STAY AWAY!
I stayed here for a year and it's the worst neighborhood I have ever lived at.
1. The leasing office and maintenance team are fine, but don't expect too much, you get what you paid for. Btw, be prepared for 150$/m for water, sewer and garbage for such a place :)
2. You neighbors don't respect each other. They would talk loudly at the parking lot till mid night, and their kids are screaming and playing at there like it's a park :)
3. You hear every step from upstairs, left and right. If you are lucky enough, you will hear your neighbors party to 3am EVERY WEEKEND, even you called the community patrol or the police, No, they just don't stop :)

I would like to extend my gratitude to the maintenance team, especially the technician Wlodek. They always respond promptly to any issues in the apartment and provide professional services to resolve them. I have had a great experience with the maintenance team.

When it comes to maintenance repairs and the apartments themselves, it’s fast and efficient. The apartments are older, but acceptable and spacious. Rent is reasonable and the location is quiet and near Downtown Bellevue and Factoria which is great.
However, the biggest problem with this apartment complex is the parking and security.
There have been multiple break-ins at this apartment complex. Mainly because it’s located right off the express way, which makes it easy for thieves to just break in, steal, and drive away.
My vehicle has been broken into before as well as some of my neighbors. The police have been to this complex many times, but can’t seem to solve the issue.
I personally believe you need more lighting, especially at the back end of the parking lot. Some type of camera security system is also a necessity. You cannot allow this amount of crime to happen freely here. These are your residents who deserve a safe and crime free environment for what they’re paying.
Parking in general can be a big hassle. At the end of a work day there will be very little spots left, so you are forced to park out front on the side of the main road where your vehicle is not safe at night. It could easily get broken into or stolen.
I believe the parking issue stems from multiple vehicles that are unregistered with the apartment complex taking up spaces. I see a lot of out of state vehicles and vehicles that stay in the same spots for multiple weeks in a row. On top of that there should probably be a vehicle limit of 2 when leasing an apartment here. The complex simply cannot house as many vehicles as you see come through here.
Aside from these two issues of parking and security, it’s a good place to live. The maintenance team is very friendly, fast, and efficient at solving maintenance requests. The office is good at handling problems when you call them. The rent is reasonable. The units and clean, spacious, and offer everything you would need for a comfortable living situation. The pool is nice and the workout room is decent. You have a huge field and trail across the street to take your dogs to. It’s very close to Factoria and Downtown Bellevue as well. The express way is right there too.

Fantastic location. 2 pools and a gym. Leasing office communication can be a bit stressful, but Jessica Rutkovskaya in the leasing office is quick to find answers, professional in demeanor and courteous.

Great apartments, well maintained lawn for kids to play. Maintenance requests are handled promptly - Wlodek and Soroush are great at resolving any issues! Leasing office could be improve at retaining tenants - I know people who would have liked to stay but didn’t due to high renewal cost and uninterested leasing staff.

This apartment management. is NOT ethical in their practices my father sent a check on behalf of my mother. my father and mother are divorced, and my father lives out of state he mailed a check to pay for her rent I brought it to the rental office in September. the check that they said they had not received was deposited in November, they claimed that they could not find the check a month later they deposited it. after my father issued a new check.

The apartment completes the service request on urgent basis. They completed all my service request within a day. The lawns are big, swimming pool are good etc. Everything is good in this apartment. The only problem I have is the floor. When my neighbour walk in their room, I can hear them walking. May be this is USA problem. But it bothers me little bit. I am planning to live in this apartment for 1 year.

Jim the maintence man came by and changed our locks and was very professional and fast. Thanks Jim!

