It's a take away place. You get to see fresh bread being baked and the place smells so good if you love the smell of fresh bread.

It was our second visit to Pollen Bakery this past Thursday and it was still busy but we were well taken care of. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. We both had Turkish eggs and we are familiar to the classical version, however Pollen does it with a twist with green peas and wild chanterelle mushrooms which I love and seem to be hard to find. It was so flavourful and well balanced. Served with the sourdough bread freshly baked on site.
Their seasonal blackberry danish was so delicious I had to tell everyone at work to try it 😃 we will definitely be back. My friend said the almond croissant was the best she’s ever had. We also have to make sure next time we come early enough to get pain au chocolat too.

Brought my son in here for some pastry and it did not disappoint! We’re staying close by so I googled bakery’s this one stood out to me again did not disappoint staff were welcoming, we ordered got seated and food followed right after. When I’m back in Manchester I’ll be sure to visit again! I got the almond croissant my lad got plain croissant both were 10/10 the juices were delicious although the coffee was lacking strength I like a strong coffee but it wasn’t a issue it’s just a preference I can deal with that. All together this place is definitely worth a visit. Look forward to returning.

One of the best bakeries I have ever tried.
We bought some bakeries and then went and bought again we simply couldn’t stop.
Mouth melting bakeries with excellent service.
We ordered kinder croissant and Doce de leite cruffin, and then reordered Doce de leite cruffin.
Can’t ask for more ❤️

This is such a cute, delicious and unique bakery! I absolutely LOVE the flat baker. The staff are so friendly, helpful and welcoming. And the pastries! Oh my goodness, they are AMAZING! My favourite is the croissant tiramisu. I really recommend this bakery to anyone. They have lots of varieties, so there's something for everyone <3333
The Grilled Aubergine sandwich is beyond imagination. I have enjoyed it .the bread is delicious ,the sauce ,the walnuts in it bring it to another level. It was my first time but will definitely come again

There’s something so delightful about this place. It can be incredibly busy but you don’t mind because you know you will enjoy what you get. The coffee is lovely, the food is always fresh, my friends went there multiple times because they loved it too. The only thing I had on the menu that I didn’t like was the grilled cheese. It was too rich and overly done. My friends had some too and were not a fan. The rest superb👌🏼

A mixed bag here so bear with me!

Firstly location is lovely, right on the canal. If the weather is nice, lots of outside seating too.

When I went we had to sit inside as was raining. The inside space is quite small and it was a shared table which isn't ideal but at least we were seated quickly.

Now the food...I had the Eggs Benedict and I have to say it was probably one of the best I have had in Manchester (and I've been to a fair few).

My 2 boys can be quite fussy with food but both of them demolished the Cumberland Sausage and Set Egg buns.

I got to try theirs too and again, delicious.

I decided that I HAD to try some of the desserts because the food had been that good, so decided to order 4 different ones to take home.

This was where I was less impressed, they looked amazing and the bake for each was really good too, but the actual flavours weren't there for me. They were OK at best which was a shame.

Overall I would 100% suggest you try this place for brunch and get some hot food, but I would take or leave the desserts...
Got a slice of treacle tart, which was super yummy, and I think their bread was the best we had in Manchester! The baker was also super friendly!

Extremely busy place so be prepared to wait a bit. Our coffees and brunch took a bit of time, they seemed rushed off their feet.

The sausage and egg roll is really good, as is the focaccia tartine, which changes daily with different toppings. I would have appreciated some options on the toppings though.

Price wise, quite ok for the location and the quality of the produce is good. Note to servers, I appreciate if you’re busy but when pointed to a table, it would be nice to have tables wiped down for guests. We had to clean our own.

I recently visited The Flat Baker and, although there are no seating options, I was pleasantly surprised by their delicious offerings. I tried the pistachio brioche with ice cream, which was fantastic, and the Pastel de Nata, which was exceptional. I will definitely be returning to try other items on their menu. Wishing you continued success!

