Ordered the Manchester Breakfast and it arrived with one egg (instead of two), which had a hair on it. The manager was happy to get me a replacement breakfast and added on some free toast and orange juice as well.

Everything apart from the sausages and black pudding tasted good, although the grilled tomato could've been cooked for longer. Happy with the service though.

Never ate here. Was charging my phone and a couple with a young child came over to sit down. The child made some noise and knocked something off the table. A female employee came over with a terrible attitude and said they were now closing the section and we had to move. As I was leaving she was shaking her head muttering things under her breath. Although I think this review will go unnoticed as every review on here about this place seems to be the same and I would take a guess that they’re all about the same employee.
Bloody rediculous. £3.85 for half a cup of latte? And the so called manager said it was a full measure. Disgusting.
Pretty bad to be fair. Why do restaurants insist on every sandwich includes a brioche bun? When I want a sausage sandwich or bacon it needs to be on bread. Hash browns were cold too.

Wonderful old pub with a long history. Whilst a pub since the 1800s, the building has stood since 1552, with a rich story. Nice outside area to enjoy a beverage when the weather is good.
Horrible service, no customer service attitude. Long waiting queues but other guests that are finished waiting and making times on the tables, reading, occuping a big table although there are 2...and not consuming anything. They were still there when we left.
Then we sat 4 persons on a table for 2 and we wanted to order through the qr code... Everywhere it is announced to order through that system and give our table number. See attached picture.
Then we see its not working so we ask the waiter, there are 3 waiters standing and chatting all the time, and then they tell us we have to order at the bar.
I go there and ineffective service.
I order but their system is not working, so we move to another.
Then we wait long time to get our food.
Then my vegan burger was not only small, usual for airports, but also cold and not really good. The coffee also cold.
The portion of curry is ridiculous but expensive.
Well then I ask if there is a manager ad they ask our feedback. He never showed up.
Then at the end one of those waiters asks if everything is fine. Obviously not.
She asks me if I want to speak to the manager. Then finally Ms. Chloe shows up. She asks me, I tell her all the points. She just excuses and nothing happened.
Welcome to great customer service.
I think there is much to learn from this example. How it not should work.
They could win much more. Happy guests, we are not the only ones, more money for the company, more efficient service, etc etc.
Moral: one has to be willing to learn and if really interested in feedback get into action. The rest doesn't count. Only concrete actions.

First of all they give a warm welcome and the restaurant looks amazing. The fries are crunchy and the steak is delicious. One flavour explosion gives a great taste.
I will definitly recommend this place if you want to have a great night for a good price

The food came out within 5 mins of ordering but the chip must of been batch cooked and under a lamp on hot plate as they were dehydrated more than me. The burger bun was slightly stale and the gherkins did taste too good, the meat was so processed, Lettuce was ok. Was given no cutlery (sort of understand ) but also not napkins for my hand after being forced eat with hands! For £20 you would think I could of been better

The menus are sticky and never wiped clean. The tray my drinks were served on was dirty with something sticky so I had to clean my hands fully before I could eat. Had to go to the bathroom to wash to get rid of the sticky substance.

Whenever lucky enough to be in Manchester on business I find time to stop and have a bite at Old Wellington. The staff is on the younger side, cheerful and attentive. Food is generous and attractive. This time I only had time for Smoked Scottish Salmon and cup of Green tea. It’s a three level 150 year old Pub! That alone ought to make you curious about stopping by. My friendly server was Amelie!

Was ok for a quick bite but nothing special. Was clean but no table service.
I've Just Been To The Lion And Antelope For Breakfast And Trust Me It's WAYYY Better Than 3.2 Stars!! I Had Some Pancakes And Hash Browns For Breakfast And The Pancakes Were Delish! 😋 They Were Gorgeously Fluffy And The Syrup Was Spectacular! So Were The Hash Browns! The Food Was Tasty And The Orange Juice Was Alright! Kudos To The Staff! Also There's Chargers 4 Ur Phone| Btw The Food That My Dad Had Was Like Pretty Bad (it was the full English) So Please Please Don't Order That! (The Drop In Stars Was Because Of That) And The Coffee Was Cheap. Mostly Overpriced But Some Parts Are Ok

We recently stopped for a meal and a beer. The restaurant has a charming atmosphere and the building has a rich history that goes back to the medieval times. The staff were friendly, making us feel right at home. While the beer was really good, we found the food to be just average. However, we’re definitely considering giving it another shot in the future.

