This is the latest open halal spot and it hits so hard. The fries are the best seasoned. And gyro over rice delivers on every promise.

Try this lovely place.
Wow!! If what you are looking for is a real hamburger, you should definitely come to Shishman.

I recently moved next to Abu Omar and I've been totally obsessed with it ever since. Everything I've ever ordered is amazing but the beef shawarma sandwich is my favorite. Employees are always so friendly, the food comes out FAST and it's a lot of food for the price! Very glad to have this place.

I ordered a chicken shawarma over rice on uber eats. The menu is not accurate. I got lettuce on my plate instead of the promised chickpeas, olives, etc. Chicken was also super bland and terrible portion size for $15. Looks nothing like the gorgeous picture on the menu. Scummy.

It’s one of the special Mediterranean food trucks in Austin TX ..
The meal was delicious ‘Italian chicken’ was so delicious with cheese, it’s tasty and I’ll recommend it to my friends and definitely will come back again..
When I visit the lake Austin next weekend..
The best and most authentic Mediterranean food in Austin served with a smile! The owner and chef was super friendly and made an incredible meal. This was the closest Mediterranean I’ve have since being in Europe. 10/10 recommend.
First time going tonight and I loved the food. The owner is nice and gave my husband and I free baklava for being first timers. We were surprised and grateful. I am def coming back. The food was worth the drive.
It’s in a good location. But the gyro chicken plate we ordered was not the gyro we ate several other Mediterranean restaurants. They carve the chicken, but here they reheated chicken and served it on a plate. Falafel was sour and clearly not fresh. Sorry for the negative review. Maybe their equipment was broken, I dont know.

So I ordered my gyro over rice from here, Abu Omer Halal’s “Gyro Over Rice” dish failed to meet expectations. The gyro was dry, tasteless, and overcooked, lacking proper seasoning. It felt like it had been sitting out for too long, resulting in a tough and chewy texture. The rice was bland, clumpy, and undercooked, and providing super salty flavour. No white sauce or hot sauce added. The portion size was small for the price, just waste of money .
This place is not recommended for those seeking a flavorful and fulfilling gyro and rice meal.
One of the BEST food trucks in Austin serving Mediterranean food. It’s located in a busy area with bars/restaurants, inside a gas station parking lot. It was our first time there but we have heard great things. We were greeted by an older man, he was extremely nice and runs the truck by himself. I asked him if he was Egyptian since my bestie is and she is from Alexandria. The owner said he was from Alexandria too! ☺️

We ordered the shish kebab plate, mixed grill plate, HAWASHY, and he gave us complimentary baklava since it was our first time there.

The meat plates were so good. The meat was generous and the pita bread was soft, warm, and so good with the hummus and meat on it. The salad was refreshing and cold. Works really well with the meat and rice and white sauce. The mix grill plate was a combo of lamb and chicken—get it if you want to try both meats. The HAWAWSHY was very very unique. It was a very big bread stuffed with beef and lamb. It was so soft, easy to pull apart, slight sweetness from the bread and spice from the meat. We got it as an appetizer but the size of it is a whole entree. I highly recommend you try the hawawshy next time. And lastly, of course the baklava was amazing. We air fried the 2nd one the next day and it was so good.

The food is so delicious!! Prices are keeping up with inflation and still cheaper than those sit in restaurants. Give this food truck and the Egyptian man from Alexandria a chance! :) I believe it’s ranked #83 best places to eat in Austin. There are a few picnic tables you can eat it.
Incredibly fast service and amazing food. Everything tastes so fresh and is perfectly cooked. The meat is so tender and flavorful. Such good hummus!! Wow. Thank you!
The employees are very good and friendly. The food is very delicious and satisfying. I liked it very much and recommend it to everyone.
Tasty if you're buzzed, but not even remotely worth the price.
Needed a quick dinner pick up and only chose this place because I've been craving gyro and the reviews seemed to be great. Sadly it was absolutely not .. I honestly don't know if the ppl who left the reviews have had good Mediterranean food .. the beef swarma plate w rice was extremely bland even w the red sauce (just tasted like blended chipotle )and white sauce that tasted like a bad attempt at taziki . The meat sat on just a bed of wilted shredded lettuce Even w trying to fix it at home it was hardly a good meal to say the least.... Not sure if it was just a bad night but it was very disappointing

