It was the more terrible chicken shawarma I ever had , it’s even not taste like shawarma and the chicken was not cooked good too
They charge for sandwich , tax and serve 15.51 and I was not able to complete it
This is the more disgusting sandwich I ever had
Don’t ever try this place

One of the best Turkish food spots in NYC.
They’re firing up some unbelievable Turkish food at this joint. Got the Chicken Gyro platter, cost me $21 with tip and got a ton of food—enough for 2 meals. Super satisfied with what I ate and will be returning again!

Excellent meze plate, mixed meat dish and salad. Rice pudding and baklava were very delicious as well. Definitely recommended.
The bread… fantastic. Chicken Adana… delicious.

Turco is always great and never disappoints. Stop by for a quick bite to go or dine in for a quick break. Their hot sauce is really good on everything.
Great experience and amazing halal options for those looking for fresh meat.

Great place with warm Turkish hospitality and great prices in the City!

I've been brought to the place by a friend. Haven't regretted a second. Amazing delicious food, tasty Lentil Soup, great service! I think many agree that dining in the City can be costy at times... Well, this is a place where everyone can find a good dish for a good price tag.

Special thanks to the manager who was so attentive to all the tables and customers. To me personally, such behavior means a lot.

Will definitely return and highly recommend the place to anyone traveling, working, or leaving around.

Everything was excellent 🌷I sat outside on the sidewalk table.
Food was fresh and tasted great. Service was terrific. Melissa with such warm personality and constant smile, was fast and pleasant, visiting my table at least 10 times during my meal, refeeshing my “ÇAY” etc.

Thank you Melisa for a great day. And of course thanks to Şipşak and all their employees.

A month ago, I visited this place for a friend's birthday. It is a little pricey. They offer a wonderful assortment of steaks, including Canadian prime (which is halal), Australian wagyu, and USDA prime. They also serve lamb, burgers, seafood, and other foods. I choose the Australian wagyu, which I enjoyed. The lamb chops, mac and cheese, and creamed spinach are also delicious. Visit this restaurant if you're in the mood for fine dining!
Good food and great atmosphere. Went around 6PM on a weekday and was not too crowded. You can pay with credit card but they accept only cash tips. The staff was very friendly and made good recommendations.

The worst attitude I have received at a restaurant.
There was a Cockroach that was walking around and we kindly let her know(we weren’t even rude about it) because things happen. The lady answered by telling that she has been everywhere in the world and there are roaches everywhere. Lol what a joke!
There should not be roaches in a restaurant, we didn’t even ask to have our food comped we were just letting her know and we got that answer.
I Will never set my foot there ever again!
The portions were also really small.

The food still good but the price keep going up and the quantity is reducing . Dibi Sénégal is now full of bones
Purchased the Kobe tasting (medium rare) (with 24k gold leaf on the ribeye). Best steak I have ever had in my life. The steaks just melted in my mouth.
I felt service was just a tad slower than I would expect for a restaurant of this caliber. Waiter was super helpful and friendly and did go out of his way to assist me in getting the information I needed to make a decision on what to pick.
Place felt a bit crowded, but it is a small restaurant. I guess welcome to NYC. Would def eat here again, but for a special occasion as I seem to have expensive tastes in food.
I love Turkish food and I tried them a bunch of times and I really recommend this place.
Food quality was good and staff were polite and respectful.
It’s a small place with small tables, so you may get the food and eat at your place if you have a large family!

RASA! What a cool name right? Don't you just want to rhyme it or make a freestyle out of it?
"I was down at Rasa wit my homie Mufasa,
Simba WHACK he prolly still eatin microwaved pasta..."

But I digress.
This place was PHENOMENAL. My homie who rates Thai food for a living gave it "a 8 or 9," and I never seen him give above a 7.5. The best Thai I have had in the city, well Terra Thai lowkey is right there but it's so different I can't compare. WAIT Y'ALL STILL EATING AT FISH CHEEKS?!?!? (LeBron laughing emojis) COULDN'T BE ME!!
We went with the little beef pancake thing to start, the Malay Hokkien Mee (noodles), Massaman Curry, and the beef special that was recommended on the back of the menu but I forgot the name.
Everything was amazing, but I think the highlight was the noodle dish bec...well now that I type it out and really think on it, idk. Everything was so flavorful, yet not overwhelming. The line between not enough flavor and overwhelming flavor is as fine as a G2 Premium roller pen 0.5mm. Real ones know.

