Mom took our precious dog here after he wasn't eating/ being lethargic. $500 in random blood work later and the answer she got was " I don't know what's wrong, I can't read this panel, lemme take more blood. Oh maybe he has a thyroid problem?". Gave her some random vitamins and medicine for seizures, neither of which did anything positive for him. His next few hours were filled with excruciating pain and seizures, soiling himself, and whimpering. Less than 30 hours later, I was burying my best friend. A perfectly healthy dog with no prior issues suddenly gone after seeing these failures. I will NEVER take a pet here or recommend anybody here ever again, count on that.
The vets and techs here are absolutely wonderful and you can really tell they care about every animal that comes into their care. I'm a first time pet parent with a Problem Child cat and every time I've come in they have been extremely patient with not only my cat but with me and all my questions, and make sure to explain every option and how to administer any medicine very thoroughily to me. Standard visits fees (specialty tests and medicine aside) are very affordable for a college student's budget.
Most amazing experience and the DR was wonderful with my spicy dog. Thank you for being wonderful. We have moved all three of our dogs care to this location after just one interaction.
Was in desperate need for 2 of our goats to be looked over. I am so glad I found Dr. Legato & staff. This is the first vet I have encountered that actually takes their time with each patient. My Romeo (6 month old buckling) was completely charmed by Dr. Legato and all the techs! He was able to get us medicine and Romeo is on the mend. I cannot thank the staff enough for being kind, and getting us on schedule so quickly. Additionally, I feel that the pricing is completely fair and affordable and am considering swapping all of my animals over to this practice.
We had our first visit at Sycamorer Veterinary Clinic. Was very pleased with the attention received, and the communication. We were not rushed in there. Staff was very personable. I feel good about my choice for a vet for my new family member
Today was our first time visiting Sycamore Vet. We have a feral cat that had an emergency and they worked us in immediately which we were so surprised and thankful for. Dr Legato was so kind to us and our feral cat Keke. He spent so much time with us answering our endless questions and made us feel so at ease. He was so wonderful and he does so many amazing things for the community cats as well, which goes to show what kind of man he is. Truly compassionate, caring, and goes above and beyond. We will definitely be back to visit Dr. Legato and staff. Thank you so much, we are truly forever grateful to you!
They take such good care of my beagle, Daisy. They are super helpful over the phone, and are always so nice.
After they fixed my girl up post-dog bite, I'd trust them with anything.
I called in with a sick glider and was referred to all species in Duluth THAT WAS A BIG MISTAKE when I told them I didn't have the money to keep her there and would take her home she wasn't breathing not even a min later mind you she was in this condition and breathing all day you all should never recommend anyone to go here !
The staff and Dr took care of my baby girl Chloe and is always very lovable to Chloe! I love our Vet and highly recommend them
Both my cats and I all 4 adore Dr Legato and the rest of the staff here! I may not have a regular doctor but my babies do! I highly recommend coming here for care you can trust!
Wonderful staff and such a great great veterinarian! I've been here a few times and will most definitely be bringing my animals back. They are so good with my Daisy! 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Love this practice everyone there are so caring and my dog loves everyone, The owner of the practice is wonderful, I have used her a long time I even followed her from another practice to this practice which she owns.
Always friendly service and great at necropsy and other diagnostics!
I recently brought my dog Korra to Hawthorne Animal Hospital and I couldn't be more pleased with the care she received. The doctors were attentive, knowledgeable, and compassionate. The vet techs were wonderful and made Korra feel at ease during her visit. The front office staff were friendly and efficient, making the check-in and check-out process a breeze. Overall, I highly recommend Hawthorne Animal Hospital to anyone in need of veterinary care for their furry friend. Thank you for taking such great care of Korra!
My puppy ran out of the yard and got hit by a car directly in front of this animal hospital. He was still breathing and alert. So I rushed him inside begging for help only to get turned away by the receptionist who stated "they dont take emergencies". I had to drive 16 MINUTES to UGA vet clinic on the other side of Athens and my poor baby died in route to the animal hospital. They could have at least tried to help. What is an "animal HOSPITAL" for if not saving animals!!! Im completely disgusted and appalled that they wouldn't even look at my darling little yorkie. Rest in Heaven my Sweet Baby.
TL;DR: Misdiagnosed my cat, price was the highest in the area.

I went to the UGA Pet Health Center over the summer to take in my cat who was having issues, they quoted me an amount that was completely out of my budget and gave me poor advice. I ended up going to another Vet who not only had better prices but completely rejected the Pet Health Center's guidance. I was able to reduce what would have cost me $450 here to something like $200 and I bet I could find cheaper if it getting help wasn't so urgent for my cat.

The health center misdiagnosed my cat as blind when it wasn't... how do you get that wrong? Go elsewhere if you want better help and a better price.
I have been using this lab for over 20 years. The service and results are outstanding. I will continue to use this lab as long as I am practicing!
Dr. Yash and her amazing staff always treat me and my pets with kindness and respect. Dr. Yash is very thorough and goes the extra mile to make sure that you will have the correct diagnosis and treatment for your beloved pet.
The Veterinary Diagnostic Lab is absolutely wonderful. They do an excellent job and are always helpful, professional, reasonably priced and accurate. My clinic has been using them for over 20 years and we all appreciate this wonderful service. Thank you!!!

