I enjoyed visiting this museum in 2022. It has amazing collections of Chinese dishes and jewellery from ancient times. It's worth visiting - highly recommended.
Highly recommend this museum. We just accidentally found this place while walking to merlion, and we did not have any regrets going here. lots of display exhibitions.
A great way to spend a couple of hours pondering the history of certain regions in Asia. Not a large museum, but houses some really impressive relics.
Excellent, extensive, comprehensive, and very informative.

This is a superbly created museum with extremely good written explanations as to why the exhibit is included, how it is different across Asia, and what its significance is.

Would recommend this is on any visitors list to do when they visit.
I enjoyed my time visiting this museum. It has amazing collections!! I love the ancient and religions section the most, the room was dim but with great spotlight it showcases the collection so well I love taking a moment to stare at the collections. I also love the jewelry section, some of it is interactive where I can take a look closely about the jewelry in detail. They give you a map and recommend the section you can visit in row.
The Asian Civilisations Museum, located in the heart of Singapore, is a cultural gem that unveils the rich diversity of Asian heritage. Spanning diverse civilizations, the museum showcases a captivating array of artifacts, artworks, and stories that narrate the history, traditions, and cultural splendors of Asia. From ancient civilizations to contemporary expressions, the museum offers a journey through time, providing visitors with a profound understanding of the interconnectedness and diversity of Asian cultures.
I truly recommend the special exhibition Manila Galleon, from Asia to Americas (18 Nov 2023 - 17 Mar 2024) that showcases works of art from the trade that connected Asia to the Americas during four centuries.

Adult entrance tickets fee is 25SG$ and 20SG$ for children and students. Free for Singaporeans citizens.
It's such a wonderful experience. This is a place where art meets science, creating incredible things. Kids, especially, can enjoy it the most. Although feels like 30$ little bit expensive compared to other places. But highly recommended if you're visiting Singapore.
Thanks to our volunteer docent Ian for making the experience through the National Museum of Singapore interesting and rich. I love when history is told more like a story than fact after fact and he did just that for an hour. I learned a lot and spent some extra time revisiting some of the exhibits we had to speed over. All in all, beautiful gallery and a great way to get out of the heat or rain for an hour or two. I only did the main gallery and it was worth the SGD 10 cost.

What a gem of a museum. This was a recommendation from a friend. We arrived late in the day and had no issues with walking in and buying tickets from the counter. Saw the Future World: Where Art meets Science exhibit. It was one of the best I have been to in a long time. The exhibit suited all age groups, it was interactive, fascinating and awe inspiring. From watching butterflies and flowers dancing across the walls to being hidden amongst them. You could colour a marine picture, scan it and watch it zoom across the giant aquarium backdrop screen or walking across coloured planks like you were in a treehouse. There was even a chance to fly your own plane across the screen. The crystal lights were my favourite. Definitely a must see when visiting Singapore.
a cool place with well curated national treasure that celebrates our past design journey but it’s a little too “propaganda-y”

also, really they have some really unprofessional staffs. was minding my own business while waiting for my tickets at the counter. out of the blue, the ticketmaster approached me and demanded that i put back the brochures. she apologized after i said that i was given the copies. made
no sense.
Visited this museum as it is located within a short walking distance from my hotel at Bencoolen Street. Needless to say, I was very impressed upon my visit! The museum offers a journey of Singapore's history from prehistoric to modern times that is presented in a detailed but concise journey. I would recommend allotting at least two hours here to enjoy what the museum has to offer.

Great experience! I had an amazing experience in FUTURE WORLD: Where Art Meets Science. No hassle going in, collections are worth the dime, and you get to immerse yourself into the experience as well.
Thousands of exhibits and well organised rooms that will take you from early history of Singapore to current days, about day to day life, how Singapore was founded and struggled during the war until it became the strong and independent country of today. It was a pleasant and instructive visit.

Future world is highly recommended for Children to have fun - interactively.

You may skip Science fiction as kids would feel bored.

Best to book slots online through Marina Bay website. In case not, you can always randomly walk in without appointment. Waiting will be 5-10 min.