Kristol and Felan were lovely, friendly & really helpful, Kristol especially so when my friend was delayed and I was sat there alone with enough food for a small village!
Leo was here again and was also lovely. All the staff here always are. The food has always been delicious too and was again.
I highly recommend it.

I ordered nachos and it took forever to get to me. When I did get them there was barely any cheese at all (see photo.) I then asked for more cheese in a dish so then I could just dip my chips, it took over an hour and multiple reminders to the staff that I wanted a dish of cheese. When I did get the cheese it was an extremely small dish again, and it was not enough to finish the chips. I was left with more than half of the plate of chips left. Absolutely do NOT recommend.
Great cricket club staff are friendly and always there to help

Complete treasure of a place. Food is generous and delicious - menu is exciting, with plenty of options that make me wish for return visits to try everything. Not to mention the building is a historic delight and an incredible feat of architectural preservation. Staff were wonderful and warm, and all in all an incredibly wonderful way to while away a cozy afternoon. Will be dreaming about this pub for a while.
One of the last remaining classic local pubs in the middle of Manchester.
Great supporters of live music too!

Had a very tasty breakfast bacon butty, and added a couple of hashbrowns. It came pretty quickly, and sitting outside on the patio provided plenty of entertainment! Bit of a weird setup in that you get seated, get your table number from the qr code there, and then order at the bar.
Atmosphere I've given 3 only because personal preference is for somewhere a little quieter. Think also it was busy as we went on a Saturday afternoon.

Service I have to say was one to one young lady on the bar and one young lad bringing food out plus condiments and cutlery. They did a good job if a little slow. But I did feel for them as there were 4 other staff, and I would see having a chat to the corner of the bar.

The food took a while to come out, but I put that down to a table of 6 ordering before us. However, the macaroni cheese was delicious, as was the sticky toffee pud.

I was able to get in the double doors with help from staff as I pushed my husband in his wheelchair ♿️.

I didn't see an disabled toilet, and if there was a lift for wheelchair users to access their secret garden.
What a lovely place this was.

We spotted the place when we parked the car, went to the hotel, and then straight back to this establishment.

What a great selection of drinks they had on offer, great atmosphere with people sitting inside and outside. The staff were ever so friendly.

This is a bar I will 100% return to, and also recommend to friends if they are in the area.
This is a great find if you like a good variety of beers. The only reason it isn't a 5 is just through personal preference (I like my sours so would've liked to have seen a couple on draught). I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking to try a bunch of new and different beers though 🙂

Not sure on the bad reviews. £6 a for a good pint at an airport. Pay that in town nowadays!
Yes burger and chips is a bit keen at £17, but tasty and a good portion. The pickles were a rouge choice, but that's just personal preference!
Nice staff, very clean. Lad hosting was very welcoming and have never seen anyone clean so much!
Great pub. Super choice of beers and knowledgeable staff. Would definitely visit again.

After a long and early journey from North West Wales to catch a flight, we decided to try Amber Alehouse for a brunch and drink. Shown to. A dirty table, we ordered 2 x porridge and 2 x teas. And duly waited 20 minutes while staff walked out of the premises to go on their break with a +5 min gap before 2 other returned from their break. We eventually got our order. Lukewarm porridge that complimented the warm water used in the teacups. Poor all round. The first and last time we go to AA. A solid 1.5 out of 5. Avoid.

Best pub on Deansgate. Come here for Sunday Service stand up comedy open mic every week. Bar service on ground floor is a bit iffy (some are better than others) but it's mostly alright and with a bit of patience it's worth having a drink here for the location and atmosphere alone. Cloud 23 is right next door if you fancy more of a quiet atmosphere.
ordered some starters, was told after paying for a deal, that one wasn’t available, so we understood and changed the food, then food took ages to come, despite being only one of a couple of tables eating. when food came eventually, they had forgotten about the rest which turned up twenty minutes later, and cold. we sent back the food and took over half an hour to simply be heated up. not really good enough considering barely any other customers eating and being a relatively quiet atmosphere, so felt disappointed.
some helpful staff at the bar, including nice girl, who helped out on her break, and a rushed waiter who appeared stressed with a lot of work, but overall not satisfied at all.

