Moof stands for the Museum of Figurines. It also says 'Comics Museum' so just make sure you don't get it mixed up with the Comics Arts Museum because that one is very different. We stopped in on a Friday just after 4:15 with the Brussels Card. There weren't too many people there at that time. It's a pretty fun museum with lots of figurines, and even life size superhero statues. It's not very big because I guess you can really only fill a place with so many figurines. We spent about 45 minutes to walk through everything, so you don't need too much time to explore everything.

So many different names for this museum on the internet. There's this, the Belgian Comic Strip Center, and the Comics Arts Museum. We stopped in because we had the Brussels Card but honestly, probably would have skipped it if we didn't have it. It was just before 12:30 on a Friday. It's cool if you like the smurfs or are super into comic books (which I am neither). I did like the exhibit where they featured women policitical comic artists from all over the world. We spent probably about half an hour before we left.

Excellent fun activity for those who like to investigate and figure things out.
Staff are super helpful. Recommended 100%. We pre-booked our tickets in advance it was a good idea saved us waiting in the queue. Overall trip to museum took us exactly one hour to complete.
Very cool display of plastics through the different years. As a collector was great to see some of the pieces we have in our collection.

Staff are super friendly, lockers available for our bags and coats at €1 which you get back.
Toilet facilities are clean
We got free tickets from visiting the Atomium :)
4* because we got a bit bored but that’s just personal taste! Worth checking out if you’re already doing the atomium

Its vibrant exhibits celebrate the rich history of Belgian comics, showcasing iconic characters like Tintin and the Smurfs. The interactive displays and original artwork provide a deep dive into the artistry behind these beloved stories. A must-visit for all ages!
The museum is located right next to the Atomium and the price of an entrance ticket is 10 euros (adult). After I visited it, I went to the Atomium, where the price of an entrance ticket is 16 euros (adult), BUT this price includes both visiting the Atomium and the design museum. The people at the design museum didn't give me this information... So I recommend going to the Atomium first to buy a ticket with which you can visit both locations.
Quite a good little museum with lots of historical information and artifacts about Brussels. Not much to keep the kids interested, but it was still one of our favourite places we visited in Brussels. Relatively cheap to enter and there were free lockers to put bags so that you didn't have to carry them along the museum. The mystery is over 3 levels.

Excelsior! Fantastique!! Wunderbar!!! Phenomenal!!!

A wonderful museum in an amazing building only adding to overall experience and atmosphere.

A history of comics and then a series of introductions to the process with dozens of original pieces demonstrating the art, and then thematically arranged displays.

Exhibits frequently change, so on this occasion, the Lombard company who produced Tintin had an incredible exhibit - built like an IKEA show room sequence, it was astounding and in cupboards one found art!!!

Of course the Smurf section.

A fabulous shop, with some very unique items and then La pièce de résistance! The Library....

I am researching comic articles for Fanzines, and had a desire to see comics only available in French from over the decades and this is the place to see them.

Dimitri was so helpful!
It's a wonderful place to study comics, to read the studies of comics, and my hours went by too quickly.

It is a fabulous museum and library.

Leuke expositie.
Toiletten waren goed, al sloten de deuren niet goed. Één deur ging moeilijk van het slot.
Definitely worth to visit, you got free entrance with Atomium ticket. Probably even more interesting then inside the Atomium:) lots of plastic, unique examples from modern era till now. Not only belgian designers stuff. And no idea why its only 3.9 rating as it one of the best places to visit in Brussels.

Never thought I'd visit a comic arts museum, but I did and it was great! There's tons of content in the really neat Horta art nouveau warehouse. Everything has detailed descriptions in French, Dutch, and English, though the English text is sometimes printed much smaller than the rest. And most of the comics displayed are in French, but that's fine, the art transcends the written language.
If you want to know a ton about the history of Brussels and it's architecture in just about an hour, plus see the actual Mannekin Pis statue, visit this museum! Easy to walk through and see art, pottery, furniture and maps that describe the various eras of the city and who rules when and how. It's really cool it's using the legit original building as well.
It's a wonderful museum! And very reasonable admission. You must check it out
Incredibly interesting museum showcasing the buried streets of the old palace. Audio tour was shorter and well recieved at our own pace. It was off-season and quiet making it a sombre experience.
It was interesting but it was lacking oxigen in some parts. We started to get dizzy so we decided not to finish the tour we paid for.
Very good experience. The museum can be covered in 45mn if you are in a tight schedule or if you want to see it nicely budget 2hrs.
Good for kids, they offer free entrance on the 1st of the month.
The museum is amazing. First time of my life i go through all of the museum's stuff. It was really interesting. It has everything about the origin of life on the universe, real carbon dated skeletons, stuffed animals.... The place is suitable for adults and kids. But it really interesting for adults with science curiosity.
This museum is great 💕
I loved it, so big and beautiful
Kinds friendly and so enjoyable
I did 4 hours walking around and of the end of my journey did I had the feeling I have not got seeing everything 💕💕💕
Fantastic and wonderful day trip ❤️
I can recommend to everyone 😊

Absolutely great collection of classic cars. It was divided by topics, years or brands. Some cars are very rare and it was awesome to see them.