This is a long review, so here's a quick summary: DO NOT live here. I've stayed at 4 other apartments in the Puget Sound area, and this is by far the worst. There are many better options nearby: Cerasa, Excalibur, Aventine, etc. Don't get fooled by the seemingly lower prices here - you will end up paying the same amount in money and much more in mental sanity by staying here.
----- Initial Move-in Problems -----
First, let me start off with the initial state of the apartment. When I walked in, I knew I had messed up in renting from here. I did not get a tour of the apartment (first mistake, I know) before I rented there. The fridge was missing some shelves and was there were yellow stains all over it. I was there for a short-term rental, so I figured I would just live with it. Then, the garbage disposal did not work. The room smelled, and the area under the sink had clear water damage.
I was able to open my apartment window once, but then the handle broke off when I tried to close it. The parking spot I was originally assigned was taken by another car. What is the point of having assigned parking spots if they are not enforced?
----- Maintenance Issues -----
All of the above issues are bad. But they are still fixable if the maintenance staff is competent. Unfortunately, this review exists, so that is clearly not the case. I filed maintenance requests for the critical items above: the window being unable to close (extremely important when it's cold and raining/snowing outside) and the garbage disposal not working. I've lived in apartments before where the maintenance staff is slow to fix things. That sucks, but do you know what sucks even more? When they come in, do not fix anything and "resolve" the request. That's what happened - not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR times for both issues (a total of 8 maintenance requests) for two simple issues.
Not only were the maintenance staff members incompetent, they were rude. I was told that I opened the window too far, and that led to the window not closing. But the other window clearly opened much wider with no issue, and when they actually fixed it (4 months later), there was no problem with it. When they finally decided to replace my garbage disposal (after 4 times - still can't believe it), they insisted on installing it during my meeting (or I could wait 2 weeks, after the end of my lease). Then, they implied I broke the disposal and told me a list of things I shouldn't put in the disposal, which was especially funny since it was already broken when I got there.
I even overheard the maintenance supervisor talking about how they were intentionally not resolving issues because it would cost extra money and that they would only replace it if the tenant complained. I guess that explains the initial state of the apartment.
It wasn't until I almost moved out that I got all of the issues resolved. At least I improved the life of the future tenant (my condolences) in that apartment.
----- Overcharging -----
All of the above are enough reasons not to live here. But, as they say: when it rains, it pours. And it really pours here - they also overcharge whenever they can.
I just received my itemized move-out receipt, and I got a massive list of bogus charges. A small cleaning fee is reasonable. But I got charged $240 for apartment cleaning, $337 for painting (!), and $160 for floorboard repair - all with no photos provided. Keep in mind that this is with no damage other than a broken light switch and some pin holes in the wall (part of normal wear & tear according to Seattle laws).
This is just one review, so you should take it with a grain of salt. However, I suggest reading through the other reviews. You'll see that many of the issues I had here are systemic issues. It's also one of the lowest-rated apartments in the area, despite trying to respond to reviews and having community incentives to leave better ones. So, you don't have to trust me, but I suggest you read through other reviews first and just live somewhere else.

I’ve lived here for 3 years. I’ll list some issues I’ve had…
You can hear everything your neighbors do, there is nothing in place to reduce noise between units. Zero security, my truck was stolen on the property. Our rent has increased by almost $300 just this year alone with no explanation as to why, and there also haven’t been any improvements to our unit or the complex in general. Our dryer hasn’t been functioning properly for MONTHS and they still haven’t replaced it or actually fixed the problem.
They continuously tack on extra charges, wr have to play close attention when paying monthly bills because of this.
When they’ve added extra charges that we did not actually owe in the past , certain members of management such as Helen have tried to force us into paying charges we did not actually owe.
Just really unhappy with this place. I could never recommend it to anyone.

I have had a pleasant experience living at Emerald Ridge. Because the office staff is remote, it can be a little tricky to get someone on the phone, but they always return the call. When the rare issue has arisen, the staff has done everything they can to remedy the situation and/or explain what was going on.
Yes, the buildings are not new and are not well padded for noise. You will occasionally hear your neighbors, but nothing beyond what you would expect living in an older apartment building. Recently, I had an emergency maintenance situation and Kaya went above and beyond to make sure maintenance stopped by immediately. The maintenance team, particularly Luis, is very friendly and doesn't cut corners when making repairs.
The main downside is the traffic on 118th in the early evening and near the 405 junction. Other than that, Emerald Ridge is a great place to live.

The apartment is great but the insulation is very bad. Despite having smoking policy, people smoke pot in their apartments and you can smell it in lobby all the time. Since the insulation is not good you can smell it even from your living room. Tried to reach out to maintenance team but they are not taking any action despite their policy. Also it is very difficult to reach out to them since they are remote. Very disappointed.

I want to express my sincere appreciation for the maintenance team, particularly Luis and Michael. They've proven to be not only highly competent but also incredibly reliable and honest in addressing all concerns I've raised. Their willingness to go above and beyond in answering my questions has made a significant difference. Despite the minor traffic inconvenience on southbound 118 between 4 pm and 7 pm every weekday, the location remains conveniently accessible to both 405 and I-90. It's worth noting that spending nearly 20 minutes in that area during peak hours is not uncommon.

I recently viewed this property and one of their 2 bedroom units. The property itself looked nice and clean upon arrival. The unit I was shown, presented itself as VERY modern and checked off a lot of the boxes on my requirements list. Once my tour was almost over, I viewed some of the properties amenities quickly, such as their outdoor pool. I love to swim so that made me happy. I also was able to view their fitness center, which I was pleased to learn about. The accessibility of having a fitness center on site is amazing because not only would I be saving myself a monthly gym membership, but I could go workout with no commute and know I’ll be safe & close to home. This property is definitely a high contender on my possibilities list. Thanks again to the warm and friendly staff who’ve been communicating w/ me!