RASA DID IT RIGHT! THANK YOU RASA I WILL BE BACK!

Tried Keur Comba across the street and decided to try this one. Unfortunately I was out off by the strong smell of the restaurant as soon as I walked in and lack of ventilation. The entire place smelled like stinky fish mixed with balmy sweat and body odor. Yeah ain’t got time for that

It was delicious...the moment the food came to the table it was an eruption of mouth watering aroma. Great service and drinks. Come with time to sit down relax and enjoy the atmosphere don't come to have a meal in a NY minute
Swanky steakhouse in Manhattan that you have to try! Came at 6:30 so it was empty which I like. The ambiance was fantastic. The food was even better. The grilled octopus was punchy and tasty, the Brussels sprouts were delicious and the New York strip steak was so buttery and delectable! Service was very on it and helpful. I liked my mocktail as well. My friends got the dry aged bone in ribeye to share between 2 and a dessert which wasn’t my cupa tea chocolate soufflé too rich in my opinion.
This is the best Turkish food I've ever had in New York City. The flavors and the portion are great. I wish they had opened more locations throughout the city and Long Island.

The only halal restaurant in New York. Love that you can choose your proteins (chic, beef, fish, seafood or even simpy toufu and vegetables), then you choose how you want it to be cooked (3 types of curry and 5 types of sauté). Tried their chic with green curry, it was very good. Their hot ginger tea is authentic. The chendol serving is huge, with an interesting pyramid design. The roti canai is good too. The curry that comes with it is very legit.

This place is a hidden gem! The owner and staff are super polite and the food is authentic Turkish food. There is a bunch of Turkish restaurants in the city but this place beats them by a long shot. If you come make sure to try the Adana Kebab.
Don’t know if it’s up to health code but damn it’s tasty, filling, and open 24/7. Also at $10 flat it’s one of the cheapest filling lunches you can get in this neighborhood now.

The food, customer service and view were all amazing! We visited here since this was pretty much the only place that serves halal Malaysian food. My favorite is Hainanese chicken...simply the best. Also the Thai iced tea is outstanding and refreshing...I ordered two of them, that's how good it was. The owners and waiter were so caring and always made sure we had everything we need. For the dessert you got to go with onde onde...the owner brought us some tea on the side, in-house. Also my wife wanted a side of clear soup and the owner brought it for her for free. Overall amazing experience here and we actually went back for second time in our 7 days stay for the vacation. Must try place in NYC!!!
The bread alone was INCREDIBLE. Fresh ingredients, rice was really good, and everything was flavorful without too much salt. I usually never go back to restaurants more than once, but this has been bookmarked under favorites on my google list!!

I got the lamb gyro (doner) plate, gonna eat the other half tomorrow :)
Really nice guys that work there too.

Great fish - we wandered into this place 23 years ago, and the fish was magnificent, and the lamb stew pretty good too. Back in New York again this week, so we hunted it down. Still excellent. Hole in the wall with simple authentic cuisine (no I've never been to Senegal, but it echoes what's delighted me about West African cuisine whenever I've met it)
nice guy but there was a bug cooked into my food

Worst tchep I have ever had in my LIFE! It didn’t taste like anything, this was a pure waste of money. I’m a huge foodie, and eat tchep all the time but my family and I could not eat it. It was lacking all the taste that actually makes up the dish. Please don’t judge Senegalese rice based on this, this restaurant does not represent in any way how good our food actually is.
The food I got was nasty. I always go there and stay to eat and it’s always good but this time I ordered to go and the fish was burnt it looks like it was made the day before. It wasn’t fresh at all. I’m so disappointed. I was looking forward to my athiéké but I didn’t eat up eating it.
Zizo was super nice best service and obviously the food was something out of this world, definitely when the munchies kicking in this is the spot 😜

I heard about this halal Malaysian spot downtown and came to check it out. It is quite nice place inside and good amount of seating. I order this dish that looked like a ramen and the broth was beyond amazing. We also ordered this chicken and rice dish with blue rich. Don't judge rice by it's color!! This blue rice was soo unique and good. This spot is such a wonderful little halal spot!! I would definitely recommend this spot to others looking for unique halal cuisine!!
Some of the best chicken over rice I’ve ever had. Great quality chicken and lamb. The white and red sauce is very flavorful. My go to halal cart when I’m downtown. Amazing service as well

A nice selection of Southeast Asian foods from Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Overall taste lends itself to Singapore and Malaysia though even for Indonesian menu items.