Really enjoyed the museum and its set in a beautiful grand park and square. When we arrived there was a Ferrari on the entrance, I was cringing at kids touching it! I think entrance was 15euro and you're presented with a story of the car from the start throughout all the years, cars from different countries, racing cars and even bikes. If I did have anything to say I thought some of the areas were a little dark like to upstairs area to the right. Maybe some better lighting as they were some rare cars in that corner.

A wonderful experience. I saw cars that I had only seen on posters. There was a Bugatti exhibition on at the time and I saw cars I had only dreamed of. This is a petrol heads dream. 😊😊😊😊

I like certain styles more than the others. I found a new comic I like, Boerke. The museum was playing the animation of this cartoon and its very funny.
Most of the comic display are in French (I think), so I don't understand most and was mostly looking at the pictures.

Greeted by friendly staff. It's a very small illusion museum with not that much to see. It was alright, but we barely spent half an hour here, which wasn't really worth the €24 for the both of us. If you haven't been to an illusion museum before then, you might appreciate it more than we did as we have been to the Edinburgh one, which is superb.

Start from the last floor to discover the original Manneken-Pis. This museum has more than 7.000 pieces to discover the history of Brussels.
As Brussels resident, I loved it. It’s nice to see paintings of the old Brussels.
For tourists, I recommend to visit this museum only if you have spare time. The visit takes around 1h30/2h. The entrance is 10 euros for adults and 4 euros for students and kids.
Brussels has an incredible story but I don’t think this exposition helps the discovery in an easy and user friendly way. A lot to improve in the journey of the visit to the museum. I recommend to start from the last floor where you learn about the history of the city. Then, go down to ground floor where there are the less interesting pottery and the statues from the old city.
One of the best museums visited until now. Kids loved a lot and different things to explore for kids as well as adults. Best part was excavation things for kids. Highly Highly recommended and a must visit

It was a fun experience with a great overview of how/where automobiles started and how they developed over the years with some memoribilia and videos of racing history.

If you have the time and you are keen to learn a bit about the history of cars and comparing the size of everything in and around a car versus now it'll be quite an eye opener and I think it's worth while.
The museum was a good attraction. It was humongous, I didn't get to look around all the displays. There were loads of different themes for different parts of the museum, such as evolution or the start of life. There are also interactive parts that help people to learn more about what's inside the museum. I would definitely come here again.

An excellent way to spend a couple of hours. A lot of history is in one place and on display. Very reasonable entrance fee.
That is museum dedicated to the history of the city of Brussels. Very nice historic building and its free for the teachers as like any other public museum, the proof should be shown at the cacheers.

Good museum, not too small or too big. Prices are good for students. Has a lot of information about how Brussels has developed, not as much painting art, though, unsurprisingly. Some cool views, too.
After Paris and London, this is the third largest museum of natural history in Europe. I loved their collection of dinosaur fossils and learnt a few new things. I just wish the switches to learn some of these things would work. Nice place to spend a day with family or friends.
I went with my kids and they enjoyed the exhibition, I recommend !

The museum’s main focus was on the early modern period, with some medieval history thrown in too. There were many interesting paintings and other works of art. Most notably this museum houses the original weathervane from the Town Hall opposite. There is good wifi through which visitors are able to access a complementary audio or visual guide
My 5, 2, and 1 yr old enjoyed their tour around the museum. They have prehistoric animals and modern animals. Lots of places for kids to learn and run around. There's even a dome theater to watch and learn about dinosaurs. Also free parking when you come early enough.

We spent 45 minutes at Illusion. It was lots of fun and there were good photo opportunities. The staff were very helpful and took the best angles for us to make the illusion come to life. Shout out to Basile, Anthony and Alyssa!
Very nice exhibition.
I thought there'd be just one or two rooms, but we also git to see an exhibition about human evolution and even participated in a game about light.
Totally we spent 4 hours there. Definitely recommend for a visit if you're a dinosaur fan.
Although I wish that near the skeletons there would be images with looks of dinosaurs, not just their bones.
We visited the Plastic design display. It was interesting and inspiring pieces.
Plastics when mixed into several materials becomes more durable and beautiful pieces of art.

Heel interessant.

Heaps of fun. Really well organised as a museum. The different rooms and illusions are much better if it is just your group in there and the museum organise this really well by staggering the entries.

