First time here afters years of walking up and down the Tardebigge locks (well worth a visit). This place has an enviable location with a great view of our Midlands canals. Pricey but great food, I had the veggie roast dinner, which was delicious, as was the roast dinner ordered too by my partner. I'd like to come back and try the rest of the menu to be honest. 👍🌟

Been here a few times now, never had a bad meal. Very good atmosphere. The waiters and waitresses and superb and nothing was too much. Food was VERY tasty and not too badly priced, there is plenly of parking. Finished off with a nice walk along the canal. Highly recommended.
First and last time visiting this pub. Ordered two burgers and a kids meal which included a dessert. Thought it strange that at £12.50 per burger you had to pay an extra £4 for curly fries each meal. But pub looked nice so expected good quality food. Meals came, they were average. Then waited for kids meal dessert (cookie dough and ice cream). Nothing came so asked at the bar and was told it's coming. Nothing came after quite a while so chased again at the bar and was told it's coming. Waited quite a while. Then when kids were passing the bar to use the toilet they were told there was no cookie dough. I then went to the bar and said if I could get a refund mainly for how long we had to wait. Was told some BS that the kids desserts were free so can't do a refund. Was offered just ice cream but that is not what we wanted, not ordered an ancient hour and a half earlier! So we left.

Never again. It's not the money, it's the principle. You pay for food and the service. So bad service should result in a refund especially when there are children waiting! Then selling £12.50 average burgers without fries, where you pay £4 for curly fries is an unnecessary con to get a few extra pounds from customers.

I don't do reviews. Even with the average food and £4 fries, I'd just leave it. But no communication or empathy for someone waiting for dessert for their child, this needs to be shared.

Stunning place, not really a pub though, feels like a very nice restaurant. The outside space is simply amazing.
All the pretty, handsome and very well off frequent this place. The car park is full of expensive vehicles. The prices were fair for beer but £12 for a large glass of white wine is borderline robbery.
The staff were great and do many of them. If the cost of living crisis hasn’t affected you, then this could be your place
Loved it so much. We haven't been here for years so we tried it out again last night. Food was amazing, came quickly and there was loads of it! Will definitely be back soon.

Great place to stop for a drink...we had been for a long walk along tardebigge locks and welcomed a cold drink here before heading back. Lovely area to sit outside and dog friendly. A little overpriced for soft drinks but lovely atmosphere.
First visit tonight, absolutely fantastic food, service was great. We will definitely visit again!

A quick pit stop but we hope to return as The New Inn feels a good un! The restaurant had stopped serving, so we had a Turkey cob and chips next door in the bar. Hope to try the restaurant out as the cob, chips and pint were superb and we had good service from the moment we stepped through the door even though it'd been rammed earlier. Dog friendly is a bonus too 👍

I only ever Pop in briefly between waiting for buses.
Good to see a small business keeping going in the high street.
Good selection of ales at competitive prices.
This business is well worth a visit.
Another great little pub with ale from cask.Love these type of places

Reading a lot of reviews I feel they have the wrong pub. I popped in a month ago and the place was run down and I experienced a lot of racist and aggressive opinions from the clients. Sorry I appreciate it’s difficult to pick and choose on the door when you need to bring in the cash
Our second visit to this great country pub for lunch before doing the canal walk.
They have a great menu and the food is well worth the visit.

Food was cobs, scotch eggs and pork pie. Excellent
No problem with service and quite busy for a Monday
Saddened to badly review a place I’ve loved/frequented for the last 30 years but this evenings service was appalling. New staff/zero experience or understanding of service - having to ask for plates to be removed (twice) and twice met with a challenging/vacuous stare.

The regular, senior mgr (always superb) manages to blend pace with a great quality of service. Unfortunately the other newish staff failed miserably.

Hate to leave this review but I do not want this place to drop.

Photo of food - waiting to be cleared after 15 mins+

Lovely friendly waitress. Food was delicious! Lots of choice. Fish and chips - nice big fish with crispy batter. Blade of beef was tender and the lamb rump was cooked to perfection. An interesting specials board too! Delicious desserts! A win win all round and we will definitely return to work our way down the menu!!

We were going to the theatre next door so chose this for convenience. It was busy but there is no excuse for serving lukewarm, soggy fish and chips and cold mushy peas. We had waited so long for the food to come it was a case of send it back and go hungry or eat some of it. Very disappointed and would not go again.
A must stop, history buff or for a beer and a chow, stop by recommended. Friendly staff & owners. The force is strong with this pub. Thank you for the warmth & welcoming experience guys.
Great friendly place good breakfast buffet. Could do with a second coffee machine.

