Ms. Joyce and the entire Lightbridge Academy (Downtown Brooklyn) staff currently provide exceptional care for my 3.8-year-old daughter. I cannot thank them enough for all that they do to keep my daughter safe, healthy, and happy. The school is kept clean, and the teachers are highly organized and experienced. An additional bonus for parents is the daily access to the classroom via WatchMeGrow. It will be a sad day when our daughter outgrows the school once she turns 5 years old! Keep up the great work, everyone!

I came to this JobCorps 2007 long time ago the only thing I didn’t like about this place is the favoritism and they hardly help much in tutoring to get your ged . Some teachers were okay at teaching but not all so great just my opinión the security here always gave attitude and also they was super strict about the cellphones and dress code

I really like the program, my daughter is learning so much! They focus on the typical learning items like colors and shapes as well as teaching her how to be a good friend and cleaning up after herself. I appreciate that the staff is responsive and we get many updates throughout the day. I also enjoy having the video monitoring as it allows me to get a peek into my child’s day and also gives me additional security about the safety of the center.

I'm giving this school 1 star simply for everything being free and decent protection while in school. They are very strict upon walking into the building and what you bring with you. The food is also decent but some days you have to wait almost 15-20 minutes for the line to move, and the other students are kind. But as of the staff of this school- completely unprofessional in the way they plan for the day, sideways smiles and attitudes the next. They are always saying they'll do something and they don't, you have to constantly ask, or do it yourself, very much grown dishonest adults, displaying gossip with each other and students, along with favortism. The culinary teacher here is extremely disrespectful in the way he speaks to students, there has been several complaints with management involved but they refuse to make a change. They leave out important information like not being able to graduate until your 18 if you start here at 16, even if your trade is short. They prolong your stay, move very slow. The day is from 8am to 3:40, majority of the day students are sitting doing nothing unless they are in trade class. But the most frustrating part of attending this specific Job Corps is how unorganized and dishonest staff are.

Used for backup care for a few years until our child aged out. The facilities and staff are amazing. She was always well cared for and she was always happy to go. Felt like family and we are sad that she aged out.

We have been wanting to go for a while and happy we came to check it out! You can tell that so much thought and effort went into creating these exhibits, the kids had a great time! The museum can def use some TLC as some of the exhibits were broken or rundown but I can imagine upkeeping a museum is expensive and not so easy. Overall the kids had a great time, thank you!

An amazing place for kids and adults to have an amazing time great place

Deceitful location. I had an interview with them and Joyce Lopez (who was reprimanding a staff member in my presence) stated that they would call me back the following Monday. Never received a call. I called twice for a follow up, spoke to the office assistant who said that she was “in a meeting, and that she would give me a call back”. Never did. If I was not a perfect fit, that’s where PROFESSIONALISM comes in on their behalf. Their staff always calls out from what Lopez told me From observing the classrooms and interacting with the staff and children (part of the interview) staff seems overwhelmed and over it.

My daughter has been attending the school for two months now and we couldn’t be happier. She is in the elementary classroom and thriving. The guides and the administration teams have been phenomenal with updates and communication.
The curriculum focuses on inspiring the child and have them take the lead in seeking the knowledge. Last week she received a lesson on the coins and she decided to make a whole PPT presentation for the whole class about coins and she coupled that with a work sheet that she drafted for each child. As a parent, I was impressed with what a 9 years old can do on a Montessori environment. Also, I was so relieved when I learnt they do language and Math assessments to make sure each child is progressing according to their grade level.
Also, the fact that the school offers extended care was extremely helpful for me as a working parent.
Each single staff member I interacted with was extremely professional and deeply care about the wellbeing of each student.
Enroll your child in this school and you’ll never regret the decision.

Very aggressive security guy ! What a bad experience I won't come back again !

Very dangerous security guy ! Not a safe place at all. Very disappointed

Go in with low expectations. At this museum, quantity exceeds quality.
Upkeep is apalling. Many activities appear to have been broken for years. Total apathy on behalf of the museum leadership? Clearly it’s no one’s job to just walk around and see if stuff works, and then get it fixed if it doesn’t.
As a fellow Jew, I’m embarrassed. And as a Jewish dad, I’m disheartened that my kids are going to associate “bad children’s museums” with our faith.
It’s especially frustrating for activities that kind of work - like a Sukkot puzzle where only 5 of 7 doors open, or a Shabbat matching game with a few broken buttons. You get invested and then, BAM, you can’t do what you want.
The saving grace is the Quantity of stuff to do and see. My kids (7 and 5) spent 4.5 happy hours. So not all bad!

