Hands down my favorite restaurant in all of Los Angeles. Everything is amazing. The green bean started and the Tantan Men are like a once a week requirement.

The service and staff are always friendly and wonderful. The space is clean and the vibe is chill and very family oriented.

Look out for Sunday/Monday closures.

Mmmmm, so good! My friend lives in the area so I had been driving by for a while and the other day we finally tried it. Man, if I lived over there I'd be going every week! We both got a combo of fried rice and chow mein with teriyaki chicken. I also got the bone-in pork. Both were super tasty and the portions... I made 3 meals out of my combo plate. Highly recommended.

I came here on a recommendation from someone and I’ll definitely be back. This place is insanely good. I got a spicy chicken ramen dish. It was incredible the food was flavorful, and the spice was perfect. They’ve made a lifetime customer.
This Tonkatsu (pork cutlet) is pretty amazing. The pork is very thick and soft. Crispy outside. Just great matching. Whenever I want Tonkatsu in LA, I come here because this best Tonkatsu in LA.
Best sushi we’ve had in awhile. Such good quality. Also not bad price wise!! And the atmosphere was my absolute favorite. Such a cozy cool vibe. Loved this spot so much will forsure be back!

This is the Little Tokyo outlet of Sushi Enya. The place is on the same street as the popular ramen place. We orders the 18 piece sashimi set twice and the chef was thoughtful enough to put different fish slices on the two orders. We also tried their specialty eel roll which is served on a very long dish since eels are long? Quality of the fish are quite high and attention to details are there. There are not many tables so it gets crowded. Usually there is a wait so suggest to arrive early (5PM) or use table reservations. They have a cancellation fee if you make table reservation. There is no parking on site so you have paid street parking or paid parking structure near by.

I'm not as into ramen as some people but my family loves it so we've hit many spots on the Westside. This was easily the best tasting I've had.

I had the spicy miso and tried a few other dishes frim our group. Everything was delicious!

The food was ok , not too many choices available and the dining area is from like the 70s needs an upgrade
The unexplanatory rich flavor of TAKOYAKI is a bomb! The home-made sauce is a perfect companion!

Like many other reviews have said, it’s an affordable Chinese take out place. This is especially true for this area (Echo Park, Sunset Ave). I only wish they would put more vegetatables in their entrees. Otherwise, it’s good and will fill you up.

Great service but had to go back to try different flavors .. still thought the tuna mayo was the best ! This place isn’t as busy as there other LA location! We had the mushroom one this time and I wish it was a little more saucy because it just tasted a bit dry. Still glad we tried it though !

Went here yesterday for the first time with friends. I was told it was an awesome onigiri shop and thus was interested. The place had a few people but it was not very busy by any means. I ordered the miso beef, miso mushroom and the monthly special A5 Wagyu. Service was quick and everything was quick. The miso beef was okay. The miso mushroom was delicious.

The A5 Wagyu… holy mother of god. My partner and I split it and honestly regretted getting it. It was horrendously salty and overpeppered. Our mouths burned from the over abundance in black pepper. EVEN THE RICE was overseasoned. I wondered if the person who made it lost their sense of taste.

I wish I could give the miso mushroom a 5 star on its own (the miso beef would be a 2/5), but the offensive flavors of the Wagyu was just so bad. If I come back, I would only get the miso mushroom. I’m too leery to get anything else.

Overall good dinner experience. Really liked the vibe and variety of food options. The uni bowl had a ton of ikura and plenty of nori to wrap the rice and hamachi collar was very good. The oysters and chicken Karage was average. We also ordered udon noodles and unagi bowl which were also good but not very memorable.
We were just walking past while exploring Little Tokyo and found this gem!

Delicious Loin Katsu, Salmon Roll and Black Pork Sausage - would recommend! Edamame was average, but still nice overall ❤️

where was I the whole times in LA not knowing this place.

omakase bowl: MUST TRY. i thought it would be bleh bleh like the overall sushi scene in LA but this one is SO GOOD. fresh, no funky smell, lightly seasoned so it doesn’t taste blanc but not overpowering. this is a good alternate for Tokyo Tsujihan. you have the option to wrap the donburi in nori to make your own handroll. hand down the best nori.
toro with uni: the 2 most fatty fishes combined, result is BOMB!!!
ankimo sushi: CREAMY ankimo melts in your mouth and explodes with flavor.

