As a loyal customer, all the way from California, for years, I can’t say enough good things about the knowledge, products and most importantly, integrity of of the team at Flatspot. I have trusted them with everything from wheel recommendations to skate itineraries and highly suggest a visit to them when in the BC area.
Solid crew here. I have know Les for over a decade. He was back then a community driven person and what he has built over the years is a manifestation of that. In a city engineered for small businesses to fail, it’s nice to see this one keeping it real. We need community in this city and Les and his team are doing their part!
Les is the best! Went over and above to help me get some tricky to find pivot cups! Thanks for being so helpful and accommodating!
Les was fantastic! He was VERY helpful and made me feel super comfortable in choosing the board right for me. He gave me lots of different options and he really made sure I was purchasing a board I'd be happy with. My boyfriend and I were in there for a couple hours so we appreciated the large chunk of time he took out for us. I got a complete deck, the Landyachtz Dinghy Chartreuse and im stoked to start ripping on it. Thanks Flatspot!

EDITED TO SAY: if I am being completely honest, it seems like this shop family is being affected by addiction and I would encourage people to be aware and offer support.

I had an amazing experience getting set up with new boards and protective gear for my daughter and I. The owner’s experience and knowledge assured me our gear was a perfect fit, and his enthusiasm lifted our start with this sport. Recommendations for local groups and community activities was also much appreciated, as was the no pressure, patient and caring service. Will be telling friends about this place.
Selection, Communication, Shipping, everything was so rad. Cannot thank the crew enough for shipping my new gear to Sask for me. As far as i know if got here in 2-3 days, which was far beyond anything i expected. I'm beyond stoked with my new gear. The reccomendation/upgrade on the knee and elbow pads was spot on and so appreciated, they're super comfy and fit perfect. I even got a handful of stickers with my stuff! Thanks a bunch!!
Amazing skate shop with tons of different brands and products to pick from. They also have a mini bowl inside with some skate ramps which is super sick!! The owner is super friendly and a lot of help, any time I'm out this way I will definitely stop in to say hi and shred some gnar on there ramps!!
This place is Dope!
Kinda mid but the ledge and flat bar are great
You can hear the wheels hitting the wooden ramp in the background, walls adorned with boards, and wheels shining on the shelves.

This is it, you've found it.

That skate shop has character, a soul that tells stories of passion and freedom.

I left my board in a closet 5 years ago; I had to find my way back to riding.

Les was incredible. He helped me get back on a setup perfectly tailored to my needs.
I was so excited when he handed me the board we had just built.

Nothing has been overlooked: what do you need, how do you ride, which sensations are you hunting for?

A few moments later, my son and I were trying it out, pure joy.
Thank you so much 🙏

DIY under a bridge. What more do you want?
The ground is slanted. The ledges grind real good and there is lots of open space.
Historic and Memorable.

It's a really nice park.
this skatepark is pretty good, it has some pretty good features where you can’t really find at some other skate parks. it has a lot of downledges, some flat bar rails, a really long ledge, a quarter pipe, manny pad, and a couple of other obstacles you can skate. there’s also a park right next to it as well as a small walking trail too, which makes the park pretty accessible, it’s also located in between a neighborhood so it’s not too busy most of the time. for example, when i went there was only one person there and that was it, so basically i had the skatepark to myself. the skatepark also has a water fountain and washrooms right beside it which makes this skatepark really nice. however, one downside to this skatepark is that it’s really small, and after a while of skating here, it does get a bit boring because there isn’t that much obstacles to skate since it’s a small skate park, but overall it’s still a good skatepark and one that i’d definitely recommend checking out if you stop by here.

Good spot— smooth concrete just a bit small so if busy, ppl tend to get in the way.
A very old park and a bad surface, but it has its charm.
Always have fun here. Kinda the realest street park on the planet:) Except the rails have difficult runway!
Smells like pee in some spots and the run up to the down rails are kinda bad but the park itself is fun as hell.
Not a fan, the features don’t seem to have much flow to them. And there’s not many features either.

This is an awesome skatepark. The bowl looks super legit!
Fun park and good ground but rlly dirty and smells bad
A great place to skateboard; you can do many tricks there.
K park rocks! Very skate friendly park for intermediate riders. A good spot for when there's a lot of snow, good hill beside the park and jumps conducive to skiing/boarding urban.
If there was a bathroom it wasn't clearly marked... needs a bathroom. Cute little park though and easy to access.

Legendary skate spot, every skater in Canada knows about this spot or has seen it in videos or photos at one point. Not just skateboard vids, snowboard vids too! Was an absolute joy to finally visit this place, lots of incredible local graffiti, and the vibe there is epic! They also have lamps so once it’s dark, you can still chill there and have a good time!
"Vancouver Skate Plaza successfully uses an underutilized scrap of industrial land under the Georgia Street viaduct and transforms it into an internationally recognized street-style skateboarding plaza. The design was developed in close partnership with the Vancouver Skate Coalition, the Vancouver Police Service, and surrounding community members" www.newlineskateparks. Very good community in this park and skilled skateborders the parks is well new and well thinked
Can't comment on how fun it is to skate there since i haven't tried it myself but love the art though
Tiny and not well maintained. Bottom of both the bath tub and toilet bowl had a lot of dirt. Sides are quite steep.

Small. We had the park to ourselves for like 5 mins and then a group came by and totally dominated it and ended up forcing us to use the basketball court. This is a beginner park. They should make it bigger
I have been using this skatepark for many many years and honestly it's not the best. It's very limited in features and there is so much adjacent space that the city could use to expand the park. There's a single rail, some boxes, a concrete highway divider feature, and a slight incline or two

I love the art and that there are places like these for artists to display their Talants, the art work is changing continually so it's a very cool place to photograph graphite.