It’s a relatively small experience and takes around an hour. I very firmly suggest you buy your tickets in advance. If you try to buy them on the door you basically have to wait for an appropriate time to enter and this could take ages. It’s really easy to buy online, you pay 3€ as a holding deposit then pay the rest when you arrive.

I came with two friends, loads of fun. Would be great for families of any age as well. If you are going solo, the staff will happily take pictures for you.
You can enjoy your time here with different exhibitions: you have the history of comics, some of the different styles which were developed, you can see some of the works of female comic artists who draw to make social commentary, but also enjoy lighter stuff like the Smurfs or comics for children.
It is family friendly, had the descriptions of the images in english, french and dutch (I think), and tickets are easily bought at the ticket office. A good way to spend a few hours in Brussels with friends of family

Historic excavation site.
Very interesting
A wonderful museum! Lots of cars. The cars are arranged by year and are displayed from the oldest - carriages and phaetons to modern cars. There is a lot to see! We really liked it!
This free museum is a must visit if you have 1 to 2 hours to spare! It showcases the various ancient currencies and their relevance in society and also highlights the story of Europe's franc and euro.

A must for any car lover when in Brussels. A wide range of cars from throughout history and a good way to spend some time in. It was also nice to see how involved Belgium and their citizens have been involved in the car industry. Was also nicely air conditioned on a hot day.
The world largest hall dedicated to Dinausaurs, this museum is very big and full of specimens: Skeletons, rocks, crystals, meteorites...
Make sure to read about it before you go in order to mentally prepare for the different sections this museum has. Take your time in exploring the different sections, better dedicate between 3 & 4 hours there.
I love their dark interactive experience as well, where you need to play games related to humans and animals progress and evolution in order to unlock your exit.
Some sections are only offered in French & Dutch, probably created when Brussels was not the international city it is today (Rocks & Crystals section), I do recommend they correct that. At some parts, it lacks explanations of the artifacts displayed because you wouldn't know what you are looking at.
I highly recommend this museum, enjoy, take your time checking out the dinosaur big hall, a beautiful perspective of how little & short lived humans are comparing to those giants that lived for millions of years, humbling experience.
We had so much fun! Absolutely worth to visit. The staff was very friendly and caring. Thanks!

Fantastic comic museum! My family loved it. It’s a quick visit unless you read all the captions. If you like Tintin, Asterix & Obelix, Smurfs, etc…I highly recommend a visit here.
Great museum to learn about the history of Brussels and the town square!
The building is really nice and feels vintage wine it is! The collections are nice and the displayed statues from the fifteenth century are really mesmerizing! They also have the original mannikan-pis statue. The visit is definitely worth it
Fantastic experience with illusions and tricks
You can take wired photos and play mind games with some screens
Plus the staff was so friendly and helpful, they suggested some positions for the photos and even took some for us
Very interesting museum of the comics art, with history illustrations how the comics art originated and developed through the years. Also, information about the architect and history of the semi-industrial building where the museum is located is given. Worth to see in Brussels!
A museum about creating stuffs in everyday’s lives, mosty from plastic, some from wood and glasses.

There is not much to see. However, we have tickets from Atomium which would already include this museum. So we come.

I visited with my daughter Chloe and we truly enjoyed our time. Incredible how welcoming and friendly the entire staff was since we arrived. Very helpful, offered to hold our bags so we could enjoy the museum and take photos and also to tto navigatehelp us take photos. Chloe was so incredibly sweet she even came up to check on us to make sure she could help us with photos and Axelle was our welcome and so friendly and helpful. Anthony did a great explanation of how to navigate the musuem and honestly the vibe and friendliness of everyone made the experience that much better. My daughter even walked away feeling better from advice that was shared with her by Chloe and Axelle.
I was really surprised by the quality of this museum and both exhibitions. You'll be able to learn more about the history of money and the euro currency. The audio guide is really good and the museum is very interactive.

The museum's entry is free and it's usually very low crowded. I recommend you spend at least 2 hours, specially if you're interested in macro economics.
Managed to see this on my last day at Brussels, opened Fri to Mon. I saw a sign about being open 7 days a week I believe it was for the summer time so useful for those travelling to Brussels during those months. Worth a visit! It's small but has lots to see especially if you are a comics fan.

The collection are just amazing and so well maintained. The range showcases the complete history of automobile- cars and bikes.

If you visit Bruxelles, you cannot miss this location that offers you a hint of China and Japan in a super beautiful area.

