The falafel plate was okay, the wood fire flavor of the pitas was good. The plate could have more vegetables instead of a pickle.
LOV has a beautiful setting, but the experience didn’t meet even the basic expectations. The beet tartare came with guacamole that had a big piece of avocado skin in it (see picture) — something you’d expect a kitchen to avoid. Service was painfully slow; we waited 30 minutes for entrees and another 30 minutes for mains. By the time the main arrived, it had clearly been sitting out so long that a skin had formed on the sauce. To top it off, everything was severely under-seasoned. The tartare, for example, was just cooked beets with no seasoning at all, not even a pinch of salt. A disappointing experience overall.
Great vegetarian/vegan restaurant in downtown Montreal. Several of their dishes have both vegan and vegetarian versions.
The space is very cute and the noise level isn't bad for a romantic dinner.
My wife got the vegetarian truffle mushroom risotto which was excellent. I had the coconut curry with butternut squash on rice with cashews and cilantro which I enjoyed immensely.
The brownie dessert could have been better hence the one star reduction. It was over cooked and hard in spots. But overall I'll definitely return next time I'm the city.

I had two Falafel sandwich wraps after a long and busy day. The falafels weren't cooked properly and the stuffing was merely lettuce, and dash of yoghurt/hummus sauce. Nothing else could be more disappointing, as there wasn't any hot sauce/Ketchup. Worthless, and totally disappointing after spending hard earned money here.

This place is beautiful! So many little charming details. It’s a vegan restaurant. We tried many of the items on the menu: the Brussels sprouts were great, the dumplings were also delicious. The s’nails (stuffed mushrooms) were good and a different offering. The burgers were good but they use the impossible patty, we were hoping for more of a house patty. We tried both the cheeseburger and the truffle burger, good overall. The ‘fish’ tacos were also good, breaded tofu was the ‘fish’. Great spot for IG photos. But a bit pricey.
The falafel is marvellous, delicious, fresh and tasty. Staff is kind but the MUSIC makes you wish to leave: loud, awful, forcing customers either to go away or leave fast. It gives the impression that they do not wish customers to eat in, just take out…

Our group of girls came here to celebrate a birthday and this place did not disappoint in any aspect. The atmosphere was great from decor to music volume. The food was very good, and all the drinks were delicious as well. As for the service, a very special thank you to our waiter Alec for taking care of our large group throughout the night. He did an amazing job and we were very happy with the service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a special occasion!
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. However I took off 2 starts due to the lasagna coming to the table in a hot container but the food itself was ice cold in the center. The server apologized, I changed to the cheese burger which was good. I would have given 4/5 stars if it wasn't for the fact when we were paying the server apologized again and explained that this issue with the lasagna had been going on for months and the boss refused to listen. On a positive note the rest of the food was delicious and the male bartender (with really short hair or possibly no hair) was nice. He serviced the bar, the tables in front of the bar and was helping servers bring food to the tables.
We had our engagement dinner here, and the team was so efficient and adaptable to our needs. Sasha and Catherine were the managers I corresponded with, they had everything ready for the night. Hossein and Emma were our lead servers and they helped organize every detail, ensured the night ran smoothly. They even moved the champagne tower spot for me! The private room fits 30+ people, was wheelchair accessible and the dinner was delicious. The team was lovely, we had the best time
A great, unique vegetarian/vegan restaurant with a diverse menu to appeal to plenty of tastes. The mushroom risotto is amazing and there are great, hearty salad options. We also really enjoyed our mocktails. The service was relatively quick and very friendly. Prices are reasonable for the quantity and quality of dishes.
It’s located in unique and vibrant Old Montreal. They offer dry-aged meats. The 45 days aged rib steak was awesome, rich flavor, tender and marbled. We were there at 9:30pm, didn’t want to eat two much, but we didn’t think the 20oz rib steak was enough for three of us lol, so delicious. The goat cheese was amazing, rich, smooth and creamy. The flank steak was so so, a bit dry.
On a beautiful summer day in Montreal, we enjoyed the outdoor terrace at Maggie Oakes. The food was really delicious and I would rate the Ceasar salad one of the best I ever had. It’s always busy, so try to arrive earlier. You can go inside to cool down and see the beautiful hotel.
It was very clean, the workers were helpful and very informative on the various menu items, the food was also so good I definitely recommend this place and will be going back very soon !

First time trying this hidden gem and I was highly impressed. I ate the spicy Falafel and I wasn't dissapointed. The portions were generous and the Falafel was freshly made and tasty.
Staff is friendly and overall I enjoyed my experience. I'm glad I discovered this restaurant, looking forward to try the Sabich on my next visit.