First in foremost- Luis is top notch Nicest most efficient maintenance team I’ve ever had in my 7 years Bellevue. Give that boy a raise.
Now for the real talk..
My daughter was scheduled to have a conference call with a “Jen Adams “ ???
Couldn’t tell you if it’s a real person or not.. the meeting was for last month and we’ve NEVER HEARD FROM HER/HIM
Now the matter we wished to speak on was very minimal and not of extreme importance (they did not know that) we received a confirmation the call-meet will take place on (for example) a Monday.
Why is my daughter calling and emailing Tues. Wed. Thurs. Fri. And then when we finally get a lady on the phone (NOT the “Jen adams” but a different lady, she is EXTREMELY- and unnecessarily rude with a sense of “I can’t be bothered with this right now” and proceeds to tell me this Jen Adams person is “very busy” and she’ll get to me when she has a chance??? After a WEEK of calling/emailing
I’ll update this if we ever hear from this Jen Adams but if you’re looking for a unit for a loved one, be prepared to fight tooth and nail to speak to anyone who will give a rats behind.
Again they did not know the matter was minimal.. what if it was urgent/safety matter?
All else, place is clean, and in a good spot for someone who works in town.

Review for the exceptional service provided by Michelle Good.
I was facing challenges gathering information from Essex, as everything is remote, and there was no one available to answer calls or meet on-site.
Fortunately, yesterday, I reached Michelle, who not only picked up my call but also demonstrated empathy and was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, from facilitating the viewing to establishing a clear communication channel. She remained on the phone with me during my entire visit.
I genuinely appreciate your assistance, Michelle, and I hope that Essex can adopt the same level of commitment and dedication that you displayed.
When people take time out of their busy weekdays to go on tours, they invest their valuable time and effort and require support and guidance, along with additional information. It's crucial to be available when something is confirmed.
Thank you.

Horrible management. I moved out a month ago because of excessive noise. They didn’t return any deposit and charged me $150 more for cleaning while the apartment was even cleaner than when I moved in. And they wouldn’t reply to any of my dispute emails.

We've really enjoyed living in Sammamish View Apartments the last nine months. Our two bedroom apartment was newly updated when we moved in, including new floors, new cabinets, new kitchen appliances. We love having our own little backyard, and a great trail nearby to take our dog on walks. And we also have really appreciated how prompt and responsive management is to maintenance requests. When we expressed concern about our washer not working as well as it was before (it's quite old) and Jim Baker III was kind enough to replace it within just a couple days, no questions asked.

No joke, giving this place 0 starsif I could. Trust me, I’m doing you a favor. Do not move in here. The walls are THIN. You can hear your neighbor above having a regular conversation, when they use the bathroom and kids running around. (We’re on the second floor) and have a three year old.
If you try to get a hold of a manager, good luck. They go through a third party and it’s ridiculously terrible. We moved here because we were relocating back to WA from CA and didn’t look at the place before we moved in but let me tell you. You will not be able to enjoy the space here.
I put in 10-12 work orders in 2 months of living here… (this is not a joke) how is that normal? Management won’t meet with me every time I ask to talk to someone. All you get are texts and that’s it. The light bulb needed replacing, our key door needed replacing 3 times in two weeks! The carpet was stained!!
The audacity yall… they even left the previous renters cup in the cupboard and a damn Christmas tree. This place is a joke… good luck.
Almost two months living here and now they’re saying we parked in the wrong parking stall. What?! Give us a break!

I have lived in BellCentre for 2 years and I love it. I'm moving out soon bc I'm leaving the city for few months, but hopefully can return to this building next year. My apartment faces the Amazon office building, but I still get good light and ventilation. It's close to everything and price is reasonable. I don't know how but the apartment keeps cool in the summer (maybe bc it's 2nd floor). Noise insulation could be better, but neighbors are usually very educated and considerate. Maintenance is super helpful and quick to respond (kudos to Reggie and Reza).

Sammamish View is a great place to live! I’ve lived here for 14 years. And the response from Mgmnt (Helen) and Maintenance Mgr (Jim) is quick! I appreciate Helen (Mgr) and all that she does. Recently, I have experienced the Landscapers “blowing” all the ground debri on my car on multiple days, the whole purpose to have a carport is to keep my car as clean as possible. Helen let me know that she will talk to the Landscape Rep and she was so sincere that I appreciate it!
It’s become a little challenging to get to know Sammamish View staff when they are no longer on site and Helen does a great job communicating!

Moved out after 5yrs stay. Cleaning deposit was not returned unexplained. Just checked new leasing units and found identical units are leasing about $400 leases than when I move out at June.
Not very good business practice and bad deal for loyal tenants!
Noisy neighbor upstairs makes sleeping difficult sometimes.

