Cold food and bacon was full of fat and looked grey, beans tasted odd. Best part of it was toast. Tea water kuke warm. Tasteless and disappointing.
Just another weatherspoons, except this ones in Manchester. To be fair it did have a decent selection of beers on which were on good form. Not really my type of place but hay ho.
Really nice place like most Wetherspoons and the toilets were downstairs.

Some of the best Bangers and Mash I’ve had here. Great vibe and lovely interiors. Wish we had more places like these in Berlin, Germany
Nice pub with a good selection of English pies and beers. The beef pie was delicious but the cheese & onion veg pie was disappointing and not cheesy. Also the broccoli was nice but not worth the price.
The BEST fish and chips EVER. Highly recommend. I am sometimes skeptical about pub food when its ordinarily all about the booze but the Bay Horse does not disappoint. Keep up the fab food! Buzzing atmosphere too. And happy, nothing is a problem bar staff.
Great service in this well run pub considering it fills up pretty quickly being long and narrow - feels like this place is on the up.
Their chicken wings (my favourite) never disappoint and can’t go wrong with the good old meat feast pizza. Tried their chicken strips, loved them, I recommend. Great service, quick too.

Very good pub in a former shop unit on the approach to Manchester Piccadilly Station. Five cask beers on handpump when I last visited including a porter.
The bar on the ground floor is largely a standing area. Upstairs is a seating area with bench, pool table and toilets and a terrace overlooking Piccadilly approach.

My Sunday roast ever & I was not disappointed at all, so delicious. Great service and beautiful ambiance. Would come back!

A brilliant microbrewery. Always good quality beers, reasonably priced for Manchester. Never been disappointed. Especially recommend the stout; near perfection.
Really really busy little pub. Has a really traditional pub feel to it. It offers fantastic booze and the architecture is brilliant too.

You can sense the history of this pub as you get closer. Standing by itself on the corner out living buildings that have come before it and still breathing love into the city. Manchester is full of historic pubs, and being built in 1888, is even cooler. I was a little in awe with the high ceilings when I entered but felt at home within seconds. Bartenders were super cool. This place is also dog friendly, huge bonus in my book. I was also told the beers sometimes rotate making every trip and new trip. Enjoy Marble Arch if you can, it’s worth!
Love a little gem such as this especially within a stones throw of the station. Great range of beers on tap and cask, warm and welcoming atmosphere. Oh and a nice pint 👍🏼🍺
I came to this pub the town hall tavern whilst at the Christmas markets an had such a lovely night thanks to such welcoming an friendly bar staff in particular Eileen. So friendly an brilliant drinks. Ten out of ten.
One of the best roast dinners we've had in town and I think we've nearly had them all. Highly recommend!

There are regular offers on food/drink in The Bay Horse, so it’s worth popping in for decent scran and a great pint of Guinness. I like the food presented here, whether on offer or not and like to visit a couple of times a month.
Not a bad place to drop in for a pint... always busy so they must be doing something right... the night that we ate there, all the "popular" items were gone, fish & chips etc... what we ordered was pretty awful, she had some kind of Guinness pie, I had a spicy chicken goujons burger... most of both meals went unfinished. As I said, ok for a quick pint...
Probably the best football pub I've been in, great screens, easy viewing, good atmosphere
K-Club hosted a lunchtime event in the Memorial Hall earlier this year and everything was great from start to finish. We were well looked after by the team on the day in our private setting with separate entrance, bar & facilities; they were flexible with our requests on service times and we we didn't feel rushed at all. All IT worked as hoped which is always a relief!! Food and setting were lovely - lots of positive feedback from our guests. We're already looking forward to returning in early next year.

Always have amazing service and food from here. Midweek they do 50% off all food and 2 for 1 cocktails. Amazing value for money. The older gentleman and the girl with curly hair are always lovely.
A truly incredible pub! The food is to die for, one of the tastiest veggie burgers I’ve had in 30 years and a special mention to the fondue fries, just delicious. The marble burger was of excellent quality too. Fabulous range of ales of course, will hopefully get to sample the ginger ale on tap next time. The staff make you feel very welcome. Thanks for making our weekend away! 😊
Thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Bay Horse Tavern. My work team and I came for their pub quiz but booked a table to have dinner beforehand. We sent in a pre-order as we were a large group and the staff were very accomodating and friendly when we arrived. Our food was served quickly too and it was absolutely delicious! Everyone enjoyed their meals and we were left very happy.
As we were joining the pub quiz, we were seated downstairs near the kitchen which meant we had to go upstairs to the bar for drinks. This wasn't really an issue, but it would have been convenient if their QR code worked or had wait staff so we didn't have to constantly go up and down.