Such a wonderful place to explore with our family outings and spend some good informative time at this place , especially for children. Situated opposite to the garden Bay mall and the top floor mini theatre is for science education movies playing for sometimes about global issues, such a wonderful place to taught about science exhibition and education purposes in the same places . Visit it before 5 PM to explore more because 6PM is closing time . Try to visit once if you have children who is science 🔭 enthusiastic. Spend some quality time at this place .
Very nice local treasure with a lot of history to see. Beautiful building and well kept museum. Has a great cafe inside too. Takes about 3 hours to cover completely. In heart of town and well connected by public transportation

Aesthetically beautiful building. Great place for kids. The exhibits were interesting. You can see everything in 1 hour or less. I wish there was more to see, the museum was smaller than I expected. Nonetheless a good place to escape the heat for a little.
A really great place to learn about the history and the rich culture of Singapore.

I also really loved witnessing younger children being taught by their teachers inside the Museum.

I loved seeing the academic researchers inside the building and seeing them further study the pieces for their research.
(I hope they all finish their schooling and contribute their expertise in the society.)

I loved all the collections inside it and appreciated all the care that was put into it and making sure everything is well preserved and cared for.

Even though some of the collections were not open for seeing due to renovations taking place overall it was a great experience and I felt really lucky and blessed to witness all of it.
Good for families with kids. Lots of interactive exhibits for the kids. Especially loved the aquarium bit. Good for a quick visit as it shouldn't take more than 2 hours. Unfortunately my phone battery died by the time we entered and hence, no photos from the inside of the museum.

If you have kids, this is a must visit.

I did not go into the museum but stopped into the gift and coffee shop to escape the heat. Cute little place and the staff were so friendly and telling me of places to visit. I'm enjoying Singapore alot quieter than Tokyo...had the waffles and I'm not big on sweets but very delicious. Person next to me let snap a shot of their chocolate waffle, everyone is so nice here. Stop in for a quick sweet, coffee and water.
Very small space compared to their previous building. A great chunk of the winning products aren't on display, replaced with a descriptive poster instead. It started of interesting but became quite tiring to read through those paragraphs, especially without the objects present.

The museum part itself is kinda disappointing, but the café provides a really nice spot to shelter from Marina Bay's scorching heat.
The architecture of the building itself is worth to visit. The public spaces around the building is undoubtedly commendable.

The exhibition is, however, a great disappointment. It costs $10 per person, $5 from the price of the ticket is actually shop voucher, which you could use to buy anything except for the drinks and food in the museum. The exhibition is to me, not at all interesting. It's just very few display of product designs.

I'd personally recommend you to visit the building and its surrounding spaces but NOT the exhibition. I'd actually skipped this place altogether if I were on a tight schedule.
Highly recommend to go - very colorful and interactive. Kids were able to learn a lot about Singapore past. It is really interesting, even for the adults
The Musical Box Museum is a wonderful and one-of-a-kind attraction. The diversity of musical boxes on the show pleasantly surprised me, each with its personality and song. The museum truly celebrates music and craftsmanship. I wholeheartedly suggest it to anyone seeking a delightful and melodic experience.

Amazing place that I love. Looking at the aquarium digitally, it turns out that we can draw there and make many sea animals into what we paint.
There is also a play area full of the variety of today's cities, suitable for children or couples who are visiting.
You can also run stairs that are full of colorful colors so that you have a very romantic perspective.
The closing path is at the door on the left with a very unique glass path feature full of light and light.
This is how to see amazing Art Spotlight.
We had a fantastic & interesting experience in d Musical Box Museum. The 50mins tour done by the Japanese owner Mr Minami was perfectly conducted. We walked around, admiring the intricately designed musical boxes & were awed by the craftsmanship in olden days. Learnt about the history of musical boxes & how they worked as we walked along the exhibits. The sweet melodies produced by the vintage musical boxes were absolutely enchanting. There are also some interactive parts where we can toss a coin into the antique musical boxes to play music. The most amazing part was we can use our paper admission ticket to play music too! It was a perfect way to spend a lovely day & we end it with eating Hokkaido matcha vanilla ice cream in the museum cafe! Btw meeting point is at the museum cafe where you can buy the tickets then & there. But do remember to book an appointment first. Strongly recommend to those young & old who enjoy music!
First time visiting this place with family. There is time limit for per entry however i think the measure is good to ensure all families have a chance to enter + plus 1 hr 45 mins is more than enough to spend time and for the kids to play and enjoy. Singaporeans no entry fee.
Immerse yourself into Singapore's history and be totally blown away by the rate at which it progressed to the nation it is today. The story is told in a creative and interactive way. Definitely worth spending a few hours here to absorb everything and enjoy being taken back in time.
Not much to venture around. My kids do like the place since they have lots of hands on experience around the whole museum. Postage stamp n baby diaper wrap my daughter liked the most.
Brought my kids yesterday to this private museum as it's a Sch holiday. It's really an eye opener to see these working condition antique musical boxes & my kids love the hands-on experiences. Guided tour throughout
by the Curator cum Owner. He was very patient and detailed in explanation. There's also a museum cafe cum workshop below. My kids ordered a cup of ice cream that is big enough to be shared by both of them. Price is reasonable too. Highly recommended place & booking in advance is necessary.