I love this place and their hand crafted, Mediterranean Food. Check out the Turk Salad with their grilled chicken. Add some XXX sauce for that extra kick. Good old fashioned fresh food, made to order. High five.
Shish tawook plate. Three small pieces of chicken and so much rice.
The restaurant SHISHMAN are truly amazing. Their ingredients are fresh, and the taste and portions are more than sufficient. The sauces are fantastic. They are professional in terms of cleanliness. You don't need to think twice for both catring and individual meals. Just order from SHISHMAN and enjoy. They are friendly. Ordering from SHISHMAN will truly make you happy.
I recently dined at Usta Kababgy, and I was quite pleased with the Middle Eastern cuisine they offered. The chicken sheesh was exceptional, and the falafel wrap was outstanding in terms of taste and quality. The only downside was that the place could be a bit cleaner. However, considering the delicious food, Usta Kababgy is a great choice for Middle Eastern fare.

This was my first dine-in at Halal Bros. It was my anniversary and we decided to hop in after going through positive reviews.

The restaurant is small and simple, but the service and food were top notch.

I ordered Chicken shawarma over rice, and I myself couldn't complete it at one go. I took the lunch back to my house and relished it.

My husband ordered a Falafel wrap, Baklava, hummus, Dolma and he was literally obsessed with the quality.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. Their staff are also pretty nice in behavior.

Will order again. ❤️ Keep shining 🌟.

This review is bitter sweet for me to write because I used to be a Halal Time diehard.

I've eaten here a few dozen time and the owner maintained exceptional quality even at 2am.

Unfortunately, the truck is now run on autopilot. I don't blame the owner, he earned it.

But sadly, the food is just not nearly as good as it used to be.. Service is way worse and the wraps are very sloppy. Quality control is just not what it used to be.

I don't think I'll be going out of my way to eat here like I used to.

I ordered chicken over rice. A price on the menu was $11 but they charged me $12.99. When I asked why they said it’s an old price.🤷‍♂️
As I got my order chicken was cold 🥶 But rice was worm thought 👍

Kebabalicious is an Austin gem! The most flavorful falafel and housemate sauces I’ve ever ingested. Large portions for the price really can’t say enough good things about this dying east side restaurant. Postponement add a photo.

Amazing shawarma here. Had a chicken and lamb separately shawarma over the rice. Next time I will rather take lamb cause it’s more tender than chicken. Falafel is very crispy and well cooked. Highly recommend for foodie out there. Will be back.
Extremely happy to have such a good Mediterranean restaurant in Austin; we certainly need more diversity in Austin. Shishman offers authentic Mediterranean food at a very reasonable price. Service was great, staff was kind, atmosphere was pleasant, and food was yummy. This is a restaurant that you can come at least once a month and enjoy their food.

Both the wrap and sandwich I ordered were incredibly empty. Both items didn’t even contain a cup of meat. Way overpriced. 30 dollars for about a cup of chicken, bread and some old fries.
Delicious food, pleasant and respectful service. If you are looking for Mediterranean food you will definitely be satisfied. Highly recommended.

Amazing place for Mediterranean food, everything was great, the plate and wrap. We had beef flatbread as well which was also nice. But definitely recommend any wraps or platter. Tried the baklava - so good and not too sweet. Don't have fries, didn't like those. The owner/staff was very polite and explains everything in detail. They also have ice cream and smoothies as well if you don't wanna go for food. Location is perfect as they're multiple taco trucks as well near by.

I have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. They are usually always swamped, so you should either come early or order online for pickup. I've tried just about everything and i can honestly say everything is good and you get great bang for your buck. They do have another location off of 620 but they have management and quality control issues, so this is the place to go. My favorite dishes are the lamb and chicken combo over rice or just the lamb swarma over rice. Wraps of any kind are also delish!! The meats are always juicy and fresh, as are the veggies. Throw on some white and red sauce and you be cooking, man it's so good. I've cried before when they ran out of the red sauce!! They are also one of the few late nite non Fast food places that are open late in Austin, so if ya want'n some late nite eats, this is the place ta go too!! I highly recommend coming here if you want some great food and won't bust your wallet, this is definitely the place to go.

