I was expecting more, guided by the reviews. For instance, I expected a big burger with everything including cheese, bacon, and the typical sauces, but that wasn't the case. The burger was small and the "good stuff" was basically an add-on. The only thing truly good was the meat, but only because it was thick and real, not precisely because it had an excellent taste.
I had a lettuce wrap burger, cooked perfectly medium rare, with avocado, and it was delicious! The fries weren't bad either. The place was extremely busy on a Friday evening, but the staff knocked it out of the park. Great job!

This place is excellent! They were super busy when we went on a Sunday night but the staff did a great job! James was our waiter and he was genuinely friendly and kept us up to date on our orders and made sure we had everything we needed to have a great meal. I highly recommend this place for any meal or occasion.
Always love Betty’s, currently doing the keto diet but they make a lettuce wrap hamburger that’s juicy and flavorful. They also make great milkshakes (2 for one everyday!) My usual was the Texas Two Step ( battered onion rings, bacon, so good, but can be very juicy so make sure to get extra napkins!
I dont know where to begin. The service was absolutely horrible from the start to the end. I came in with my girlfriend and from the start we weren’t even acknowledged by the girl in the front. Then a nice lady came down immediately to sit us down, from there we waited a bit for a waiter to come. The waitress shows up and had no idea about the menu, which was fine I can understand that. However she completely ignored us and avoided our table at all cost… she was super quiet and uncomfortable to work with when taking our order. The food took fooorrrreeevveerrr to come out and the crab sandwich was disgusting and had little crab meat. My girlfriend hated it and ended up eating my clam chowder which was the only good thing. I wouldn’t recommend anything else. The sad part is there was an older couple next to us that waited soooo long for a waiter and they were seated before us. They even made a joke to the person saying they called over a waiter if he was kidding because the service here is so HORRIBLE! Food was bad, service was awful, prices were decent.
I stopped at Jack-in-the-Box cause I’ve for the most part part always had good experiences with Jack-in-the-Box. I enjoy their food their service in the restaurants. On this day however, it was not the case. I wasn’t feeling well and I needed to use the restroom and Jack-in-the-Box is always had a open door policy with the restroom until I got to this one when they told me I couldn’t use the restroom unless I bought something first, so I’ve had to go wait in line to buy a taco so that they would open the door for me so that I could go use the facilities. It was embarrassing demeaning and as far as I’m concerned, unprofessional on their part. But after that, you would think they must have a pretty stellar looking bathroom if they were keeping everybody out of it that isn’t a customer, and that wasn’t the case either it is dirty not horribly dirty but definitely not clean. I had to take toilet paper and clean the seat off just so I could use the toilet. There was a sign in the bathroom that said it was cleaned hourly. However, the dried up urine and whatever else was on there kind of makes me think maybe they’re not really getting into it every hour, or at the very least not doing a good job. I work in field service so I was out of town and couldn’t go home to use my own restroom or I would’ve.

Awesome food!! I was so stoked when I saw my favourite fish on the menu, Snapper, and prepared the way I love it too, grilled. So cool to eat on the pier, listening to the Sea Lions. The staff was friendly. The service was excellent. Very open feeling restaurant, good lighting. I really enjoyed my dinner here.
Although your cuisine is excellent, it bothers me that your manager treats your staff badly, hates delivery workers, and won't sell to some customers. She can select who she sells to and who she doesn't, she says in response to questions about why she does it. He instructs the youths under his supervision not to give directives or instructions to the immigrants.
Sadly, it's the only location where you can get meals delivered around-the-clock.

Hardest working night shift fast food workers on the planet. Food is standard Jack but the service is what pops. I've had the pleasure of working with them for deliveries through gig jobs and they are by far the best. They honestly care about the product they produce and it shows. If your in the area be sure to check them out. Be careful on weekend nights as the lines are often spilling into the street.
The staff were polite and nice and the food was great, but I expected more from their service; It took around 10 minutes for someone to bring us water and another 5 for someone to come and take our order.