My wife and I visited some close friends recently in Manchester. We come from Dallas, TX so I told said friend. Show me the best your country has got to offer. First place he took us to was The Baker's Oven.
It delivered. Actually I have no idea if they deliver or not but it was freaking amazing. I think I ordered one thing from each row. Then another for my wife but really just ordered hers so I could order it with the intention of not sharing it, eating it but not look like a complete tubby while ordering it. I'm like pretty smart like that.
This place should be considered a national landmark of your country because it needs to be protected. If there's not a sign that says "King Charles totes eats here every other Thursday" then I question his judgement.
Go eat here
Amazing Scandinavian style bakery located right in the heart of Islington wharf. The kids and I had been exploring Mayfield Park (approx 15 mins walk from the wharf) and decided to head to Pollen for some brunch.
The bakery was extremely busy when we arrived, however this didn't deter us from waiting for a table.
We chose to sit inside but there were several seats outside too. Our servers were very friendly and despite the wait the food and coffee was exceptionally good and very reasonably priced.
The egg breakfast muffin was delicious and the neapolitan cookie was very enjoyable.

If I lived near by I'm sure I would be regular as this bakery is truly my kind of place.

very tasty food for a light brunch , staff very friendly and helpful. i've been a couple times and always had such a positive experience.
i love how the menu moves slightly with the season so you never feel like youre bored with whats on the menu
If you care about bread in Manchester, try this place. You'll find long fermented sourdough along with very nice pizza and creative cakes - I had one with spelt and courgette, if I remember correctly, and I'll tell you, I could eat that cake all day. It's the real deal and they have loads of knowledge and passion about baking. Tucked inside a shopping centre and did take a bit of finding, but totally worth it.

We went mid morning on a Saturday, there was a Q but it didn’t take long and we got seated quickly. Food looked and tasted amazing! We got the sausage and egg brioche bun and the Tiramisu French toast! Both were incredible! We also got some Focaccia and other pastries to take home! I’m definitely coming back!

The seasonal danish’s are the best pastry I’ve ever had. Please bring back the apple crumble one 😍 and the bread is amazing. I cannot recommend it enough, better than all the bakery’s in ancoats, not too sickly. Get there early though on the weekends cause they run out. They always say hi to the dog and are really friendly.

Soooo good, freshly baked goods daily, what else do you want.
Everything we tried was delicious pastry’s nice and flaky.
Cakes deliciously rich in flavour and moist.
Salmon on toast fresh from the kitchen, really really yummy and also plated very nicely.
Everything as expected 👍.
Massive queue on the weekend we went but kind of expected that.
Took some cookies for the train journey home which I was soooo happy to have while sitting in a full and stuffy train.

First time in Manchester and since I'm staying around the area, the bakery was only a 2min walk away and I decided to give it a try. Best decision of my life. I got the garlic cheese brioche and it was absolutely delicious, the bread was fluffy and the garlic cheese was so yummy. Best thing was, the hot chocolate I got was one of the best I've had in my life. Now I'm sad that I don't permanently live in Manchester. Thank you Companio for making my morning :DDDD . I WOULD HIGHLY recommend this bakery to anyone visiting the area, what a gem

Wonderful little bakery with awesome staff and seriously tasty treats! The pastries are heavenly; I've tried a bunch, and they all hit the spot. Just had their pesto and salami sandwich, and the combo of homemade pesto and bread was spot on. They've got some savory options I'm definitely checking out soon. By the way, it's only takeout.
Got a sourdough loaf and a focaccia sandwich. Sandwich was light and delicious and the loaf was very well baked as well!!

Best bakery in Manchester. These pay a fair wage so their staff are always friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely interested in helping and answering any questions. They take their social responsibility as seriously as they take their baking and it shows. Well worth the prices but get down early if you want their most popular items or just chance the specials, can't really ever go wrong.

Really lovely artisan bakery offering a wide selection of buttery pastries. We had the croissants which tasted better than the ones in France and some other baked goods which were really lovely. I would advise to get there early to avoid as possible. I really wanted the pain au chocolat, but we got there at 11ish on a Saturday and they were sold out. Will definitely be visiting again.