Vivian was very kind, polite and generous in sharing her extensive knowledge of the artists’ backgrounds and their artworks. Appreciate that she made it such an enjoyable and holistic experience for my first time coming to the gallery :) I felt very comfortable and intrigued to find out more about the very intricate pieces of artwork due to her soft, amicable and pleasant personality. Thank you for the experience here.

Formerly it was the Singapore Philatelic Museum. Only after COVID-19 it changed name to Children's Museum.

It still has some displays relating to its former nameshake.
It’s a great air conditioned place to bring my children during the weekends to learn about Singapore and also have some fun playing with the exhibits or just to let them run around a little. Suitable for kids 5-12 years old. It’s next to Funan Centre so after visiting, the whole family can walk over to eat lunch. Best time to visit is during the mornings.
A fabulous experience getting to know Singapore's historical journey! Beautifully maintained museum. The staff was courteous and helpful. We had a wonderful time exploring the various rooms. A must see here is the glass rotunda featuring story of the forest and it's magnificent. The cafes were great too!
Visited in May 2023 on a weekday. There were a few school tours happening on that day but my girls were enjoying the museum so much that they were slowly reading everything and were in a would of their own. Spent 5 hours inside before heading to a little cafe at the side of the museum for tea. Learning when Malaysia and Singapore parted ways were great for my girls who are below 10 years old.
We visited the Glass Rotunda as well and they enjoyed that most. So beautiful!

There wasn't much to see at the exhibition. Many of the award winning designs were not on display, which was disappointing. Instead, some of the walls were covered with design concept presentation prints, requiring visitors to read through numerous display boards.
As a visual person, I had hoped to see the real objects (or at least 3D models) rather than just reading about them.
Some of the displayed products were not in a working state, making it difficult to assess their functionality and performance. For instance, none of the lighting fixtures were turned on, so it was impossible to determine their design quality. Design should always prioritize function, so seeing non-functional light fixtures felt like looking at mere dummies.
Despite the positive reviews this place had received, I was somewhat disappointed as it didn't meet my expectations.

Just made it before closing hours! Please go inside and support! The owner was extremely nice and hilarious. He toured us around the space and we had great conversations over his camera collection!
Pretty interesting place, a small museum but just enough time for 2 hours to spend with the toddler! They have a 5 mins show as well which runs through out the day. You can also book or get the tickets on their website. Timing varies 9am, 11am, 2pm 4pm.

Place is accessible from City Hall mrt behind the central fire station. (Colourful building)
BEST bang for your buck in terms of SG museum visits, along with National Gallery. Orui-san is most passionate and lively Renaissance-man guide. Music here is magical and one of a kind. Book in advance by email!
Affordable entrance fee of $10 and lots of cool design gadgets to check out. 2 floors so relatively compact but good place to kill time or take refuge from the heat 😁
If you like art and design. This is definitely a place to check out. They have latest updates of red dot design awards and have some classic best of best design award displays.

Their gift shop full of fun and amazing little stuff. A must see place.

They sell some desserts. And there’s a little kids playground right next to it.