Would not tour again here, terrible customer service. Scheduled a tour and parked in visitor parking and texted the number as instructed, then after a few minutes of no response, called the number instead. Someone answered the phone and was transferring me to another agent, Jamie, when I was hung up on. I called back three times with it ringing until voicemail picked up. They knew where I was waiting and that I was trying to get in for my tour, but no one came, so I walked to the front of the building to see if there was another way in and couldn’t find an entrance. Nobody ever called back or tried to reach out.

DO NOT COME HERE.
I had very bad experience with Palisades. None of the appliances worked fine and had to file a lot of maintenance requests. Their staff sucks at doing their job. We were deprived of basic hot water facility for few weeks in the month of December because of the incompetency of their staff. On top of this, they charged us 1700$ at the time of move out for some made up expenses. I hope someone reads this review before thinking of leasing any essex property.

The managment of this Apartments is awful and they do not fix any problems, they will come and write a message under my review and saying what is the problem and .... they are a liar

Constant internet issues. Ridiculously expensive. The apartment is old and so are the appliances. Sometimes I go to crossroads mall to work because of the internet issues. Washer and dryer cause weird noise. Management doesn’t even bother to pick your call or even respond to emails. I would never live in this community.

Worst community!!!!!!
Unreasonably expensive. The apartment is old and most of the appliances don't work. Washer and dryer are the worst. Internet issues are frequent and management does not care to respond to calls or emails. Wort Place ever!!!!

I hadn’t even got a phone call!!

They are holding (more like stole) money from us. We were supposed to let them know if we move-in with them or not after the application fee was paid. So they hold $400 from us, while they approve us for the amount of our deposit based on our credit score. Since they ended up asking a one months rent deposit ($2,000) I decided not to go with it. Now we are trying to contact them so they can give us that part of the deposit to hold our spot for a few hour while they were “approving” us, and it has been TWO WEEKS!!! That they kept avoiding our calls they even blocked our numbers so it goes straight to voicemail… SCAMMERS! Be careful! DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY TO HOLD NOTHING!!!!

The management team did nothing about my neighbor’s constantly barking dog, and asked me to call the police if I feel disturbed……I have to go out to a cafe to work. And the dog barking would wake me up every morning. I just can’t live and work normally in my apartment. They charge for a pet fee, but don’t actually manage the pet. Also as they manage the apartment “remotely”, they can never come to check how bad the situation is and I can’t actually talk to anyone in person.. feels like I am paying to be punished. DO NOT RENT HERE.

The apartments are in a decent location but the build quality of the units is awful (the walls and floors might as well be papier-mâché). Management staff is almost irrelevant and very late to respond to requests / inquiries. Smoking is also allowed so expect your apartment to wreak like cigarette smoke from any neighbor who might be a smoker (incredibly trashy I’m being perfectly honest). Definitely steer clear, you can find MUCH better quality for the price.

Maintenance is good. Excellent location and management team is super helpful.
Raising requests and paying rent online is easy. Amenities is a little bummer, but price value is great. So no complains.

While applying we have to pay holding deposit around 300$ pluse application fee 48$ after that they do screening with Only limited information that we entered in the website to make decision on your credit score and financial information to decide on your additional security deposit equal to one month rent. No matter how your credit scores i think they only approve the application with additional security deposit if you cancel the application your holding deposit will be forfeited. I hope it helps other to make decision while submitting the application (If you cancel within 24 hours after submitted the application to refund the holding deposit).

Stayed in this community for about 2 years. Overall I don’t have any issues with the apartment complex except the internet service provider. There are only 2 service providers - Dish and century link. There are frequent outages on dish, and it was down for more than a month. Century link provides max bandwidth of 25 mbps in some buildings. T-Mobile home internet doesn’t work in all the buildings.
Official communication from the community manager was that they can’t support new service provider since upgrading the cables is a multimillion dollar project.

The sliding screen door was sticking on the tracks and came off when we tried to open it. Gary came and sprayed the tracks and reinstalled the screen door. Works beautifully now. With everything he has to do, he is always cheerful and outgoing. We really appreciate his hard work.

One of the worst places to live in- if you are a tech worker and need internet, be warned that wifi connectivity is really really bad. Many reputed providers don't want to work with this community. Please ask someone who lives here before signing the lease.

This is the third time they attempt to remove my comment. Shady about payments, package theft, and you goodluck get in contact with their office. DO NOT LIVE HERE FOR WHATEVER IT TAKES.

I give zero score to the managment of this Apartment, in this good spring weather, we cannot open the window of the apartment the bad smell of marijuana fills the whole apartment. When you send an email, they say that smoke is free, yes, free, but it should not cause trouble to others, we are also renting apartment, we should be bothered? A manager should solve problems.