Amazing, honestly unreal. Falafel Yoni hits the spot, and what a perfect location. The Saint Viateur area needed this!

Easily the best falafel in town.. which is why there is often a line! Still dreaming about the crunchy yet gooey green falafel balls perfectly balanced with sauces, salads, and fresh pita! Also highly recommend the falafel plate 2.0 with grilled zaatar pita 🤤🤤

We stopped here for a coffee on the terrace in the sun, but then had a very nice breakfast.
The staff were very friendly and the food was very good. So why only 4 stars?
When we arrived at about 10.45, we asked if we could have coffee, and the waiter hesitated before saying yes and then giving us a lunch menu each. It was only when we looked at other tables we saw that they had a smaller menu. So we asked what they were, and we were told they were breakfast menus. We then asked if breakfast was still available and were told "yes".
So, we ordered from the smaller menu and had a lovely breakfast

Shoutout to Pascal, probably the best server we had in this trip. Gave us lots of time, no pressure 😉 asked us for our food preference, patiently listing the tea selection. Always had the customer experience in mind. Food was good, just look at how the eggs were done. Kitchen was faster than the drinks bar for some reason, but overall, glad we visited this restaurant

What impressed us even more was that he said, "I heard you from afar and knew you'd need a new one!" This small gesture speaks volumes about the exceptional service at Maggie Oakes. The staff's attention to detail and anticipation of our needs made us feel truly valued.

So driving around, the neighborhood seemed dead, that is no one was out. Perhaps because it was still chilly. But when we walked into the restaurant it was very lively. Families and friends getting dinner enjoying themselves.

Not what it used to be. Was good when it was one of the first to introduce Neapolitan style pizza to Montreal but others have far super-ceded them over time. If you’re looking for authentic and delicious pizza/pasta, this is definitely NOT the place. Overly hyped.
It's a bring your own wine, which is great, but this shouldn't be a reason to serve dry industrial pasta in an Italian restaurant in Little Italy. This is a kitchen that is made to serve as many people as possible, as quickly as possible. And for that purpose, it does its job well. The length of the menu should be a big enough hint that no one is sitting in the back rolling fresh pasta and browning guanciale to make a proper carbonara. But don't get me wrong, the food is not bad. It's what I would make at home when I don't have too much time to cook. It tastes ok, it does the job of feeding people and it doesn't break the bank. With friends and wine, you'll still enjoy your time.
The pizza was delicious. Also this place seemed super cool, I wish we would’ve dined in the restaurant as they had a fun byow night which I thought was a super cute idea. The pizza was still delicious for Take-away.
Returning to a familiar place stirred up nostalgia, menu looks unchanged since my last visit many years ago. The antipasto la buffala, priced at $21, felt underwhelming with minimal basil on tomato slices alongside mozzarella di bufala. The primavera pizza tasted excessively salty and lacked inspiration due to the use of canned clams. While my experience wasn't satisfying, I'd recommend trying other menu options, perhaps exploring dishes that showcase the restaurant's specialties or seeking recommendations from the staff to enhance the dining experience.

A true hidden gem among Indian eateries. Their extensive menu offers excellent dishes, but the real standout is their expertise in Gujarati cuisine. The flavors are authentic and don’t resemble typical restaurant fare; it’s akin to enjoying a homemade meal that’s simply too good to miss.

Rarely me and my other family members become unanimous in our assessment of food. This time we were: awful. We were prescribed their paneer karai masala as being really good. Well, 3 pieces of paneer in a dish worth 10 dollars and tasting really bad. The malai kofta was good; the gravy being very creamy. We had a thali. The chole was okayish. But the puri that came with the thali was, again, awful. We are used to having those fluffy and beautiful puris in these restaurants. But what came was pitiful excuse of puri. They even couldn’t make the golab jamun right. You need to be really talented to turn golab jamun bad. But they did. Masali tea rescued a little, can be given 6/10. They’re our neighbours. It breaks my heart to leave such a harsh review, but I am being completely honest.
The food was AMAZING! Super tasty. Vada pav 100/10. Sev puri and Pav bhaji were 10/10. We liked the chai too. The restaurant could improve the ambience, Service was very good.
Delicious food! We were 5, we shares the cheese and Toscana izzas and pesto gnocchi, and rose gnocchi. For dessert, a slice of carrot cake, tiramisu, cheese cake Alice and tartufo. Great service from Alex! Lovely ambiance 😊

I have visited this place with my family two days back. Firstly i was so afraid as I had bad experience of Indian food last day at another restaurant. I have ordered different items and all were delicious and affordable with good quality and quantity. I must recommend this place if you visit Montreal for first time and wanna have authentic Indian taste.
I visited this place for the first time in search of Gujarati food and I loved everything I tried. I'll surely go back and try more things. I strongly recommend this place.

