Great place to spend the day. Off grid. But still with connection to the world.

RAD techs accreditation matters! LAGCC radiology program doesn’t have JRCERT accreditation; which ensures you’ll be eligible for licensure in each state.I peeped this after I transferred in and did two sessions. HostosCC & BronxCC do have it.City tech has it too and offers an A.A.S. as well.I struggle with math; I tried to do the math. It was hard.I hated taking a class where I didn’t see the application to degree work. HostosCC math for RadTechs is-Mathematics for Allied Health.I read the syllabus and it’s what it should be for this program. With me struggling, the one time that I scheduled a math tutoring, I was stood up.No one showed up, didn’t even get a cancellation email.I travelled for nothing and didn’t get the help I needed. Classmate theorized it was because it was a summer session; the computer just automatically accept an appointment and when there'd be no service. Administrative faculties are professional, and organized tho. Never had a problem with them losing any of my documentations unlike BMCC, or a private school I went to. Professors were good enough. They know their stuff, yet their teaching was sort of mid. If it wasn’t for specific accreditation issue to this program, I would add a star to my review.Either way now looking to move on.
Academic advisor named Carole is a racist. She is extremely rude and even doesn’t know what the problem is with her words. Only one advisor for intl students. But the they have a lot of amazing professors
Just sad when a "free" nation decides that recidivism solely rests on education. But that logic is flawed as there is no point to provide education programs if felons cannot get jobs upon release. They cannot even exercise their basic right to vote. The politicians are afraid that they would have to be held accountable by a system that is designed to hold other persons accountable for their actions. Lmfaoooo.
An excellent community college. Most professor I have encountered, are very helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. The campus itself is nice, spacious and well kept. There’s paid parking on campus and plenty of free street parking in the surrounding blocks around. They also have a good food/drink selection at the cafeteria.
I took the ESL course at this college and I really loved it. I miss classes, the teachers were great and the course was very complete. I made friends from all over the world, the experience went far beyond an English course.
I would like to express my gratitude to Daniel. from the admission service . very professional employee. this is a gold man. he just has incredible patience and love for people and for business. Laguardia College can be proud to have such a wonderful person working in it)
An amazing college for students just starting out. You're definitely getting your money's worth coming to this school with professors that truly care and try to help you as much as possible (granted you checked their reputation with Rate My Professor).
For those wondering "why someone would put a school near a bunch of prisons"...it's FOR the prisoners. High school-age "kids" who are in prison but still need access to education (which of course will help reduce recidivism rates). Also for young adults, maybe they are getting their GEDs or in other programs to further their education, so when they get out they can be a PRODUCTIVE part of society.
Lack of organization, communication and guidance from staff as a whole. Very difficult to be successful in applying and starting when staff lacks communication as a whole. It feels like a run around trying to get direct guidance to enroll into classes and make sure you have everything turned in.

Don’t trust your student advisor, ESPECIALLY if you are applying Nursing/PTA/OTA/Vet tech. They purposely mess up your schedule after you set it up so you stay longer than you’re supposed to. This wasn’t a one time instance, it has happened the WHOLE time I was there, I’d have to always fix my schedule to the times I previously signed up for. None of the classes got full that I couldn’t take it, I set up my respective payment plan before the semester and always applied early.

Free Tibet (offer available while supplies last)
It is really helpful for new immigrants for all ages. Most professors are kind and knowledgeable and love to help you and answer your questions. Online classes are available for people who are adults or need to work full time.
This college is designed to fail the students pursuing for Nursing because you can not qualify for Nursing program unless you get grade A for all the pre-Req classes and it is almost impossible for people like me, who does work and school to get an A’s. Especially for BIO classes because almost all the SCB203 professors are working very hard to not give you A and they just don’t care about what the heck happens to you and your future. This school rewards the Professors, who works hard to fail or give low grades to the students, especially Nursing SCB classes. Save your life and future and apply to another school.

The Continuing Ed Department has been, and continues to be, a great resource for many community members. It has started in-person personal development classes; swimming, tennis. They've been offering virtual job development classes during the pandemic. The hope is that other in person classes will come back next term.

The teachers were great when I was there for my little vacation
My son had difficult fall 2021 semester. After contacting the college was answered by intelligent warm caring people from the bursars office to registrar office. Took the time to guide him through the trouble and now the spring semester looks promising ! Ty Josie Palmer Michele Mcloughlin Mary O’Gara and Joy ( sorry about not knowing your last name ) . With the difficult times we have been facing it’s nice to know that there are people who took the time to help and show my son support to receive and continue his education
Studied and had the opportunity to also work there for over 10 years in the Library-Reserve Area, then the IRS Instructional Resources Center computer area. Loved it. The Campus is beautiful. The staff and professors were great. To this day I still miss those days. 🙏🤗🤗🙏
I would recommend all new freshmen to go to rate my professor on Google and type their name when you're registering for classes so you won't waste your money on a bad professor. The school lunch is quite expensive, I would recommend buying from a store and it taste better as well. The area is pretty great. Some professor would really want you to pass, go to their office hours or tutoring, this would help a lot. There are students who still treats this campus like high school and they end up dropping the class within 3 weeks. Don't study in the library, it's always noise there. You can make friends but that's for like 4 months unless you guys have the same classes. Make sure, by all means to do all your homework as soon as possible. The amount of free time you get in college is a curse because students struggled to manage their time correctly, same with exams. If you want to graduate within 2 years, you can't fail or drop a class. Best of luck to you all.
QCC is a great college. Staff and professors are so professional and knowledgeable. I love Queensborough Community College! 🥰😘😍❤
QCC is hosting The New York Wind Ensemble's concert and the acoustics are good with a wide stage area. Auditorium is clean and has a balcony.