Food: 💛💛💛💛💛
Service: 💛
Atmosphere: 💛💛💛💛

Service is BAD. Almost all the waiters look like they HATE their job and HATE the customers. No patient when taking order. Give us “the look”. Note that im not the type that needs constant checkin nor taking a lifetime to order.

Note: they have another place closed by serving omakase ONLY. we went to the izakaya one.
Dumplings were tasty, preference for the shrimp. Pork soup was super tasty, huge online order came in just before so wait was unusually long. Notuch of an ambience, but a good playlist.

The pork katsu curry was fantastic! Really crispy, great quality meat, and the curry was a nice thick consistency. The potato croquette was also very tasty and well fried. But the shrimp tempura was very undercooked, with the batter still goey under a first layer of very pale and chewy batter. It was super disappointing, but everything else was so good I'll consider it a fluke. Overall I'd come back to try more from their menu.
The quality of the food is great. Everything is freshly made. They have a good assortment of fillings for the gyozas and different ways of having them cooked. They didn't take long to cook them and bring them to the table. The only thing is that the place is a bit tight. When I went, the high tables at the front of the restaurant were the only place open for seating. Each table only fits 8 customers at a time, and theres only 2 tables. So, at times, there would be a wait for seating.
Unassuming place from the outside. We thought it was closed because of the banners hanging down. Good vegan options my parents got the vegan bento box. I had the pork and my brother had the chicken. Super delicious! Would definitely recommend if you're in the area. Staff were also v sweet :) thank you!

Found this spot last week when a storm passed by Los Angeles. It was all seats taken but I was able to do a take a take out. Wasn't really expecting something just something to eat when we got home. It was good. Unique flavor. I tried the miso and soy ramen.

Today I brought the whole family we had a lot to eat I wanted to try the menu. We will be taking out some food for tommorow but I'm happy with the food.

My husband heard this place a few month ago so we finally went to check.
We thought it’s only take out only but they slowly opened dine in.
We wanted to eat fresh made hot GYOZA so we ate there. It’s pretty good.

Nice staff 👍
Friendly. Parking maybe challenge but normally public parking every where in little Tokyo.

Very bad service, I ordered shrimp fried rice.... Get home it's chicken fried rice...... They've done several times..... Yesterday I confronted them about it.... that will be there last time doing that anymore.... I'm done with them....
I wish I lived nearby so I could eat here every day. The sui style soup dumplings are so amazing, and yuzu kocho is my new favorite sauce.

First evening coming to TOT, I was not at all disappointed to enjoy a quiet and quaint time. I ordered the salmon bento and its slight sweet sauce was the best I’ve ever tried before with plenty of mixed tempura, fresh salads, and side of miso soup with bits of tofu-seaweed! My favorite appetizer was the takoyaki, every piece was so savory! Even the Salmon roll was to die for!

Great sushi and sashimi. Great place for a date, me and my girlfriend go all the time if you're in the Los Angeles area.presentation is amazing. And if your leaving from inside, the sushi chefs all say goodbye. Amazing place, only downside is the parking but it's worth it.

First time visiting Little Tokoyo in Los Angeles and of course had to try takoyaki.

There's not much to say, except they're delicious! The Octopus was very tender and not overcooked (sometimes, I find it chewy and usually that means it's overcooked.) My fiancé definitely burnt his tongue on first bite so make sure to maybe open a pocket to let the steam out before biting into it like a timbit/donut hole.

The take out window was so cute! And service was so fast. Cute experience and definitely would go again if I'm in the area.

Btw we ordered the ponzu Takoyaki, so the ponzu sauce was on the side and we dipped the Takoyaki into it. Delicious! Love ponzu sauce.

With price tag at $17.99, very disapointed. The eel pieces are small and the rice is not right, not the Japanese rice I remembered. I should have read the reviews here before ordered. Apparently they lost the sop of preparing the food. Not recommended.

My new favorite restaurant in Little Tokyo because of its price, generosity, and quality. Delicious food, variety of options on their menu, good service, and spacious atmosphere.