1/1/24 @ 515am the lady working the drive through. She can take an order correctly and takes the initiative to suggestion a substitution even though your getting two drinks. Very pleasing to get a correct ordered order..
Had such a great time with amazing company and friends... The seafood was top class, great service and the view over the Pacific ocean was just what we needed to round the evening off...
My first experience with Betty's Burgers was fantastic, and it certainly won't be my last. The burger was cooked to perfection, with grilled onions and Betty's secret sauce stealing the show! I also ordered some chili peppers and fries, and to top it off, they added a fried egg for the ultimate flavor explosion! 🍔🍟🍳
My son, me, my granddaughter and her daughter went to get some food, since we didn't stop to get anything on our way down to Santa Cruz. My sister-in-law was with us too. We took the food to our rental house and had a good meal!
A fun place to grab some tasty diner food serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a comfortable and eclectic setting. Some Asian dishes were offered throughout the menu which was a nice touch. Staff was welcoming and friendly and knew many of their regulars by name having been at the same location for over 20 years. The food was comforting and the portions were very generous.

The best fish tacos with grilled fish, shredded cabbage, tomatoes, fresh cilantro, and lime juice. We ordered "to go" to eat it while enjoying the view of the Pacific Ocean. It was a little waiting time, but it was well worthwhile with the final result.
Excellent local restaurant with great food. They put a lot of effort into the menu and it's one of our regular places now.
We grabbed some popular items and sat outside to enjoy the fresh air and great ocean views. The food is plenty! Highly recommend the fish tacos! I don’t know what fish they use for the fish and chips, but it’s kinda plain compared to the salmon fish and chips we normally get in Vancouver. The sea food chowder is definitely creamier and heavier American version compared to their northern neighbour’s. Sourdough is always good in this area. Still good enough to make us happy for our choices.
This place disappoints! The view is the only thing nice and you can get that at any of the venues here. I have many things that get me to a one star ⭐️. I will only tell you a few. First the service was not desirable. It must’ve taken us 20 minutes to get a check and we had to get up and ask for it. We had to ask for the basket of complimentary bread, the other tables got their’s at the same time. We ordered a dish with a modification because of an allergy, that item was still present in the dish. To make it worse the rice was undercooked and crunchy with every bite. Really the whole plate inedible. The Cioppino was very disappointing with very little crab, dried out scallops and mussel and clam shells empty. I did look in the broth. I had two mussels and one clam but many shells. Don’t buy it, look through my other reviews for better cioppino. The mahi-mahi was dry as well as the other fish dish. There were a few other things I’d would’ve liked to see go the other way but really what I am saying is don’t go here, even if the locals say it’s the best place! I read other reviews after going here wish I would have looked before :( people aren’t happy lately
The place was a cool vibe and the food was 7/10 the thing that upset me was the fact that the restaurant was charged a additional service charge. I asked about that and they said it was from COVID and none of that money goes to the workers. Very nice people and great hospitality. I got 1 clam chowder bowl, 1 kids chicken big meal, 1 Chicken plate, 1 order of Mozzarella sticks and 1 cheeseburger for a total of 60 dollars approximately. Value wise not the best but I loved the vibe gave me 50 first dates vibes.
Nice place, food was fresh and tasty. My husband and I ordered see shells, garlic bread, I have Mahi mahi grilled and he had Philly cheese sandwich and it was good and not greasy. Service was good 😊 Also the wine specially the bottles were reasonable price which allowed me to give a minimum of 4 starts
My friend and I had lunch. The best BLT and fries I’ve had in a long time. Ambiance is light and relaxed. Service was great! Definitely going back!
Food - the food was good, we started with the Calamari, it was good, it's missing a kick for me personally a little more flavor and it's there but still ate the plate. The wife had the Surf and Turf Tacos. Those were on point. The sauce is spicy and definitely has a kick to it. Finally, I had the Prawns and Snapper Florentine the meal had good flavor, both shrimp and Snapper were cooked very well, the sauce was a good addition too. Overall when in the area I would come here again. It was rated 2023 best new restaurant.
It was a good experience, straight diner, lots of locals and students. I was glad to see pho on the menu but as The Ant pointed out it wasnt a good idea and they were right because I was getting ready to ask if it had tendon. Silly. I went for a vegetarian scramble which came with a side of pancakes (I got blue berry, other options were banana and chocolate chip) and The Ant got waffles with strawberry and whipped cream. Reportedly the whipped cream wasn't that great but the waffles and strawberries were. The pancakes were ok and in response The Ant pointed out that's why they got the waffle, that pancakes are always a better idea than a reality -- the hot dog of diner breakfasts. The scramble was excellent though, with artichokes and avocados with Monterey Jack cheese, and excellent potatoes and grilled onions. The server was very friendly and funny and the diner had a perfect diner atmosphere with lots of signs and photos of a Guy Fieri visit. It was a good place for breakfast