Great local pub with fine jukebox!
I first visited this pub a few weeks back with my mum when we went to Manchester to watch a show, today we went again to Manchester to watch another show and we had to visit this place again for lunch.
On both occasions the food and service was definitely 5 star, the pub has a great feel when you walk in and the staff are very welcoming. The prices for both food and drink are also very reasonable.
When we went today we noticed there'd been a menu change which I was a little disappointed about because I wanted to order what I'd had the first time but it was no longer on the menu.
When I spoke to a member of staff about the new menu I mentioned what I'd ordered the first time, he then took it upon himself to go and ask the chef if it would he possible for me to have the philly steak sub roll even though it was no longer on the menu, the chef said this was okay so I was able to have what I wanted.
That is definitely what I would call 5 star service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Special shout out to Phil who was the member of staff that sorted everything for me today and thank you for another wonderful lunch 🫶

** The picture attached is from my first visit as I forgot to take one today 🤦‍♀️

As a Resident nearby I give 1 star ,
I can endure Monday and Friday morning unloading iton beer barrel but not Friday and Saturday night noisy from there .
Honestly I never been there , maybe the food and drink a good but they should control their customer at night . thankyou
Recommend eating here before your trip to the Arena. The pub is a beautiful tutor building. Low beams and an incredible wooden roof on the 3rd of 3 floors. It's very central so do book in advance. Go for the pies. They are massive and fabulous 👌

Excellent pub!
Many cracks in the rustic decor only highlight the excellent atmosphere.
Staff are brilliant. Friendly, full of banter, polite and cheerful!
Prices for drinks, more than fair.
Food is excellent, a bit pricey, but most pub food is anyways. A bit perplexed by the predominantly German food menu. Got the Sunday Chicken Roast, and it was mouthwateringly good.
Could do with some minor investment, but the decor, even if a bit rustic and fading, just adds to the homely atmopshere.
With a bit of investment, this could easily become the best pub in Manchester central.
Great bar for trying a new ale as they change quite regularly, Great atmosphere. Bar snacks from Littlewoods Pies
Owners always very helpful and accommodating.. great little bar in the heart of NQ. Highly recommend!

A good old-fashioned pub in the heart of Manchester. For the city centre the prices were reasonable, and there was a good selection of beers. The staff were all very friendly and professional. This is a good place to watch sporting events and also a good meeting point. It is located right behind Primark and only 5 minutes walk from the train station. I would recommend a visit.
Visited for a couple of pints early evening on a weekday. Great service from the chaps behind the bar. Huge selection of beers. Definitely worth a visit.
Fantastic owner, good beer! Clean and perfect!
Cracking beer house/taproom. Plenty of craft and cask on tap. Staff friendly, seating out front and out the back. Good atmosphere inside

So me and my Fiancee are from Manchester and we were heading to Podgorica in Montenegro so we got through security at Terminal 3, So decided to pop into the Lion and Antelope for food and drink.

We were lucky to get a table as the pub was rammed, You can go to the bar to order food or drinks or scan the QR code along with your table number and the food and drink are delivered to your table.

Service was slow as the Pub was extremely busy but polite and friendly staff, Food was nothing special and was extremely over priced but it is an Airport so fully expected it to be expensive, Polite and Friendly staff, Restaurant wasn't overly clean but again there wasn't loads of staff and the pub was packed, Food wise we ordered chips, Chicken wings, Loaded Nachos, Food was bog standard and extremely overpriced for what it was.

Food was OK we, Pint was again overpriced but cold, Crisp pint,

2☆
Went to have lunch and watch the football and had a great time! There were loads of screens up with multiple different games on so you could watch the one you wanted (and if they aren’t showing the one you want I’m sure if you ask they’ll switch the channel on one of the many screens). We ordered small plates to have a “tapas” lunch and everything was so good!!😍
I was here for a friends 60th birthday party, great venue and the staff were very polite and friendly.
I don't live locally but would recommend this venue if you live nearby.