I did the Lamb Shawarma over rice. Meat and fresh veggies over a bed of fragrant yellow rice. White sauce adds creaminess and red sauce definitely packs a punch. Pickles on the side is a nice touch, to cut through the fat.

This is mostly a take out place with some tables for dine-in. So, ambiance is basic.

Stumbled upon this place accidentally and decided to give it a shot since I grew up on mediterranean food.

Service was very slow and the food was substandard. I got the chicken shish plate - the rice was dry along with the chicken and did not taste fresh. The only good thing was the hummus.

Won't be coming back here. There are better mediterranean places in the city such as Kabobzi.
Great food. Friendly service. We went late night. The menu that they have is different from what you see online. And some items are only available on particular days. Their hummus is really tasty and the pita bread was big and freshly made(they know what they are doing). Kabab was delicious and not spicy so kids can enjoy it. They had lentil soup that the server offered to our kids and they loved it.
They didn't have the Arabic tea. They have free tea. A counter with hot water and sadaff tea bags. It was good too.
Second best place I like after Leyla's Kitchen on Hamilton pool road.
Highly recommend. This place was really amazing, We had dinner here last night. Food is outstanding, clean presentation. Appetizers are the best. Hummus. Zaalok. So yummy. The Tagine was well cooked and full of flavor. If you are looking for Moroccan/Mediterranean food this is your spot.
Service has been on point the whole night.

This place defines the phrase "some of the best food you find is in hole in the wall places".

This one of mine and my coworkers favorite places to eat. Our food is always consistently good and the service is quick.I usually get the P21 crazy plate and vary the toppings I choose. The beef, chicken and fried cauliflower are always great on this rice and salad plate. The sauces are scrumptious.

Today I also tried the creamy jalapeño salad with chicken added. It was delicious!

Don't let the looks of the place scare you away. If you do you'll miss out. (Oh and hilariously, they have clip on bidet attached to their toilets!)

Upon receiving cold undercooked fries and politley asking for a fresh batch I was provided another mildly warm pile of leathery potatoes. To top it off, the pitiful “gyro” meat in the store bought undercooked pita tasted like someone had it in their dresser for a few days. Dont go here for your own safety.
It was honestly pretty good tasting. However, not allergy friendly. They wouldn’t take my order over the phone, and their online ordering services do not have modifications or comment section. I ended up ordering through grub hub, didn’t see any cheese or salad in the description so I ordered with the sauce on the side. I got a salad with cheese on it with a bowl smothered in white sauce and I’m allergic to both, unfortunately I only really got a taste bc I couldn’t eat most of it.

Either take orders on the phone or include customization/allergen section on online orders for inclusivity. Read the comments on the online orders.

Amazingly spiced Mediterranean food with generous portions and very fair pricing. The rice and meats had so much flavor! Best crinkle cut fries I've EVER had! Their "Med" cheese burger is probably the best alternative style burger in town. The beefy, spiced kafta burger paddy paired with a slice of American cheese is what dreams are made of.

I found it to be expensive. Unless one keeps pouring their sauces, the rice and the meat is too dry to eat. Flavor of rice was not up to the mark for my Indian palate. The portion however is sufficient for one person's meal.

There is a subway next door which appears better value for money.
This spot never disappoints! The chicken shawarma is my favorite. So yummy and a large portion perfect for left overs. The owner is so sweet and even throws in a free dessert some times. Not pictured, but also highly recommended the hummus!
I asked for garlic sauce and they gave me Mayonnaise. The Shawarma was a pita wrap and should have been called a Gyro wrap. They call it a Wrape which must be French?

This was just what we needed after a long day of outdoor activities. I wanted something lighter so opted for the house salad, soup, and the waitress was kind enough to allow me to order just one chicken kabab. My husband ordered the mix plate with Adana and Iraqi kebabs. All the kebabs were tender and infused with just the right amount of spice. We did end up going close to closing time and they had run out of rice, but the fries were good as well. The soup and salad were larger portions than I was expecting, but both had very good flavor. They brought us two pieces of bread and had complementary tea. Very nice restaurant!

