Good sports bar when everything else is full and dude l. We came here they treated us so good and watched the match we want with budget beer. Overall very happy
If you wanna get abused by security go here. This place is a joke my finance was throwing up in the bathroom because of his IBS and for some reason the security was waiting outside for him? Like um weird? I went go wash my hands in the female bathroom when security grabbed my hoodie and yanked me back which chocked me and hurt my neck. I confronted him with what he done and he denied it all. When I tried to film the abuse he was doing to us he yanked my phone out of my hands and was verbally abusive. Never go here this place is a JOKE FIRE THIS GUY ASAP!

Always a good time here - beer is cheap and cold and service is excellent.
A busy pub with friendly service, quality beer and a happy hour! Outside seating with smoking and non-smoking areas. Well worth a stop.

Stopped into this pub for a night cap on our way back to motel after seeing musical Grease. The security guard at the door would not let us in because he said our partners looked like they have had too much to drink. We said none of us have had anything to drink. He said well they look like it and we’ve had a lot of incidents tonight so my manager won’t be happy if I let yous in. We are a group of two couples in our late 50’s way too old to be causing trouble at pubs. Maybe your security guard should have more training to recognise intoxication. This happened on Saturday night 20/04/24
Not as I remembered it last year. A group of us 3 to 5 people have an annual get-together and head to the casino to spend some money and have a few drinks. This is only for a couple of hours and win or loose. We always walk away happy.
On this occasion, it was very different. We walked into the security checks as per normal procedure for casino's. Both the Polynesian men at the counter psychologically interrogated us on how many drinks we had and at what time. We had 4 beers at a pub with dinner over 3 hours! It was a bit much, kind of a carry on tbh. They then sent a security personal with us to escort us to the bar where we had to ask for water before ordering an alcoholic beverage, which is such an abuse of power.
We all own businesses and understand how it works, but the rudness and micromanagement of patrons made us feel very uncomfortable. We ordered the waters spent 50 each and got out of there.
I'm happy to say our new annual events won't have anything to do with the casino.
Having said all of the above, the other times we have been there were really good, with escorts to the high rollers. Can be really fun if you have a good experience. All the best 👍

Cheap house wines $12 approx, food is decently priced and good , definitely coke back and recommend. 2-3 level bar. Smoking area outside where you can drink too. Located right next to china town as well 🤩

Great pub located in the mall above paddy’s markets /china town. Great roof top bar to watch the world go by. One of the cheapest places to drink in the cbd, staff are so helpful and the food is also really nice - general pub food, can recommend the scnitty. 3 level pub. Not busy on Sunday lunch time.

What a great spot for a refreshing ale. I’ve chosen the alcohol free beer today and you know what? It’s pretty good!
Smallest steak I have ever seen in a pub meal. Sort of grotty, disappointing atmosphere with questionable types, screens everywhere and cigarette smoke stinking the place out from horrible pokies area out the back.

Probably fine if you like ciggies, a beer and a punt and think Star Casino is pretty special. Pretty grimy and stank of stale smoke
Food, BEER, Service and Atmosphere are always on point. $13.50 for the Palace house Beer jug is perfect for guys who want to drink a bit more! Also the food is recommendable! Give it a try and experience yourself.
Went to this pub with friends yesterday for pre dinner drinks. Two of us ordered drinks that were nearly full of ice and hardly any spirit in them. The young guy barman was approached about this and just shrugged his shoulders and couldn't care less. When your paying big money for these drinks you should be expected to get a decent drink and not basically a glass of ice for your money. Left the pub and never to return.