This place reminds us of Ginza Bairin in Hawaii - which top notch Japanese Tonkatsu. Their spicy miso soup is also very delicious abd unique.

Would love to come back here to try other items.

I didn't leave any tip and my dish was disgusting. Exactly the same dish, ordered from other people, that left a tip, was way better. The dish was pork curry cutlet. I could see, very clearly, my meat was super thin, almost non-existing. While the other people got a thick cutlet with lot of meat. Clearly, being so thin it was so dry and too much fried. The service was also clearly rude because they saw I didn't leave any tip so they didn't even call my number, the called the one before and after and then my tray was there. I had to go and tell him my number and then I got it. Compared with three other people and asked them if they left tip. They did. This place sucks

This is by far my favorite sushi spot in the heart of little Tokyo. The menu can be a little overwhelming because there are just so many options. I usually order from the section on the menu that lists the most popular rolls. But wait, they have live lobsters and oysters too 😋

This USED to be my favorite restaurant at Mitsuwa. But the quality of the food has been on a steady decline while prices have gone up. Each time I stop by, I reluctantly try my usual order of a la carte items, in the hopes that perhaps the inconsistencies in quality of both customer service and food are subject to unforseen circumstances. That is not the case. In my observations, its been due to the carelessness of the employees who, perhaps due to management issues, have been doling out subpar food and service. On my last visit, i was not greeted at all but rather glanced at and ignored by a woman who continued to do "busy work" rather than acknowledge me at the counter. After a few moments i was taken aback by a rather hastily and annoyed "Do u need something?" Yell from the back kitchen of the restaurant. I smiled and kindly stated I would like to order from a clerk like i always do. The woman never came to the counter to speak to me but yelled from afar to use the new giant grease stained covered screen to order.
After looking at how dirty the screen was and the lack of personable service, I wanted to walk away. But, being the hopeless optimist that I am and my love for this restaurants tempura, i begrudgingly used the filthy screen to input my order.
Much to my dismay, the quality of the food continues to decline, both in freshness and presentation. Sadly, i will not be patronizing this restaurant any longer.

Good Japanese grocery store. They have the easiest parking and the only in-store Japanese food court I know of in the area. They do carry a particular brand of chips that we cannot find at the other stores, but frequently sell out. Kinokuniya is also in-store. I wish they would bring back the katsu sandos in their deli section.

A clean store that has a food court with 5 venues to choose from, a sweet venue, a book/stationery store at the entrance, and a grocery store.
Since they announce your order is ready via PA system, you can go buy groceries or explore the book store as you wait for your food to be ready, very convenient.
Definitely would come back again to try the food.

Takoyaki is one of my favorite Japanese foods. They are round semi gooey balls of dough stuffed with bits of octopus. Octopus in Japanese is tako. The basic takoyaki are topped with okonomiyaki sauce, mayo and bonito flakes. I had the yuzu takoyaki. Very delicious. There are quite a few other toppings for the takoyaki. Service is great and you can watch them make the takoyaki which is an art form. Meter parking and parking in nearby structures.
Expensive place, but the quality of the fish is amazing.

We ordered the fatty tuna, sashimi platter, and crispy rice. All of the food was great and while it all doesn't look like a lot it filled us up! (2 people)

Really nice place to get top quality sushi and sashimi. We got the rock shrimp tempura to try, and it was really savory and tangy, comparable to Nobu’s!

We got miso soup and then our main dish came in. I can’t quite remember what one of the four rolls we got, but none of them are a miss. The only thing is they’re a bit pricey for a single roll but worth it once in a while!

Good tempura is traditionally high class, light, and expensive. Hannosuke offers a different approach to tempura with their tendon rice bowls that are saucy, robust, and full of flavor. Their menu concept is very simple: tempura, soba, and rice, but they still have a lot of choices and even a kids option. I ordered the Edomae Tendon because it had the anago (freshwater eel). It came with lots of rice, miso soup, and some pickled ginger. It all tastes very good and it’s very hearty. Only issue is that it could be crunchier. The tempura was a little soggy.