Ordered tabouli and got a side salad for $6.99. Photo shows a salad bowl and I got this. The taste was hood but portion not so much. I chose dine in but they served in to-go plastic container.
Travel worthy food. Everything was so delicious and this might be the best food that I’ve had in awhile. The only thing that needs to be improved are the fries. They are over salted. Other than that, the chicken shawarma and hummus were very tasty and savory, the bread is soft and fresh.

We got the beef tacos, Iraqi kebab sandwich and lahmbajen. All the food was amazing, especially the beef tacos. I would highly recommend this place. The service was also great.
This gyro with Rice platter is absolutely the Worst gyro’s I have ever had. Do not order in this place. The yellow rice was not fresh at all. It felt like rice from yesterday or the day before. The gyro meat was not tasting good at all. The meat was salty with horrible taste. Please Do Not Waste Your Money. When I asked the guy if the gyro was beef. He answered the gyro was mixed lamb with beef. I don’t know you do that. The quality of gyros was not meeting my expectations at this place. I would not give them even 1 Star if I had the choice.

The food is DELICIOUS! The cashier lady was very nice and helpful, but instead of tabouleh, i got a salad. I LOVE their tabouleh! I always order it. I drove all the way to this location, and I specifically asked for a tabouleh on my Shawarma Arabi. But i got a salad☹️
I would 100% recommend this place. The food is just WOW! Hope i got what i asked for:(

Food was good and the hot sauce is not too spicy if you enjoy spicy. Had plenty of room to sit, it wasn’t too busy. Saw people come and go.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. We always get great service and the gentleman is kind and sometimes provides a few extras at no cost. The portions are generous and you won’t leave hungry. There is nothing bland about the food either. Can’t wait to come back again!
We really love this place. Place is super cute and clean. I really like the falafel wrap, philly cheese steak, tabouli salad were also great. Great flavors and the spices used are amazing. We also love the hummus and chiki cheese fries. Super tasty. This place is an easy decision maker when me and my husband can not decide on dinner. Highly recommend.

My food came with a roach in the Salad. I try to be nice and asked for a refund and they don’t want to refund me back.

Please avoid this place.
At Usta Kababgy, I had the pleasure of trying their Lamb Adana Kebab, and it was the best I've ever had. The tender and juicy meat, infused with an incredible blend of spices, created a truly delightful flavor experience. The generous portion, accompanied by fresh vegetables and fragrant rice, made for a satisfying meal. Additionally, their hummus was exceptionally tasty, with a homemade flavor that added an extra touch of authenticity.

The waitress was incredibly friendly and provided us with great recommendations. Her warm demeanor added to the overall charm of the restaurant. Another delightful touch was the complimentary tea they served, which enhanced the dining experience even further.

I recommend this restaurant if you are in mood for amazing kababs.
This place is amazing. People who takes the order are very kind and patient, they explain the dish well, they don't rush the order.

Their zalouk was really good, we also ordered chicken shawarma with rice and roasted pepper hummus all of them are must try. Portions were significant and taste really good. They even kind enough to give us extra bread without charges. I would definitely come to this place again. Must try spot for mediterranean lovers.

We came to Austin for Memorial Day weekend and ended up here, and it was absolutely delicious! I got the Shish Taouk Plate and it was great. The Baklava was also really good. I’m definitely stopping by again when I come back :)
This food truck is family owned and staff is friendly. The portions are big and the meat is juicy and tasty. I had the spicy chicken wrap and it was delicious. Definitely recommend! Go support this local business.

The atmosphere is really nice outside. The menu offers variety and is well priced. The taste unfortunately isn’t authentic, but it isn’t bad.
Keeps increasing the price of food secretly and he tries to trick you into adding hot sauce and a drink as if it were free. Also can be quite rude sometimes. It just stinks of trying to take advantage of tourists and not caring about daily customers. Food is decent
Their sharwerma chicken rice is nice.
Love the way they cook the rice and season it.
Sharwerma chicken is amazing. Nevertheless, it's worth the price.