I am currently going through the application process. The Essex (management company) salesperson, Michelle Brown, has been GREAT in responsively as we wait out this period. We have an apartment in our name but there is a lot of paperwork in Washington state that Essex has to fill out in preparing a lease. Thank you, Michelle from Essex!

I put in a deposit for an apt back in January, however decided to go another way. I did this in their timely manner and was supposed to receive my deposit back within 14 business days. That has yet to happen and we are in April!! My leasing agent Charlie Dahl kept in constant communication with me when I was reviewing the apt, however when I chose differently nothing! I’ve spoken with several of their leasing agents including their manager Ben Casteel whom assured me in email he would be on top of this and still nothing!! Such a horrible experience from such a beautiful property!!

Location is good. BUT I have 6 stolen packages in 4 months. Security of buildings is VERY low. Children throwing eggs to the cars when cars are going out of the garage. Wrote email about stolen packages 10 days ago. Still no answer. Lived here for 3 years. Every next year is worse then previous. Light near the grill is broken for 6 months already. They don't want to spend any extra penny to make it comfortable and safe. Fan was broken in the gym for 6 months also. Instead of replacement they just removed it. Stuck in the elevator for two hours with sounded alarm inside. Nobody even said sorry for that.

The staff here can be extremely friendly only until they hook you up with Deposit and Application fee. Once you make your payment, you are completely discarded. Firstly, they do not do their job of verifying if essentials are taken care like equipment, basic clean up, blinds, etc. to make sure new tenants are good to move in. The modern day trend I've observed lately especially in Bellevue is that they expect new tenants to find issues and report them as maintenance issues even before they move in. This is done when you want to submit any complaints you might have before you move in. Some things you will end up noticing after you move in. Then you are stuck with bad management who will disregard your emails or phone calls. The worst part is that most of your calls go to their automated systems and no one cares to call you back. I lost my $300 deposit and $50 application fee because I didn't want to move in to a unit that was not fully ready to move in. The staff here can be very rude when you complain about obvious issues. It's their duty to do preliminary checks before they force people to sign up. Its my fault to believe such people in the first place. But I didn't want to deal with such people and chose to lose my deposit. I'm now well situated with a better management as they are very professional. Long story short - this place is not worth it. I've given honest feedback to the management but they didn't bother to return my money saying they cant repay my deposit because they took the unit off the market for a while assuming I would sign the lease. But hey, your apartment and staff is not worth it. No thank you!

If I could give this place no star I would. Management is beyond horrific no one ever answers calls, no one ever responds back to emails or texts. The people in the office aren't management 2 ladies came out the office and were no help to me at all and had no clue about how to help me with anything they said contact your community relations team. How can I contact anyone if they don't respond back in a timely manner this is ridiculous. What if there's an emergency and there's no one to call. I've dealt with lots of bad customer service but this is by far the worst in history. Then on top of that my mailbox doesn't match what's on my apartment. NEVER EVER MOVE HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT.

The apartments are good, but their customer service sucks. Leasing office members are never available, maintenance requests takes forever to be addressed.
Their maintenance manager is very rude, he doesn’t fix the problem and he comes home and yells at us all for raising the ticket.
Also when I moved in, there were a few issues like the fridge had worm crawling out of it, the bath tub was not resurfaced, the bathroom door paint had chipped off, and I had pointed this out to the maintenance manager, he said that it’s regular wear and tear. But when I was left the apartment, I was changed 500$ for just the bathtub, and I was charged for the door paint as well, later I had to contact the Essex community and get this fixed, the apartment maintenance is horrible, but the Essex community manager had to go through all the emails I had sent to the apartment managers and got that deducted from the move out charges.

I was trying to lease one of their apartments. However, the problem with Essex in general is, they have gone completely remote and many times their agents don't pick up calls, reply to queries etc. The common excuse which they have is we are understaffed etc.
I personally think, it is better to lease in a community where at least some leasing agent is available to reach out to in case of any queries/issues.

Lived here for 10 mo.
My sincere suggestion is you should NEVER choose to live here nor any apartment operated by Essex.
Their management is a mess. When I try to renew the lease, they raised it from 1.8k to 2.1k, however, the price they gave to new residents is 1850 with 2 weeks free. Then I tried to talk to the leasing office, after a long waiting, they said they can't give me the same price and insisted to raise the rent to 1900+.
But the worst part is the move-out. They'll try to charge you everything possible even for pre-existing conditions. The past account officer Bonnie Ervin is arrogant and helpless. I sent him the emails, photos and other evidence indicate those conditions are pre-existing and not caused by me, he still insists the charges
are valid and can't be removed, and refuses to give any detail explains.