I order a bacon cheeseburger and they forgot to add bacon. And the whole burger itself was falling apart while eating it although it was wrapped tightly. Drink

Younger Staff are great and friendly, the food is good also.
It's just the owner who sits behind the cashier doesn't seem to be the nicest person to ask for a window bench even though there were some spots few available. That was the only thing we noticed from our experience.

Not really friendly. Doors were closed/locked because there was not enough staff. You have to order online but nobody helped me to get in. Stuff also jumped over the counter and didn‘t washed their hands After.
First off our server Camila was fantastic! We rode our bikes out to the wharf and hoped for a seat. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait. We ended up taking the strange bar seats facing the sidewalk but it was perfect. You can watch the people go by while you wait. Our server brought our drinks right away and our food quickly followed. The calamari with fries was the best! Hubby had the clam strips, which he loved. All around a great experience and highly recommend.
This is by far the absolute best place I have eaten in years! The food amazing!!! The price beyond reasonable. The service... I can't even. We had a crying baby and they went above and beyond, brought over a toy for her to play with and some crackers for her to snack on. Which did the trick. Consistently stayed on top of dishes and filling beverages! I can't wait to come back tomorrow!
One of a kind vibe here. From the food, service and atmosphere. Feels like you’re a hole in the wall restaurant in Italy and the food reinforces that not to mention all the inspirational crafts on the wall. The great service ties it all together. Highly recommend.

A nice classy place with great food and awesome drinks!
I absolutely loved the food and service, and the atmosphere is quite nice. The food was flavorful, and our waiter was so fun and kind and attentive. I didn't catch his name, but he was great. He brought me his recommended choice of wine, which was delicious. The dessert: I was pleasantly surprised. A larger amount of dessert, which I did not expect (amazing surprise), and that was so yummy and beautifully plated. I look forward to returning again soon! Added to my favorites for Santa Cruz.
One of the best Five Guys locations I've been too! I walked in when it wasn't super busy. The staff and service were great!! Super friendly guys. I LOVED my burger too. Perfectly cooked and honestly just super good. I think what makes a chain restaurant stand out above others is their service, and this place really killed it. Would go back next time I'm craving a burger!
Amazing. The best food we have had on our US road trip so far and this was our third week. Truly fantastic and a little hidden gem. Service was fantastic and friendly and the food....just wow....the sirloin seasoned steak I had was cooked to perfection and the sides with it complimented it brilliantly. If you want good food and decently priced and in Santa Cruz, this is the place to go. 5*