Small Japanese market that also has a food court with several Japanese food options. Came here for dinner with a friend on a Monday evening around 6 and the piece was bustling. I opted for some udon while we got the curry katsu. Note that a couple places are cash only (which they delineate with signs). Otherwise, both of the places we went to accepted credit cards. When you order, you’ll receive a number and they’ll call it once your food is ready. Theres indoor seating available but it was bustling most of the night, so it might help to have one person reserve a table while someone else orders. Free parking in the private lot.

Service was okay, it was busy so they did what they could.

LOVED this place! When you’re just feeling like some gyoza and a beer, this place hit the spot. Expensive but what can you really do being in Little Tokyo. Staff was very accommodating to larger parties. The sushi was tasty and fresh. We got 4 separate lemon rolls in our large order, always a good go-to refresher.
We came here for dinner last night and had a lovely experience. We could walk in right away when we walked past just before 7 pm; however, when we left at about 7:45, it was quite busy, and you might have to wait for a table. The serving sizes were generous, and the food was delicious. I had the spicy chicken ramen and loved the broth. The atmosphere and service were quite average.

this place would have singlehandedly gotten a 5 star rating from me for having a ~15 minute wait on a Saturday at peak dinner hours, but the sushi goes so hard. it's like $23 to get the salmon blue crab plate but it was THEE most delicious thing i had ever eaten - if you like salmon, crab, and avocado of course. we also got the sakana sashimi, baked Alaskan roll (GET THIS ITS SO SOFT IT MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH), snow white roll (very filling), and the play boy roll.

Food and service was superb. You will find some creative dishes. Some dishes felt like they were a fusion of Japanese and Korean, and they were all fresh, tasty, and presented well. We were a group of five and we had to sit outside and the folding table and chairs were not very comfortable. I sat at the end with no leg room. I wouldn't recommend eating here with more than four people. There's a reason why this restaurant is always bustling. I wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

Great place for dinner. Limited seating but the food was really good. Interesting for the bowls that they use a different kind of seaweed that's not a flat piece but more like a weave. the uni and toro bowl was amazing. Also got the beef tan tan nabe soup that was also great. Skewers were nice and tender. The okonomiyaki was interesting in that it looked kinda like a square flat piece of sushi. Thought it was ok. The karaage and pumpkin salad was very good. Sea bass croquette was also good. Not too pricey eating alone but can certainly add up if eating family style. Waiters we're very attentive and helpful with the placement of food when it came.
A window shop inside of Chinchikurin, you place your order on the tablet at the window and watch them make your order right in front of you. We got the half and half option (you get to pick 2 flavors of 4 pieces each, totaling 8 pieces). The takoyaki was really good and had a very creamy center, however, the octopus piece was quite tiny. Still a great experience nonetheless.
Overall: 4.6/5 (dine in)

The guy working the front is phenomenal! He wears multiple hats, is fluent in Japanese, efficient, & kind. When you are heading to your seat, the guy will announce something in Japanese then the whole staff welcomes you. We chose to sit at the sushi bar which was a great experience. We watched the chefs work and make our food. It was like an art. They put a lot of attention into each fish. The only downside is that they don't provide parking validation for the Japanese Village parking garage.

Special Hand Roll ($34.80): This was good but not worth it.

Assorted Sashimi ($38.80): Two pieces of 6 different type of fishes. The fifth one was my favorite then the fourth one. They tell you the order in which to eat which generally goes from "least good" to "great".

Cherry Blossom ($25.80): They gave the longest roll I've ever seen and the size of each piece was pretty decent. This one was really fresh and better than the Crunchy Vegas. The roll has no rice so it's easier to fall apart though.

Crunchy Vegas ($21.80): This was a pretty basic roll and lacking a bit of flavor.

Although this place is good, the quality isn't high enough to justify the price.
This place has gone completely down the tubes over the years. The place is dirty and gross. Water logged moldy ceilings. Looks like they stopped upkeep in the late 80s and never looked back. Gross sticky floors, mold riddled fruits - the oranges were jacked!Insane prices, worse than Whole Foods while the quality was that of a Food 4 Less, where our old friends Sammy and Thomas liked to shop by the way. I will not be going… back?

When I travel, I suddenly get a craving for ramen.