I liked how the food is prepared here, but unfortunately while eating an Italian sandwich, I found an iron thing, you can see it on picture. It is unfortunate that the place is not aware what they are putting inside the meal, that it could lead to a very harmful situation.
I passed this place and inspired to get a takeout for a late night snack.
I ordered falafels and the chef also suggested zaalouk (which I was also eyeing). The chef was very pleasant to interact with, but what surprised us the most, he gave us extra sweets (cheesecake and baklava nuts)!!!
So, all of the foods are delicious. The falafels have a very balanced taste and texture (often I find falafels that need more salt), the zaalouk has the perfect chard and also well-seasoned (ooh, the chef also gave us extra pita), and of course, the sweets..just delicious!

This place is 7 out of 5 stars. If you’re in Austin, you must try. Especially if you’re around the Congress Ave Bridge/Lady Bird. It’s less than 5 minutes walk.

I saw from the past review that the shawarma is also great. So I’ll definitely come back and try it again if I visit Austin again. 👍🏼
If you’re looking for amazing Mediterranean food, please try Shishman! I was hesitant at first (never having tried it) but the Beef gyro over rice is too DIE for. So good. The portions are HUGE. The hummus is amazing as well. The hot sauce and white sauce are great additions. Literally my new favorite place in Austin, hands down.
We stayed in a hotel directly next to the food truck courtyard place where this is. I was kind of hungry late at night so I picked up some food from here, thinking it wouldn't be great but at least I would quiet my stomach. Instead I got the best falafel of my life. So fluffy and crispy. Also recommend the dolmade and the hummus. The hummus has an olive oil on top that is maybe lemon and garlic. Couldn't tell, but it was delicious. Highly recommend this place.
Incredible flavor. Fresh ingredients. The owner cooks it while you wait. Extremely nice guy. If I lived here, this would be a regular pitstop for me. I didn’t realize it was a food truck until I got there. So glad I stayed to experience it. Will definitely be back!

Absolutely delicious! Every single thing we ordered was amazing, and this is probably the best halal spot I've been to in Austin. I can't enough of the hummus and the kebabs, the tabbouleh was so fresh and herbaceous, and I can't wait to try other things on the menu. We got our order to go, and everything was well packaged, but I'm looking forward to coming back and enjoying a meal in the restaurant.

Kebablicious is one of my favorite eateries! If you are looking for scrumptious sauces with flavorful meats then look no further.

We went there on a Friday around 4:00pm. We were able to grab a table right away without any wait. They are super dog friendly so if you have a pupper you will have no problems. We got a chicken bowl with red sauce and taziki sauce, beef lamb wrap, side order of French fries and baklava. Everything was on point. We had a guest visiting us from out of town and they loved the food so mission was accomplished !

They also sell decent selection of beers. We tried one of their hazy IPA from the menu which was delicious. Overall great place to grab bite.

Awesome kebab and wrap place with some fun and inventive dishes. The Boss Fries are massive and so, so tasty! Definitely good for two people (or one near-starved human). The falafel is also great, and the veggies are very fresh. Loved the sauces and hummus as well! Hard to go wrong with Kebabalicious. It’s definitely worth the trek and the price!
Wow, so impressed with this food and the owner is so friendly. We got the chicken and falafel shawarma and they were both absolutely delicious. Fresh fillings in a warm pita. Decent size too for $20 total. It was so good that my partner went back to order the chicken plate which came with some of the best hummus I’ve tried. Would 10000% recommend.