Just visited for mothers day so they had a two course for £21 fixed price menu. The food was very good - the meat was cooked to perfection, gravy thick and flavourful and a good selection of veg. We didn't have starters but the puddings were very good too, especially the chocolate fudge cake. The servers were all very friendly and professional and they made sure they were accommodating to my vegan friens. I would definitely recommend this place to friends as good standard pub fare at a reasonable price.
Absolutely amazing night at my local. Such a breath of fresh air being able to come into this pub again and be served with a team that can actually smile. The atmosphere was electric. The pub is very clean, warm and inviting. The drinks are served nicely. Was served very quickly by Stacey who was very friendly. Stacey was joined by Jay so staff availability wasn't a concern at all. I cant believe in such a short time how the black has transformed. Can't wait for the kitchen to open in the near future. The new landlords obviously have alot of experience in turning failing businesses around very quickly. Marstons have got it right at last. Putting someone in charge that runs another pub in the area who evidently knows what they are doing. I'm still shocked at the range of stock as the last owner didn't know her a*rse from her ti* and was unfriendly and useless. Well done team! See you Sunday!!

Went for a family birthday meal on Wednesday 21st February.
So so disappointed with the carvery. The food was basically reheated from that lunch time so we were paying for scraps. I thought it very strange at the time that there was very little dauphinoise potatoes all there was was dried up mush, roast beef literally 4 slices left, barely any gravy etc even though we were 1st sitting at 6pm. Always rave about this restaurant however I will not be rushing back in a hurry.

Yet again another good evening out .
Beer and music good . Somewhat quieter than previous visits , but then we all have to tighten our belts in these times .
We didn't eat when we visited this time but we took our children to the soft play. It's a really great play area and very good value. There is a separate area for toddlers which is ideal if you have children of different ages. It looked clean inside and we got a timed entry wristband so it didn't get overcrowded. There are some tables, but one downside is that there isn't a great deal of seating, which is why we didn't get food. The hot drinks are refillable, so a real bargain to get while the little ones play. Can't comment on service except that we got a nice welcome when we arrived.

Great pub, decent prices, right on the High Street.
Went here for a meal.found they had a kids play area that I didn't know about but my daughter who has ADHD didn't have to be told to sit still which she struggles with so while we ordered she went to play in soft play area untill our orders was ready

This was such a nice visit whilst walking with friends. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in, even with 2 Rottis (play date!). It’s a fantastic bar and staff all wanted to say Hi to the dogs! Doggie biscuits on the bar.
We didn’t eat on this occasion but it looked amazing and the restaurant was very full of happy people so looking forward to a return visit to sample the menu.
The outside seating is good too, plenty of it and some under cover. Dog water bowls all around.

Had a good night New Year's Eve, staff were very pleasant, not a full crowd but for what were there they made it a really good night, the DJ was brilliant. Sorry we had to leave early we had plans, will visit again as they have a DJ every Friday night and karaoke the last of the month. Sorry for the late review just came back off a weeks holiday.

Called in with some work colleagues. The place was busy as it was not long before Christmas. However, we managed to find some space at the back in the heated veer garden. The staff were polite, and the service was prompt.
I love that this little pub is honest withoutan ounce pretentiousness, dedicated to quality and has a friendly atmosphere. Older crowd means relaxed and chatty people. Recommended
Great value!
We eat out every Christmas eve, this year we came here.
We chose this restaurant due to the soft play area and its easy to get to with plenty of parking. It can get busy but always able to book in advance.
We have been many times before for breakfast, lunch and even Christmas day and we're never disappointed with the quality or value for the food.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
My daughter and I both had the smothered platter, some had burgers and others had fish and chips.
You always get hot fresh food and great portions.
Lovely Christmas turkey dinner with an after eight mint sundae! Friendly staff but not enough of them when receiving guests at the desk. There were quite a few people who came in at once and we ended up queuing with them even when we had made a reservation. One of the members of the staff showed us to the table and she was lovely. All the staff and the food really did make up for the short wait at the beginning. Thanks so much 😊
Honestly the best food in the Bromsgrove area, the service is always fantastic too.

The steak is always perfectly prepared and cooked exactly how I asked, which is surprisingly rare these days!

It's also a lovely atmosphere.