Cool. Once was enough for me but once is a must.

What a lovely space!!! 100% recommend!

Just saw a wonderful immersive Arthur Miller work. The Hook

Good spot and trully memorable place

Horrible experience nice little tricks but never in my life…went on a trip wit my son school n was there abt 20 mins kids couldn’t use the bathroom pretty much got kicked out sent somewhere around the bend and was asked for a check…do not recommend yes he seemed nice but nothing for the kids to do they sat on the floor the whole time just reallly bad experience

The 3/5 is because the math teacher is nice but the lessons are not thought out or well organized. He does not go through the handouts with the class & calls it ‘independent study’. They create an inflexible 8-3:40 schedule for all students & the initial 5 week student intro period I feel could be cut back to 3 weeks because it gets repetitive. It is a great program nonetheless. They helped with drivers ed and acquiring certificates I needed

My son started at Lightbridge accidentally. My job uses them for backup care and the plan was for me to use them while the foster care agency situates our voucher. Long story short, we’ll be staying at Lightbridge. From the moment we walked in, Joyce put me at ease. My son hadn’t been away from me for more than a couple hours at that point and honestly, they did everything they could to help him transition. If you’re looking for a nurturing place for your child, look no further. Everyone has truly been amazing!

Our son has been going to Lightbridge since it opened last year and he's had a great time.
The teachers do a wonderful job attending to the kids, making sure they're learning the appropriate skills, and encouraging the kids to grow and learn. The teachers are kind and have a wealth of knowledge for a new parent such as myself. They've made such wonderful suggestions on baby gear, eating tools, and how to help me help my son hit his next milestones.
The manager, Joyce, and her assistant manager, Julian, are both extremely dedicated to all of their students and are always well aware of each and every students needs.
The facility is brand new and has a stroller room for you to store your stroller during the day. There are two infant classrooms, one 1-2 year old classroom, one 2-3 year old classroom, and one 3 year old classroom. We toured each and have brought friends by to tour the other classrooms and they're all well run and all the kids were excited to be there and learn.

I have been a student at Brooklyn Music Studio since I was 7 and it has been an absolutely incredible experience! Hagai and Jinah are amazing teachers, who are very good with working with kids of all ages and up to all levels. I am now going to Brown University for music and I can't capture in a review how grateful I am to the Brooklyn Music Studio for teaching me so much! Jinah is an amazing music theory teacher as well as a virtuosically talented piano teacher and player, and Hagai is an incredible violin and viola teacher and player (he focuses on building the most important technique skills and is kind and patient while still a challenging teacher.) In their lessons, both Hagai and Jinah meet you where you are, giving you the tools and skills to improve without shaming you. They are also extraordinarily welcoming, kind and funny people!

Was expecting a great experience and educational elements for my 5 year old daughter. The kids supermarket was good and she enjoyed it. However the rest of the museum is falling apart and little to no depth in anything that teaches of Jidaism or Jewish history. The mini golf area is dangerous with bricks laying around...rather spend your money in the Brooklyn children's museum just a 5 minute walk away. Very disappointing.

My daughter started here a month ago and I can say for sure they are the best. Not only are they communicative but the way they all care for my baby girl. From Joyce to Julian and her amazing teachers.
Oh did I forget to mention their parent view!!!! Which parent wouldn't want to see what their baby is doing at the moment or every second..yup you got that right. While working I can just turn on parent view constantly and will steal glances at real time moments in her class. I love this daycare and I'm happy I went with them. So clean and professional...communication is excellent. Thank you Downtown Brooklyn Lightbridge Academy really appreciate it.

Don’t get me wrong this school is not a bad school it just need more support for students who got IEP. They had tutoring yes on school hours but not enough support they use make me be in school up 4:35 not really doing nothing has much. After school support be fun. But since the math teacher got fire. They wanted me to do more math but don’t come to school is you feel like you going waist your time coming. I went home students get out at 3:50 but I don’t be in school up 4:35 I use do but no more. I did not want be after school because you don’t really got do anything.

