I did the self guided tour and it’s not worth £13-£14 at all. Really steep for just learning about prisoners’ lives without correlating it to the troubles that N.Ireland has in the past few decades.
We were not sure about spending several hours of our holiday in jail, but this was a very interesting and worthwhile attraction. Particularly interesting was the detailed explanation of "the troubles" that occupied the news for many years when I was young.

This was a really interesting visit with lots of interactive displays. I would definitely recommend a visit here. The cafe (which is inside the gift shop) is also very reasonably priced.

Fantastic experience, highly recommend people experience this first hand. Tour can easily be 2 to 3 hours access to the car park is off Crumlin road road, going onto cliftonpark ave, taking the available right for the distillery that's rear of the prison.

A really interesting experience, and I do mean experience. There are a lot of cool exhibits (including holograms!) and many videos that portray what life would've been like for inmates. There are also sections on escapes with interviews of some escapees!
The rich history of Crumlin Road Gaol is delved into during this experience, it's definitely worth a look if you're in Belfast.

Well worth the visit. It's not massive and we were there probably an hour and half. Very informative with great information all the way around. Was worth the money.
2nd time been here since 2014.. Love this Titanic museum.. Took my Daughter here for her birthday in her dream comes true. She have really enjoyed it so much..
Well rounded museum with the history of Belfast and how it became so important for building ships, then onto the history of the Titanic being built (with an interactive ride!), then eventually to the sinking, rescue efforts, a memorial, and how they found where the ship is now. Definitely worth a visit. We went right at opening and there were a few young school groups there, but we didn’t end up seeing them throughout the exhibit. Recommend checking out the slips and SS Nomadic after.

Awesome. Amazing building and every piece of technology available has been used to tell the Titanic story. I would recommend you take around 2 hours to do the place justice. Audio guides were also very useful to have. Also good eating options if you are in need of refreshments.
Very fascinating history with well thought out exhibits and a very helpful and informative audio guide to take you through.
It was quite busy when we were there and as a result of that found that people were shoving past to keep moving, particularly at some of the exhibit entrances that were quite narrow.
Overall, I really enjoyed this visit and would recommend visiting if you are in Belfast.

Absolutely awesome experience bringing alive history from the moment you arrive.
I would highly recommend getting the audio tour as you go around but this took us around two hours on a day when it wasn't very busy.
You can only buy tickets in advance to attend so, pop on the official website. What I would say is that general admission tickets with audio tour, is more than enough

This has got to be one of the best museums in the UK! And its free! So much thought put into each exhibit and its extremely informative - the history section spanned from prehistoric to present day in an easy to follow format with great artefacts. The 'elements' section was brilliant. The cafe is reasonably priced and the architecture is beautiful. You could easily spend upwards of 3h here. Well worth a visit if you're in Belfast.
It was the most amazing experience I've been to. Deeply moving, but very well portrayed from the days of linen weaving to that fateful moment in history. Very interactive for all to see, the building of the Titanic was absolutely mind-blowing, and to stand above where she was built and launched was a privilege. The staff were very knowledgeable and extremely polite.
Amazing experience, so much to see and i know we missed some. Already can't wait to go back. Very friendly staff and the gift store is definitely worth a visit.

Access is free to visit and no bookings required. We found the museum collections location difficult and struggling without a map. Ulster Museum is home to Northern Ireland’s treasures of past and present. I absolutely love this museum! Visiting this place is always a highlight of my trips to Northern Ireland. My partner is a local and introduced me to the museum in June 2022. Even though we had to hurry through the exhibits (and missed quite a few) since the museum was closing early due to a private event, we enjoyed ourselves very much. The warm and friendly staff made it even better and that hospitality was incredible. We were greeted as if we were family and guided as to how to best enjoy our time. Upon leaving, I was encouraged to take a quick survey by an amazing gentleman who was happy to find out where I traveled from (Georgia, USA!). My partner and I were excited to see this same kind man was still working at the museum in July 2023. His name escapes me, but he truly makes this annual trip to the museum worthwhile. Our second trip was even more amazing as we got to explore and experience each floor at our own pace and at the end, in the gift shop, was our bespectacled friend! I'm sure he was surprised to see us a year later after our first visit together. I can't say enough about this museum! I love telling people I flew 4000 miles just to see the Renoir painting and I am excited to see what new exhibits will be there this summer.

One of my favourite places to visit. I absolutely love titanic Belfast. There is so much history and the experience teaches you all about the Titanic is lots of different ways using lots of different mediums. The whole thing is engaging from beginning to end. You can see what a room would look like. You can take a look at how the ship was painstakingly constructed and you can understand the political climate of the time. Those who’s lives were lost are respected and remember in the exhibition and I would recommend this to anyone In Belfast.
Went for the Magical Christmas Experience. It was magical and amazing. My wee boy loved it. The woman who was the Chief Elf was amazing. My son is autistic and was scared to see Santa, she talked him through it and managed to get him to go meet Santa, which he ended up loving. Santa was brilliant too, took the time to talk to my son, put him at ease & was just really patient.
We also went for the festive Afternoon Tea. It was brilliant. Food was great, the room was lovely. The live music was a nice touch. And of course the staircase was amazing. The staff were lovely and attentive.