If you wanna go out and feel at home at the same time then this is the place to be! Monday - darts, Tuesday- dominoes, Wednesday- karaoke, Thursday-free jukebox, Friday- disco, Saturday- live singer, Sunday- karaoke. Best pub in Bromsgrove!
We enjoy eating at The Nailers Arms with friends.
It is very reasonably priced and has a lovely atmosphere.
It was busy, which is good to see these days when so many places are struggling.
The only thing that we feel could be improved upon are hotter plates and warmer vegetables.
Your meal went cold very quickly.
Saying this, we will visit again.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon to an absolutely empty pub. No atmosphere, no music, just a singular member of staff shacked up in a corner on his phone, not even behind the bar. It seemed like myself and my friend were almost disturbing him by being there. When looking to inject a bit of life into our visit we headed for the dart board, where we were told that there were no darts to play with. Making it a redundant decoration. Needless to say, we didn't stay for long, downing our drinks and getting out of there sharpish.

We had our Christmas party here and have to say, it was a wonderful evening. Lucy looked after us in the Wigwam and that girl worked so hard, was attentive and such a credit to this establishment...food was lovely and the setting just perfect. Would suggest better lighting in the wigwam would be useful when food is delivered, but apart from this, I would love to visit here again...x

A very good local real ale pub, small but supplies a growing niche market. A good variety of ale is kept and served well. Only open for limited hours so check on the web pages.
Beautiful little restaurant and pub, such a friendly and warm atmosphere and the staff are so lovely. The food there is fantastic, I have to eat gluten free and they really accommodated me well and it was all delicious with good portions. I can’t recommend this place enough and I will be definetely coming back! :)

Extra edit: they’ve now started doing gluten free pizzas, which are the best pizzas on the planet!!
We had an excellent night watching Quill in concert. They were awesome as usual and the venue was spot on

What a find! An excellent pub with excellent food and very friendly and attentive staff. Dog friendly even though we were a bit muddy from the adjacent canal towpath. They even brought a bowl of water for the dog. Pizzas are a big thing here but they also provide sandwiches and lighter bites. It was busy for a Wednesday lunchtime so that tells its own story. Highly recommended and I wound definitely go again.

Set in a beautiful location next to the canal, the pub was very nice inside and out, with plenty of seating and nice lighting, there was even a blanket on the back of our outside chairs for if it got a bit chily. The food was tasty, and the service was good. The only slight downside was the portion size of our main meal.

I called the day before to make a midweek lunch booking as the online booking system told me that there was no availability. The very nice woman I spoke to on the phone was able to squeeze us in and I'm very glad that she did as the carvery was wonderful! I will definitely be visiting again.
We chose this restaurant due to the soft play area and the proximity to the motorway
We were not disappointed at all the food was lovely, service was 100% and the pricing was amazing for the amount of food you get.
The tomato soup was beautiful, my only con for the soup was that it came with a slice on bread rather than a small roll but it's only a minor thing and personal preference
Myself and my husband both had the Smothered platter. We underestimated the side of this meal and I couldn't finish it (disappointed in myself haha)
I had 2 cocktails which were lush! And 2 for £10 is a great deal.
We are due to go to London in October and are hoping to return the Guild on our way down south

Excellent food and decent beer options, location off the beaten track but clearly well known and liked as busy but not overbearing.

Well presented and to a high standard overall. I must have been unlucky and had the only less than perfect chair with in the building.

What a brilliant find! The perfect old country pub - but in the town. Great beer and good friendly welcome. Pool table in a separate area and easy wheelchair access through the sun trap beer garden and ramp access to a comfortable and welcoming lounge. The service by the carvery man was unreal, he was incredibly warm and charismatic. Such a small interaction left a lasting impression.
This was a 35th wedding anniversary party for 17 plus a toddler....the service was efficient the food brought out all together.
I would like to mention Lisa who I spoke to on the phone about the preorder she was brilliant .Very impressed and will be back....I didn't get the name of the young lady who waited on our table ...she was patient and attentive .
Absolutely amazing. The staff could not be helpful enough. They allowed me to bring a cake early and stored it in the fridge for me, then set up a cake table for our arrival, answered so many questions about the food to check for allergies, nothing was to much trouble...... and they did it all with a smile on their face.