Situated in the municipality of Laken, close to the Royal Domain, this area includes: the Museums of the Far East: the Japanese Tower, the Chinese Pavilion and the Museum of Japanese Art. For the moment they are closed for safety reasons until further notice.
A lovely museum that brought back a little piece of my childhood. It's a little dark in there, but besides that I really enjoyed it. Also, the staff is lovely!
Visited with a friend, definitely one of the best museums I've been to. Healthy collection of items related to the history of money in Belgium and Europe. Excellent audio guides and equipment to enhance the experience. Friendly staff.

Free entry. You do need to go through security, who were friendly and professional on our occasion, to visit.
Amazing museum!! It’s quite small but it has so many figurines! And you get to learn so much about comics. Bloody brilliant. I absolutely recommend it if you are a fan of comics! We went there without booking and there was no queue.
Nice place, quite small museum but with a good overview of the expansion of the city of Brussels.
The thematic rooms have however only a couple of pieces in exhibition, be it beautiful ones.
Very interesting museum, full of the best Belgium comic characters, Luke and Tin Tin are my favorites. Not only kids enjoy the museum, but it is also very pleasant for many adults, reminding me of several childhood memories.
Negative points:
a bit expensive for the thickest and most expensive gift shop.
This museum was my favorite of Brussels! I spent hours wandering around and reading about the comics. It was so interesting! I also find some cartoon from my childhood which made me so happy. The museum is very well made with many photo opportunity. Also the staff was welcoming and friendly. I definitely recommend for younger and older people.
I am a big fan of comics, and I have been to many museums around the world, but this one is the best. It is a must-visit for any fan of comics, or anyone who wants to learn more about the history of comics. The museum has a great collection of figurines, and the staff are very knowledgeable. I highly recommend it.
I think this street opposite the Japanese garden must be celebrated. It has started magnolias on both sides and now in full flower. They have a faint aroma of vanilla that fills the air. In this season one of the amazing roads but otherwise a common toad.
It is a unique way to discover the past of the Palais. Remarkable site! Worth a visit!

It is a rather small museum which I think worth with the museumpas. However, it is not boring.
Amongst the Top-5 Musts when visiting Brussels. Excellent archeological remains of the Coudenberg Palace provide visitors with glimpses into royal life of the 15th and 16th centuries.

A very interesting introductory film of about five to ten minutes starts the journey by inviting visitors into the history and landscape of the former palace. Exploration of the subterranean remains of the Chapel and Great Banqueting Hall await.

Well-signed in English, French, German, and Nederlands, the information provides wonderful context. A free app that guests access on their phone provides additional information, with a few entries having brief, recorded audio information. Worth a half day for lovers of history and archaeology.

I combined my visit with one to the BELvue Museum, aboveground and thoroughly enjoyed it as well.

A boring museum, but with enlightening information that makes you think.
The staff makes the atmosphere unpleasant with their presence, walk after you ...
Highly recommended. There are two exhibitions here, one on the history of money and the other on the history of the euro. The entrance is free and you also get free audio guide. The museum is very invested, there are many exhibits and interactive games with huge screens and everything. It seems that a lot of money was invested here, and people don't really come. We were actually the only ones in the museum.
The place is closed but it looks gorgeous nevertheless. Recommend if your a hobby photographer looking to get a piece of Asia in Brussels.

I was able to join a private tour through my job, which meant it was free and not very busy. The tour was very engaging and the history of the palace is very interesting. I feel like more could have been done to bring it to life and feel more interactive, but it’s still worth the visit.
Was not expecting it to be as good as it was, the in-depth audio-guide was a good addition. Wide range of exhibits, not just limited to Belgium or even Europe. Some interesting pieces, and some interactive quizzes and games. Very modern, well designed.

Fascinating place.
The Coudenberg is an old Palace that was lost to fire and later being paved over. The underground building has been excavated and can now be viewed.
There's an extensive audio guide, as well as two apps for families and groups with children.
It's quite chilly down in the big halls and underground streets, but absolutely worth a visit. Great piece of history.
Free and better than many other expensive museums. Very well organized, in some places interactive. There is also an audio guide and you can print fake Euro banknotes with your photo, both for free as well.

A must-visit in Brussels! Super interesting and impressive to see the kitchen and water waste system of the royals living hundreds of years ago. The history of how the drinking glass was made. The stone technique to make walls. The staircase leading to a garden that you can only picture in your imagination... Audio guides and free WiFi available on your phone so you can listen to the explanations while walking around.
It was great to see this Chinese Pavilion in the city. But it was closed (January 2020). I recommend to visit the nearest park.
SO calm and peaceful with a fascinating architecture.. pure Chinese art that you can feel yourself in a small China
Nice place for a walk. Sadly the museum is closed at this point in time. Still worth to take a visit.
Closed until further notice! It's a pity to see such a nice building rotting away.

Something interesting and different. Best part was the old wooden chair designs that were designed over 100 years ago that look like they were done yesterday. Not a huge place, you can check it out fairly quickly.