I loved the experience, there was lots to see and plenty of space, so it did not feel crowded. The indoor tropical garden was amazing. I wish there were more areas which dedicated kids sections though. There is so much to learn but it's a but much for our littles.

An important piece of history and a gripping site that people should visit when exploring Belfast. If you can take a black cab tour around the area do as it is a great experience and you will learn lots about the history of the place.
Brilliant place! Staff were very helpful especially Gavin! It was very insightful and helpful. Thank you for keeping history alive with this museum. The place was having restoration when we went but that didn't change anything. Everyone was so nice and although it was hard to find with the scaffolding, it was well worth the visit.
Outstanding murals
Nice representation of my boyhood hero. Just a shame it's got an advertising hoarding above it. Would be nice if it had the wall to itself.
I was definitely expecting something more spectacular. The museum building is quite cool, and I like the footprint of the Titanic on the ground, however it's not great. Unfortunately I hadn't got time to visit the museum so it may be worth it.

Wonderful day out at the titanic museum. The audio guide was informative and the exhibition takes you through the journey from the state of Belfast back during the time of building Titanic, the early stages in drafting and building the body, the further process in making it ready, during the voyage and finally the great tragedy and aftermath. It emulates wonder and astonishment at the great feat to the heart-broken feeling of knowing, if properly managed more people could have been saved.
The SS Nomadic was refurnished to its original glory and a short tour of it let's imagine the beauty that might have been Titanic.

Lovely museum to spend a substantial amount of time. The exhibition has a lot of interesting information on natural history, northern ireland history and art.
Probably one of the best museums I've ever been to. Very stylish and modern place from outside, technologically perfect from inside with lots of interesting facts and rooms. Definitely worth more than 25£ I paid for ticket. Kids would like it as well as there are many interactive things to do + something like small rollercoaster and that was super special. NOMADIC boat outside the museum is also included in the price of ticket so that is really nice bonus.
Great place to not only learn the history of the world's most infamous ship, but to be immersed in it. Many interactive exhibits invite visitors to get hands-on and stay engaged. There's even a bit of a ride, too, that takes you through the construction process. Plan on staying for at least two hours.
Excellent museum with so much packed it. You could spend ages in here. Came with kids aged 7-9 and they all were enthralled too. Definitely recommended.
I went on a driving tour throughout the island and this was by far my favorite place to visit. If you're a history buff and are fascinated by the Titanic, you absolutely have to come here. From start to finish the experience is breathtaking. There's something for everyone to take away from visiting. Maybe you'll even catch a double rainbow like I did 🌈

What an amazing place to visit. There is so much information and the museum is well laid out and inactive. The staff was extremely helpful and available if you had any questions. There were lockers available for personal items and luggage.
The museum offers a café and gift shop. Our self guided tour to us about 4 hrs and we could have spent longer looking and reading everything.

I had the most incredible time at the place. the most beautiful part was the art section, which was absolutely stunning and left me in awe.

Very good exhibits. My only negative is that, although it is advertised as wheelchair accessible, it isn't fully. The doorways to the cells are too narrow to get a standard width wheelchair through. This means the wheelchair user can not experience any of the exhibits inside the cells. It needs more information in the area outside the cells so that wheelchair users can see and experience the same as able-bodied people.
This was an informative tour and very interesting. It gave you a great insight at what prison life was like in Belfast from well over 100+ years ago until fairly recently. There are interactive displays and various media presentations. The tour is in one direction, you enter one side and come out the other, so be prepared to walk the whole tour.
We pre-booked the guided tour and arrived around 15 mins early. Our tour guide, Harry, was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable and presented us with information in a really easy to digest way. He was also really friendly, I would definitely recommend him.
The tour itself was good, however I do feel that the group size was a little large which meant the rooms ended up feeling crowded and it was sometimes a little difficult to see things (especially when you're not that tall!)

A good place to spend a couple of hours with some very sobering details of prison life, good informative projections and cells that will make you never want to fall on the wrong side of the Law! I guess the only improvements that could be made are to the poor signage, particularly after the execution area and when leaving the prison to the cemetery. Also, it would have been nice to have maybe one or two members of staff to be on hand but we literally didn’t see a single soul… I guess this added to the creepiness!

Our tour guide was really enthusiastic and knew his stuff and was passionate during the tour, it took around an hour to get through and we found it really engaging and learnt some interesting stories. Its a very historic place with many interesting elements. Definitely something to do when visiting Belfast
Nice plan for a rainy day. I decided last minute to book tickets online since it was raining all day and not much to do outside. The booking process is very simple, the ticket for self-guided tour cost £15,50 and I could book the time slot on the same day. There was no waiting time when I arrived, I received a map and followed arrows around the area. What I liked about the Crumlin Road Gaol was how interactive and interesting was the presentation of the prison, instead of reading everything, you could listen to recordings and even observe the holograms of "prison characters" who told you more about the prison. The place looked very authentic, took about 60-70 minutes to walk through, and even included testimonies from former prisoners. It was a nice way of learning more about the history of the country and Belfast itself.
As museums go one of if not the Best we've been to.

