It’s a really cute place, nice experience and I had a blast with my partner playing the board games before the movie. On the other hand, the food quality was really bad for us, popcorn really bad and not lot of options which made the experience not as good, but other than that I’ll recommend it

Theater was super hot, my seat was broken and leaned back until it hit the wall, so I had to strain my neck to watch the movie, and it felt like the seats were made of a rough carpet material that was super itchy. Not worth the price

seats are extremely filthy . don’t believe me? use you phones light before seating down. looks like they have never cleaned the cloth since the opening of the theater. pop corn was tasteless. $17 for a small coke and small popcorn is crazy.

Seats are uncomfortable and very dirty looking. Place could use more signs when getting off of elevator. Not easy to find had to look at a map to get there. Bathrooms were clean and concessions was good.

The sound and theater itself is nice. But I don't like their policy of having to sit next to random people when you choose seats. I was stuck next to a guy who brought a flask with him and reeked of alcohol for a 4 hour movie because I couldn't buy myself a spot with a buffer from other people. Sucks for the solo movie goer. Will definitely not come back if I can help it.

Would suggest bringing a blanket, although they do sell them for $14. We had a great time, we went to the late show and I didn't realize there were age limits based on movie times, but as long as your kids are accompanied, you're good. Headsets are a great way to be able to control your own volume, and it was a really unique and awesome experience. Will be coming back!

Amazing, cool space to watch indie and underground films... even some anime, if into that genre!! However, a dope place to experience films you wouldn't normally see

Such a fun environment to hang out before the movie! The screen is big enough to see from the back and the chairs are very comfortable. Love that they give you headphones so you don’t have issues hearing the movie. Would 100% come back to see another movie!

They have a fun staff and really are very helpful. They made going to the movies smooth. And no lines, except for snacks of course. But even those moved quickly. Great place for the family or a quick getaway.

Average theater in a dead shopping center. Seats were clean. Purchased tickets inside with customer service staff member on the right hand side upon entering. Concessions was well-staffed as I’m sure the mark-up on those items is what helps keep this place afloat. We were served with a smile. Movie viewing quality and sound quality were all good. Bathrooms were clean.

Nice theater for great films. Intimate and personal. Great place for a Q and A after a film

Nice seats 💺 good quality screens cool air conditioning nice environment

So glad this popped up somewhere in my search results. My husband wanted to watch Crazy Rich Asians and I am so glad it so happened to play here! We went on a Thursday night, so it wasn’t busy at all. We found parking (they validate!). First ones to get there right when they open (an hour before the movie starts). We bought the seat partner chair w/ popcorn tickets and they were comfortable. Like the other reviews, very advisable to wear extra layers and bring a blanket because it got super chilly at night.
Bartender made some good drinks and we shared good laughs and conversation, as he welcomed my husband and I to our first ever time here in SD. I forgot his name, but definitely tip your bartenders.
Overall, the staff were friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back again!!

Good staff and I like the bar. Totally need to upgrade the seats and maybe add 4DX to attract more cinema fans! Also need to reinforce better sound isolation, you can hear the auditoriums to the sides.

EPIC NIGHT OUT!!!I haven't had this much fun watching a movie in a minute. Spectacular views, the skyscraper background is hard to beat. The weather was fantastic and the entire atmosphere was perfect. Lights strung all over and super chill vibe once you enter the tennis court on the fourth floor of the hotel. They have seating everywhere and a full bar with some of the friendliest staff working the whole event. Popcorn is freshly made and tastes great! Seating is first come, first served. Seats are also very comfortable and padded nicely. We were there to see Pulp Fiction, which they had a costume contest, twist contest, and trivia questions for prizes!!! Overall EPIC night out!!!

Amazing theaters food and service! especially the New 4DX theater 12!! They also have great rewards promotions and special bonuses!