Love this school, great teachers

Our kids have learned violin and piano at this studio for 5 years now. They are wonderful teachers and have built a great community of music students over the years. We would encourage for anyone interested in a real music program for their kids.

While temporarily living in New York, my children had the pleasure of attending Guidepost in Brooklyn Heights. My two boys enjoyed their time in the Children’s House. The transparent classroom is a different approach than other schools and we were able to follow our children’s weekly lessons and see great progress. Would definitely recommend. Thank you to all the wonderful guides, you’ll be missed!

THIS IS THE WORST JOB CORPS TO ATTEND THE FRONT DESK SECURITY LADY IS MEAN AND UNINVITING ASFFF & THE STAFF IS WORSE THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT IT IS THE CMA TEACHER , MATH TEACHER & ENGLISH TEACHER THE REST OF THEM NEED TO BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY

Through The Brooklyn Music Studio, when my boys were younger, they experienced Suzuki violin with wonder and devotion. Jinah and Hagai are so talented and simply golden. My sons, now teenagers today, continue to embrace music with appreciation and creativity that was inspired from their earlier years at the Studio. It’s a very special place!

Surreal spot to stumble upon! David was incredibly friendly. Must see for water lovers.

We arrived at Guidepost after three years at a small Waldorf school and couldn't be more pleased with Guidepost Montessori BH. The school director, faculty, and staff are so wonderfully kind and supportive, we can see and feel them connecting deeply with both our children. The kids go out twice a day to a small field overlooking the waterfront. We look forward to teacher-parent conferences and reading school reports, which also show great sensitivity, kindness, and respect.

We were welcomed warmly into the Guidepost Montessori community after an unfortunate mishap with a previous school. The administration guided us with such clarity, grace and care that we knew immediately we had found a gem! My now 7 year old is often eager to get to school, make a plan for his work and equally eager to relay the days happenings at pick up. The classroom teachers are so detailed in their communication that I never feel left out or confused about what occurs in the classroom. Guidepost Montessori is somewhat of an ideal school! From it’s clear communication, attention to detail and overall happy students I have found an incredible school environment for my son for years to come!

We are very happy with our experience at Guidepost Montessori, Brooklyn Heights. The teachers and administration are all wonderful - they care deeply that all children are happy, learning, and getting what they need to thrive. They also teach kids that learning can be fun, how to independently explore, work within a group, and communicate respectfully to others.
The school has done a wonderful job of communicating the individual updates for each child, but also what's going on in the school, how to get involved, and what's coming up for the families and kids. They spend recess outdoors in nearby parks, and offer after school care where they go outside again. The facility is on the smaller side, but it offers an intimate space for children to learn and grow in.
We've had nothing but positive feelings since joining the Guidepost family. We are so happy we found it!

I cannot speak more highly of the teachers and staff at Guidepost Montessori at Brooklyn Heights, and of the school program as a whole.
In the 6 months than our son has been a student in the Children's House program (3-6 year olds), he has grown in such amazing ways. He is more grounded, mature, curious, courageous, patient, respectful, and communicative. I am so proud of our son, and I am so grateful to everyone at the school.
The teachers are kind, gifted, knowledgeable & dedicated. They are excellent at facilitating the students in dually independent & collaborative learning approach that Montessori schools are known for.
Our son has developed genuine and meaningful connections to his teachers, both in the classroom & during after school. I can feel how much they really care about him and his development. And he just loves them all!
The style of learning the school provides is just what our son needs. He has space to explore is own interests (everything!) and at his own pace (fast!) through the independent work cycles during each day. He has the opportunity to go outside everyday to the beautiful Brooklyn bridge park to explore nature with his classmates, which is an absolute must for him - as he definitely needs lots of space to run and he loves the natural world.
My favorite part of the learning approach for our son's age-group, is that he is first learning lots of practice life styles to strengthen his focus, coordination, and process, before diving into more abstract subjects. It is serving as a great bridge for him.
With simple but impactful activities like grinding coffee, juicing oranges, serving tea, watering plants, rolling and unrolling mats - he is firstly learning How To Learn. This has helped him so much to transition into the classroom environment with activities he already loves to do (like prep veggies and water plants).
Also, one incredible perk of this school is that the teachers take photos of our son throughout each day (along with detailed descriptions of what activity or lesson he is working on, how this fits into his learning program, and how his is progressing) and they share them with us on a simple digital platform we access from home. I get to see multiple photos and descriptions of his lessons EVERYDAY - which is priceless. I know exactly what he's working on, so I can continue those activities at home, and I can have real conversations with him about his day b/c I have a window into what he's done.
I am so grateful our son is at Guidepost Montessori, and I sincerely recommend the school to any parent looking for a safe, peaceful, enriching space for their child to grow.
Thank you Guidepost at BK Heights!

