Food is better in Hawaii for sure, but it’s still tasty and the drinks are strong. The service is really great and I love the interior of the restaurant! Never too busy either.

I work on museum campus and came here after work one day with coworkers. It's fun tiki vibes inside and they have a loaded menu. I was glad that I browsed the menu before we came because there were a lot of options! The spam masubi was delicious! They had lots of traditional Hawaiian options. The nachos were great too.

Went here with my family and enjoyed every bit of it. The atmosphere was great and the service even better. If you dont know what to get the person serving you will certainly help you pick something delicious. Those Hawaiian Pulehu Beef Shortribs were so good i forgot to take a photo of it as well as the nacho plate tha was the perfect starter. The drinks were also good the emperors lagoon and if you say you cant pronounce that one drink you see they'll most likely know what you mean lol. Great time and we'll definitely be comin back. Left happy and full

Super friendly staff, amazing and generous portions of food. Also, very strong cocktails.
We got a loco moco, and a spicy salmon bowl. The loco moco patties were seasoned well, onions so caramelised and fragrant, and was topped of with crispy fried eggs. Spicy salmon bowl had mushrooms, pickled radish, avocados, cucumbers (those were bitter though), peppers and some other mixed vegetables.
Will definitely be going back! Seems like a popular place because it was crowded. PS Bar tender is extremely friendly too!
Edit: I’m sorry, i don’t know how to reply to the reply. No worries about the cucumber, it does happen with ingredients at times. Small issue, we ate everything else on the plate very happily. Will be back and still recommending AO! :)

AO Hawaiian Hideout offers a delightful dining experience with a variety of flavorful dishes. The short ribs and pasta salad were particularly outstanding, combining tender meat with a refreshing salad. The spring rolls were a highlight, perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. For those craving a bit of spice, the Spicy Mongolian dish delivered with its robust flavors and satisfying heat.
Service at AO Hawaiian Hideout was exemplary, characterized by efficiency and friendliness, ensuring a pleasant dining atmosphere. Overall, AO Hawaiian

I hesitate to write this review, because it’s so good and I don’t want too many people to find out about Chicago’s best kept secret. Affordable and delicious food!
Great spot that is close to soldier field - fun for before or after dinner at events. Especially with fun cocktails!
Must get: Spicy Malaysian Deluxe Laksa Soup (mild is spicy as a warning… but it’s beyond delicious!) and Kalbi
Solid picks: spam musubi

I really liked poke! It falls on more spicy side. Their ribs were well cooked and tender but a little sweet for me and their mie goreng had good flavor but little salty. The envrionment and staff were very nice! Fun place.

We drove out from the suburbs to experience this place. The food was amazing! So many tiki drink glasses to order if you wish. The only recommendation I would give to the service would be to ask if we were ready for the check, or even if we wanted to keep the leftovers. We had to ask for take out boxes (none were offered) and the bill was dropped on the table without any mention or question about dessert.