Blown away by the excellent Scandinavian inspired food and coffee. I had the French Toast and it was arguably the best French Toast I’ve ever had. I thoroughly enjoyed the indulgent buttery flavours an I'm already looking forward to returning soon to explore more of their delightful offerings! Highly recommended for pastry lovers!

Staff do not listen to the order !!!
Asked for 2 cappuccinos and a sausage roll
They served me with 1 latte and a sausage roll.
Not Hygienic touching mouth then putting lids on drinks
Poor service I couldn't even scan loyalty rewards as the scanner was broken

What is happening at this Greggs bakery ?
Serving cold food that we expect to be at least warm ????
Fantastic independent REAL Bakery. You can taste the love they bake into each decadent treat, proper pie, and rustic sourdough.
Prices are more than fair, and service always very helpful & friendly.
GO. And go early to ensure they're not sold out.

What a fabulous place for breakfast. I first went by myself and had the peanut butter on bagel which was out of this world. I then went back with my husband and I had the porridge which was just beyond anything I’ve ever eaten. Then my husband had the sausage and bacon sandwich which I had a cheeky taste of. They source locally which you can tell in the quality. The food is a clear 10/10 the atmosphere is relaxed and warm and then the staff are so lovely it’s just tops the whole thing off. A must try for sure.

I’ve visited this bakery a few times and the food has always been so fresh and yummy. Recently I ordered a buffet for a party and the food was excellent. There was a huge variety of sandwich fillings and savoury options, catering for our veggie and vegan guests too. Also the most delicious and fluffiest cupcakes ever! Thank you

While visiting tesco I was glad to see a greggs in there. The staff were friendly enough on the first visit . The 2nd visit maybe I should have mentioned I was taking pictures for google ( as you can see the staff's faces wasn't impressed) . Every item looked well stocked and fresh. They was out of cheese and onion pasties at the time. The pizzas looked real fresh and tasty. Cold sandwiches and hot on offer . Seemed reasonably priced. The area was obviously fresh and clean with it being new.

I did actually understand the staff were extremely busy & when they said wouldn't be a minute I also understand, but to be spoken to in a very nasty tone when I asked who was serving me because I did not hear who had said it was disgusting. Yes your busy but there is no need to speak to people like that, extremely upset especially has my daughter was with me so couldn't give what for , note to staff , some people are deaf & if you are not to speak loud or even look at the person it can be difficult to know who's saying what

By far one of the worst Greggs I’ve ever been to. No fresh sliced bread ready for the morning breakfast buns. No sausage rolls, and not even got any in oven. cold pasty’s. Half the drinks missing not stocked up, never any sandwiches apart from slim choice. The only nice member of staff was the young lad serving this morning. Honestly embarrassing having the store run like this.
Great local and family run bakery. They offer everything you need…fresh bread, pastries, pies, cakes, buns! The works. They even prepare fresh hot and cold sandwiches, salads and breakfasts! What’s not to love. If you’re local to Failsworth I’m sure this place is a staple in your weekly shop. I am still yet to grab some sourdough as it seems to be their most popular bake! I definitely recommend their Lancashire Pasty.

Nice BLT on toast, light toasted bread and lots of salad. Only thing not giving 5 was probably 1 more rasher of that Bacon as it was nice not over cooked and I suspect cooked fresh but if it was warmed up it hadn’t turned to boot leather like bacon tends to do! £3 was a fair price point I’d of paid more for more bacon but enjoyed the butty none the less. Thank you, will return.

