Nice, fairly clean beach and pier jetting out into the ocean. Parking is horrible but that’s kinda expected. Some of the buildings around beach area need to be renovated or torn down. There’s a power plant or distillation plant just south of pier, which is weird, but we need water right? Overall decent beach and neighborhood area.

Seems like a nice place at first glance. The restrooms are pretty gross all around, Pier ave restaurants/bars are filled with washed up lushes who people watch all day and overpriced food, good place to go on the weekends when everyone is drunk enough to be fathomable 🫣

One of my favorite beaches in California. Got here around 12pm and luckily found a parking spot that is walking distance from the pier. Parking meter was $2 an hour which isn’t that bad. Beach is clean and beautiful. There are restaurants and gift shops all around. I believe you can fish here with a license of course but down towards the end of the dock.

Hermosa Beach is lovely, I walked, sang and dance. Get to the sea and enjoy the sound and the air!

Was actually pretty cool. Not too crowded and lots of sand to run around in. Saw someone driving a car in the bike lane.

Fun to walk, bike or just chill out.

Great place to go eat/drink with friends and watch sports. The boardwalk is also really good for folks who want to walk or bike along the beach. There's a parking structure but it can get pretty full on weekends and holidays.

wow!! the best place to skate in the south bay!! the concrete is butter smooth, but it gets busy sometimes. skaters, walkers, and bikers are all in the same lane which should be organized into two so no accidents could happen (numerous times dogs have approached me because of my skateboard, they just love the sound of the wheels😭).

If there is one thing I miss most about living in California, it would be the Hermosa Beach Pier. More times than any spot in my childhood, I have walked up and down this pier and enjoyed the view with the salty breeze. To my dismay, the end of the pier was blocked off, and I saw no reason listed for the why. I hope that next year it will be available again for our casual relief walks.

Beautiful beach, close to shops and restaurants, amazing to walk and set and swim, perfect for family and friends gatherings, the view and warm sands, everything makes u relax and give u peace of mind, if u r looking for a place to escape daily stressful routine, this would be the one for you

After holiday eating and partaking in adult beverages, I needed a walk in the sun at the beach. Hermosa is one of my favorite places to walk. Friendly people, clean and clear of debris and negativity. To repair any negative ions or if you're feeling a little blue, take a walk at the beach. Breathe and give thanks that we live in sunny California! 🌞

Such a beautiful beach! I'm not sure if I'll ever come back to this part of the world, but I am so glad I got to visit at least this one. The beach is clean, very well cared for. The only complaint, but not that serious, is that there are some people that do not care for the "walking only" areas.

Staying at a hostel around the corner I wanted to see what this pier had to offer!!!

So for starters no skating/rollerblading skateboarding bicycles or dogs.

You can walk fish and sing though :)

It’s about a two to three block walk all the way down the pier.

You will see slot of fishermen and fisherwomen out unless it’s closing time.

This is a busy pier full of life and anyone from someone who is single to a full on family wedding!!!

This pier has an amazing view of the ocean but most of all when you turn around and look the coastal view is one that allowed you to see the architecture in the way the town was created and it’s center points.

Definitely a Pier you should stop at!

Great beach, nice part of the beach for rollerblading or skateboarding, similar to Venice beach, otherwise like that whole part along the coast to Santa Monica. Lots of beautiful houses/cottages along the coast, restaurants and bars. A nice idea to spend the day on the beach with some sport, say beach volleyball or windsurfing. Parking is mostly in parallel streets and is paid at the machine with change.

I absolutely loved my experience at Hermosa Beach Pier! Unlike some other beaches I've visited, the cleanliness of this area was truly remarkable. I was pleasantly surprised to find fewer homeless individuals around the beach, creating a more enjoyable and safe environment for everyone. The picturesque views, combined with the well-maintained surroundings, made for a perfect day by the ocean. I'll definitely be returning to Hermosa Beach Pier for its inviting atmosphere and serene beauty. 5 stars well deserved!

One of my favorite beaches in California hands down 🩷 We visited this beach twice during our stay and we had fun both times. Its not as crazy (or dirty) as the ones closer to downtown LA. Also! The whole area by the pier has some awesome nightlife! And even better food. We definitely are coming/staying around here again

Beautiful beach! The bike path is very nice, but for such a large beach, they should have a bike path separate from walking. Very congested.