I know Renee, the Director of this school and she is the best there is. I am so jealous of Downtown Brooklyn because you are so lucky to have her. I have had the pleasure to work with her and along side her, and she is absolutely wonderful. She has been a great mentor to me and she is an amazing person. This school is so beautiful and the equipment is state of the art. Lightbridge provides a good balance of family values and support, like a home away from home and Renee is at the heart of it. This is a great place for families, and from the moment you walk in through the doors, you will feel like you are home again.

OTA is a brainwash company. I attended to the four free hours orientation, the three day classes in Brooklyn then I registered for the courses online that I would have the option to attend two classes in Brooklyn too. I did not have the money and they made it accesible to finance it. K promised that they will work with my scheduled because I was finishing a college degree which I finished it on July 2020.It was a big lie the pandemic came and I just attended one class. I called to get my money back and they just made excuses saying that We will work with me. The only focus with the OTA's representatives are to get your money and get you into more debt than I was. They are extremely kind at the moment that they enrolled you into the courses. They pretend they care but it is the money that they care about it. I did not get my money back and I did not get the classes. I lost the money.Be careful and think before you sign up. thank you

we are the proud parent of our 6 year old son who has been thriving in this school. The teachers and team are kind and available. I have witnessed our son change in a positive way due to the methodology of this school. He has learned how to be more responsible and inquire more what others want rather than just what his desires are. I also have seen big improvements on his writing and reading and just general interest in learning. I am very grateful for having this available to our son amidst all the craziness of this pandemic. I highly recommend this school.

I first discovered Montessori when my son was very young and feel in love with the pedagogy.
When I learned Guidepost Montessori was coming to our neighborhood, I was ecstatic and one of the first to sign up. The school is beautiful inside and out - from materials used, design of the classroom, the building’s big windows, neighborhood location next to the park and the amazing teachers and staff. That would normally be enough. But they have continually gone beyond.
We signed on just before the pandemic for our son to start in the fall. When everything shutdown, Guidepost reached out and literally saved my days by offering a virtual program that we could start early. That’s when I truly knew what kind of amazing community and organization Guidepost was. I really will never forget the support they offered to not only my son but also to me in being able to deal in that transition and beyond. I was able to have 1-1 meetings with my own parent concierge weekly.
Fall came and I was still hesitant about returning as we were all still learning and adapting in these times. Moshe and the school have been so amazing and supportive through all of my questions and anxiety every step of the way. Having our son back in school and able to interact with everyone has been so helpful on so many levels. While still contending with a pandemic, the teachers, staff and management as well as the Montessori environment in a small school has helped make the transition back to IRL easier and I couldn’t do this without them.

OTA is a great place to learn how to trade. I knew nothing about trading before joining up. Now I look forward to events on the economic calendar.
Our instructor this week Jerry Baldwin provided us a clear powerful way to cash flow the futures markets.

One of the most scenic waterfront views to catch the Brooklyn sunsets 🥰 Cool small museum!

Worse school, some teachers dont give you support, some counselors don't give you support, when you want to speak to some of the staff the have attitudes, thought job corps suppose to prepare for work (the in and out ) this school is bad the kids of nyc should have support in school Especially if they not getting it at home

The Amazing Waterfront Museum
The 1914 Barge has been restored beautifully. So cool to be shown around by Captain David who lives there and to find out about the history of the barge and the area.
Free to enter, but you can give a donation if you wish.
Only open on Thursdays (4-8pm) & Saturdays (1-5pm) - I was lucky to go on a quiet Thursday evening which meant I was the only person there. Plus got some Amazing views of Statue of Liberty at Sunset from right outside the Barge. If your visiting from May onwards they hold lots of different events, so best to check there website :)

