Great food and a view over the river.
Need to book to get the table by the window.
Hope to be back in summer so can use their outside space.

Great find, a good range of drinks and food, including some fabulous homemade cakes, which were just delicious. Returning to try a brunch as they looked plentiful and tasty!

Fantastic food served by very friendly staff in a beautiful setting. You can sit out on large picnic benches or inside an old stable. Serves a variety of hot and cold drinks, snacks and larger lunch meals. They also have a children's menu.

Dropped into this charming cafe whilst attending an event at Mount Edgcumbe. The service was exemplary, the warm welcoming staff a credit to the establishment. The burger was lovely and the coffee delicious.

Brilliant place to get a bite to eat.

Sitting outside in the sun with dogs around was really nice. A few of them got pup cups which is sweet to see.

It’s very dog friendly which I like.

All in all, great to get a bite while exploring the area.

The food is also incredibly delicious.

One star taken as we asked for something to be removed but was not. Meaning we had to pick away at the food. Not removing food as requested can cause issues when having dietary restrictions due to allergies for example. It seemed the woman taking the order has enough of the day.

Other than that. Nothing to complain about 😊

For a small village cafe, this place ticks all the boxes.

I started going here a couple of years back, just after lock down. I found an amazing array of cakes and delicious cafe food. I believe that most of what is on offer is home made. The cakes are always different and always amazing. Some of the best cheesecake I've tasted has been here.

The staff are always friendly and helpful. Even if it is really hectic and busy, which it can get. It is very popular.

The views over the river are lovely and in nice weather there is outside seating to enjoy too. Inside you have nice views and loads of local crafts and arty things you can buy as well. It just feels really welcoming. I have spent a fair bit of time sat there "working" on my laptop whilst enjoying a hot drink and some good grub.

It is even dog friendly. So you can take your furry friend along to enjoy the atmosphere too.

I would recommend this place any time. It even has better opening hours than a lot of places in Torpoint.

Well done Hearts.

Recent update -

Had their chicken club sandwich recently. It was delicious. All the ingredients were lovely and fresh and it came with some nice chips.
Finally got to play this beautiful course and was well worth the wait. Challenging, with small, well maintained greens, stunning views and friendly, helpful staff.
Great course, amazing views on front 9. All members of staff happy to help to make your round as pleasant as possible will definitely be back to play this little gem
What a cracking day out with friends. Course was great and expertly maintained. Views are absolutely stunning. Staff are all incredibly friendly. Lovely bar and great facilities.
Played here while on holiday in the area.
Views were incredible, course was in great condition, staff and members were friendly and welcoming.
What a gem.

Highly recommend. Great place to work. Dog friendly.
Lovely surroundings. The Farriers is set in Mount Edgcumbe Country park.
Food delicious and well presented
What a lovely welcome, and group of people! Their newish clubhouse is small, but very welcoming, and lovely views over Portwrinkle beach and the sea, as far as the Edistone lighthouse.
The golf course is challenging, and demanding, but fair if you are straightest, and plenty of places to lose your ball if not.
I will be going back!
Great Links course. Super staff at cute little bar and balcony

Absolutely fantastic atmosphere at this little cafe. They tweaked my order to suit my dietary needs, they are very dog friendly and the food was delicious. Friendly helpful staff in a gorgeous setting. A must if you're visiting Mount Edgecombe. 😊
Picturesque place, fun and challenging golf course, just what you want when planning a golf trip. Friendly staff and welcoming members. Definitely will visit again very soon. Bonus, very cheap to play in their open events.

We went here for some small bites with the dog. Ordered him a meal as well as it looked really nice, it was quite pricey, but it was a one off. After waiting for 45 minutes and asking multiple times where his food was, we got this rock solid, disgusting treat that my dog did not even look at. Way to overpriced and they clearly do not care about their customers experience, do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

Delicious Millionaire's brownies from Hearts Kitchen were brought over to the crew of Cornwall Air Ambulance whilst we were attending a patient in the area. Being connoisseurs of the brownie we unanimously voted these the best we've ever had. If you're in the area pop into the cafe and try one for yourself, you definitely won't regret it.
Thanks to the team at HK!

After a spectacular, and chilly, walk to Cawsand and back via Mount Edgcumbe Country Park we popped into The Farriers for some refreshments.

The young staff team were a delight. Very welcoming. The Farriers menu is tradional with some innovative bakes (if you are not worried about calories 😎)

Our lunch (soup of the day and cheesy chips) was served quickly, delicious and piping hot. Prices were reasonable.

Definately worth a look if you are planning a visit to Mount Edgcumbe.

For families there is also a childrens space, cosy corner. Plus some larger tables which can accomodate groups.

We sat inside as it was cold. There is plenty of outside seating. They are dog friendly too!

It can get busy so l recommend you book a table if you are planning to eat inside.

*Update July 2024

This has quickly become one of our favourite spots to get out for a drive and a bit to eat. If we have been lazy and its gotten late, it may just be a tea and cake. If we have made plans we will fit in a lovely lunch.