I was SOOOO late to pick up my order- but no fear! the great staff waited until I got there to fire up the fries and make the shake. ALL of it was DELICIOUS! THANK YOU!
Food was great. I had chicken. My mom had fish tacos and my brother had ceviche and the non-alcoholic drinks were great to. They are pet friendly, and very easy to find my mom also mentioned that the bathrooms are really clean which she likes overall our server, she was very spunky, and she was great, willing to work with us especially for my mom because she can’t eat too much food with salt. Great experience would highly recommend this place.
I came for only cajun fries because I love them. When I got here they ignored me for probably over 10 minutes before even saying something to me and then finally after a few more minutes they took my order. I got only fries, so after waiting for 15 minutes and hearing order numbers after me called I asked about my fries. They had lost my order and made me wait 5 more minutes to even get my order. It took over 20 minutes to get my only fries. They forgot about me and my order as they prepared multiple large orders of burgers for people after me. Then as I was waiting for my order to finally get to me I watched it happen to another person who ordered solo fries. Don’t come unless you want to spend an hour of your life here and fight for your order ti be made.
The food was amazing, fast exactly as I wanted, enjoy every bite. The Service first class was very nice, professional, and beautiful. The atmosphere was like a trip to the past, with a lot of antiques, and excellent reminders from the all-good times. Love the place really, hope I can return soon!.
Very good about allergies. Our waitress was very kind and helpful. Loved the food, got the garlic butter shrimp pasta.
The chicken fettuccine Alfredo was really good. It’s a very big portion. The salad was just ok. The Shirley Temple was yummy. Took me back to my childhood. There are bathrooms for customers that you’ll need a code. Service was pretty quick.
Our waiter was on it! He was an older Hispanic man, and we really appreciated his attentiveness. As we were sitting & eating, we saw him cleaning windows and he even went outside and picked up trash. You could just tell what a good worker he is. Overall, the service was great. The food, however, was not. I ordered the #1, and the hashbrowns had no flavor. I added some salt, and that helped a little, but I ended up just not eating them. The bacon was all fat, which I guess some people would enjoy, but I didn't. Our son ordered the Mexican Skillet, and he was disappointed. He also said it was bland, just not any flavor. The hot chocolate was good. I do like the general atmosphere. They could use some touching up to their signs outside. I appreciate that they were open early in the morning when most other places were closed. I also appreciate their menu options.
Outstanding place for seafood! I ordered the clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl and a peach on the beach Martini. My family and I enjoyed what we all ordered. sourdough dinner rolls are a must here! Highly recommend this seafood establishment. Great area and what better way to eat seafood than on the wharf looking out onto the shores of Santa Cruz.
Had a great dinner at the Water Street Grill the other day. I'm a pretty tough critic regarding restaurants and food. So here goes. I will start with my only gripe and get that out of the way. Though I realize real estate is a high commodity in Santa Cruz County, it was definitely a tight fit in there. But for a mostly full house and close tables it was quiet and quaint.
The food:
For starters we went to our staple appetizer of Calamari which was cooked well and not too heavy on the batter with an abundent amount of tentacles.
My boyfriend had the Filet and Lobster Tails. Both delicious and cooked to perfection with some great asparagus and mashed potatoes.
I had the Skirt Steak with bleu cheese butter and double broccoli which was also absolutely delicious.
We topped it off with the Killer Choclate Cake which was decent. And the bread pudding which was good but the whiskey sauce was a little overpowering.
All in all a decent bite and we will definitely return. I'd suggest reservations as again the footprint is rather small.

Stopped by after spending the morning at the boardwalk, the walk isn’t to long from there. This is my second time eating here and the clam chowder was very good and so was the calamari sides. Big portions for a teenager so definitely be cautious of that when ordering. Staff were super friendly and there wasn’t that super long wait and you can request seating (we did window side). It’s a very nice view, you can see the seals and all the birds.
This staff was rude. The manager was acting like a gangster. I asked about if he could add the spices on the side. He was getting closer to me telling me why didn’t you tell in the beginning. I was deeply harassed I felt like he was going to assault me physically :( I kept quiet and threw the food in the trash as my body was shaking and couldn’t feel to eat anything. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE. This place is not women friendly plus you will be HIGHLY disappointed.