Excellent!! Caitlin was thorough and very aware of the special needs of my baby. Dr Vetter was kind, took lots of time with us, and followed up with a written note to make sure I understood all results. Very impressed.
Love this practice. Dr. Yash clearly has my pets’ best interests at heart. Everyone at the practice is super friendly and they take their time to listen to concerns. Great experience for my geriatric dog and discerning cat.
The vet misdiagnosed my puppy and tried to get me to pay $650 for a bunch of unnecessary tests and treatments. I tried to decline and the Vet started guilt tripping me saying “I couldn’t sleep at night if I didn’t get this test done”. I tried my best to decline but She ended getting $150 out of me for some test my puppy didn’t even need. It turns out my puppy just had worms and I took him to tractor supply vet and got him dewormed and all his puppy shots for 65$.
I cannot write enough good things about the UGA Community Practice Clinic. My cat has previously been seen by a small town vet clinic, but I decided that I would give UGA a try. The transfer of medical records was so easy - they were able to view everything without me having to do anything. My vet team, especially my assigned vet student Erin, were beyond thorough with my cat. They wanted to take their time with me and made sure they got every single detail possible about my cat. Not only did she clearly explain everything to me, but Erin also provided me with a detailed post-visit PDF of all the major points she discussed with me. She addressed aspects of my cat's health that I wasn't even aware of and otherwise would have been clueless about if she had not pointed them out to me. My cat is a bit shy and scared when it comes to vets, but she was in amazing hands when she was there, and even curled up on Erin's lap. If you're looking for a vet, UGA Community Practice Clinic is who you should call!

After checking-in we were “forgotten” and made to wait an hour before being seen. Student vet we were assigned to was not at clinic this day and failed to get another student vet to cover for him/her. Very disappointing. We’ve been coming her for 18 months with our two dogs. Will have to rethink if we continue here.
The lab is great. Much less expensive than the national labs and service customer service has always been good, as well. I am always able to get in touch with the pathologist when I have questions, so I am really happy with their services.
Dr. Sandra has taken care of my horses for years and is hands down, the best vet I've ever used. She is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about horses and is never rushed, taking her time to explain everything she is doing in great detail. You can tell that she knows educating owners is equally as important as treating horses and everytime she comes out, it's a great learning experience for me. I would highly recommend her!
LOVE UGA’s community practice clinic! We have brought our cat to this clinic since she was a baby, and I’m starting to think she enjoys seeing the staff as much as they enjoy seeing her! Even though your pet is in the care of a different student each time, they do an amazing job at keeping the “hometown, family vet” atmosphere and I never doubt that my fur baby is in great hands. The vet students that work there take ample time to discuss any concerns I may have and ask the perfect questions to get a clear picture of my kittens lifestyle, so that they can give me the best options to keep her healthy. The services are abundant and affordable, and the staff goes in to detail when explaining services and costs, as well as considering my budget (without any pressure to spend more). Even when I move away, I’ll drive all the way back to Athens for the UGA community practice clinic!!
Love Dr. Sandra Psillos !!! Very passionate about the best thing for the horses!!! Explains in detail what has to be done and takes the time to show you how to care for your horses. I highly recommend Dr. Sandra Psillos !!!

A student recommended a product, told me I could return it unopened if I needed to (if my cat weighed heavier than they anticipated). My cat weighed more, so I called to see how I go about exchanging the product. Then, the response of the clinic changed and I was unable to exchange the prevention medication. Therefore, I have a 6-month medication that she outgrew in one month and now it's $90 of trash. They did not back what one of their students promised me. That's bad business and horrible customer service in that respect. Most of the other services there were good. But I don't have money to just throw away, and, after this experience, I can't trust what they say.

UPDATED: I did contact the clinic, and I was given a refund. I do appreciate that. For that, I bumped my review to 2-stars. It was sad this couldn't have happened on the first go around.
I've worked here and please do not bring your animals here. The lab is run like a "mom and pop" lab rather than a actual professional lab. Your test results are never accurate and only the supervisors (those not working with animal samples) have degrees. Keep in mind that most of the people working on your samples have no degrees and ALL are paid at the poverty level you should have no confidence in your samples coming back accurately. Bordetella negative? Wrong! Morbillivirus positive or negative? Who knows because the lab managers don't know how false contamination works. When you pay people like Dr. Susan Sanchez 100k a year for not knowing what is going on in the lab or how the tests are run and Dr. Saliki who also has no idea what the lab is doing then you are running a discoordinated lab. Dr. Susan Sanchez gets paid 100k+ to do nothing but sit in her office all day and go to "meetings every day"' that do not improve the lab at all while her own lab team talks behind her back. Do you trust people being paid poverty level wages to run your samples while the supervisors make 100k+/year and have no idea what's going on and no hand in testing your samples? I wouldn't. You're putting your animal's lives at risk sending samples here. For example the molecular lab manager makes about 15 dollars or less an hour for samples crucial to the diagnosis of the animal. A pizza hut delivery driver makes that much or more. The lab doesn't even afford drug tests for the people that are on drugs every shift and I met a few while working there. UGA needs to up their game with their labs or have a better look at this lab in specific.
Please stay away your tests are
inaccurate and poorly handled.
Yes I am a former employee as I said in the beginning.
The help we received from them was great , both my cats had 2 totally different emergency in 2 days. both which was pretty much life threatening. One was attacked by something outside and the other either fell out one of the very tall trees in the back or even possibly hit by a car. They were so helpful and caring. Both of my furr babies are still recovering here at the house and expecting to do fine THKS to Dr. Bennett and the crew there at the clinic. They have got excellent care these past few days. THANKS
