Excellent!!!
Accueil chaleureux. Carte variée.
Je recommande +++

Great location on the beach, lovely friendly staff, service with a smile, great food selection too!

Sehr freundliches Personal, gerne wieder 👍

Sadly my wife was diagnosed with Campylobacter after our meal, suffering Gastro Enturitus for the last 2 weeks before the NHS tested samples, predicting probable cause poorly prepared chicken. 3 others in our party were fine after eating fish dishes. A nice modern French resturant, attentive staff, nicely presented plates. Put it down to bad luck.

Popped in for a Cider. Nice vista overlooking breach. Not open all year round and gets busy during holidays in summer

I haven't had a tajine since visiting Morroco. This took me back 30 years. If you visiting Royan and like North African food I can't recommend this enough.

Worst food we had during our week stay in Royan. My partner started vomiting on the table with "poisson du jour". No-one seems very concerned about his health. I also asked the waitress about my dish which the waitress described as "bouillabaisse", however it was not a fish soup and the fish didn't look fresh. On paying the bill at the till, still no concerns from the boss who stated that the food was freshly cooked and was not prepared to be challenged.
I THINK THE FOOD HYGIENE SHOULD INSPECT THIS PLACE
We ate twice at "le marayeur" and would recommend it if you want to eat some fresh seafood.

Food was not fresh. I vomited after eating the bream. No one was concerned about the terrible food or my health.
Accueil très sympa! !

Stay away from this place!!!!The worst experience with a restaurant!!!The food is not fresh and the taste is horrible!!We asked what kind of fresh they have and the answer was mackerel! When the food come the fish was cooked from frozen fish and it was ordinary fish!!We asked one waiter and she told us that its fresh mackerel 😂😂 they have to take some lesson to make the difference between fresh fish and frozen fish. Also the soup was not fresh…anyway never go there!!!

With a mixed feeling. The restaurant is clean well situated and the only one opened in the area at this time of the year.
The menu is correct as well as the prices.
It was cold inside for an outside temperature of 0C, it remains cold throughout the lunch regardless the Restaurant being full. We noticed the waiter.
We arrived early and we’re almost the first one, thank god as an hour later the restaurant was full. It started well, the service was fluent and attentive, after appetizer we waited quite long for main course and when this one arrived it was just warm. The service staff was overwhelmed by the number of guests and they were only 5 for over 100 guests. On top of it we discovered that only one cook manned the kitchen which explains it all. However the experience was still a good one with courteous service and tasty food. Thank you

Hi all,

The bread, the butter, the wine and beer were nice. For the rest, do not bother. We had a Moroccan style salmon with fenouil; stg we could have made bttr at our house with dumb cooking technologies. As aperitif we had a plateau de charcuterie and it was not good as well. The cured meats tasted not fresh. I we did not finish the plate as we were worried not to become sick during our outing. Staff was fine, nothing worthy mentioning but were not able to provide further assistence after speaking out about the lack of taste. Not recommended.

Small restaurant @ Royan yacht port. Very creative chef - fish combinations I never tasted before.
Nice views from the terrace. Walters where young and un experienced but did their best.
Covid-19 measures where correctly applied.

Lovely seaside restaurant with the care taken to produce top quality food at a reasonable cost. For the price of 21euro I had the couscous tagine with three meats. When it arrived I was taken aback at the size of the meal for one. In the end my wife helped me to finish it off. Topped off with a bottle or wine. Hats off to the owner.

Really great meal. If you like fish/shellfish eat here. Served Razor clams with Parmesan. What a flavour! Their sharing fish platter is just piled high with goodies. Highly recommended.

My wife and I ate at this restaurant several times during our visit to Royan. We enjoyed it each time
Right across the street from the covered market, with good parking. Apparently a secret local delight, this place had a good crowd after the market on Saturday. Everything is prepared in-house, and the chef is recognized for this. I went with the chef's specialty, the seafood choucroute, an unusual but surprisingly tasty French approach to sauerkraut. Great combination; who knew? Royan is close to the sea and the seafood was varied and fresh.