Horrible layout and impossible to ride if theres more than 5 people there.. typical newline skatepark with no coping on top of the ledges. Random rail and grass patch right next to the bowl. The jump next to the rail leads into nothing. Good park to practice your ollies and carves but thats about it.
Great park but its the size of a backyard

Nice park but it’s kinda small. If ur having a solo sesh or just skating with a few other people it should be fine but when the park gets crowded it gets hard to skate

As a beginner skateboarder I really liked this park. It doesn't have too many features but it's a great spot when you're just starting out.

Also has a basketball court area that you can practice on flat ground
The skatepark itself is decent with a small bank, downledge, wall ride, rail and other stuff. The only bad thing about this skate park is that it’s just small, so if you are planning to ride bmx here, i’d not recommend doing it since the skate park is small on bmx. But on skateboard and scooter it’s fairly decent to ride.
Bowl is rough and gnarly, only recommend if you actually can skate proper bowls/pools. Street setup is average at best and the miniramp is rubbish. Decent if you're close, definitely not worth a drive though.

Not a bad skate park that has a bowl, banks and some rails. The only bad thing about this skate park is that it’s kinda small, so there’s not that much space to ride. Especially when it’s crowded, and which usually around the afternoon it is crowded. But other than that it’s still a decent skate park.
I have been here before and the experience was pretty great, with ledges, banks a quarter pipe, a roller a rail and a few other things. I had many great experiences on bmx and scooter. The only bad thing is it does get crowded especially on the weekends and around 12 to 6 pm, keep in mind that this skate park is kind of small to. The crowding situation isn’t bad it’s just that sometimes there are many people riding there and there’s a chance they could crash or snake each other. Other than that it’s still a pretty good skate park to go to on skateboard and scooter. I don’t really recommend bmx since the skate park is pretty small and if you bring a bmx when it’s crowded, you may not even be able to ride there since there’s so many people and a bmx is a bit big compared to skateboards or scooter.

So I’ve been to many other skate parks and this one is decent because almost everything there is just quarter pipes and half pipes which can get boring kinda fast, but they do have a little box jump in the middle of the skate park which is nice to do and really smooth. Sometimes in the future I do come here because when it’s raining or when it’s wet, I come here because the skatepark is located in a tunnel under E Hastings st which is nice.
It's a great local skateboard park.
Nothing pleasant about this park. Mound unpleasant park is more like it! But God i love to eat my 6 inch hearty Italian tuna subway here. It might be the level of my hatred that brings me back but, I'm unsure. But Vancouver you can do better.
Does not have public washrooms but in vicinity of stations with bathrooms that are accessible to people with wheelchairs.
decent for more advanced skaters who just wanna do firing runs. otherwise, it is too small for more that 5 people to share (and thats pushing it) so careful when you there i guess👍🏻
Sweat bmx spot lol open Park form 12 am to it's dead there's so much to do there for a smaller park it's nice to have it's all to myself 12 am to 9am. and the ppl that go there are Kool like to hit it up every other day eswsr

My favourite park, it's got really nice concrete, a cool little bowl that's fun for all skill levels, and a nice selection of other features. It attracts a diverse crowd in the mornings, but can get a tad busy in the afternoon.
Sick park too small though
The Bathtub was chill enough for me, a new skater, to try. I'll work up to the Teacup! Families love playing in these bowls but they definitely give priority to skaters and bikes.

Great for kids, beginners up to professional skateboarders. For everyone! Really safe considering the tent city. Sweet vibes here always.
Once I was riding bmx here a long time ago and someone called me Bob Saget and I'll never forget that

Great park super unique and fun to use. Gets moisture on it during the winter a lot but otherwise great.
Amazing I absolutey love this I am an intermediate skater and this would be best for beginner and intermediate skaters
Went for inline agressive, the park itself is nice a bit dirty (actually had to clean it with some kids) but good enough to have a nice time no matter the level. Bowl is kind of weird since there is no drop.
1st Skate park in Canada, built in 79. Tea Cup and Bathtub. Community Gardens newer updated children's park. Lacking a public washrooms and or water fountain at least.

We heard a lot about this park and how we needed to check it out while we were visiting Vancouver for the summer. The park can be tricky to find if it’s your first time there. The park used to bean old viaduct via a tunnel which they converted in to a skate park in honour of a slain artist/passionate skater. Check this place out if you have the chance just for the artwork. RIP Lee Matasi

In a former transit tunnel under the Cassiar St. Connector at the intersection of East Hastings St and Highway 1
Directions:
Go 1 block south from east Hastings on Windermere St.
Turn east on E Pender St. Go to the dead end
Turn left into the lane behind the Ecomm building.
Leeside will be straignt ahead
Limited parking in the laneway leading to Leeside
On street parking on East Pender. Don’t park in the access to the commercial building & Leeside.

Took a hard bail here the other week. A few of us at the park agreed that the rail here has day where it sticks and days when it runs, always check it out I guess. The coping on the ledges here rides really well, this park is really fun to connect grinds and slides and is a good place to get comfortable on smaller ramps and kickers!
The gap kicker is great if your more advanced. Outside of a few curbs and a bank wall this park is pretty small and pretty steep. The mini half pipe is even so steep and fast there is really no flow. The gap kicker about 3 feet high and a launch to another ramp with a 30” gap is the main feature. If you are a great bowl skater then this bowl is pretty advanced

My 4yo enjoy coming here with his balance bike. I liked the fact that other grownups and older kids don't mind sharing with younger kids like mine.

Could use a bit better drainage. Decent spot. Out of the way and not too busy
Playground for younger kids and a teacup and bathtub bowl for skaters. Green space as well for ball sports. Like most skate parks in Vancouver, you will find a bunch of millennials smoking and sometimes drinking at the skateboard area.
