Lady at the front desk so rude honestly treats people with no respect
Useless, heartless and purposely do nothing staff works here. It’s a dead end to avoid at all costs. Edita, Kelly and the reat of the staff do hate their job so they find relief to out all their anger and hatred to parents who ask politely to review their issues
Muy mala la persona que atiende al público muy mala
Nice architecture
christian that runs the specialized high school exam is awesome and hard working !
They don't respond to emails, horrible in person experience.
I graduated with a Associates and Bachelor in Business Management. I really enjoyed my time taking courses at Suny
Two of the best years of my life. Top notch profs and students. Perfect combination of collaborative and competitive. One of the greatest business schools in the greatest city.
An elegant and modern building, thoroughly chic. A world-class business school in the most commercially important city in the world deserves such a majestic, glassy structure. But I wish that the humanities departments at Columbia were treated half as well.
Top notch facilities and future design make this my new favorite study/work spot on campus. Still curious why there is a labyrinth of lockers on the basement level. How many people really use these buildings and the lockers?
Amazing design that is so bright and clean - almost everything is ivory / white. Plus you never know who the professor might bring to class…

The students are amazing! They can be hard sometimes but it's worth it. A lot of the older staff are rude, act entitled, and exhibits a lot of discriminatory practices (KS). A ton of new staff would stay if the issue was addressed. Administration has a lot of work to do before they can call themselves an antiracist school. Hopefully they can get there one day.

The staff doesn't seem happy; they appear to put on their best smile and try to be cordial but the environment/ atmosphere feels very strained and/or toxic. The pay rate seems concerning (especially for this line of work which requires a degree or more plus several years of experience). The children are amazing and are welcoming; it's seems like a great place especially for 2E kids (until they grow out of the environment).

I agree that the idea and principles of the school are amazing and you'll fall in love with the students. They are the best part of the job. They will have you laughing and leave you with a million memories. But, I also have to agree with the previous review from "Hill". It's a little concerning that administration knows about those things about said staff member and haven't done anything. It's a shame that we now live in a world where it's ok to have a toxic and racist individual teaching students because you don't want to be more understaffed. Food for thought: more people would want to work here and stay if you improve the environment.
Just be careful with the advisors/mentors. My mentor isn’t bad but my friend has a mentor that is completely useless. She showed up to their meeting almost 30 mins late and only came because my friend had to remind her about it. And on top of that she wasn’t listening to a word he was saying, he’s going for a concentration in computer science yet the lady had no idea about what classes he needed to take (Did not come prepared). Kept pushing him to take an educational class instead of his very first intro to computer programming class after he stated he could only take one class a semester. Mind you this guy already has 2 degrees and yet she’s pushing the Gen Ed’s. He can’t take any of the other computer science courses without taking this intro to programming course. Very very useless indeed. Check your own transcripts and curriculums, don’t rely on the mentors/advisors.
Building looks good but Columbia rushed too much to finish it up. So, they still do small fixed here and there. Ya don’t know that because those contractors usually come to the building at night and do the night work. It is good school i know however, a big concern about student safety because it is right there at harlem
DO NOT THINK TWICE TO CONSIDER THIS SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On March 24th, 2022 At approximately 2:50 PM. I was entering the building with my daughter. Manhattan Star Academy was hosting an open house. For potential children to attend the academy in the near future. As soon as I walked into the building with my daughter. Phyllis Platin who is in the admissions department. Welcomed my daughter and I VERY unprofessionally l. Stating that NO children are allowed. NOT once in the admissions EMAIL was stated that no children are not allowed. Phyllis Platin said I will only make one exception to have my daughter wear a mask. HERE IS THE ISSUE MY CHILD IS A CHILD WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. SHE HAS SENSORY ISSUES ON HER FACE AND HAS A MEDICAL PROBLEM. THAT HER OXYGEN GOES LOW IF ANYTHING IS COVERING HER FACE. When I explained this to Phyllis Platin, She COMPLETELY IGNORED AND DISMISSED MY CHILD'S MEDICAL CONDITION. My daughter was the child I WAS HOPING that would attend Manhattan Star Academy. I THOUGHT THIS SCHOOL WOULD ACTUALLY HELP MY DAUGHTER WITH HER NEEDS.

I exit the building and called the Academy immediately. I explained the situation. A very nice gentlemen over the phone said my daughter can get a Covid-19 Rapid test, and we can attend the open house. When the nurse completed the test, Phyllis Platin comes out the elevator and her face is in shock. Phyllis Platin nodds her head and said "Arianna. I Said NO". I said "the gentlemen that I spoke to over the phone said that my daughter and can get a covid-19 rapid test. If my daughter test negative she can go in." Phyllis Platin response was "WHO SAID THAT????" With so much AUTHORITY like if she's the DIRECTOR OF MANHATTAN STAR ACADEMY. We began back and forth. I gave her attitude and I immediately left the building.

COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS HAVE BEEN LIFTED!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS WHOLE COVID-19 ISSUE IS OLD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET'S GET BACK TO THE PROGRAM!!!!!!!!!!
From the moment Phyllis Platin denied access to my daughter and I from attending the open house. I asked Phyllis Platin, "If my daughter goes to this school in the near future, does she have to have her mask on?" Phyllis Platin said NO!!!!!! WHAT SENSE DOES THAT MAKE.