Nice flavors, spice level definitely catering to the non-SE Asian palate as I could have used more hotness (they offered to bring some extra condiments to assist with this.)

Generous, large prawns in the laksa dish my wife had.

Service was prompt and attentive.

For those who are interested, the restaurant also claims to be halal.

This place is always crowded. The food is great and for someone who would love to experience authentic African cuisine the Baobab is the right spot. The workers are friendly and the delivery service is quick and convenient for the customers. I will definitely recommend to my friends and family.
I ordered Sultan Platter and Falafel, the presentation was nice and taste was very good and everything was fresh. I also appreciate the staff they’re so kind, and the ambience was very nice too.

The food is pretty amazing here and the service is top tier good. They have a wonderful menu selection and the service staff are very friendly too.
Had a fantastic chicken gyro on fresh Turkish bread, and a shepherd salad with feta. Both were absolutely incredible. The prices were, well, NYC. The atmosphere is awkward and tight, but well worth it for the really great meal. The service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be back.
Everything was excellent. We got the mixed grill for 2, all the meat was cooked and seasoned perfectly.
The bread was great too. Highly recommend. 👍👍👍👍
Delicious Turkish food here - tried lamb and chicken platter with rice, Turkish coffee and tea. Everything was delicious and the cups were very ethnic. Small hole in wall place so call ahead if a bigger group.
Tasty fresh filling meal. Quick service.
Both falafel wrap and chicken gyros wrap were yummy

A great place for Turkish cuisine!

The service was great and wasn't too busy. It was a Sunday early afternoon.

Starting with the falafel is always a great choice. Each bite was flavorful and crispy. A fantastic start to the meal!

The lamb kebab with Turkish spices is a great dish. The meat was well seasoned, tender, and rich. The rice was okay - for me it was a little bland.

Would recommend!
I've been to Senegal, and this place is very authentic as most of the customers seem to be Senegalese. The place was very busy but the staff made us feel welcomed and they made space for us so we could dine in. This place has a communal feeling, and most people seem to know each other, which was very nice. There was one server, but she really did a great job managing all of the tables on her own.

I ordered the dibi lamb and was a bit disappointed that they did not have the sweet plantains (alloko), so I got the fries instead. The fries were not that good, but lamb was so delicious! It really tasted just like the lamb I was eating in Senegal. My friend ordered the fried fish and it was also very good. We had the bissap juice, and I loved how sweet it was. The portions are very generous, and prices were very reasonable.
We have been customers here for years. Honest Chops is a blessing to the neighborhood in many ways. Good Health and longevity to the business and those who work there and support them

First of all, i wanted to say i enjoyed my food. The dessert was amazing! However I didnt understand the staff when they were giving the food. I m sitting in my table, they pit the food on the other side for me after to lift it and put it on my side?twice? Aint a mistake.
Then I have to wait untill they finished they convo to ask for my dessert and bill?
I liked the way the manager treated me, but the other lady no, i asked for a table of one she looked at me like idk.......if the manager didnt came quiet i would have left. I usually give tips but today no sorry!. Other than that it is clean, nice ambuance!
I absolutely love this restaurant and their lunch special. It is such a great deal and the food is always delicious. I personally love the chicken adana kebab, the meat is very tender and moist. Not dry at all, it's perfect. The staff are also very friendly and I have never had to wait to be seated.
During my trip to New York, I enjoyed my favorite national lunch ,Rice,Fish and vegetables 😋 at this welcoming, friendly Senegalese restaurant. Enjoyed my lunch and this beautifully social, cultural friendly atmosphere of back home.
Great place to get some Halal Turkish food. Get there before 3 pm, they have great deals $28 on lunch, 3 courses. Good portions, food was EXCELLENT. Service is great, everyone was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was good. They have indoor and outdoor seating.
Delicious down to the last bite! Don't let the hole in the wall location fool you - this place was so good that it left me wishing my stomach was bigger because my mouth was still wanting more!