Very friendly place. The gallerist is kind enough to answer our questions including our 9 year old curiosity. Thank you for making our day and will Redsea will definitely be top of mind if we are looking for artwork in the future.
Super interesting to learn more about musical box history! We got lots of demos and even got to touch some of the musical box parts. Docents were very knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all our questions. The ticket is super cute too! You will get the chance to use a little musical box to play a short tune using your ticket. Some tunes included Majulah Singapura, snow white, happy birthday, and auld lang syne.

The tour is 1h long and very comprehensive.

Will definitely be back soon!

It was a enjoyable visit to the Musical Box Museum. I am surprised to learn about the variety of disc and cylinder types made with different materials.

An eye opener for those who loves to learn more about musical boxes and ear opener for those who loves soothing musics!

Thank you to our guide whom was friendly and knowledgeable. We learnt about music boxes and the history behind it.
Machines are marvellous, absolutely jaw-dropping. They must have felt like magic hundred years ago.

One has to prebook the tour, group was small and the tour guide is great, we got a chance to ask questions and touch some mechanisms.

If I had to pick one museum in SG to bring visiting friends/family I would pick this one.
My kids loved this place! And so did the adults. Alot of effort has been put into this museum and it's extremely engaging for the young minds. Thumbs up! Highly recommend this place to all parents with toddlers of 2 years old and above.
Definitely worth a visit! I was concerned this was more hype than it is worth, but loved how everything perfectly engaged children of all ages (our toddler played well with older and younger children at various exhibits).

The design of the museum was thoughtful too, with handrails at children's heights, children's toilets and wash basins, and the length of the interactive show was also just right at 5 minutes.

There were multiple exhibits here across two floors, including a garden themed one, a birthday-themed one, one on Singapore's old markets, and one of Singapore's shipping port. There were so many things for children to see, touch, and play and every child I saw loved it. It's not just videos / photo exhibits, but cooking stations, pretend play market stalls, foam block stacking at the port, pretend cargo loading at the shipping port, and so many more.

Lastly the staff members were amazing and patient with children. They were so excited for them to come play, and answered all their questions with patience and kindness.
The vibes here really something. Feel like in future world. I enjoy drawing and playing around.

A hidden, small private museum next to Thian Hock Keng temple where this would be a lovely place for people who like antiques or music. This is also a guided tour, so do remember to book them online before heading down. Think there are only 5 sessions per day.

The pieces are mostly over 120 years old, are part of a private collection. It is amazing how good these antiques are being maintained and still sound clear.

However, there is a lot of listening and standing during this 45 min to 60 min guided tour. So not ideal for seniors.

The Red Dot Museum is a unique exhibition space that showcases a variety of products that have won the prestigious Red Dot award. While the museum displays a significant number of Red Dot awarded products, many of them are presented as 2D displays, with few opportunities to see the actual products up close. This lack of interactivity may be disappointing for some visitors, as the actual products are often displayed behind glass cases, which can be a bit limiting.

Despite this, the museum still offers a fascinating and worthwhile experience, with a wide range of design products on display, from consumer electronics to furniture to kitchen gadgets. Visitors can appreciate the sleek and innovative designs of the products, and gain insight into the design process behind them.

The building itself has a bit of a temporary feel, with its simple, minimalist design and industrial-looking architecture. However, the space is still functional and well-suited for its purpose, with clean and modern interiors that complement the design products on display.
Very informative and interesting museum. My wife and I expected to be there for less than an hour having looked at the floor plan, which looked small. We were surprised we stayed for over 2 hours. Most of the taxidermy were on the lower side, sometimes bordering humorous. Descriptions and displays were great and easy to understand. If you're into biodiversity, then I'd definitely recommend visiting this place. I had the opportunity to visit during the parasite exhibition and was pretty grossed in a good way. Kudos!

REDSEA Gallery exudes its own charm when I entered. Greeted by the affable Ms Pamela, she introduced me to the gallery and I explored on my own.

At every corner of the gallery, you'll find pieces that entice you to study them. I spent a longer time than I anticipated and the atmosphere is truly tranquil.

There's a significant number of Asian artists as well, something I look forward to discovering in every gallery. When I left, I was already eager to return here to see what other pieces will be showcased here. This gallery takes pride in curating and it shows!

RedSea Gallery is right next to Dempsey Project and is quite an interesting gallery. Just when we were searching what we could do, we stumbled on this fine Gallery.