Overall, we had a great time. Weather was a bit misty, but they provided ponchos and it honestly wasn't too bad. The doors opened a few minutes earlier than advertised, and there were plenty of seats. The drinks and snacks were fairly pricey, but it's downtown so I guess that checks. The movie quality was awesome, no co.plaints in that department. We saw "the Dark Knight" and it was an awesome place to watch, definitely a cool experience.
The only real bummer was the popcorn. Despite them making it right before our eyes, it somehow came out extremely stale. It wasn't pleasant to eat, and we were definitely looking forward to popcorn with our movie.

Awesome venue for 3X experience of the Aespa Hyperline Concert film! Very comfortable rocking chairs as well 🫶

Opening with special screenings of Charlton Heston movies on December 11, 1995. The first new movie was “Jumanji” on December 15, 1995, this theatre was the largest in San Diego at the time. Theatre is built on stilts above the parking structure below. It opened with twenty Strong projectors and Strong platters, all projectors with SDDS, some DTS and Dolby Digital as well.
This theatre was AMC’s first with stadium seating in San Diego. This mammoth ushered in the era of the megaplex to San Diego. Great location in the heart of San Diego.

Overall a cool place very unique experience. Screen could be bigger and blankets were expensive on cold night if you didn’t bring your own. Nice drink choices but bit expensive. Good popcorn and nice helpful staff

My wife and I came from Boston, and this was one of the experiences that we did. We came when outside was sunny, but it didn’t affect watching the movie. The rooftop set was very nice, with artificial turf, comfortable seating, and a view of the city. After the movie, because we were on a rooftop, there were sports activities as well, such as tennis and basketball, so we stuck around to try those out. I will definitely do this again! Some things to note: it gets chilly up there, so definitely bring blankets. Trying to find the rooftop cinema experience from within the hotel is like going through a maze, so I would account for that.

Great venue, showing films that are rarely available anywhere else.

My daughter and I went to see Article 20 an excellent movie🍫🍿🎬💯🍕🎥🍿🌍🍭

Theater 4 was so dirty. Soda / food stains all over the seats, cup holders were dirty, floor looked like it hadn't been swept in weeks! I felt very uncomfortable, even my skin was itching after sitting in the seats. I couldn't relax and enjoy the movie that I paid $22 to see! The staff was nice but I will never go back to this theater.

I enjoy stopping by this little museum. Right now they have some interesting artwork from local high school students as well as James Balog. I liked Balog's endangered species works, especially, "Man and Ape" as well as the Panda photo shoot. Follow me for more reviews!

Love this theater! Small but intimate. Love the conversations I could have after watching a movie here.
It's also where they screen films from students in their film programs here as well.

It is a go-to for Bollywood movies in San Diego. Seats are comfy, popcorn's tasty. It's clean, and the folks working there are friendly. Plus, they show other international films, which is cool. They've got a good movie selection, and everything looks and sounds good. Overall, a solid spot for a movie night.

one of the highest quality theaters i’ve ever been to. the digital projection and the dolby surround is unreal. I would see every movie here if it was possible.

Full disclosure, I’m an analog photographer who not only teaches and exhibits my personal work regularly, but still prints exclusively by hand, in a darkroom (across the country in NYC). And is a huge photo history nerd.
Thus, I always visit MoPA when I’m in town (was in the area after teaching a brief experimental photograms workshop in Escondido last week). So glad they’re still around (#filmisnotdead) ❤️🙏
Here are a couple unedited cell shots I took while there.