We had the lamb gyro sandwich and the mixed gyro plate. The sandwich was the best value of the two but the flavor on both was so delicious. Be aware that the portions are large and are more than enough for two hungry adults.

Perhaps the surprise star of the dinner was the piping hot warm bread that they brought out with each entree. It was soft, fluffy, chewy, warm, flavorful and just phenomenal! We enjoyed the bread with hummus and I can't stop thinking about it!

The red and white sauces were perfect compliments to the flavors and added additional depth and goodness. I would go again in a heartbeat.

Great food, and actually good and friendly customer service. Sometimes the food can be a little inconsistent in terms of preparation style but always very tasty!
Just so fantastic. Picked this joint based on reviews and the experience did not disappoint. Fast efficient service. Not the most friendly but could be a cultural thing.

You can eat in or take out. The dining area is cramped and a little dirty. This is not fancy restaurant table service, but it is table service that's sufficient.

I got a tabouli and a mixt gyro sandwich. The gyro reminded me of the doner kebab pita wraps I used to get from the Turkish street vendors in Paris. This was a taste I've been chasing for years and finally found it here.

Homemade bread and high quality meat. So fing delicious omg I am salivating right now as I reflect.

I was also very impressed by the freshness of the tabouli salad and the flavors of the tzatziki and especially hot sauces that came on the side.

What a gem this place is. Will certainly visit again and again when I'm in the area. Definitely visit if you are considering it.

Let me just say, the hostesses were very welcoming (which was a rare occurrence in NY). The table we sat at was placed on an awkward rising in the floor which made my chair keep slipping back and the table most uneven. The servers was subpar. They were not quick nor attentive. We had to call their attention several times to get drinks or refills. The main one seemed annoyed from introduction. The lobster bisque, was like broth with a fair amount of lobster- nothing to write home about. The steaks were delicious enough, could have done without the pound and a half of whole peppercorns on them (and in every dish)! The sides were so bland and tasteless. Very disappointing. The chicken should not be on the menu. It tasted like they brushed rosemary over the chicken and then prepared it. It was wildly upsetting. The spicy pasta was awful and undercooked. The best part was their oysters! That sauce was amazing. That was worth the buy.
It’s not a place that I would want to visit again when I come out here, but those oysters I would definitely recommend! Seeing all the TikTok recommendations, I’m thoroughly disappointed with the recommendation. Mediocre at best. Now what I’d expect for $718 bill. We left and had to pick something up to eat.
Beautiful restaurant! Loved the ambiance and service. Pricing is steep and portions were teeny tiny but so delicious! I would still visit again!

A good place to buy Halal meat. The timings change based on the Summers and Winters. Please make sure to call ahead and check.
Also my advice would be to select cuts and the type of meat and place the order online. They often run out of red lean meat options from what I have seen.
The butcher is nice and kind and very professional.
I wish they had Turkey options besides thanksgiving.

Excellent food ! My friend and I came in for an early lunch on a Sunday and found the place pleasantly quiet. We ordered their red lentil soup- Mercimek (a must try) and Special Mixed grill Chicken. The meat was tender and flavorful and the owner was kind enough to serve us some Turkish tea in beautiful tea sets. For desserts, I ordered Kazandibi - hoping it would be extraordinary however I was not impressed.
The restaurant is small with limited seating and is mostly always crowded in the evening. On another occasion when i popped in during the evening time, I was met with a rude hostess who would not pay any attention to my take out order. If it was not for this incident I would have given it five stars.
This is a really nice Turkish restaurant. Service was good! Only wish they had added charred onions and chilies for more flavor, just my preference but overall would recommend this place!

This is a great restaurant. Good service, excellent food, and a friendly atmosphere. I would personally recommend the Lamb Adana Kebab. Portions are big too. When we were taking the rest of the food to go, the waitress added some extra bread for us to take. Seldom have I seen such thoughtfulness and care when serving a customer.
What an amazing meal! The Mediterranean ambiance of the restaurant was lovely. We ordered the Iskender, Ali Nazik, Icli kofte and Lamb Adana and all was a delicious and with appropriate portions.