Trove is Manchester’s treasure of baked items and coffee. The sourdough bread is exceptional. Today we visited the Norther quarter coffee shop. We tried the Kim cheese grilled sandwich accompanied by Chef Holly’s new hot sauce concoction. Rhubarb, ginger, beetroot, black pepper was the best sauce I have ever had. You have to come in and try these folks, it’s on another level. Guy huge thanks for the suggestion, we would never have tried this without his suggestion. So if you want great food, coffee and exceptional service, don’t think twice… head to Trove in the Northern Quartet!! Massive thanks to Guy and the super talented Holly!
Given the baffling lack of bakeries on this side of town; anywhere selling fresh bread would be a benefit. That the sourdough they bake is truly excellent makes this place a real gem, and along with great bread, they’re cool people who care about what they do. Couldn’t recommend it enough

Absolutely delicious
Good selection during lockdown of hot foods, pies are tasty and im not a pie a lover but even i enjoy a pie from here. They allow 2 people per entry during lockdown to protect customers which is appreciated in such cosy space.
The trifle is old school with cake bits in the jelly but get it early because it goes quickly! The bavarian slices are so good I always get one when I visit. Don't discount the desserts or soups here, they are tasty! The giant sausage roll will please anyone

I had a family treat box delivered to my mum as a surprise for dessert for a special occasion. It was delicious. There was more than enough for the 3 of us. Lots of choice and something for all of us. I wouldn't hesitate to use.
Sweet Genius again
Staff are very rude to customers, yes whilst people are trying to abide by the rules, they are chatting to customers already in the store as though everything is normal, however they are forcing older customers to wait outside for very long periods of time (abiding the rules of the number of customers in the store) but staff having no clue or any sort of awareness at how big their own queue is?!
Also I heard a member of staff in the store shouting at an older person who was trying to help his wife, like he was a little boy in a school playground.
Greggs nearby have better awareness and even Poundbakery for that matter! Disgusting.
If this is how you treat your customers who pay your wages buying your products, you will lose customers fast! Sort it out!

I've been here 3 times since working at a job nearby in the last couple of weeks. Twice I have had things missed out of my order. For example, today I went in was served by Mary, I got two orders, one was a ham and cheese baguette, a bottle of water and a vanilla slice. The other was a ham and cheese baguette, a sausage bean and cheese pasty, an oasis and a 4 pack of cookies. I asked for both baguetted to be warmed which rather than doing them whilst sorting rest of my order, I had to ask a third time once Mary had sorted the rest of my items. I had to ask for a sausage bean and cheese melt twice. I waited for 5 minutes after paying for my food for the teo sandwiches to be sorted, both of which were given to me in the normal plastic wrappers rather than in the paper they are supposed to come in after being warmed. I left the shop and returned to the job where I found the £2.25 I paid for the cookies was a wasted effort because they were nowhere to be seen. To top it all off I wasn't given a reciept so I can't go back and get my cookies. Whether this Mary was a new member of staff or just stupid I have no idea but it's fully put me off Greggs. Won't be going again.

I can’t explain how happy I am that Trove has opened in Ancoats where I work and live. I come here almost every day ( I know, I think I have an addiction for choux bun and éclair) and the staff is always so nice and welcoming: I feel at home!♥️
This place has everything I love:
- Scandinavian decor
- Main meals packed with dill
- Choux buns that are so light and full of filling that will make you feel in Paris if you close your eyes.
- Focaccia ( I am Italian, my heart melted when I saw it on your counter)
-They have POLENTA in one of the breakfasts ( if your are from north of Italy, or you have ever been you know what I am talking about)
- Soup of the day: forget boring, bland, watery soups. They are packed with flavour and you can even choose what kind of bread you want on the side.
-Asian flavours: Ok, the atmosphere is absolutely hygga and Scandinavian BUT they have two amazing asian options on the menu: Moroccan sausage and a bowl with kimchi and other delicious things
-Vegan options: I am not vegan but lots of my friends are and coming here means all of us can be extremely happy and satisfied with the food. ( I tried the vegan dessert, they are great but because my addiction to choux I will stick with them).

Thanks Trove, see you tomorrow!
Best meat pie around. A real treat.
SCOTCH PIE

TO CONSIDER THIS MUSH AS A SCOTCH PIE IS A DISGRACE, SOME ONE HAS NEVER BEEN NORTH OF THE BORDER , DISGUSTING BETTER ONES FROM MORRISONS