$13.50 for a palace jug.. great price cannot complain. Nice to sit outside on a sunny day. Never ate but the food portions look big. Have some boards with funny messages on and a quiz on the back of the menu. Great place for an after-work beer
Nice without being spectacular. Very small servings on the lunch specials and large groups are a problem. Probably wouldn't go back.
Booked a table on the mezzanine for a pre-show lunch. The kids and adult lunch special meals were good value and tasty. Very handy for the Capitol theatre. Will be back
This is the iconic star hotel! Heath Ledger fans would know all too well when he was in 1 of his early films Two Hands! An awesome dark comedy based in Sydney in the 90s.
ALWAYS FRIENDLY ! Been here for years in odd occasions. Same security guard some of the same staff. You can tell they are a strong team. Thanks for the service always helpful with ny keno
We found this place almost by chance online and decided to call in. Oh My Goodness, we had the best steak and veg I think we'd ever eaten ! The atmosphere and service were lovely, but the meal, soooo good. The prices were very reasonable too.
I arrived at this store at 9 p.m., which is the usual time I visit. In the past, they've never asked me to show my ID, perhaps because I never order alcoholic beverages. I simply have a fondness for their burgers and fries. However, today, I was unexpectedly asked to present my ID, which I didn't bring with me. I felt very disappointed, as I had traveled a long distance just to dine at this store, but was unable to order due to not having my ID.
Food is soooo good... I had my lunch with friends amd we all agree in one thing, food is great....

Sunday lunch before the theatre. Menu had limited gluten free options, but the options they did have were fantastic and the menu otherwise included a great variety of classic pub food and a good kids menu. Meals came out incredibly fast and were all perfectly done with generous portions. I had the pork belly, definitely a 10/10.
A lively busy place, pleasant staff, however I believe I got food poisoning from the pizza here, been throwing up all night and barely been able to sleep.
28/9/23 Update: after emailing back and forth with the venue manager, I was able to return and get a refund. Seems like they were pleasant, upfront and honest, very respectful values. I may consider drinking here again.

Came here for a pub meal and some beers. Actually the food was quite decent. We sat outside and just people watched. Was great.

My favorite watering hole in this part of Sydney. They make mean cocktails. They have a good selection of wines.

A relaxing experience with an old-time feel. I totally loved the environment with its pressed metal ceilings and generally Art Deco decorations. Got myself a cider, garlic bread and potato wedges and just chilled. Perfect if waiting to see a play at the nearby Capitol Theatre.

Depends on what you need. They're centred around the pokies BUT the rooftop smokers area is as good as you'll get anywhere in the city. Tiger jugs for $14. VB Schooners for $9. So know what you're doing.

Decent service, just stopped for a couple shots. The place didn't seem like it had lot of people in. The guy at the counter was pretty good. The outside seating is something I would prefer. The pokies were mostly occupied coz it was a public holiday I guess. Food is nothing great

I had an amazing Saturday night with friends.
The karaoke night started around 8pmish and I arrived there at 7:30pm to find a good spot for the karaoke night. You can't book a table on Friday and Saturday during the karaoke night.
The lady who ran the karaoke night was lovely and the 3 big screens were big enough to sing together.
The machine was playing up so it stopped a couple of music suddenly and it was random that my name was called for singing.
Good event to mingle with people however if you want to sing properly and don't want to wait for your turn, you need to go to a professional karaoke

I can only speak of my experience of attending club functions here where meals were brought out in alternate fashion and we ate what we were given.
The food was great and definitely done pub style. I can’t comment on the pricing though but the drinks were reasonable and the bar itself was spacious enough to handle a hundred people

$13 Tiger beer jugs. I love the outside beer garden near the Pokies. Friendly Asian staff. Happy Hour 4 - 6 daily $5.50 a beer. Nice ambiance here. All sports shown on big screens.
The place has an old pub charm with dark wood paneling and seating that feels rustic and comforting. The staff were kind and attentive with no issues with ordering. I ordered a rump steak, medium rare with mushroom gravy and the salad. The steak was juicy but would be better classified as medium well. It lacked seasoning and lacked charring for that preferred grilled taste. The gravy was a little too thick and tasted store bought. It overpowered the steak but paired a little better with the fries. The salad was fresh and light which didn't need much help with seasoning as the light dressing was subtle and tangy.
Overall it is a nice place to sit with friends and have a drink and a bite but I'll be trying something different from their menu next time around

The food n drinks are great! The service waiters were friendly and polite to us.