My husband and I went to this lovely establishment for the first time tonight for our weekly date night. And Holy Moses do we feel dumb for not having come here before.
We got reservations online via the website/open table for 6:30pm. We were PROMPTLY greeted and seated by 2 very lovely women. Waters with lemon came out before I could even situate my purse.
Dina our server (who may or may not be an angel in our midst), was just the absolute sweetest, personable, and attentive server, took our drink orders quickly and had them out in a flash.
We shamefully told her it was our first time there and she brought out delicious potato croquets with homemade BBQ sauce on the house. That sauce... It should be bottled.
We ordered the calamari appetizer as that's our typical go to barometer for a new to us restaurant and they delivered. Beautifully cooked with lite breading, tentacles which we love, and a never before seen (to us) addition of thinly sliced mini bell peppers that were also breaded. Y'all. The addition of these peppers... Adds a perfect blend of sweetness and acidity. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to enjoy calamari without it.
I ordered the skirt steak (rare) with blue cheese butter, mashed potatoes and broccoli. This dish. The broccoli ALONE I would order a gigantic plate of. It's cooked perfectly and seasoned to the gods. 🤤 My steak, was gorgeously seared, spiced, and almost still mooing just like I like it. Mashed potatoes were smooth and buttery. The blue cheese butter - good lawd. I want to put that on everything!
My husband ordered the Bourbon Chicken and Shrimp with potatoes. It came out on a sizzling platter but without the annoying fan fare of what you'd expect from a fajita sizzling platter. Shrimp was plentiful and cooked just right. The chicken was delicious as well as the potatoes. He cleaned his plate and wished he had more.
All in all, we were there for just under an hour due to us taking our time savoring the food. After 2 entrees, a glass of wine, a beer, and an appetizer total came to $99 before tip. Honestly - absolutely worth it.
We'll definitely be back many many times!

We visited on a Sunday night, and had reservations. We were seated immediately. We had the Grilled Salmon, the Chicken Piccata, and the Chicken Alfredo. Everything was delicious and the service was perfect. I give all the credit to Shelley ! She treated us like family ! The icing on the cake was that I mentioned that we had been camping and I sure could use another scoop of mashed potatoes, joking. She brought out another scoop for me. I was so excited, the potatoes were simply scrumptious. It had the perfect amount creaminess and ground pepper. I would definitely recommend. My only slight disappointment was my Salmon was slightly over cooked. Not very juicy, but on the dry side. It was still good. The pasta dishes were excellent.
We went again two days later and everything was still 5 stars. We all got new dishes; Fish and Chips, Caesar Salad, and my son devoured this huge Cowboy Burger. Shelley again, made it special. She even asked for our table and opened the door for us. A second generation of kids now want to visit. Thank you Shelley, until next time ; )

Really nice stop near the broadwalk for food. Family really enjoyed the food. It’s not bad price wise considering you’re on the wharf and have an awesome view.
Service was exceptional.
There’s a happy hour pricing in the afternoons for drinks which actually were priced very well, I particularly liked that there were some very good local beers.

Went to have some dinner and drinks with some friends and we were all very pleased with everything! We all had delicious dinner entrees(forgot to capture a picture) with a great presentation. We also treated ourselves to some dessert which was their daily special chocolate chip cheesecake and their cookie skillet. Everything was amazing and we will definitely be coming back more frequently!
Recipe for success: Have a cocktail while seated at the bar nearest the kitchen. Watch the plates come out and ask when you see one that looks good. Order a daring appetizer, like sweetbreads, and continue watching the plates coming out. Order your dinner and your next drink, but now watch the desserts. By the time you’re don’t with dinner, you’ll. Have your dessert selected. #winning
The staff were great and very friendly and the food tasted amazing! Definitely worth the money and we will definitely be coming back.
Overall, great food for a nice dinner/special occasion. Our server was nice, and encouraged the cucumber-lime cocktail, which was uniquely cool!
My steak was cooked perfectly, as was my date’s duck entree, no complaints there — but the potato purée with my steak had the texture of being made hours earlier in the day, though, and the strange broccoli trees were borderline undercooked.