Good place to have a beer and watch a football or rugby match! It can get crowded during a Manchester United or Manchester City match. Food is served here as well.
Went to watch a city match with 2 friends who were here visiting it had the best vibes and space, having popped into Walkabout, Director's Box, and the little sports bar up the road, before deciding on this.

Top beers low prices decent food the place was packed but service was fast
I came here with my girlfriend for food only and we found this when looking at highly reviewed venues. This pub definitely lived up to its reviews!
The food was lovely with great presentation, the bar/restaurant was comfortable, warm and a nice place to sit. The staff were friendly and helpful.

My husband and I have worked out of this cafe multiple times and the service and ambiance is just perfect. The food is amazing and the staff are very friendly. Thank you to the management for letting us work here, talk through meetings for hours whilst enjoying delicious food.

Me and my boyfriend went for lunch. Having not been from Manchester, we googled a local pub that does food. We came across the Town Hall Tavern which did not disappoint. The food was really really nice. It was pub food but NICE pub food :)
The staff were nice and helpful. The design of the pub was unique and quite cool. Would be a good pub to watch a football match in.

Went in here a good few times, enjoyed having a breakfast. My partner struggled to finish his medium size, unlike him. Another day I had Gammon steak 😋 ,Absolutely lovely, great value. Staff very welcoming and friendly

I visited this establishment to experience a "full English breakfast", I got a plate full of tasty food for an incredible friendly price. The unlimited coffee was good. The next day I got eggs Benedict. I liked it a lot. The staff was very friendly.
Came here to watch the footy. Great service good food and plenty of tv’s around to get a good view. Very clean and a good choice of beers.
Great pub and nice food. We came on Thursday night and at one point were only ones there (surprisingly) which was nice, though music was very loud. It gave gentlemen’s club type of vibes. Some good deals on cocktails. We had sirloin steak and it was tender and soft.

As a visitor to Manchester and the UK, this tavern was the only one where I could find Boddingtons on tap. Little did I know that it was now brewed in Lancashire. Enjoyed my pint :)
Very good service. Staff proud to say we’re not a Wetherspoon although it def has that vibe. Big problem that on a Saturday afternoon they’d run out of all beers. Weird and costly. We were a group of 14 and would have stayed a lot longer if they’d had something to drink!

A seriously stunning old pub with a great selection of home-brewed cask ale and antique furniture. Seems to be run by some hip youngsters, which gives the place a heart-filling new/old feel. The curious customer will notice a distinct downward gradient from the front door to the bar, which was not readily explicable, but makes the decision to leave a little more difficult.
It was a bit quite when we first arrived.
Tom our server was fantastic and definitely knowledgeable of the menu.
The mussels were fantastic.
I had the chicken breast with gnocchi which was definitely a good choice.
We also order the steak pie but with fat chips my husband said it was gorgeous my daughter had the chicken burger who also enjoyed that.

A large pub with a very similar vibe to a Wetherspoons. Boothroyd says he has hardly ever been here as it can be a bit intimidating on busy days, especially Saturdays in the footie season. It is a great place to meet up, a cheap place to fill up with food and drink. The huge plus for Boothroyd was a choice of 8 real ales from all over. We had a 4.4% Pale Ale, Brummie Blond by Birmingham brewery.. there were ales from London Sussex, Rutland, Suffolk and Surrey. Also Wainwright's Amber but not sure where this is now brewed..I think Staffordshire. Loads of TV's. The breakfast menu looks great, £8 for a massive full Irish..smaller options available. Changes to main menu at midday. Don't bring your date for the food but otherwise looks cheap and cheerful. £10 deal for two mains.

Came here for their first bottomless brunch and really enjoyed the visit. Staff were attentive, friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. Processo was flowing with a full glass all the time and the cocktails were very nice.
The main reason we came here was the menu looked really good. You don’t really expect decent food from a bottomless brunch but the scampi was amazing and the other half had a quality burger.
Overall a fantastic experience and we will be back very soon.

I love this pub. I haven't been in for about 20 years. The pub has wonderful glazed tiles on the walls from a bygone age. The floor has the original mosaic tiles.

Stopped in for afternoon lunch and what a great find! Must try their seafood pie - such a flaky crust and seafood and sauce was great. It came with a choice of potato and peas. Thought I had mushy peas coming but received the garden peas, but received a separate side of mushy on the side!