Great worth doing the full tour as the guide was very knowledgeable and explained everything in great detail. I was very emotional from the beginning really enjoyed the experience
Ulster Museum is an excellent visitor attraction covering all things Northern Ireland and more. From a room devoted solely to the history of the troubles, to modern art, fashion of the 1920s, classic paintings/portraits, dragon sculptures, dinosaur fossils, crystals and rocks Egyptian mummies and more.
Attended with my son who commented that the museum was much more interesting than he thought it would be.
I particularly enjoyed the Egyptian mummy exhibit and the wooden dragon sculptures on the ceiling.
The troubles exhibit brings history to life for those who haven't lived with it on the news.
The museum is over 5 levels all accessible by lift for those that need it.
There is a cafe on the ground floor. I didn't use it but it seemed busy.

Very cool and unique museum. Can be a little disappointed as it’s really small, if you not into history of it told in multiple languages you will go thru in 15 minutes. Should be made bigger - finally there was max 900 people in there! All escape history can be told in details- remaining wings and floors should be opened- without reconstruction - just be it - make it safe and available.

Very informative, and information isn't biased. Can be slightly boring as most of your time is spent watching long videos in various rooms without seats. It is not appropriate or entertaining for children. Gives a great feel for the jail and conditions inside, and the staff are all super friendly and helpful. A lot of the experience is spent waiting for the gates to open to the next part of the jail, which was quite frustrating, especially since there were no seats in the waiting areas. It can be very busy and rooms can be crowded so make sure you know how busy it will be when you go.

There is no museum sign, was really hard to find. Need to ring the bell for the museum. Luckily a a nice gentleman working in the working in the S.D.KELL was helping me to find the entrance but unluckily it was not open on Tuesday at 11:30am. Should make the opening time right on google.
Titanic docks is fantastic place but windy.
Great coffe shop The Snooty Owl, which is open Fridays to Sundays, weather permitting. Great coffe and snacks.

Amazing visit to an incredible museum. It's far bigger than you think with a huge amount to see inside across 5 floors. The staff are friendly and there are lockers to drop bags near the entrance so you don't have to lug them around.
Well worth a visit, we were there over 2 hours and could easily have spent longer.

The problem with this whole area is that it’s a Picasso museum without a single Picasso. There are no relics from the Titanic here. Not worth your time
Located on the Titanic Slipways next to Titanic Studios the fifth window is a fitting tribute to the Iron Throne.
It features a built-in stool so you can get a selfie on seat the throne. Great place to take a picture.

These windows making up the Glass of Thrones walking trail are now on permanent display after being generously gifted by Tourism Ireland.

I wanted to visit the Museum with my grandchildren as my father had served in WW2. We found great difficulty finding it as it was poorly signed and behind a derelict building. After an hour we found the entrance at 12 noon only to find it locked up. I was deeply disappointed. No one will respond on the phone and the website said it was open. What a shame.
Very interesting, best seen with a local guide who can explain the significance. We went with a guide and it was quite interesting.
The Mural off one of the Greatest Players to grace the field of football and that's what Pele said about the Legend very good Mural. Their was also one of a local singer from South Belfast who was depicted also Ruby Murray she's one of the old singers. All in it was a Very interesting and educational visit to the Murals and it's great to hear new things about our British History Folks. Have a Great Easter Weekend All you people and I hope this helps someone who's thinking of visiting Belfast.

Dont be thrown by the outside as whats inside is fascinating. Brilliant ode to those who served every corner of the earth under the ulster flag. The memorabilia was in pristine condition and provided in depth stories. Would suggest every Irish person visit this museum to respect and honour those who have fought for Ireland
Perfect and friendly place, Staff very welcoming and very informative. History of the regiment displayed out well..great to be able to see all.the artifacts in front of you and not on screen..you can actually get a feel for what the soldiers actually went through..

Fantastic Military Museum, staff very friendly and very very knowledgeable. A must visit when in Northern Ireland.
Its a small museum thats a bit hard to find as its behind a closed off building. Fortunately, there are signs pointing you to the right direction, so just follow them and you should arrive at the front. It's free to enter for all visitors.
The musuem is very small. The exhibits are all in one room, mostly displaying world war 1 and 2 artifacts. There isn't much context given for most of the items shown, so unless you are a history buff or are lucky enough to get the owner to guide you, it might be quite boring to the average visitor.

A fantastic albeit small museum documenting the military history of the province by people of all communities. Knowledgeable volunteer staff and some brilliant exhibits. Bonus - its free! Be aware the entrance is tucked away. Look for the signage.
