I came to this JobCorps 2007 long time ago the only thing I didn’t like about this place is the favoritism and they hardly help much in tutoring to get your ged . Some teachers were okay at teaching but not all so great just my opinión the security here always gave attitude and also they was super strict about the cellphones and dress code

I'm giving this school 1 star simply for everything being free and decent protection while in school. They are very strict upon walking into the building and what you bring with you. The food is also decent but some days you have to wait almost 15-20 minutes for the line to move, and the other students are kind. But as of the staff of this school- completely unprofessional in the way they plan for the day, sideways smiles and attitudes the next. They are always saying they'll do something and they don't, you have to constantly ask, or do it yourself, very much grown dishonest adults, displaying gossip with each other and students, along with favortism. The culinary teacher here is extremely disrespectful in the way he speaks to students, there has been several complaints with management involved but they refuse to make a change. They leave out important information like not being able to graduate until your 18 if you start here at 16, even if your trade is short. They prolong your stay, move very slow. The day is from 8am to 3:40, majority of the day students are sitting doing nothing unless they are in trade class. But the most frustrating part of attending this specific Job Corps is how unorganized and dishonest staff are.

The 3/5 is because the math teacher is nice but the lessons are not thought out or well organized. He does not go through the handouts with the class & calls it ‘independent study’. They create an inflexible 8-3:40 schedule for all students & the initial 5 week student intro period I feel could be cut back to 3 weeks because it gets repetitive. It is a great program nonetheless. They helped with drivers ed and acquiring certificates I needed

Don’t get me wrong this school is not a bad school it just need more support for students who got IEP. They had tutoring yes on school hours but not enough support they use make me be in school up 4:35 not really doing nothing has much. After school support be fun. But since the math teacher got fire. They wanted me to do more math but don’t come to school is you feel like you going waist your time coming. I went home students get out at 3:50 but I don’t be in school up 4:35 I use do but no more. I did not want be after school because you don’t really got do anything.

I would say this program is great for anyone who want to start a successful career . it's a fact that some of the staff members are unprofessional. However, that should not stop you from taking advantage of free training, free GED or High school Equivalent certification, free food, assistance for Job search and transportation. not just that if you choose to take advance training they will take full charge of you for 2 years additional. Advance training offers you to take another job training or go to college either one one you choice they will still support you with transportation lunch money, they pay for you to take summer college class's so you will have additional 3 college semesters a year. Over all the program is great what you get out of it all depend on you, what you want, what you want to achieve and goals you want to follow. . Mr. "Lyndell L. Pittman" one of the great center director follow by "Timisha Wagoner" Training Manager she is the mommy of all students. Mr. B. high school diploma excellent teacher. I hope this message was helpful in making your decision.