First impressions were looking great. We arrived an hour prior to our restaurant reservation and so sat downstairs with a drink. The decor of the place is great and the couple of staff members we initially interacted with were lovely and attentive, and taking an interest in our reason for being there, which was a small hen do. Upon being taken upstairs for our meal we were still happy with our choice of venue, and our waitress seemed nice too. Unfortunately things went downhill rapidly from there. We were offered water for the table and a bottle of water was promptly received, however we noticed other tables had been given jugs of presumably tap water and therefore not chargeable. This was a minor niggle, but things got considerably worse when the food arrived. Two of our party ordered the fish and chips, and on first sight it looked great, however on biting into the chips and even the fish batter, they were met with a salty overdose which rendered them inedible. They therefore hardly touched their meals, and yet were still charged £15.50 each for their sodium overload. When we finally got to express our disappointment with someone, as service was seriously lacking by this point like we were being avoided given it was blatantly clear to see they had hardly touched their food, they were simply offered more chips, which they politely declined, particularly as they both actually felt sick by this point. When asked again how our meal was when we asked for the bill, the waitress seemed disinterested and made it sound like she was doing us a favour by simply stating she'd pass on the information to the chef. We were willing to spend a lot of money in here on more wine, desserts and cocktails, but decided to leave immediately and not part with any further cash. The two ladies had their evening ruined as they then went on to suffer from bad heartburn for the rest of the night, and one of them was the bride to be. This obviously wasn't a one off incident as both dishes were the same, and even the fries that came with the burgers that my friend and I had were over salted. I'm really not sure why they had salt pots on the tables, and if you've been advised to follow a low sodium diet I would avoid this place, or at least the fish and chips or fries. We will not be returning.

Wow. Loved it and will defiantly be back. Service and food was amazing - I really recommend the sea-bass linguine which is unreal. The cucumber cooler cocktail is also outstanding

Was welcomed right away with a cracking atmosphere of live music and friendly staff. Gary showed us to our table and looked after us well the entire evening.
There was a slight mix up with the order and my wife got the halloumi kebab stater instead of the halloumi burger main, but it was rectified right away with no fuss. Her burger came within a few minutes whilst my food was still hot (extra points).
The food however is some of the best I’ve had in a long time! Absolutely flawless.

Fabulous traditional pub right in the heart of Manchester. Very comfortable and well decorated. Excellent range of decent cask ales. There was a big group of us but we were quickly seved by friendly bar staff.

Honestly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, it's something out of a horror film but having said that the staff were amazing very helpful shame about the actual hotel avoid like the plague!!!!!!
Nice sports bar but the bouncer ruined the night. We booked a booth for 7 but turned up with 6. The 7th of our party turned up 45 mins later having previously been at a BBQ and was refused entry. I spoke to the bar staff to assist who went to speak to the bouncer and the was still refused entry. The 7th of our party had not been drinking but was simply refused entry out of principle of us not telling him he was going to be late. The bar staff did not interject into the situation although she could tell that it was unnecessary. The bouncer was incredibly rude and clearly on some sort of power trip. I was perfectly polite and was approached with aggression to the point I thought I was going to be thrown out. Real shame which ruined what was set to be a memorable evening.
Fantastic experience at the Assheton Arms. The rooms were immaculate and the service was first rate. Amazing to have such a good experience so close to the city center for such a low price. We especially appreciated the spotless bathrooms which I think are recently renovated? Would definitely stay again.
Came here before one of the Manchester United games, this place was packed with fans. Love the selection of beers supplied at Wetherspoons, quite traditional as well. I chose one of the Red Ale's to drink, I believe I ended up getting a Lancaster Red. I only got a beer but the food looked great as well, saw a lot of Fish and Chips, definitely want to try the food here one day.
Been coming here for 30 years through a lot of phases and, despite the brewery being away from the pub now, the beer range remains heavy on the marble beers. Still looks as I remember it from the 90s and, if you've not been, it's a proper feast for the eyes. Food isn't cheap but it's (or was last time I had some) really good.

A nice sports-style bar in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter. Nicely style with plenty of seating over two floors and a good selection of beers. TV screens well located for watching sport.
The staff seem very friendly and efficient (short bar waiting times despite being very busy).