We ordered a Stan for 2 : chicken shawarma with cabbage salad, potatoes and rice. With hummus and garlic sauce.
We ordered to go but everything was still hot when we started eating. Portions are good. Taste is good.
We’d rather the potatoes be salty than have this sweet flavor though.

Very good priced, halal place around this area. Their signature bowls are my fav! Tried chicken and beef - they both were good. Tip: go for Harissa sauce if you want to spice up your food.
This is my favourite Boustan. The food is always fresh and tasty. They have an insane drink selection and the customer service is fantastic. I highly recommend this place.

One of the best dining experiences in Montreal. Flavourful dishes and tenderly cooked lamb. The sauce of the couscous is sooo delicious, I wish I knew their recipe. The couscous paella is unique and tasty. In my opinion, it is better than the traditional rice paella. Service was friendly and as if they are hosting you at their home. Everything there is authentic and made to perfection. Music background selection is amazing.
Went there upon recommendation of a friend and it was really worth it. They use high quality ingredients and vegetables, they put effort in preparing real food homemade style. The green mint tea at the end with their desserts sampler plate was amazing. Will be back for sure and recommend them
The garlic sauce is really really good with everything. I got the standard sized mixed (beef & chicken) bowl and it’s so delicious - the portion is big enough for 2 people as a post-concert meal at midnight. Probably the best shawarma I’ve ever had, the tabouleh and potatoes were exceptional and the meat was properly seasoned. Wish I was in Montreal longer so I could eat more 😅

We were constantly ignored by our server, our food and drink were late and the only 4 times that our server checked on us was to let us know that we should hurry since there was another reservation for our table!
We had called to reserve a table beforehand, the reservation he was mentioning was in more than 2.5 hrs, and there were multiple tables still available in the restaurant!! It just felt like they wanted to kick us out from the moment we sat down.
It still took us five minutes of all staring at our server for him to acknowledge us and bring us the checks.
We all payed out and when we were at the door and about to leave one of the staff( owner or manager) came to us and started to insult us and called us thieves!!!!
Reason: they were expecting us to tip more! To be clear we had tipped them… and not because of the service we got but only just because some of us work in the same industry and understand how things work…

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER, do not waste your time and money here.
The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing, and everything I tried was delicious. However, the service was rude and barely attentive and we we’re seated outside in front of someone’s house. Despite that, I would still rate the food 5/5 and recommend this spot.
Nice and small MTL style restaurant, recommended for regular days and weekends but not for special occasions (a day to remember), for your interaction with the staff will ruin your mood and day.

Unfortunately, i can't call this place a Middle Eastern restaurant because it does not represent the culture.
Went there for dinner a few weeks ago and it was a miss for us unfortunately. We did like the terrace, but this restaurant is extremely overpriced for what it is. I paid 25$ for a garden + chicken salad which was barely an appetizer. The food tasted good, but for the price we paid for it, it was nothing extraordinary. The service is very slow and not very welcoming - our waitress (who I think may be the owner) wore earphones the whole time which is super unprofessional. Cherry on top, there was a hair in my salad so they had to redo it. But because it's so slow, by the time they brought a new salad, everyone else had finished their food. Also, there was a lot of opened sugar packets and the teaspoon was dirty for tea.
We had a great experience at menthe & couscous. We reserved for a belly dance show included with the pre fixe menu. The show was entertaining and the dancer had a lot of energy and it probably lasted for 4 or 5 songs. Food was really good and I really enjoyed the tea, salad and tajine. The place was smaller and less crowded than we expected and the clientele tends to be more on the matured side.
Nice Tajine dishes. We had the lamb Tajine. It came as stewed lamb in a sauce served over rice. It was tasty but I would have appreciated a load of chunky vegetables stewed in the tajine served with the meat.

One of the authentic moroccan restaurants. We really enjoyed the food so much. I ordered the Morrocan Tajine of lamb with vegetables and dried apricot and prunes. Its taste was mouthwatering. It reminded me with my stay in Morroco. The only thing that I missed, and it could add a lot, is to make the authentic Morrocan bread "Khobz" which will add a lot to the authenticity and the taste.
Besides that my wife tried the "Couscous Baheya" with chicken. She enjoyed it. For the desserts, we tried the "Omali", but it took so much time to be prepared and it look burnt ( as if it was kept in the oven more than needed ). Its tatse was not that good.