It was Saturday night and busy but luckily we got a table right away. Nice atmosphere and good service. While we were waiting for our meal we were given some baguette slices and butter, lovely. I had the burger and fries and substituted the blue cheese for cheddar. It was as good a burger as I’ve eaten.
Gave me one of my orders wrong from jacks munchie meal I ordered the spicy nacho chicken sandwich and siracha curly fry burger and they gave me i don’t know what this is but the manager has to talk to those people that they have working there tonight between 9pm or 10pm shift
The dinner was delicious, better than I expected. The site is cozy and has good music. My husband and I ate fish and chips, sirloin steak and tiramisu. The prices are reasonable. We’ll be back for sure.
Man I got to say, I have no idea what to think about this place. Every time I come here it’s different. The first time trying this place after it reopened my experience was enjoyable. The food was good! I got the ribs and I absolutely enjoyed it. But my second time back was nothing far from disgusting. I ordered the Alfredo this time, and let’s just say it didn’t play out later that afternoon. Disgusting loaded with cream and flavorless. I don’t know what to think of this place but after that I’m not sure I’ll be back any time soon.
I normally am not a very discerning foodie, but I recently went to another fancy restaurant in the same price range as Oswald and thought the food was phenomenal, so I was excited to try this place out. However, Oswald didn't quite live up to my expectations. The food was fine, but the dishes weren't very flavorful or well composed. The proportions of protein and sides weren't right, and they weren't cooked perfectly either. None of it was bad necessarily, just not what I was expecting for the price range. Also the atmosphere inside was weird. It wasny clear what aesthetic style they were going for with the decorations, and the dining room was very loud. The service was fine though, and the menu is relatively expensive for the price range as well. Overall, it was fine, but it didn't feel like it was necessarily worth the money
You feel the love in the food. The staff are kind and friendly, which adds to the whole experience. I can't wait to see what the chefs cook up next.
Girls day out with my daughters had to end at Betty's. 😊 This place is fun! And the food is excellent. The chili is just a little spicy and well seasoned. The burgers are lean, flavorful and you with fresh ingredients. I also loved the buns which appear house made ..or at least not out of a bag. I stole the pickle out of my daughter's Basic Betty burger and it was a delightful house made fresh pickle! Delicious! The garlic fries have real garlic on top which gives them a spicy bite. We really like spice and strong flavors so these were a hit. Fast and courteous service to top the meal off. We are coming back after our next next beach day. 😊😊😊
Pretty good dinner; there was zero wifi however, the food came fast so it wasent much of an issue. I highly reccomend ANY and all appetizers, especially the Crispy Brussel Sprouts. The Creme Brule was IMPECCABLE and one of the best I've had.
The food is good but can very much be elevated to five star with a bit more effort. The service was lacking a bit. The decorations inside were pretty, especially the glass artwork. I had a Net York steak asked for medium and came well done. The meat quality was excellent.
Calamari was over cooked but that I was told that Mac and cheese was very good.

Mouth watering and Delightful! Owner and head chef Lamo is one hell of a cook, he and Joel "his business partner" compliment each other perfectly! Everything bursts with flavor, The Steaks are cooked to perfection, the house salad is even the best house salad of all house salads lol I can not say enough about how good the food is here at The Point Kitchen & Bar,

I went today around 6 pm I stayed for 15 without no body taking orders one person was focused on online orders and drive thru he didn't say anything to the customers in the lobby my suggestion if you guys struggle to take orders close the lobby and take only orders on drive thru
This is an amazing five guys. The staff here is super helpful and nice. Facilities are very clean. It is great how they let you throw the peanuts on the floor n stuff yah cool.
We were passing through and the family needed breakfast so we stopped here. Not very informative staff - they just want you to get over with the purchase so service was cold. I ended up not ordering anything cos personally their menu is very unhealthy with minimum vegetarian options.