Adorable little cinema located in a great spot in East Village. I went for the first time to see a screening of Dario Argento's 1975 Deep Red. Their film selection is wonderful and I regret not getting the chance to visit them at their North Park location before it closed down, but I am very grateful they were able to reopen in such a great spot downtown!! I'd recommend keeping an eye on their instagram page and joining their mailing list to get updates on screening announcements. You can also call their phone number to get a recorded list of all their upcoming screening dates and times.
I wasn't sure what to expect so I showed up 20 minutes early and had booked my ticket online in advance which I recommend as it is much easier to check in and guarantees you a seat. The theater itself is cute and clean, and seats maybe 60 people at maximum capacity which is why I recommend booking in advance. The actual seats themselves were also comfortable and the theater had a good amount of reserved handicap seating and wide aisles and ramps. You can lean back to recline the seats and also move the arm rests (which have drink holders) up and down. I was impressed with the sound quality for it being located in a quasi-capsule on the second story of the large, echoey UCSD Park & Market building. There was a jazz ensemble performing on the first floor during the screening that could be veeeeery faintly heard during very quiet parts of the film but I feel that it added to the ambiance of the theater. Everything started very promptly and efficiently as well.
Getting there was also straightforward. It is located right by the Park & Market trolley/bus stop, and is a few blocks south of the Park & Broadway trolley/bust stop near the City College campus. By car, you can access the theater via the garage and take the elevator to the second floor. When I was there, the attendant was very helpful and showed me how to access the building by foot because I admittedly was a bit lost at first which was my fault. On foot, you enter through the main glass doors on Market and head up the spiral staircase to the right, or use the elevators (which I did not use on my first trip). The stairs were a bit odd to navigate as they started out wide and low but then got progressively more shallow and narrow as I got to the top, so I recommend taking the elevator if that is an issue for you. There is a great view at the top that I recommend checking out if you arrive early to your screening.
The service at concessions was great and prices were reasonable and the selection of beverages and snacks was pretty good. I believe members get some discounts on tickets and concessions which is nice. There was a small gallery at the top of the stairs overlooking streets Park and Market and the concessions is located a bit behind the top of the stairs to the left. There is also a bar as well as a small restaurant located on the first floor if you are interested in arriving early or lingering a bit afterwards, but alcoholic beverages purchased at concession must be consumed before you go downstairs.
I've already booked tickets for a few more screenings this month and am excited to return. I'm hoping to become a member soon as well!

Nice floor flow. Wonderful experience
Great having the Sony World Photography Awards for the first time in the USA, and in this venue. Hoped for more promotion.

Beautiful pieces of art from all over the world of different subjects. Some were done during lockdown so that made the photographers look outside the box on how to take photos. And you can take photos of the mounted pictures.

A great photography museum. The Sony World Photo Awards were on display here when I visited but I can tell that this is the kind of museum I'd visit over and over again, to take in each new event.

Great new space for this awesome organization!
Super excited to visit and for the availability of parking!
Saw Tar here tonight. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the seats are very comfy - not the "Easy chairs" you'll find at more expensive theaters, but they rock and the theatre is intimate just like the previous space. Great t8me tonight!

Tons and tons of parking, but it does get quite packed. The theater is absolutely massive, and each theater room is quite spacious. While the lobby can get littered with popcorn, the rooms are very clean, including inside the cupholders. Even on weekdays, there can be quite a lot of people, and the lines for the food get packed.

We went here for a homework assignment and brought the kiddos. The museum was great and had a fun activity for the little ones to do while we looked through the photos. Their exhibits were very interesting and we spent about an hour there. Definitely entertaining and the staff was great!

I walked in unexpectedly and were immediately welcomed by very friendly staff. So I decided to take a look. It is a small museum but exhibits many outstanding photos. I am fascinated by the method of photographing animals and humans from the same spot; and see how they turn out as a combination.

This photography gallery has free admission, but donations are highly recommended. I was amazed by the exhibition of the children's photography. Ther is a great future ahead of them. In addition, more interesting exhibits are on display. The museum also has a bookstore. Highly recommend visiting.

Can always count on Digital Gym to show great indie films so close to home. They carry good drinks and snacks (ahem, lavender soda) and for a few days straight they played Archie Hammer's awkward dance scene from CMBYN on their small TV in the gift shop. So. Yeah. Awesome theater. Patronize them.