The ramen here is one of the most extensive menus among the ramen restaurants I have visited in the past, and it resembles the taste of Japan, which is one of the top class in Los Angeles.

I wanted to order something else from the menu, but I was too full after one bowl of ramen to order anything else.

An unexpected quaint spot son sunset. Very welcoming staff an amazing location with its old booths. I liked the fried rice, but the orange chicken and broccoli beef was not it for me. Prices are really reasonable. And HUGE portions. But I won’t lie, I came for the vibe more so and it did not disappoint!
Finally tried their fermented soy beans aka Natto. It was very unpleasant and nasty tasting. They served it cold over warmish rice. The other dish I tried was just very bland salmon with tiny portion of ikura/ salmon roe over same rice. The salmon tasted like it was from a tin can. Wouldn't recommend this food court unless you like their overrated, super salty noodles aka ramen soup which is very smallish and expensive for what is it $15-18.

Me and my hubby ordered too many like more than 5 dishes. Everything was surprisingly tasty and has a good balance each of them. Fresh, perfect taste(not too sweet), generous portion, and friendly even though they were busy! Worthy to eat out!

Simply kind staffs
I had Combo B for fried rice and orange chicken and BBQ pork. Not that salty, oily. I could have more.
I love this Japanese market. I kind find all the fresh and frozen ramen noodles love, that other supermarkets don't carry. They have oyster and shiitake mushrooms at really good prices.

Really loved this omusubi shop. They are quick, the aesthetic is absolutely adorable, and the people working there with patient while I agonized over picking just two omusubi. Omusubi are rice balls. Fairly priced, filling, and delicious!

Absolutely love coming here. Never have I ever had a bad experience. I love the all day happy hour on Monday. We walked in and were welcomed by the hostess. She was friendly and attentive. She asked if we had a preference of where we sat and we asked for a booth. She said no problem and it would be about 2 minutes as they were cleaning one up. We came on Monday and ordered a lot of different items so we could all share. I highly recommend the spicy garlic edamame, the spicy tuna hand roll and the baked salmon roll. Those are honestly my top 3. The Mexican roll was good but I would have preferred the sauce on the side. The shrimp crunch roll is always a great one to order as well as the beef gyoza. You could never go wrong with those. Something not on the happy hour menu but worth getting is the yellow tail sashimi. Bomb!!!!The popcorn shrimp was a no from me since the tiny shrimps still had poop. Our waitress was also friendly and attentive. Overall a great spot to eat good and hangout and catch up with someone.

The cuisine here is genuinely authentic Japanese, and as someone of Japanese heritage, I am thoroughly impressed with the overall quality. While I haven't explored other dining options in the area, I'm confident in recommending this establishment as a solid choice. One point to note, however, is that the service might not meet everyone's high expectations. Additionally, it's important to be aware that the restroom facilities are not accessible to the public.

So embarrassing, I use to tell my friends that this was the best spot in little Tokyo for takoyaki. They use to be so good, I dont know what happened. Their takoyaki when I first had it was crispy on the outside and soft, flavorful in the inside LIKE IT SHOULD BE! that’s how takoyaki should taste but this last time I went with my husband it was mushy. Not crispy and not all that great. In fact, one of my balls didnt have octopus in it. It’s almost like the person making it was rushing. Sure it was a little busy but takoyaki is in the name for this business. You would think they would be more prideful for their “craft”

I enjoy eating Sunny Blue at Washington Blvd. which is good and delicious. I enjoy eating the Miso Beef, Sunny Blue Curry, Tokyo Tori, Spicy Salmon, and Hijiki Omusubi. They have many good and different kinds of Omusubi. If you order the Omusubi to Go they will cover the Omusubi like in the Japanese Market and they will put a sticker on the one you order. And it is next to the restaurant that I recently went called Humble Potato. So this is a good place for Lunch or a nice Snack.

I enjoy eating Hannosuke Shrimp Tendon which is good and delicious. Me and my dad used to come to Hannosuke at Torrance but it is no longer there. So I’m grateful that there is a Hannosuke at South Centinela which is almost close to home. So they have many good meals to try. Sometimes if you dine in they will give you the meal in a Nice Bowl but sometimes they will give a bento style if they don’t have enough bowls when you dine in. So this is a good place for lunch. I know it has a 3.7 Rating but to me I give it 5 Stars.