The service was also excellent - our waitress was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.

Great Malaysian spot to get authentic food and drinks. Came here with a group of friends and the staff was very accommodating. Everything was delicious and came out in a timely manner. The menu is large and has something for almost everyone. Looking forward to coming back soon and trying out other options!
The chicken is very moist, flavourful and the quantity is a lot! Food was very fresh and chicken kebabs were cooked on demand as it took 20 mins for the food to be ready. The white rice was quite delicious and the jalepeno pepper was very hot!!
I was not expecting the chicken sandwich to be big or heavy, but I was wrong. It was filled with all the veggies and chicken, and very delicious. This place doesn't look much from outside, but go in, and order a meal and you won't be disappointed!
Came to ABA to experience authentic Turkish food. They serve Manti, which is hard to find in any Turkish cuisine. It was delicious, beyond my expectations. It felt like I was back in Turkey having a meal with family. Lamb Shank was also amazing. Next trip to NYC will definitely include another stop at ABA.
if i could rate it 6 stars i would!! food was amazing, servers were very nice.. I do not normally eat liver but the ciger (liver) was so good i might start having it now and beef and lamb dishes are a must try! kunefe for dessert was the best part!! i loved it so much 💗 best turkish restaurant in the city 10/10 i highly recommend

Came for lunch for a party of 3 and had the whole restaurant for our table. Everything was impeccable and spectacular. The service and close attention to detail were top notch. Our waiter was a pleasure to have and very professional. The food tastes just as good, if not better than it looks in the pictures. I HIGHLY recommend trying the Kobe if you haven’t yet, and the octopus. Both were truly other worldly and I was speechless. I did not want to swallow and just kept chewing! The creamed spinach and lobster Mac and cheese are delicious sides, not too heavy and just delectable. One nit pick is that the sides go cold very quickly which made the consistency thicker than I like. Will most definitely recommend to my friends and family.
this dude literally hit on my married mother and several other married women “to go to egypt” and didn’t stop until confronted by the building… the truck also is gross and probably not up to health code regulations/standards
The plate was very delicious and fulfilling. The lamb and koftas was tender and moist, the rice was decent, and the white sauce was very good.
We found this place when we were looking for a dinner place in theater district on our recent trip to NYC. We were lucky enough to get the table for five as we did not have reservations. This place is nicely decorated but not very big. Friendly staff and fast service. Main entrees and desserts, everything was very good and flavorful! Definitely coming back.
A hole in the wall but flavors and quality of food is not a joke. It matches the Turkey I know and better than many starred Turkish joints. The Adana kababs are flattish and just very exquisite, the bread superb. Wish they had Bulgur wheat instead of the rice. Amazing food.
Food was good but I think it was a bit pricey because you get only four pieces of lamb chops for 42 dollars.
Lamb chops were good but I don’t think they were worth 42 dollars.
Service was also pretty good.
Centrally located
Great ambience and atmosphere
Courteous and professional staff
Well maintained
Prompt service
We ordered a mixed grill platter. It served well for 3 adults who are mid size eater. The shammi kebab in the platter tasted so so good. Baklava was also very tasty but portion size is relatively small so left us craving for more :)
Bar offers only wine and beer

Would surely want to visit them in next trip
AVOID THEIR DELIVERY SERVICE. Ordered $100+ of meat which never got delivered. This was with their delivery company Nash which does not have a customer facing service department.

Emailed and called the company and after 4 days was told to generically call the delivery company as if I had ordered through Mercato or some other customer chosen delivery provider.

Frankly disappointed with their lack of responsibility or customer service. I’m a repeat customer and order large quantities of meat so don’t understand the lack of urgency to assist.