We ordered 2 wraps, one veg and one chicken…honestly, this was the first time I doubt a wrap to be taste like this. No taste at all, no pickles, no perfect sauces, nothing..they just wrap the chicken pieces and falafel balls in the wraps with a few lettuce and tomatoes, that’s it.. thankfully didn’t try much from this place..
The couscous restaurant offers authentic traditional dishes that cater to Vegan eaters. The food is flavorful, and the ambiance creates a pleasant dining experience. However, it is important to note that the kitchen and service can be quite slow, which may impact overall satisfaction.
The shawarma was delicious and the service super polite and friendly too. It's become my to-go place when I'm in a rush, will definitely be coming back!
If you go on terrasse it is nice, great food, quick service on Sunday not sure about other days and reasonable pricing for quality food.
Really nice restaurant. The food is delicious no matter what you order. I wish the menu had the description of the dishes, I found it hard to order. But otherwise amazing place to discover new foods and perfect for both catching up with friends and dates. The Fattouche was delicious and make sure to order hummus!
Great food, decent service (restaurant was empty but couldn’t move tables because of reservations - other tables stayed empty for more than an hour). We got 3 dips (baba ghanouj was a standout, the Muhammara was a bit dry) as well as the cherry lamb kofta and a fatteh. Would come again.
Absolutely amazing ! The staff and our waitress was the sweetest angel on earth: my food arrived cold twice and I felt terrible about making trouble for them but she reassured me countless times and fixed the situation twice with the kindest smile and offered me desert at the end for the inconvenience! And the food was of course incredible : super flavorful, fair prices and awesome service !
Not impressed with the food quality at this Basha location. Rice and potatoes wasn’t fresh and smelled bad. If you go end of the day, they will give you rice and potatoes from the back freeze. Suggestion, Don’t take a food from back freeze. Only take what’s available in the front.
I’m not an expert on Middle East food, but these plates tasted good to me. The portion is big and good to share with friends. If you want to try more dishes, it’s better to come with more people :)

Bring your own wine pizzeria, since 1948. The restaurant itself has a cozy and rustic atmosphere and the tree standing right in the middle provides an authentic feeling. I wouldn’t say the food is remarkable however. The meat balls were very chewy, the pasta was decent, but there was an excessive amount of cooking cream used in the dish and the pizza was just average.

I'll start by saying that the food here was amazing and delicious and if I were to solely rate the food it would be 5 stars. The service however really needs some improvement. After being seated and having our orders taken, we received the wrong appetizers by the same server who took our order. Then instead of receiving our correct appetizers we got our Main Course. I corrected that with the server and they took our food back and brought out the appetizers we ordered except they were clearly made in a rush as one of them was missing the lamb that was supposed to come with it. Finally after all that we thought we would have some dessert and asked for a dessert menu only for them to have completely forgotten about it and after waiting 15 min we just asked for the bill and left. Not once did anyone come to check if the food was good or if we need anything.
Let me reiterate this though. The food was excellent and if you want to try Moroccan food, I highly recommend it. But be prepared for the possibility that the service may not be up to par.

I was not a fan of this place at all. We ordered one mix plate and one mix shawarma sandwich. The beef tasted burnt, the bread was too toasted to the point where it also tasted burnt. The salad that the plate comes with isn't a salad, it's coleslaw with 2 turnips on top. The chicken was the only thing that had good flavor but it was dry. The garlic sauce isn't traditional nude eastern garlic sauce, it was like a mayo and it didn't taste of garlic. this locations washroom was very gross and dirty. Overall I don't recommend. Just the plate, sandwich and drink was over $30.
they charged me for a plate on uber for 18$ and i ended up with just a sandwich and a baklava. they are scammers who are after peoples money they do not deserve this forced one star review
First time trying their food. I liked it. The place is clean & service rapide and welcoming. I recommend.
Go-to late night stop for a big appetite. Staff working front of house, as well as a few in the back completing mobile orders. Line up clears fast. Don't expect big smiles and 'friendly' customer service. It's all in the food and factory like speed. Huge portions. Bilingual menu and staff.
Best Basha I’ve been too. Very clean and very nice people. Usually i don’t finish the whole plate but it was so good i couldn’t resist 🔥
I have ordered from this location many times and always at the same times, about 1pm and or 8pm. Never really had a problem with anything except the delivery time is always about 45 minutes. This evening I called to place and order, the man answers as if I had done the world a great injustice by disturbing him and when I ask if I can place an order for delivery he simply says "no" and hung up on me...
If you're hungry and want to pay for over priced garlic potatoes but don't want them to be delivered too quickly so that they are cold when you get them and deal very rude men that don't understand French or English when placing and order (if you get that far into the conversation with them) then this is the best option for you!