The magic of the Brooklyn Music Studio is its teachers' ability to combine warm, delight-inducing musical education with precise and effective teaching of technique. My son started studying with Jinah about four years ago, after I realized that his in-home piano teacher wasn't actually teaching him how to shape his hands and body to bring beautiful sounds out of the instrument. That was exactly what Jinah began to do from day one, and the transformation in our son's playing has been wonderful. Jinah also fosters her students' joy in music through her group lessons, recently focusing on the work of particular composers each month (this spring we studied Debussy, Prokofief, Piazzolla, and Chopin). Hagai Kamil, who teaches violin, is equally wonderful, as is Erich Schoen-Rene on cello. We've loved our experience at BMS in every way.

The Brooklyn Music Studio, Hagai.and Jinah are just amazing. My two children started with Hagai and Jinah since the age of 4 and have grown up 18 and19 years old(graduated from the Studio) playing the violin/viola. I can only praise their teachers because of their knowledgeable consistant, child friendly teaching approach to the Suzuki method. They've encourage and challenged my kids and myself during difficult times and worked with my family to see them graduate and not only that become lovers of music!

My sons, 11 and 7 have been taking piano lessons with Jinah since they were 5 years old. She is truly an amazing person and teacher. In all the lessons that I have attended with my kids, Jinah is patient, friendly and passionate in teaching. She encourages my kids to feel confident and proud of their accomplishments. I am very happy that my boys have become an amazing pianist.

A wonderfully rigorous and joyous Suzuki program and conservatory in the heart of Park Slope. My child began there just shy of four years old and now eight years later has had options to enter pre-college programs like Julliard or Manhattan Music as well as more casual options through chamber and piano trio groups. Because the school offers so many options and the teachers are artists and professionals as well as parents my child has been deeply nurtured and equipped to find his own path through the rich world of music. The intimate and dynamic program offers the rare opportunity for music students across the spectrum to learn theory, and technique in an immersive Suzuki setting but at their own pace.

Great school, excellent teachers!!! Hagai and Jinah are very warm and welcoming, they provide a very comfortable atmosphere for the students which to me is very important for children to learn (or want to learn). Love recital time!!! They get to show what they have learnt and the progress made.
The school’s approach to teaching music is a proven success...my daughter has improved tremendously since starting at the school, not just with the violin but her confidence has also improved. Now she plays at our church without hesitation and she never wants to miss a lesson.
I love their flexibilty and willingness to work with parents... this makes it very convenient especially when time is an issue. Would not go anywhere else!!!.

The Jewish Children's Musuem of Brooklyn is a fabulous place to get an introduction to many many aspects of jewish life. The exhibits, arrangements and activites are all very educational and very well done. Plus there is a 3 subway statiom across the street. If you need a minyan 770 is 100 feet away.

Amazing instruction! I decided to re-take Jerry Baldwin’s futures class this week. Attending his class has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my trading career! Jerry provides a clear and systematic approach to identifying entry and exit points that I believe can greatly enhance my success as a futures trader. I am thankful for Online Trading Academy and the New York team’s ability to assemble some of the most amazing instructors in the world! From Jerry Baldwin to Bob Dunn to John Rowland, I have learned an unbelievable amount in the past year. Thank you OTA NY!

Very nice place for your lovely children becoz 5 floors of full of activity awesome.....!!!

Excellent Instructor!
I participated in OTA's Futures Class this week, led by Jerry Baldwin. During the week, Jerry taught us multiple high probability strategies that can increase our odds of generating consistent income in the index futures markets. I received precise and insightful instruction on an array of topics in a relaxed and fun manner. I have no doubt that I will be a more profitable trader because of the strategies that Jerry shared this week! Thank You!

