! They may be able to order it for you. It's not my only source, but it is my first and most frequent! My perennial garden is almost entirely sourced from CGC.

The cons: Don’t come here expecting anybody to spend time helping you unless you’re spending a ton of money. I’ve had staff walk away from me while I was asking questions because they were “too busy”. The manager is patronizing. Others are willing to answer one question, but then run away and lose patience with you.

The pros: hard to find a better selection of plants in Brooklyn. The price is probably appropriate for the quality and selection and lack of other convenient options. Just don’t expect any help.
Love coming here! Such a nice place for a date. I’ve been here 2x with my boyfriend and we always get so absorbed into painting. It’s a nice place to tap into your creative side.
We'll miss you! Have a good retirement Margaret!
I absolutely love The Painted Pot and would frequent all the locations for birthday parties, camp, and fun family time growing up. Now as a young adult I had the pleasure of going back to the remaining Park Slope location for a date night and we had a great time. The staff is amazingly knowledgeable and kind and the reservation system is simple and effective. We loved being able to schedule a time to paint hassle free instead of the old walk-in system with long wait times. Weather you’re a child or an adult The Painted Pot remains a fun and unique experience that everyone should try.
good place, paints are sometimes mislabeled but overall it's a big part of my childhood and the service is always kind and ready to help.
Was such a exellent experience! The girl working gave a exellent painting environment! We had a great time! Thank you!

Hands down my favorite plant shop in NYC! They have the most diverse plant collection I’ve ever seen (and the price is great). At first I was hesitant to get the more exotic plants because they are more expensive or non beginner friendly plants ( I tried and failed before), but the owner Tom is super knowledgeable & patient, with his advice it makes me more confident to give it another try. I now happily have over 50 plants in my house and still getting more!

If you need cool & unique planters you can also check out the handmade ceramic planters made by Lorraine that’s also a must-have. In all, everyone is very chill, welcoming but professional there, definitely check this place out if you’re in town!
love this shop! it has a wonderful selection of plants for plant lovers of all levels. it is also very cozy inside with a living art wall + sofa for relaxing. tom, the owner is so friendly and nice too!

the plants i have gotten from here are all healthy, thriving, and living their best lives! looking forward to going back here again!
There are plenty of awesome and professional nursery's in Brooklyn - this isn't one of them. We bought four Scout Maiden Grasses which began to curl and die the day after purchasing. We called the garden center 2 days after purchase and was advised by Alex to cut the curled top and keep watering the plants generously, which we did. When we followed up with Alex via email to request an exchange of plants that were clearly dying at the point of sale, we did not receive a response. When we followed up again, he accused us of not caring for the plants properly and said we exceeded time for a refund/exchange. You can't make this up. Don't waste your time. We ended up back charging the purchase, went to a different nursery, and now have a beautiful garden to enjoy.
Gotta say I'm pretty surprised at the service. While I was there I had a great time with my husband. Just the beginning the girl in the front ignored us and making us feel like we did her a favor by coming. Then the second thing is that they said that they will call us when the piece is done. My husband tried calling after 2 months and they banged down the phone screaming at him . To finish it off we never saw the pieces yet so I don't recommend this place at all. SERVICE IS THE MAIN THING WHICH THEY DONT HAVE!!!!

Fantastic store & such nice people too!!! You will have lots of fun there. Grab the opportunity to go with your friends- you will not be disappointed. It’s so much fun to make handcrafted beautiful pottery!! A+++++++
We had a gift card here, a present given to us before COVID. They used to be located by court street and now they are in park slope. Finally got to come here. It’s a small place and tables are tight. Mostly families and small children when we came on a Saturday. You book in advance online to make sure you have a spot, it’s pretty easy and you can change the time as many times as you want. The reservation is for an hour and a half. It’s around $30-$40 a person for the normal stuff you would want to paint like plates and cups. They also have acrylic paint which is not food safe, but if you paint something with that you don’t have to come back to pick it up. We don’t live in Brooklyn but the woman said they call before they donate your pottery if you never come back and pick it up, the website says you have to come within 2 weeks but she said it’s actually a month. The staff were all really helpful and friendly, and even though it was busy they were dealing with every customer promptly.

It’s fun and relaxing to paint, but it does get crowded and it’s hard to move in and out of the cramped tables. I probably wouldn’t come here without the gift card.
I have been to a lot of pottery painting places, I love them! You have to book a table online with a time, so we did that and went. The selection of pieces is pretty slim; mostly plain bowls, mugs, plates, which I personally love, but worth a mention. The paint colors are good.
The main issue I had with this place was that it wasnt made clear that you seriously have a time limit before they kick you out. You’re there to essentially make art, but only have 90 minutes to paint a whole piece. I’ve never been to a pottery studio that kicks you out before youre fully finished. An employee came over to let us know we had 10 minutes left and I hadn’t even done the inside so I had to rush and just do it a plain color; I dont want to pay $30 for a plain bowl that I can buy at Target.
The issue too is that me and my friend were sitting at a table for FOUR PEOPLE (they put us there), and the people waiting to take our table was a group of two as well. Why couldn’t we just share the table so I could finish? Weird

When I was picking up my mug, they were rude and I felt discriminated because I’m not Jewish !!! . Would never go there again

I love this place, great place to let your mind roam free in painting cool plates, statues, cups,Mugs and many more cool pottery, only issue I have with this place is they should have a bigger wider selection of different MARVEL and STAR WARS pottery and many more. Let your colorful imagination take over when you come here you will not regret it!!!!!!

Now that Spring is here in NYC, it’s planting season! I stumbled upon this place on my way home. They have so many wonderful healthy plants and so much variety. The staff was super welcoming and helpful. It’s close to the Red Hook ferry terminal. I definitely recommend this place for your plant needs!!

Been coming here for years, and recently ordered items that were delivered to my door by a friendly employee. We were so pleased to find so many color paints in our kit, and my kids were ecstatic to get the pottery experience even during COVID. Please ignore the mean reviews- some people just want things to be dirt cheap, even in an expensive place like NYC, and they have no patience (aka rude, entitled, judgmental- just grow up, get a real job, move out of your parent’s basement, and maybe then you’ll feel some humanity).
The place is beautiful. The staff could be friendlier. They don't welcome you when you enter. Most of the things are pricey and they charge a sitting fee of $8 per person. After you finish your item, you have to wait 2 weeks to pick it up .
Went last week and really had a nice time, I’m a nanny and I took my little one who is 6 she loves it there! She made a mosaic and it came out so sweet. The staff is super friendly and are always there to help. It was a little busy but I think it was because it was spring break. The prices are a little high but in my mind it was more of making a fun memory together that will last forever as well as a little token we get to have that we made together.
I went to the Chelsea Garden Center to outfit my office with plants. I had to thread the needle of finding things my boss would like, staying within budget and choosing plants that can stand the rigors of office life.

The staff was extremely helpful in putting together a plan that fit all my constraints. They also had all the pots and dirt I needed.

Delivery was fast and efficient. Nothing was broken and the plants and trees made it without any damage.