Came to the Shakespeare on Easter Sunday. Very good in house beer. Chicken dinner was very good and substantial. The star for me was the Curry wurst which I havn't had since being stationed in Germany. Outstanding. Anyone who was in the British Army of the Rhine, (or who just loves authentic German food), should pay a visit. I will certainly be going back.

Out and about in Manchester with Albrecht. After a Sunday roast at the Abel Heywood Albrecht spotted this pub close by. It is many years since my last visit. It has hardly changed with a lovely wood panel interior. The pub wraps around a central bar. Sharpes Doom bar (eugh) and ( thankfully) draught Bass on handpump. Bass, once the biggest selling beer in Britain, is now a rare find. We enjoyed our Sunday afternoon pint while a singer kept the locals entertained.
First stop after flying into Manchester for a 10-day UK trip after taking the train from the airport to Piccadilly. This is a quick walk from the station if you’re craving a bite and a pint. Rustic boozer with a certain charm. Lots of groups of friends in here enjoying beers and crisps. A warm, convivial spot with equally friendly staff. Everything was great, including the chicken sub I ordered. An impressive array of draft and cask. And man do they pour a good pint of Landlord (they’re a Champion Club member).
We needed food before heading to an event. This was right next door. Amazing food! I got the fish and chips. The daughters got the chicken and oyster with mushrooms and the other one got the chicken schnitzel .... wonderful food. The atmosphere is old history and was great.

I recently visited the Shakespeare and was deeply disappointed by the experience. While the ambiance and drinks were decent, the management's behavior was shockingly rude and aggressive. From belittling customers to dismissing concerns with hostility, their conduct tarnished what could have been an enjoyable evening. Unfortunately, until the management addresses their attitude, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a pleasant night out.

This place was absolutely awful. Went for breakfast and ordered a full english. The food took 40 minutes to come even though there was only us and and one other couple in the whole pub. When it did come the food was shoddily undercooked, particularly the egg, and here’s the best part which I’ve included a picture of: I had genuinely about 13 baked beans on my plate. In a full english that cost £9 😭. Abysmal, wouldn’t go back if it was the last place in Manchester open.

Considering this pub is run by the largest managed pub co in the UK and is Cask Marque credited, it is a poor show when they only have the bland House Bitter on cask this Friday night. Despite that the bar has been tastefully renovated - be sure to visit the 2 upstairs terraces and take in the retro posters of Manchester in the day when this was a Wilson’s house.
Very good pub in a former shop about 10 minutes walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station. Seven cask beers on handpump when I last visited including two oatmeal stouts. Plenty of outdoor seating in the beer garden to the rear, most of it covered.

The bar is on the ground floor and there is an upstairs room. The toilets are on the second floor but there is an accessible toilet on the ground floor.

Considering it is AIRPORT and catering is not the prime objective I found food was very good. Very busy turnaround but service is great. Tables are being cleaned swiftly as people queuing to get a table.
Not sure why people rating this place so low, I totally disagree. 4 * from me! Many thanks
Good spot to catch f1. Great crowd show up and good vibe. My complaint is - they have a single sound system. Aside from the “main screen” in the corner, all the rest were showing f1 and had table full of f1 crowd, but later they had the football sound on for the whole pub. Still would recommend.
Brilliant craft beer selection, local bar snacks (best pork pie I've ever had). Nice and clean, lovely decor and artwork on the walls. All the best things about craft beer/real ale pubs without being sticky and dingy. Would definitely go back. The downstairs bar was busy, but there was also a nice looking seating area upstairs which looked quieter.

There was a huge queue to get served at the bar and to order food (same line) To find that this were running on a very limited menu. Of inlet we’d know this before we queued!

Ordered a big breakfast and a child’s meal. They had the tiniest burger as you can see in the photo! Our big breakfast was cold and not very big!!

Only really for kids up to six years of age due to how small it was!

I will avoid this place for sure next time I’m lucky enough to be going away.

This was a great pub to go drinking at, having a vintage design as the name indicates and the frames add to this! I enjoyed a bottle of Corona Extra served by friendly staff at the well-presented counter and the seating is comfortable, although they had no food available sadly due to poor planning.