Our 4th visit to the Queens Head which seems to get better with each visit. Very dog and people friendly! Never a problem parking and is set in a quiet spot that's perfect for relaxing. A pub with character! With its open kitchen, comfy seating and friendly staff, it's a perfect place for a date night, birthday drink or whatever! The food is very good quality and visiting midweek is a bonus also for the 2 for 1 pizza offer. Need to also mention the cocktails which are superb! The location makes for a memorable visit and a good spot to walk off the calories afterwards also 😀 👌

A little bit biased rating here as visited after proposing to the Mrs.....so has a special place in our hearts! That aside, it's a great place to visit if you're just popping in for a quick drink, even better if you fancy something to eat....... honestly, you can't go wrong here! The service at the bar was slow, I believe this was due to the barrell being changed and a new member of staff being trained or micro managed when something went wrong.

Otherwise it was a nice place to have a few drinks.

The decor is very dated and the gents toilets have holes in the roof. I think if they invest in giving it a refresh and repair it'll be great. But the team are doing great with what they have to work with.

Locals were all friendly and welcoming. Will definitely go back! Free parking was a huge bonus!!!

Great location however this pub is overrated and food isn't good.

We have tried to pop by on several attempts, once we got offered sandwhiches only so we came back another day and finally succeeded.

The food was very disappointing and staff nowhere to be found. The burger was just sad and chips overcooked. Pizza was no better. Drinks were fine. It was a very quiet day but still we couldn't find staff to pay so we could leave.

Popped by on another day just for drinks as we already know the food isn't great and it was very busy.

It seems like a very popular pub and the location is great, but I can't recommend the food and since it's so very busy I would chose somewhere else for drinks as well.

Nice little place but be aware this is a small place and gets very full during live shows. I'm not a regular so cannot comment on other entertainment but the band that was on seemed good.

There is limited seating so for persons who cannot stand for long periods or in a wheel chair have issues to find a suitable comfortable place.

Perfect dinner date venue at the heart of Bromsgrove. Better than the other pub in the middle of no where with the same name. Get your direction correct people. Bar staff are friendly and nice. You'll be greeted with people socialising outside
The New Inn is a wonderful country pub with great well kept beer and splendid food. A wonderful warm welcome awaits from all the staff, clearly trained to remember all the old fashioned family standards.

At the front of the property there is a ‘beer garden’ area, very popular in the warm weather of late and part of the car park front and back. Disabled access is good with a little extra care and behind the bar area there is a large seating area in the restaurant.

The online menu is quite varied and concentrates mainly on traditional pub meals, however that is not a criticism. The portions are good, and represent great value for money. Very few people could eat here, and honestly leave hungry. The sweets menu shows the same imagination with twists on the old favourites (mine the deep fried ice cream, & rum and raisin!) The service is wonderful with helpful friendly advice and reassuring attention to detail especially with our food allergies.

In short a family run friendly and great value country pub, super well kept beer and wonderful food served with imagination and backed by a good clear understanding of food allergens.

Fab night out at the Hop Pole Bromsgrove,! Great atmosphere! Loz Rabone an accoustic Artist, fantastic singer and guitarist. Playing accoustic covers from 60's to modern day. Would definitely recommend to listen to his music and a fab night at the Hop Pole Inn!
I had one meal and it was so nice! Delish! Really lived it. Nice size, fresh, perfect. No wait, quick serve, enjoyed every bite.

Edit!-*
Haha i am so sorry! Sleep deprivation! ..... this pub has a gorgeous dog, nice friendly staff and a good car park. This is a place i plan to go an eat at when i am next in the area.
Visited here several times when back home visiting family. The pork belly bites are worth the journey alone, but the pulled pork nachos will also be a must order from now on!! The halloumi bites are perfectly crispy and the loaded potato skins are incredibly tasty as well. You can’t go wrong with anything from the ‘small plates’ section! But don’t be fooled, these plates are not small at all, so 3 for £20 is INCREDIBLE value for money, especially given how incredibly delicious the food is!

Having also visited for a Sunday lunch in the past, the roast lamb is superb!

Very nice country pub which has been refurbished and is now under new management. The new team are very friendly and welcoming. The landlord can’t do enough for his customers, everything you ask for is ‘No Problem’. Great customer service. There's a nice log fire and a great selection of real ales at reasonable prices. The only down side is they only serve cold food, but it’s a good selection that goes particularly well with the traditional ales that are on sale. They take party bookings and will put on a buffet to suit the number of guests. I went with my family on Sunday afternoon and everybody enjoyed themselves. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere was great.
