Pizzeria Gusto

Cute little pizzeria in the heart of Saint-Leonard. It screams "Italian" in every way - food, decor, ambiance and clients.

Great and rapid service, overall.

For food, we took the arugala appetizer (ridiculous price for the size of the plate), the pesto gnocchi (sooo delicious!), the tagliatelle gigi (lacked in taste). The hot oil was indeed hot, but the concoction was basically more about the sliced peppers themselves than it was about the oil (as in you had to flatten the peppers with the spoon to get to the oil... Good thing I like the peppers, too... But if someone doesn't want extra consistency in their pasta dish, there will be).

Overall good. Next time, I'll try pizza and other appetizers which looked good!

Delicious food! We were 5, we shares the cheese and Toscana izzas and pesto gnocchi, and rose gnocchi. For dessert, a slice of carrot cake, tiramisu, cheese cake Alice and tartufo. Great service from Alex! Lovely ambiance 😊

The service was great! We ordered our drinks and appetizer to start (without any pressure from the wait staff to order the main course). The main course was ordered and served within 15 minutes. Refills on water, offered us if we wanted another drink. The food was absolutely delicious! The appetizer was the lobster tacos (with sauce, kale, carrots, and mangoes). The meal was the Mediterranean grilled chicken served with mashed potatoes (nice and fluffy, full of flavour) and asparagus, as well as the crab cakes which came with a kale salad with a variety of nuts, and fries. The portions were huge, so the "qualité/prix" was met. The only negative was the loud music making it hard to easily communicate with each other. Beers: Corona & Archibald Chipie.

Normally, the experience here is ok. Not sure what happened this time around. Sat on terrace on a Monday afternoon. Barely any service, waitress did not come to ask about our food (my Benedict eggs were horrible), if we were missing anything (yes, ketchup and water, went to get both inside, as never found the waitress).

Lunch and supper meals are better. The breakfast meal gave me indigestion. ☹️

Edit - appetizers are good - potatoe skins with sour cream and the cheese sticks with BBQ sauce. Poutine good as well, generous portion. Service still sucks. Long to order, no water refills, long to receive the bill.
Went to Balthazar on Wednesday evening, terrace, party of 2. Made a reservation (not possible for the terrace, but when we arrived, we asked, and we were given a seat outside). Our waiter Jean-Philippe was awesome and on-the-ball. He promptly took our drink orders (pichet: Blanche du Paradis - excellent white beer beer). For the main course, we took the Salmon tartare - my friend took the Aloha: it has mango and pineapple (my kryptonite!); I took the Orange: it was with a sour cream mix, pieces of orange, and orange zest topping. I enjoyed mine, though I feel it was lacking in spices or tang (garlic salt or maybe coriander). The side I took was sweet potato fries. I understood it was a $2 extra, but it was in fact $4 which I find crazy considering the portion I received (little basket, picture makes it seem like there are more than there actually are)...The portions of the tartare dish and baked bread (lightly seasoned) were perfect. The service for the evening was great, we were never missing anything, we did not need to ask for anything. I would recommend!