IM GLAD THIS HAPPEN. IF THIS IS THE TREATMENT AND THE ATTITUDE MANHATTAN STAR ACADEMY IS WELCOMING, FOR SOMEONE LIKE MYSELF THAT WAS INTERESTED IN HAVING MY CHILD TO ATTEND THIS SCHOOL MY ANSWER IS NO!!!!! THIS IS BIG TIME CHILD DISCRIMINATION, MEDICAL AND DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not a student but have been watching the business school campus emerge over the years and love seeing the outcome. Standing outside this building near the central circle shows how beautifully the architecture compliments the surrounding, from the arches of the Harlem River Drive viaduct to the elevated tracks and the Prentis building on 125th street.
Outstanding Staff and Curriculum

My son is on the spectrum and is highly intelligent but deals with some social emotional outbursts. While the behavioral issues are infrequent, they can be intense and no other school that I know of can deal on a clinical and emotionally sensitive way better than MSA. They take the time to collect data on behaviors and thoughtfully come up with a plan to address the issue effectively. The small classes and highly trained teachers are adept at finding solutions to everyday challenges these children face. My son loves this school and rushes me every morning to go early because he doesn't want to miss anything. I can't thank the school enough for creating such a wonderful and supporting environment where my son is allowed to be himself and to love learning. Thank you MSA!
Manhattan Star Academy is an individualized program providing and supporting each student with goals and experiences based on their specific needs and interests. MSA is a caring and nurturing environment with staff that collaborate on a daily basis to support all of the students. The love that all teachers, paras, therapists, and administration have for each of the students is contagious!
Manhattan Star Academy is a nurturing environment that fosters independence, functional skills, academic achievement, and social-emotional growth within its students. Manhattan Star Academy provides its learners with small classroom sizes, high staff ratio, Speech, Occupational, Physical Therapy. In addition, we offer Adapted Physical Education, Music, Dance, and Art Therapy for our learners. As school community we pride ourselves in collaborating closely with families as well as outside providers that support our students. Manhattan Star Academy is the ideal learning environment for students with global and developmental delays to grow and develop their individuality.
Manhattan Star Academy is a wonderful private school located near Lincoln Center that provides an individualized program for each student. MSA provides an array of related services, including speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and counseling, as well as adapted physical education, dance, music and art therapy. Students at MSA learn functional as well as academic skills, and the staff is extremely caring, supportive and team-oriented.
after being assured on a phone my son is a good fit and accepting $50 app fee, Martina Remy rejected my son with "unfortunately we can only put you on a waiting list". 6 months later they got back to me asking for $50 again. What a disgrace to extort money from desperate parents.
Manhattan Star 🌟 Academy is a school for students with a wide range of functional and learning disabilities such as global developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, speech and language delays and neurodevelopmental disabilities. The school offers small class sizes (8-10 students), individualized curriculum (STEAM), Occupational therapy, Physical therapy, Speech therapy, Counseling, Vision, APE ( adaptive physical education), music and yoga among others. Students currently in the program are aged 5-13 but the charter allows students up to age 21. The school is in two locations on Amsterdam (150 and 180) near Lincoln Square. Each location has an RN on staff full-time.
One of the best business schools in the world located in one of the greatest, most diverse cities on the planet. Top notch faculty, bright, passionate students, and a beautiful campus. A truly wonderful institution!
MSA has been an incredible gift in our lives. Our son (who is 8 and has cerebral palsy) has really blossomed over the past 2 years at the school. The teachers are very qualified and the 8:1 classroom size allows for the personal space and time needed for his growth. We have really also lucked out with the The therapists have been all around GREAT and the facilities are very conducive for learning, socializing, and growing. The staff (from Rae, the principal, Kevin the VP, the social workers, the nurse) have all been incredibly supportive partners in this journey. Thankful for the role they have played in our lives the past two years and would highly recommend.

The idea and principles of this school are amazing, however when it comes to executing what they are saying is far from it. So simply " they dont practice what they preach" . I am not sure if the people who are rating the school are the parents or the teachers, however this school doesnt deserve 5 stars, not when they are getting paid 6 figures per child! Not worth it!
Terrible experience
Хорошая частная школа для особенных людей
Terrible, it has taken me forever to obtain my associates degree and on top of all that, I'am fighting to graduate. I have passed all of my classes and worked my ass off even though I was deployed and my internet access was limited and crappie. But now these so called board memebers are reviewing my rationale paper to see if I can even get my degree now. I have never had an issue with a college before and I have been to a lot since I move around a lot. Avoid this COLLEGE like the plague!!! This college took my money and the Army's money and now I may not even get my degree that I have worked so hard to get. All because this college believes that grades are not good enough I have to also write another paper that has nothing to do with my classes or college. Terrible school and a waste of time DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Rebecca school is a really good school, (sorry the name I'm using my Daughters MacBook) it has a really good educational sistem. My daughter,Amy, LOVES this school. He says to me everyday: " Mom if I ever need to change school, I want to stay in another Rebecca school." She also says recess there is amazing. She has tons of friends, and looks forward to have new ones. When I go get my daughter, she's different. She looks smarter and more intelectual. Well, my point is, if you want a school or a new school to your son or daughter, choose Rebecca school. I'm putting my son there when he makes 4. I recommend! 5 Stars for Rebecca school!!

I earned my BA degree from ESC. I loved my mentor and I had excellent professor who all ways genuinely wanted to help. I was a hybrid student, meaning I took classes both in person and online. I don't have anything bad to say. It was enjoyable. I only wish I could earn my masters degree there too.

Rebecca School is a great school with a special education focus especially with those with kids on the autism spectrum. The staff is incredible under great leadership. I always have a heartwarming experience whenever I visit Rebecca School. The staff clearly loves working with the kids and there is no better school in NYC using the DIR Model there right now in my opinion. If you have a child on the spectrum, I recommend you go take a tour. What they do is truly amazing.