Perfect for walking or riding bike for miles …. clean beach. Lot’s of restaurants to grab some food. Beachvolleyball and beachtennis fields…. Puplic toilets are available. Go to Marthas on 22nd for a nice brunch !

Love walking the strand in the morning, in the afternoon, but my absolute favorite is at sunset. It’s so beautiful! These photos have no filter on them! This is just how beautiful hermosa beach is!

Went to go biking in the strand during a holiday where most people I know didn’t have the day off but since I get bank holidays I decided to go out on my own and absorb some vitamin D.

I started from Torrance county beach since normally I can get street parking but I guess that day a lot of people decided to go so I had to park in the lot. The first pay station that I tried wasn’t working and I walked to the further one which made me consider if I should just drive to the other pay station or bike to it but I ended up just walking to it. It cost me 7$ for parking from 10:30 to 8pm. I prob should have turned down the length but sometimes you have to let the waves carry you (A monk told me this when my gma passed away). Oh I forgot to mention I have a vitamin d deficiency but If you followed my other reviews you would know this.

The beaches from Torrance to manhattan beach are really nice and seem clean but if you get up to dockweiler, where there’s some hang gliding that happens but I didn’t see any, might be because it wasn’t windy enough or too early, note it was around 11am when I got there. Anyways it was super dirty there and a lot of trash and the worst part was there was a bunch of big hills going up and down and I was already exhausted at that point and starting to get really hungry. So I turned around and went to search for food and decided to stop at Hermosa.

Bike parking wasn’t too bad there even though it was a holiday and I found a good spot at the pier. Then I went walking down the Main Street and ate at Bonaparte cafe (unsure if this is a Neapolitan reference) and had a sandwich and coffee. I texted my family of me relaxing and having lunch and they said I need to bike an additional 10 mi to lose all the extra weight I would gain from that. They always bully me like this.

Long story short, I then took a nap on the beach and biked back to my car. As I was leaving the parking lot, I ended up taking a loop inside the lot because I had no idea where the exit was and I assumed that it was near the entrance. Turns out it was more towards the end and I just looped back to where my parking spot was and it was a packed lunch so it was slow getting out of the lot. I did do my first 20 mi bike ride so I was pretty happy and felt like I accomplished a lot for a day where I could have wasted it away watching Netflix (not sponsored, but open to it).

Lovely trail/beach walk that runs along the coastline for miles.

Picturesque houses and low rise apartments line the sidewalk that make for interesting sights along the entire path.

Path is wide and great for walkers, bikers, roller skaters, skaters alike

Lifeguard stands , bathrooms and public volleyball nets are plentiful and available on the beach.

Great beach area to lay out on a beach blanket, towel or lounge chair! Excellent shore to walk along, in addition to the Strand. The ocean surf here is moderate for surfing, good for bodyboarding and great for swimming!
The beach here is well staffed with local police and lifeguards.
Trash containers are plentiful and restrooms are spaced out for convenience.

I’ve enjoyed taking in the Strand beach path by bike, continuing on along this beautiful stretch! Here I feel safe from motorized vehicles, as they’re restricted from access.
It’s also a nice walking and running path, mindful of the passing bikes.
The scenic pathway provides awesome ocean and beach views with the ocean air environment, great for taking the bikes to when inland temperatures are up!
During late fall and winter, the ocean views from here can include the distant clouds of incoming cold fronts. And since the ocean’s flat, we can see far off into the horizon what may be.
I’d suggest sun protection when out on the Strand, since visitors can be out in the open for the duration.
Being that the Strand is alongside the public beach, the same amenities usually apply. There’s lot’s of metered street parking, public restrooms along the beach side and trash containers, encouraging users to keep it clean!

Very beautiful beach. Easy access from the street if you're carrying stuff or don't line to be climbing long stairs. Beach is clean and water is clear. The pier is also very pretty.

Best time to be here in early in the morning when everyone is sleeping lol. You get the whole beach to yourself to workout and relax. The sunset from here is definitely lovely. Say hi if you see me training, always happy to say hello

Beautiful expansive clean and safe! Sometimes the shower works sometimes it doesn't. Good swing set and during Peak Seasons there's always a lifeguard or two in the tower! A nice place to take your kids. Parking is by meter so bring your change! You'll also find a great liquor store and grocery Deli right up the hill perfectly located for a snack on the beach.