It’s such an amazing experience with their new location, with different kinds of cuisines, i like the appetizers and the kabobs, I like the customer service and the delicious Iraqi bread from the oven ‘fresh and crispy’
I liked the Iraqi kebab, and the ‘Akawi zaatar’
And my favorite ‘baba ghanoch’ eggplant:.
It’s an amazing experience with new location:. Highly recommended
It’s in the same parking lot of advance auto parts:. W rundberg street & north Lamar Blvd
The chicken tikka and the lamb Shiah kebab are amazingly delish, with hummus ‘side’ and the garlic ‘sauce’ 😋
The desserts as amazing as well, the baklava and the other sweets, are so fresh and so crispy taste, if you like it to be heated or you like it room temperature , it’s even more delusions..
The watermelon 🍉 juice is one of my favourite beverages ✌️
I had a high hope from this restaurant. Specially after reading all the reviews that how good the lamb supposed to be. I really wanted the lamb at this restaurant as good as the reviews. I was really hoping for that. Unfortunately, lamb kebab were overcooked dry, and some pieces were not evenly cooked. I am disappointed because I was really hoping that this local restaurant would be really good, because I do support local businesses. I will likely give another shot just because this could be a one off.
BEST Mediterranean food in Austin! I’ve been coming here for years and the quality and service is always amazing. The owner is so kind and always whips up my food so quickly. Portions are big, especially the plates! And don’t skip dessert, the baklava and rice pudding are delicious too.
Excellent service, on point with the recommendations but most importantly DELICIOUS flavors and sauces. We were attracted by their star ratings, walked 9 blocks, it did not disappoint! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This place is amazing! The food tastes great, we got the mixed shawarma and gyro plate and you get tons of food! Comes with a side of pita. Hummus tastes homemade, it is delicious. Make sure you order some baklava. The owner is so so nice, he truly cares about providing quality food and quality service. A true East Austin gem.
Hours are great and the guy there doesn’t say much. It’s decent, especially if you hit the bars on 6th st. It isn’t as good as the NYC halal carts near 34th street. Glad I tried it.

Better than average sandwiches, delivered promptly and eaten heartily. The food truck is nestled between three other trucks and offers a nice seating area away from the main busy road. Will go again if am in the area to try other items.
Great Ambiance. Menu options were great. Staff was also friendly and helpful. I ordered the Philly Cheese Burger, The Zaza wrap and the Gyro over Rice. We also ordered the fries and drink. Their fries were great. My kids just want to go back for the fries...but apart from that the best item was the wrap, taste was on point, but it was too small. I have had much larger wraps for the same price. The philly cheese burger was tasteless. The Gyro over Rice were fine. I have had better ones. I liked the rice, they were flavorful. But their quantities are less than what we usually get at similar restaurants.

BEST LAMB GYRO IN AUSTIN. I've been to dozens of places in Austin and have determined that this place dishes out the best gyro around. While there is some good competition, I still think this place is the best.

The Lamb within the gyro has nice crispy edges. The taziki sauce is spot on and they put the perfect amount of hot sauce on there to spice it up just a little bit. They even toss in these special marinated pickles which give the gyro its own special taste

This place hit the spot!! You get a lot of food for the price. The lamb platter was great!!! Love it when they put a lot of sauce to go with the meat and rice. Falafel was also amazing! They fry it when you order. So delicious and fast service.
THE BEST gyros/bowls I've ever had!!! And if you're a sauce lover..... THIS IS YOUR DREAM!! They overload on the sauce in the most amazing way possible, it makes everything creamy and the flavors explode. My favorite place!
Best gyros ever!! They're even good reheated the next day if you need to get more than one 😀. The owner and the guy that works with him are so nice and give great customer service.
I highly recommended this place, the philadelphia cheese steak is the best. Falafel was fresh and chicken sandwich was gooooood.
Truly enjoying this meal, highly recommended for freshness and flavor. My boyfriend and I live in the building above the food truck park and never even tried this place before! Incredible halal/Mediterranean dish. I specifically asked for the Philly cheesesteak with no bread or fries, just the inside trimmings. (A keto version). Blew me away. Great customer service as well. Do not hesitate to visit this food truck in East Austin, such a wonderful and surprising delight.
The man running this little place was so polite and helpful. The food was surprisingly good for such a little stand. Would definetly come back here ! Gyro was great with the spicy sauce too !
Wow! Sam and Ali are perfectionists and work tirelessly to offer some of the best you can expect from a food truck! I'm working through the entire menu and everything is delicious 😋
The gyro is amazing, great quality, good service and location
Best gyro I've ever had!!! Very polite man, excellent care, fair prices!!

I just want to add to my review that I live in Denver, CO and have been CRAVING a gyro from this food stand ever since I got home!! If there's one reason alone to come to Austin, it's this gentleman's cooking. I hope to see you again sometime!