Definitely recommending for whatever we tasted. Calamari was cooked really softly , branzino( levrek) was fillet and grilled and was so fresh, salads, meatballs and meze’s were also so delicious. Exactly will come back! Thank you for all your service, we felt like as we are in Turkey.
Good food, good quantity.
Worst customer service ever. I made an order last week, they called my husband's to deliver it. Unfortunately, they couldn't reach him, so they took back the order. Since then, I emailed them four times to fix the matter, and to provide another phone number, and my willingness to pay for the redelivery charges. No one replied back, also I tried calling, the same no one answered, today the butcher answered but he's not in charge of the customer communications. I learned my lesson, never again.
I got the lamb Gyro with the special sauces. It was absolutely phenomenal. I would definitely try again and recommend everyone to go ahead and try it. The service was great and the man at the stall was very friendly.

10/10 recommend.

Update :

I was recently there for the second time & I gotta say I really enjoyed it. Loved the food, the service. Keep us the great work 🙏👌

What a cute little halal place I end up finding 👌Love the vibe, the food was amazing , service was wonderful ❤️Restroom was clean.

First time trying Malaysian food; tried mock tails ,snack, noodles & dessert. Loved almost all of them.

As a halal place I didn’t expect a bar, that’s the reason I took 1 star out! I hope in future it becomes strictly halal! It’s a genuine request to the owner! I know you wanna get more business but as a halal place we can’t encourage people to drink ! It’s also encouraging to Muslims, which we do not want.

I will be back soon, thank you !

Best halal truck in Upper West Side. Very fresh and delicious, the combo with Chicken/Lamb is great!
The food is great! The meat is very tender and literally melts in your mouth. I rarely enjoy Doner, but loved theirs. Both the chicken and lamb Adana kebabs were amazing! I really enjoyed the lamb chops. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. I would say it’s on the pricier side for the portion.
Place to get fresh halal meat. Special shout out to David who on request had the chicken cut and clean!! Meat was fresh and clean!!

This was so good! Not great if you are trying to watch the salt content but if you want some delicious Senegalese food, this place did the trick! Please keep in mind that I know absolutely nothing about Senegalese food standards, but my friend who is a first generation West African descendant and more familiar with the cuisine said she thought the food was great. At the very least, it was yummy to this uncultured American girl! 😁 The atmosphere was a bit dark for my liking but the place was clean and the portion sizes were wonderful. Great value, just not for less adventurous eaters.
Very delicious halal food. The service is always excellent, and it is my go-to halal food truck around the financial district.
Whenever I am back in my old neighborhood, I stop by this food truck. I get off of the subway and stop there before going back home. The gyro is perfect and clearly made by someone who cares. Street food does not get better than this.

Best halal food in the area and takes card. Generous portion compared to most others! A little disheartening to read Alison’s review. Clearly lives under a rock where cost of living and inflation don’t rise.

Friendly Senegalese restaurant in Harlem with tasty, traditional food and generous portions, though the amount of fish with the tieboudienne is a bit small relative to the amount of rice.
The atmosphere is typical of what you would experience in Senegal, including the TV channels. Customers chat with each other, sometimes across tables, while waiting for their meals.
Don’t be surprised that not every dish on the menu is available every day. Look at the daily specials section to see what they have that day. (Every Senegalese restaurant I’ve been to does this, but this is the only one I saw with the daily specials list.)
I brought a friend who had never had Senegalese food before and she liked both dishes.

Friendly and attentive service. The food was delicious and came out very quickly. I loved everything I got. The roll borak were the underdog, despite being fried they were right and had a distinct flavor. Charming retro Midtown atmosphere. Good for large and small groups, though it gets loud when it's full.
When entering you will notice how small it is. There is barely any room to stand let alone sit and eat. There are a few tables but you will need more than luck to find it not taken already.

The service was a bit slow. It took over 15min for my order despite me being the only one in the restaurant. As for the food, the only downside I would say was that the bun of my burger was cold. I'm assuming that they warmed up the bun right when I made the order and it cooled down by the time I was served.

The burgers are really tasteful. In my opinion they are the perfect size, not to big to make it difficult to eat and not to small to leave you hungry afterwards. Overall the quality of the food was good, and I most likely will be going back on off hours to avoid the wait.

what a scam. $7 for chicken over rice. i didn't have the energy to fight with the guy (i've lived in nyc to know that $7 for chicken over rice is absurd). he also uses much smaller containers than the regular guys. major pass.