Worst apartment ever! There are so many reviews about packages getting stolen/lost. We made a mistake by ignoring these reviews.
Me and my roommate have lost 6 packages so far in last 10 months.
The management does not take any responsibility for the lost packages. We have also filed police reports, asked to have CCTV cameras in the mail room but no action has been taken from the management at all. I have lost thousands of dollars in my packages and also lost so many valuable things that I can’t replace.

June 2023:
We're having internet issues again. I just spoke with a Dish technician who filled me in on why there are so many issues. The fiber cables are 25 years old, and property management refuses to do any work to modernize them. Apparently the 6-week outage late last year lasted so long because management was refusing to pay for new parts.
Property management tries to make it sound like Dish is at fault, but this is entirely Piedmont's fault. Management is incredibly dishonest about the situation, I wouldn't recommend leasing here.
December 2022:
Awful apartment complex that refuses to fix the internet infrastructure. We just came out of a ridiculously long outage.
In the end, the internet outage lasted from 10/25/22 to 12/7/22 - totaling a staggering 43 days with zero internet service. Dish is giving 2 free months of service to make up for it. I sincerely hope this does not happen again.

Stayed here for 6+ yrs. Beautiful, clean and green community bang on NE 8th street, but rent is on the higher side with no option to negotiate when renewing lease. Close to Walgreens, Safeway, Fredmeyer and public schools in BSD.
Would have been great if it would have been a gated community as it's on the main street, lots of theft incidents happened few years back. There were no security cameras in driveways or common spaces when I used to stay.

Mark and Heather in the office are outstanding. The maintenance team is wonderful. I have never experienced such personal care and consideration from an apartment complex. They are attentive and are able to solve any issue quickly and efficiently. We love that it is such a wonderful place to live for families and pets. Also the new electronic door locks are amazing! I haven't had to dig for my keys while carrying bags since they were installed. Honestly, take a chance with this beautiful community. You won't regret it!!

Management responds promptly to queries.
Very smooth move in and move out process.
Sound isolation is very good between the hall and bedrooms.
We stayed in the top floor (second), and the below neighbors never complained about any sound, despite playing music at a good volume.
Old apartments with lower prices.
Nothing much to say about the amenities, the pool was not maintained during our stay.

We lived at Woodland Common for 2 years and had moved out at end of July. Our experience at this place was fun, free style, and cozy until an unexpected water leak from the upstairs tenant, and heavy smoking neighbor. The management team was great, and the maintenance staffs always shows up when you need them. I always appreciate them being courtesy and making move in-move out, and during the stay very easy. (yeah, trying to compare the service with LA... )
There are a lot of kids in the neighborhood. Some people find them noisy but to us that means the place is really safe. The apartment is located right next to B line bus stop, which is easy to access to downtown Bellevue or Crossroad Mall. It's a walking distance to grocery shopping. We personally like the place a lot.
It is not until we move to a new city and experienced a terrible management team to find this place wonderful. If you just need a place to start new life in a city, this is a good place. :)

Worst!!! Hope I could give less than 1 star!
I will never recommend anyone leasing apartments under Essex management and especially in Ellington At Bellevue.
Every time I talk to leasing office I have to send them 5-10 emails or have to directly go to the office and wait for them as they doo not answer calls or reply to emails. When I went to leasing office with my concern they will respond saying we never faced fire before so we have no idea about the situation and how long it will take.
The have the worst management, unresponsive leasing management and they always keep customer at the lowest priority.
Worst Experience
Essex Apartments
- Ellington Properties
Reached out with the concern still, requested to change the apartment, Apartment has no walls, there is no security, gate is not fixed, have open electric cables everywhere.
Worst Experience in Essex Apartments- Ellington at Bellevue.
There has been a fire incident in the Ellington Apartment Since then my apartment is in Unlivable condition. We have reached out with the concern still no help from the management yet , its been more than a month.
Management and leasing office will never pick calls. We email them asking for help. They usually dont respond for a week and then they keep saying thy will call back, and no response in weeks until we reach out again. Never had such experience with any apartment complex before.
I need help. Its getting difficult living in this apartment.
I sent them below email:
-------------------------------------------------------------
I am resident of C110 .I am writing to request change of my apartment to a similar amenity apartment in C building due to these reasons.
1. Since the fire incident, we have been patiently waiting for things to return to normal but my apartmrnt has been in a pathetic state since most of last month.
2. I feel very unsafe living in the apartment without any doors and proper walls
3. The apartment has lots of noise entire day and I can not work since I am an engineer who needs reasonable silence to work.
4. The apartment is not in a condition to have anyone over and I feel very depressed being alone all the time.
Also please note that very high power fans have been running 24 hours from a power outlet in my apartment, and I am not liable to pay for that power.
I have already paid rent for last month despite all these inconveniences but unfortunately I can not stay at the apartmrnt anymore. I will not be able to pay any rent for the current apartment after few days, probably after this week.
Please provide me another unit in the building so I can have a regular stay at Ellington. I was expecting it to be coming from you to take care of tenants but that does not seem to be the case.
Please consider this as very important and urgent since its affecting both of residents' well being.
We got response saying we are looking into your case and no help since them its been more than 2 weeks since I raised my concern.