Had an amazing week this past week at the Futures class offered at Online Trading Academy Brooklyn. Many thanks for the wonderful staff for their exceptional hospitality they showed me and the students all week. The live trades being presented from the front of the room and the student's ability to be Hands-On and participate in them made for a great learning atmosphere. The students enthusiasm and participation also contributed to an exceptional learning environment. I would strongly recommend this Futures class to anyone interested in taking their trading to the next level Jerry :-)

I go to this school. Its AMAZING!!!The teachers help you out and there is free tutoring!they teach you higher level stuff so you will always get challenged. As a student in basis I am pleased with my education, welcoming and so much more.I recommend this for everyone!!!😎😎😀

I am a student who goes to this school so it be in your best interest to trust me here. This school is a school that goes beyond limits of the education they teach in public schools and enhances that and creates a brand new foundation that is worth your time. I mean seriously kids are learning algebra so fast in this school and it shows what kids are capable of. The teachers have reserved hours for students to come in and study and ask questions which really shows how strong the teacher and kid relationship is compared to others. It also holds special events that really let the kids socialize with others. But it can be very stressful for students so make sure students are mentally prepared for the long homework nights and study nights. Thus this school is a great school and pushes the boundaries of others.

Terrible executive administration led by individuals with little to no leadership, managerial, or problem-solving skills- mostly incompetent; high staff turnover; low morale among students and staff; some great teachers most of whom receive nearly zero support from adminstration; no consistency or structure on the logistical side of things--lots of talk, little action; and the list goes on, which is too bad for the students

As an instructor with Online Trading Academy for the last 8 years, I have had an opportunity to teach in many of our centers in the United States and abroad. Brooklyn is one of my favorites. It is brand new and is located right near the Barclay Center. The atmosphere is inviting, the staff welcomes all new students with a friendly, helpful attitude. You should make a point of visiting the center and meeting with the staff and attend one of the orientation presentations. From learning our unique Core Strategy to making sure you achieve your retirement goals, I am sure you will be excited about what Brooklyn Online Trading Academy has to offer. Hope to see you there soon!

I would say this program is great for anyone who want to start a successful career . it's a fact that some of the staff members are unprofessional. However, that should not stop you from taking advantage of free training, free GED or High school Equivalent certification, free food, assistance for Job search and transportation. not just that if you choose to take advance training they will take full charge of you for 2 years additional. Advance training offers you to take another job training or go to college either one one you choice they will still support you with transportation lunch money, they pay for you to take summer college class's so you will have additional 3 college semesters a year. Over all the program is great what you get out of it all depend on you, what you want, what you want to achieve and goals you want to follow. . Mr. "Lyndell L. Pittman" one of the great center director follow by "Timisha Wagoner" Training Manager she is the mommy of all students. Mr. B. high school diploma excellent teacher. I hope this message was helpful in making your decision.

Beautifully designed space. lots of light and modern touches everywhere1

Amazing experience so far for my prek child. I am happy we discovered the school. Focused on preparing the kids for tomorrow's world, as it continues to change.

My time with the Online Trading Academy has been great since the start of my journey with the program. Both my online courses and in person training classes, had great instructors whom, are dedicated to professionalism and skillful at the subjects discussed. I recently had the opportunity of attending Futures class with Michelle Volmering last week in Brooklyn location. Michelle is fresh and authenthic and naturally expresses the subject that's so complex with ease. For the past two years , I have been inspired by the OTA curriculum with its staff and support to continue my commitment to financial freedom .

Great school I went in 2014 into the 2015 year and it was the best decision that I've made. The teachers really cared about the students the food was good and the recreation area was a great place to let off steam. I thought job corps was for trouble kids but I soon found out it was for more then that and to this day I'm super grateful.

Online Trading Academy has been such a life-changing experience for both my wife and myself. For those considering enrolling, all I can say is that it will be the best thing you could do for yourself and your family. Virtually all of the instructors and staff care deeply about having each and every student understand and master their curriculum. Genuinely nice people. Without a doubt, I could NOT have learned all of this from just buying a book, (and I read a lot). OTA provides so many great tools. Their support includes their trade recommendations and analysis. I enjoy attending the live online classes, as well as live on-site classes. Many of the sessions are recorded so that you can review it again. In particular, I enjoy the "Clubhouse" live online sessions where students and instructor share ideas. Learning to trade successfully requires this bond between the instructors and staff and students. This school does it so well.

The teachers really work well with the students!

My oldest son started kindergarten this year and we love it. Can't say enough great things about this school. Teachers, administration, building itself, head of school - everything is superb. Education redefined indeed! Very happy with our decision sending him to Basis and our youngest will start there as well as soon as he is old enough.