[Asia Honeymoon Tour 2023] 27/02/23: was really looking forward to experiencing Terminal 2 Manchester Airport and the new (to us) Amber Alehouse, operated on behalf of Seven Bro7hers Brewery. Sadly, no investor discounts. The Amber Breakfast at £12 was filling and the Hoppy Pale was really fresh and crisp, even at 0500hrs. Clean bar & restaurant, plenty of seating, 2 flight screens. Bar service, but plates not cleared away once finished with.
Awesome little bar with a lovely bar lady. I got the feeling it's non really a kid friendly place but my kids loved it especially the hot chocolate and the lovely lady. It is a sportsbar but we needed a place to warm up and grab a delicious coffee and a chat

A proper traditional pub with freundly staff is best way way to describe this establishment. Great looking on the outside with all classic features inside. Very clean throughout with a great atmosphere which is helped by the friendly manner you are served.
Situated opposite the food court of the Arndale shopping centre. First visit in about 5 years. Can get very busy but fine on a Wednesday lunchtime. Had a choice of Landlord or Doom Bar; no choice really..excellent Landlord. A Moorhouses beer waiting to be ready to serve. Fairly standard food menu. £12.50 fish n chips, £12.49 pie n mash. Similar price for burgers. Well worth a visit. Two upstairs rooms and a small secret roof garden.
Held a football presentation there last night. I couldn't attend through illness so my wife had to quickly resume the role as host. Vicky and the team were great supporting her with things she didn't know about as they had been communicated directly with me already. This is definitely my go to for functions with my team going forwards.

A real gem of a bar, went today and think this will now be my go to spot to watch the football. Very nice coffee and ales, and got some bottles of wine to takeaway. Good chatting with the owner, very friendly service. Highly recommend a visit.
What a fantastic atmosphere. I have been on a couple of occasions now. Staff remember your choices of drink and even after a few weeks remember your name even though not a regular. I have a feeling this will change. Great wine and music bar. Highly recommended

I like going to this bar and the food is good, quick and reasonably priced. The bar staff are on the ball and helpful. Unlike a lot of places in central Manchester - I'm not constantly looking over my shoulder and feel quite relaxed whenever I visit. The alternative/rock music playlist is exactly my taste and there's lots of space and seating with it never being too busy. Found it by accident and I'm glad I did.

Absolutely shocking!! We visited this bar for a lunch a couple of weeks ago. It was not particularly busy, 10 of us. The food was OK nothing special but we had some of the worst service EVER! One of the party ordered pizza, everyones order came out..we asked where it was and was told soon. We all ate our dinner and then still no pizza! We went to the bar and asked where it was...for the third time to be told they'd forgotten it and it would be with us in 10 mins. It then arrived and it was the wrong pizza....with ingredients that the individual was allergic too! They kindly said would cook another but it would be yet another 15 minutes! But she could have her money back for the food. They didn't offer anything else to say sorry no free drink or nibbles while she was waiting or even an apology. Avoid! So she went to the shop across the road and had a sandwich instead....

Nice place friendly staff. Only been here one time but 1st impressions were good. They had an offer on of two cocktails for £10. Both cocktails had to be the same to get the offer though. Apart from that its a nice place nice staff close to the station. 👍🏻

Lovely bar.Friendly and helpful as well as knowledgeable staff. The Guinness in here is always exceptional.
Prices on par with most city centre bars but with a much more relaxed atmosphere.

Popped in for lunch on a weekday. I've been before and was quite impressed the first time. It's a year later and not much has changed. Just a handful of customers. Music loud, food pricey, drinks pricier. They try hard, pleasant bar staff but for all their effort no atmosphere. Back to the drawing board, something needs to change.

Called in for a quick pint and thoroughly enjoyed the place. Good selection of beers which were reasonably priced. Whilst I didn't get to sample any food from the menu, the choice looked very appetising, so much so I will be going back to give it a try. Still as good as ever.

Nice bar, a little expensive but generally had a pleasant experience there. Was watching the one love concert there and it felt a very together atmosphere. Could do with a few more ciders on draft. Service was very good and the barman that served me was very knowledgeable.

Average sort of bar but in a handy location close to Piccadilly station.