Came for food the other day, was served by Gary who was absolutely brilliant. The roast dinner was amazing, way better than last time I came. The gravy was the best I’ve had in Manchester. He recommended me their signature cocktail the ‘Aussie Cooler’ which was delicious.
Visited the Wishing Well for an early birthday meal. Service was impeccable from the start, all the staff were really nice and friendly and really went above and beyond during our meal. The cocktails were amazing, my girlfriend had a 10/10 mojito from her review and I had a nice blue moon. The food, where do I begin. The meat sharing board was brilliant, presentation was great and tasted sooo good. Mains, I had the tastiest Shephards pie with red wine gravy and the portion did not disappoint. My girlfriend had the Ham, egg and chips, she couldn’t get enough, she even highlighted how the yoke of the eggs were cooked to perfection. Sat downstairs in the bar area and enjoyed the warmth of the fire along with the nice pub atmosphere. Well definitely be returning soon for more. Great food and drinks for all choices, my girlfriend had a dairy allergy and they were able to accommodate for it with ease. Would highly recommend visiting the Wishing Well , Didsbury. Just heard they have an open mic night every Tuesday 🤯.
Nice pub, visited early on a Friday evening, there was a DJ playing music which was ok. Pretty quite, for a Friday.

Had a meal, went for the beef bourguignon, was ridiculously sweet, didn’t seem balanced, might have just been my taste buds. I was charged a £4 service charge, bearing in mind I just had a main and a beer, which seemed excessive as it was only me. Its not the best value for money.

I stay in many a budget hotel/hostel and believe me I have stayed in some very questionable accommodation, but this was the fist time I have ever left due to the sheer lack of even basic hygiene levels in both the room and the shared bathrooms. I would say avoid like the plague, but this would be unnecessarily harsh on the plague. In fact the plague is probably a minor ailment compared to what you may catch if you stay here.
Shockingly dirty, unsafe and disgusting room. The room looked nothing like the pictures posted ob Expedia. The bathrooms were dirty, most taps were not working and the shower tray flooded due to blocked pipe. The furnitures in my room were broken, the TV didn't work and the room smelled mouldy!
Good burgers, good beer and an excellent music selection. Nice place to happy hours with friends, date, football match or just killing time.
Attended fountain house for lunch to take advantage of the January 50% off deal. Hadn’t visited before.
It’s a lovely venue and the food is reasonably good, staff were friendly and polite. However, unfortunately the service showed room for improvement. On arriving, I was given food menus, but not offered the vegan menu or the drinks menu. When the food came, we were not offered any condiments or salt/pepper/vinegar and one of the parties food was cold, thought they did change this and made a fresh portion, although it meant everyone else had finished eating before she got her meal. Then we asked for dessert menu and one dessert was ordered. After ordering, we were told that this dessert was not available and so chose something else - the waiter returned saying there was a problem with this too, so the dessert was cancelled. When the bill came, we had to ask for the discount as it hadn’t been put on, and then we realised the dessert we hadn’t had was there too. Then the process of paying became complicated and we were left feeling that the whole experience was just hard work. Some of these issues alone would have been ok as I know it’s hard to remember everything, but it was just a bit much on this occasion.

We had a lovely meal at The Fountain House! Highly recommend on a week day for a quiet meal as there is a bar upstairs that has music on during the weekends.

Fantastic food. The Sunday lunch was amazing and the staff were lovely and inviting. It has a Quirky interior and even a board game corner to amuse you while you wait for your food. I thoroughly loved it and would definitely back!
Great lil spot. Friendly staff. Decent food massive TV screen for the footy fairly priced drinks clean toilets 🚻 I can't complain
It was a pleasure to enjoy Friday evening in this pub. We absolutely like craft beer and nice fish&chips here. You definitely should visit this place
Great Sport's Bar Located on the old Tib street. I visited midweek early afternoon quiet time but i do know this venue does get very busy whenever there's sports on live so if your planning to watch a game especially a Manchester team don't leave it too late to get a table. Bar staff were great and you do get a good vibe about the whole place. It's definitely on my list to call In again soon.

It's a hidden gem...food comes so quick! This is my third time going and food always comes fast, Monday and Tuesday is 50% off so its soo cheap and 100% worth it. The place is spotless with very friendly staff and boardgames which I love as well as good music. The pizzas are so stringy and the club and pork sandwiches are all good there. Steak a lil too chewy for me but still not bad...ask for desserts as they do do them and the brownie with ice cream is very good but they don't seem to have a menu for it.

They have live djs some nights and it's also worth noting that they're DOG FRIENDLY!! So helpful when off to get a train with your dog and fancy a cheeky beer.

Funky little venue with plenty of seating, inside and out plus a vast range of beers to navigate your way through. Staff are more than happy to provide samples to help you choose. Will definitely be back if I have a spare hour near Piccadilly.