This apartment complex has one of the most beautiful apartments in the area! My apartment had the biggest windows and a picture perfect balcony view all year round.
I worked and lived there for several years and I still miss my old apartment 🥰
If you are a new commerce like I was, this community will make you feel at home 💚
⭐️ Service and staff is great as well!⭐️

If you are just moving from India to Seattle/Bellevue - this place along with Woodland commons and Madison bellevue would be your best bet and probably the one people would recommend. Foothill wins among all due to its floor plan, access restricted entry & elevator in some buildings.
Pros:
1. Good floor plan- spacious, good ceiling height. Building 10, 11 have views of downtown bellevue, especially if it is facing south or west.
2. Very nice usable Gym/pool
3. Awesome location near 148th Fredmeyer/chaat house/apna bazaar shopping area and Downtown bellevue
4. Great maintenance staff, leasing staff - kudos to Lizet, Iraq, Shania and Soroush.
5. Very safe - i know there were some package thefts but in general the place is very safe. We were not in our apartment for few months and it was untouched when we came back.
6. 95% Indians mostly working in Microsoft or Amazon. Plenty vanpools etc. It matters especially if you are new to USA and you feel more comfortable in Indian crowd(very personal trait, eventually it wont matter, but it did matter to us in the first year we immigrated)
Cons:
1. Some apartments have floor noise both from above and below(cracking sound when you walk)
2. No parks in walking vicinity - all you have is within community to stroll around.
3. Rents are among the highest in the area for garden communities.
I see some reviews on how foothill charged for move -out. It is funny since i don't understand why people forget labor charges in US. We moved twice within foothill and they charged us standard rate - carpet cleaning and apartment cleaning. If you want to even save 200-300 bucks at move out, and spend your time and effort tying to save this much, the joke is on you. When you get an apartment you get it in pristine condition. So when you move out, how can you expect that the next occupant will do good with your level of your cleaning? Especially funny since a lot of people who live in Foothill are engineers earning much more per hour than they want to blame foothill for. :)

I rarely leave comments but I feel like I needed to this time.
Very poor management! Moved out end of June. I was told that the house only needed basic cleaning when we did the move-out inspection walk, and it was mentioned that I would only get charged for that. Then, I ended up got surprisingly charged for a total of $275 for basic cleaning $75, extra cleaning $50, carpet cleaning $75, and replacing ONE blind slate $75. There is a lack of transparency for any of those charges and I feel like they just wanted to deduct my deposit as much as they could. Will never recommend anyone to live there!!

Excellent location and value compared to most other places to rent in the area.

It's a really good place to live in

I wish google gives an option to give negative rating on a review and I would have given it to Palisades leasing office management.....I suggest Dont ever take an apartment in this community, while signing up the lease they entice you with nice words but when you actually move in the apartment will be not a cleaned one, so many repairs and fixes will be just left like they are and you will have to keep creating maintenance requests to get them fixed as and when you get into problem.... when I moved in the apartment was not cleaned there was just basic vacuuming done but the windows, balcony, entrance door were having spider webs spread across, the commode, bath tub was not draining well and Kitchen stove was not cleaned at all and one of the burner was not in working condition plus kitchen sink motor was not working.
now that I have moved out they are over charging me for the things that they replaced although they were working fine and just had normal wear and tear, also I left the apartment more cleaner than what they had given me and more functional. the only mistake I did was that I didnt capture photos of all the defects and broken things.
Although I had raised these things in their survey but God knows who looks into the survey feedback and tries to improvise to provide better customer service.....but you be careful if at all you have to sign up a lease here based on various reasons. I hope this review helps all those who are considering taking a lease in this community.
Hi Debbie I knew you would respond, thanks for that. apparently google does not allow to reply on a response or add another review so I had to edit my review, so Debbie can you share the list of work orders I had submitted during my stay so I can post them here and add clarity to what you said about giving the apartment to new tenants in good condition and expect the same from them? also I had requested Invoice receipts of all the charges you guys have posted on my final bill from Leslie Pollack but she is not responding on that. I want to ensure that the charges appearing on my bill were really addressed and they are not phony or just getting charged to me but also that the new tenants at the apartment I used to live are not going through what I went through during my initial days.