Firstly, entry is free and the place is very well maintained. Kudos the the management there. I noticed the receptionist volunteering to share information and keep guests informed on the different art and paintings.

The gallery was well curated and well lit. You can spend ample time looking at the gallery and head out.

Overall, a must see place and definitely recommended. We absolutely loved it! You will too!

Small little museum and I would consider this a hidden find. Never knew there is a camera museum in Singapore. The person must have spent a bomb on the collections. Vintage and every milestone in photography, definitely an eye-opener. The tour was a good one, carried out by a photography enthusiast - brief and simple, what amazed me was the collection that is on display. Surprisingly spent longer than intended as we took a walk through history of photography in a small little space.

The museum is like a big room with all the different cameras through the years. The history on how it was developed was very educating. You can take photos and even hold some of the camera relics. This is great for photography enthusiasts. It could be developed more by adding more exhibits of old photos and probably have a souvenir shop. As a photographer, I personally enjoyed my visit here :)

Extremely rude female receptionist, called in to inquire but response I got were very rude remarks, to quote” if you don’t trust my words then so be it” so disappointed to know this is the kind of service standard that is being given to the public. It was a great breather away from the hustle and bustle, and heat on the streets. We spent around 2 hours in the museum learning about vintage cameras with a very friendly guide and his son. It was fun, educational and entertaining, we had an awesome time hanging out with them. You will also get the chance to have a hands-on feel with some of the vintage cameras too! The guide was absolutely amazing and took great shots of us! Thanks for the warmth extended! A must visit if you're around the area! 😊

Can take many many tumblr photos, especially with the special event booths going on. Nice place to chill if you have time. Free for Singaporeans. Lively place both in the morning and evening.
Beautiful arrangements and architecture, awesome building. We can get good clear picture about Singapore history and culture. I was enjoyed and learn lot about thire history.. Each and everyone should visit this place in your life time. It's Quite silent, nice and calm place. Good maintenance. Keep it up. Good luck.
An interesting Art Museum showing rare masterpieces of Claude Monet and other Impressionists. I expected less from this museum, but was impressed to see loaned masterpieces from European galleries, like d'Orsay. At time of our visit (March 2018) there was a special exhibition, showing masterpieces from Monet, Renoir, Juan Luna and others. The building itself is a spectacular, Neoclassical in style, but too large for the pieces of art i offers. An hour is enough to take at look at the most prominent pictures.
If you are living in Singapore then you should definitely visit this National Museum one day because this shows you the history of Singapore by various exhibitions, historic objects and many audio clippings.
The Museum shows you the beginning of this land by portraits and clips too
If you are an art lover you should not miss this place in Level 1 (history) cause you will love it.
In Level 2 its a forest journey and you will enjoy if you're with your family or friends
Your kids will love the 3D experience in Level2.
A Basement Level is also opened now which is about Polaroid. If you are a science lover you will love it.
Altogether it was a good experience.
Located on Dempsey hill, the Redsea Gallery is an interesting visit. The regular exhibits are works of 5-6 artists like James Murray, Alexandera Spyratos, Saiful Rachman, Liegh Hewson etc. Though one would hope for more exhibits, the gallery has refreshing artworks. If you can combine your visit with the many choices for F&B on Dempsey hill, the outing is really worthwhile.

There are some nice exhibitions here at the time of my visit five days ago, ticket for 6 local dollars, relatively cheap in local standards.

You can see some artistic videos which are shown as artworks, and also some very contemporary conception and representatiom of different arts. It worths to pay a visit if you like arts especially cinematic arts. But if you just want to see some fine arts, you would need to wait for opening of the other galleries.

The main museum was nearly closed, probably under renovation. There was only a free exhibition there showing the museum history. I don't know why the art museum of such a developed state would be nearly closed anytime!
Visited the museum for the special exhibition (Manila Galleon) and there was an interactive activity for children (via the use of QR codes and a website) to keep them busy while adults can spend some time viewing and learning about the artifacts on display. There are small souvenirs for children who completes a certain number of the stations, which can nudge kids to be more proactive.

Great for kids and adults alike with plenty of exhibits that educate and engage. The interactive exhibits are popular. The little cinema on L2 plays short animated films that are rather well made.