The staff are always amazing and seem unphased by how busy they get. You hear them chatting and helping each other out and it seems like a nice place to be part of a team. You can tell some of them are young and it may be their first jobs but they all deliver a great customer experience and seem happy to be at work. You can chat to them, they have a laugh and will go out their way to help if they can. This is lovely to see nowadays and just adds to the atmosphere in an already lovely setting.

I have told so many people about the burger here and having had one, they have all agreed how good it is. The cakes are always different and always amazing.

Well done The Farriers, long may you continue.

An impromptu visit and a brilliant one. Best burger I have had in ages.

After a long walk around the grounds of Edgcombe with everything starting to look very summery, I was very peckish.

I ordered the burger and chips with a milkshake and it was honestly one of the nicest lunches out I've had in ages. The burger itself came with spicy mayo and salsa and I added bacon and cheese.

The burger itself was a proper thick beef burger that seemed like it could have been homemade or at least from good source. It was just juicy mince and seasoning it seemed. The mayo I thought at much was a applied a bit heavy but in fact worked well with a few drops to but a chip or too in. The salsa I imagined to like KFC spicy tomato sauce but was in fact fresh finely diced tomato and salad salsa properly made. I am not a fan of tomato and my first instinct was to scoop this out. But it was presented to well I thought it give it a go. It was all great. Even the bacon and cheese was properly nice thick bacon and mature tasty cheese. It was the sort of burger where everything worked together to make it delicious. It seemed put together by a proper foodie.

The milkshake was nice and the chips were lovely and crisp and fluffy. The service was quick as well.

Very pleased with my lunch.

Visited Hearts Kitchen (1a Fore St.,Torpoint, Cornwall) on Sat (reserved table as usually quite busy). Chose Red Thai sweet potato soup, served with large piece of baguette & croûtons. Soup had a cheeky spicey kick to it with a great "hearty" texture. Had generous slice of lemon drizzle cake & pot of tea, glorious. Views of river Tamar superb. Staff are welcoming & toilets well maintained. This gem of a place has both indoor & outdoor seating. Not suitable for wheelchairs due to stair access to toilet. Takeaways & gift vouchers also available, as are gift ideas displayed around venue. Nearby street parking usually available. Highly recommend.
Fab views good course friendly staff and members, awesome vistas

Beautiful setting in a courtyard. Great coffee and a well earned bacon and egg bap after a long walk through the grounds. Highly recommended.
Whitsand bay golf club is well worth a visit. The course is challenging but stunning as well. Amazing scenery. The staff are very welcoming. And has lovely clubhouse with great atmosphere. Will go again soon.
Club house is small and easily missed as the satnav postcode takes you past the gate. The course is varied and has some great holes on the front 9 along the cliff top with stunning views. The back 9 is a little more inland and I was grateful as I was now running short on balls thanks to a stiff breeze and those cliffs!
Good approaches are needed to score well as many of the greens are small and oddly square.
Definitely worth a visit here but bring spare balls, and I suggest your camera too!

Fantastic and very clean place. Adorable staff, nice and kind but need some experience or teaching. Staff experience can be better. Keep it up. Btw.... good prices worth visit if you are in Plymouth. Cheap boat trip available all day round. Check web site.

Terrible. Just avoid. I waited 1hr 20mins for a burnt toastie. Kids meals never arrived. Joss Etty, who took the order, was arogant and dismissive. No manager or 'boss' present - nor a licence holder for the alcohol being served. Multiple breaches of basic hygine.

Hugely disappointing.
Family of 4, thought we’d nip in for lunch based on the great website - vegan menu, freshly cooked food etc
We turned up and if was freezing ( the heating wasn’t on).
We were given a menu and I enquires about the vegan menu - only to be looked at blankly. (Turns out the only vegan offering was a piece of cake)
The young girls manning the cafe weren’t interested in being there - lots of texting behind the counter.
We ordered a pot of mint tea for two - earl grey turned up and the kids toasties arrived untoasted and on the wrong bread - I clearly said brown and toasted.
They came back toasted but one on brown and one on white. (Rather than both brown)
Not once was an apology made or inferred.
My wife’s flatbread with Mediterranean veg poor - the aubergine was undercooked with the bread rock solid.
All round dissatisfied, Shame as it’s a great place to visit but we’ll be packing sandwiches.

Discovered this "Cafe" completely by accident and at the point I almost about to expire due to walking most of the day along the coast. I think the term "Cafe" completely misrepresents how excellent the food is here, I think restaurant would be more accurate, it was delicious. I had great burger, all of our party was very happy and well fed. My wife liked her curry so much that she took the attached picture. We will be back :-)

I have only ever had coffee at The Stables Cafe so can't say anything about the food. The coffee is good. The cappuccino is better than the flat white. On my last visit I was alone, it was just after 2pm on a lovely sunny day so had possibly been a busy lunch service. No customers were at the counter two staff members were maning the station. I approached but neither acknowledged me. I felt as if they didn't want to make eye contact in case I stopped them going about their duties. I was stood there for a minute or so. A simple "l will be with you in a moment" would have removed all the awkwardness from the situation. Once they had completed their task they couldn't have been more pleasant and the service from there was great, very friendly.