Such a beautiful spot and in a convenient location. Near lake Sammamish, i-90 trail, shopping, and the Park and Ride! We love living here. Glad to have found this gem. Life is good here.
One complaint would be that the office seems understaffed. Many times will call, no one is in. Leave a voicemail, no reply. E-mail, no reply. Finally go to the office and hope someone is in. It's difficult for us to stay on top of things too when we have to keep trying over and over to get a question answered. Some concerns I have e-mailed about or left messages on VM still haven't been responded to and I just gave up. Implementation of the new parking assignments and fee policy seemed rushed and chaotic. We understand they are doing the best they can though, and we appreciate their patience with us too! Staff is very friendly and accommodating when you can get a hold of them.
We feel so lucky to have found this community! Plenty of grade-school age kids for our son to play outside with (yes kids still play outside these days!) We are glad he is having a real childhood with so many friends in the neighborhood.
We held our small wedding shower at the Cabana and will never forget! It was so beautiful. My cousin loved the location so much that we hosted her baby shower here as well!

We stayed in Woodland Commons (WC) for 2 years and everything was great until we moved out. We had to break our lease as we were moving to a different state. Our apartment was little old and when we rented the apartment the leasing agent told us that the apartment is not renovated because the previous tenants left the apartment late and WC did not have time to replace the old carpet, cupboards, and appliances. We paid the lease breaking fee and other charges, but Woodland Commons also charged us for carpet replacement. We confronted them showing the initial pics of the apartment with the old carpet and told them it is WC responsibility to replace the carpet. They showed us a receipt (showing that they changed the carpet) and told us that we have signed the lease where it is written that it is tenants’ responsibility to replace the carpet. We did not have any other proofs so that to pay for the carpet replacement fee. But, from the pics below anyone can figure out that is not a new carpet (there are several patches).
Second thing, they closed our rent café account prior to our move and now they are saying that because we are not in their new system, we will have to pay extra dollars to make the payments through a phone call. It is really sad because had such a good time with this community and it is ending with this experience.

Place is near to a lot of Indian grocery stores and crossroads mall. Bus connectivity is very good. Service is okay type; not very good.
Gym is not well maintained. You see broken treadmills etc for far too long and sometimes it smells bad. Also sanitizer towels are not replenished promptly. Swimming pool is useless. Rent is too high for the house build quality.
Mold issues are there.
Electricity bill will be $200+ for 1bhk in the winter due to build quality.

Palisades was my home for almost 2 year, i would say i haven't seen the other community is as peaceful as palisades. Community maintenance service is really good and professional, every time when i ask for any maintenance service they had done it on time. My move out was also easy and nice. I would specially say thanks to community manager Debbie, she is very helpful and understanding. I had to leave to India due to some unavoidable circumstances and i explain this situation to Debbie, she made the paperwork easy and worry free. Best part is, when i received my final move-out charges, there were some dues on me which i was not expecting as dues. I contact to Debbie and she immediately took a look for the charges added on me and send me the final bill with refund of some amount. If i get another chance to come to Seattle, Palisades would defiantly be my home.

Worst Service. Won't recommend this Apartment. They smile and say something when you move in and say different things when move out. Constantly increases rent every year by 15%. In my 2 years experience in this apartment, once my apartment storage was broken and some bags were stolen, when asked the management, they simply said winter season, so homeless might have done it and just changed the locks. Another instance, some homeless broke the laundry room and stayed there, when raised a complaint, management again said "It is winter season, so we can't help, this is everywhere across Bellevue". Once my neighbor told me some stranger is roaming around your apartment and when complaint was raised to the management they simply said you should have called 911 instead of telling us.
For an 8 years (myself 2 years and previous tenent 6 years)old leased apartment, they expect everything(carpet, blinds, paints) to be new when we moving out. Which means they never want to do anything on their own and get everything from tenants even though the apartment is old.
When we move in, they said this apartment has 5 years old carpet, so no need to worry while move out. But still we maintained it well and gave them clean. Now instead of replacing the 8 years old carpet , they just charged cleaning charge from us for an well maintained carpet and renting the apartment to the new tenant with the same old carpet.
They said during move out that 8 years old glass stove top should be like new and they charged full amount for the glass stove top replacement. If they charged us 50% means fine, but they charged full amount for the old stove top.
If someone is planning to vacate this apartment, please don't clean and give, which is of no use, at least we can save our cleaning time. They will anyway charge the default amount(full security deposit + 400 plus), even though if we give it very clean. During inspection they will say everything looks good, but they will send you an huge amount over mail as a move out charge.

This is good apartment in terms of public transport access, the location, etc. Apartment has decent amenities and the maintenance is very good, and it's a very safe neighborhood

It was great being here, lived one year at Piedmont. Very live place with all amenities nearby. Rent is too high not worth and apartments are old. Faced difficulties such as roaches and long wait for service done. We adjusted one month while upgrading pipeline for the water supply of whole building. Office administration was good and staffs ware friendly.