This is my favorite Takoyaki and one of my favorite stalls at 626 Night Market! They cook them fresh in front of you and the owner/recipes are from Osaka so your getting the real deal. Will definitely check out their Little Tokyo spot next time I'm at Japanese Village.
Seriously the cutest place with the best food. The staff was incredible and were able to get us seats at the chefs table 20 minutes before they opened. The whole staff can’t be beat, they were all incredibly nice and helpful. My boyfriend got the tasting menu. He said he liked being able to try everything but if he were to come again he would order a couple of his favorites. The way they specifically make their sushi is incredible to watch. They have a vegan tasting menu but I was happy pigging out on the garlic edamame (yes, you have to try it). Definitely worth eating here if you can.

Your go to place for local fresh refrigerated ramen. Unfortunately Marukai Marketplace only has frozen and dried. Well priced raw sushi items. Produce seems higher priced than American supermarkets, but possibly fresher items as well. Santouka Ramen is here!

The portions of the food are totally off the line. It just too tiny portion for the money
I paid $2.50 for this extra bowl of rice . It looks to me $1.25 .

Always come here to get some tempura. There’s a nice dark sauce they have that I like saucing up the rice with and run the yolk over after.

I have noticed every time I go the customer service is on a decline though.

Pretty delicious food. I tried the Fried chicken cutlet curry accompanied by sliced hard boiled egg, miso soup and rice. The curry gravy had a robust, dark slightly spicy smoky flavor. Nothing fancy here, just super good, cozy food that hits the spot on a winter night. Don’t forget to bring your vaccination card and photo ID if you were going to dine in at the food court

Great addition to Mitsuwa Marketplace. Menu is still limited at this time since they recently opened. Got the katsu curry to go (pictured, curry on the side so not in picture). Good flavor, very moist meat with good crunch. The rice underneath is flavored with furikake.

Me and my dad enjoy eating Ramenya’s Basic Ramen and Fried Rice. Yesterday we still have the Basic Ramen and this time we have Gyoza for a side dish. I heard that they used to live in Olympic Street before coming to Gateway Blvd. You can either eat inside or outside. Whatever feels comfortable for you when coming to Ramenya. So if you see a Heart Shaped on the Menu that means it is there most popular dish. They also have a Vegetarian Ramen meals on the Menu. So I would definitely come back to enjoy a nice hot Ramen.

I really like this place for a casual meal. My roomie and I got the shiranami sochu on ice to drink which was tasty and very strong. We ordered the tofu agedashi app which was fried and flavored perfectly. For ramens we got the Asianya-tartan hot and the kao san. Large portions (had leftovers) and both liked the broths a lot. Will be returning!

Visited October 2019. Best sushi experience I've ever had. We waited to have bar seats (definitely recommended). We really enjoyed the interactions with the chefs and watching the art of the delicately put together intricate creations. The flavours were fresh and top quality. I will definitely be back.

Will definitely be back. Reminds me of the tendon I had in Japan. Not as good of course but definitely one of the bests in the US. Especially conger eel tempera is not a easy find in all the Japanese restaurants. worth the drive! The price is also good!

When you decide to go to California but your mind is still thinking about the last Japan trip... 😂 we found this inside of a food court at @mitsuwa_marketplace, which was the best Japanese market we've been to outside of Japan! This Tempura dish from @tendon_hannosuke_usa was delicious. The highlight was that soft boiled egg that was lightly fried!

Sunny Blue offers these delicious little rice sandwiches that are perfect for on the go or a healthy alternative to fast food. They come with different meat, fish, veggie or mushrooms in the center and are as addictive as some controlled substances. My advice is to get a variety and try a few...and their miso soup is tasty as well! Always friendly and fast service...love this place!

Delicious, flavorful, and the best part, CHEAP! I wasn't expecting much when I came for the first time, but WOW, the food was very delicious! I purchased the pork curry udon and beef miso (highly recommend) for $9 and some change. If you're looking for a quick and cheap bite, this is the spot! Lastly, the staff were extremely friendly.
