Nice campus. Lots of art work to admire
Teachers (Yes, more than one) have been constancy picking on many students, for no given reason. Instead of taking to them like adults, they just pick on them like school bullies. Not just that, the students have been given the teacher work and not given them any grades. I'm about to leave this school year so... Peace!!
Graduated in 1993 even though we had some issues, school always good certain people give it a bad name, I appreciate Erasmus for my education I went to class I learned and carried the knowledge deeper. Erasmus always have a special place in my heart.

Nice park and sculpture Garden. It has lovely trees in the summer. God place to read a book
I was the Assistant Principal of Music and Cine Arts for 7 years until I retired in 2001. I first became a member of the faculty in 1966.
Midwood had and has the finest students and faculty. This person Charles is a bitter person with no knowledge of the greatness of Midwood High School. He is slanderous and tells hugely vicious falsehoods. Shame on him.
This school is not that good if you want your kids to come here save your time somewhere else. The rules here are unfair. There is harsh grading and bad teachers. I would know I go to this school and more than half of my teacher are lazy and unprofessional. Some don't even plan a lesson. They take their time to do whatever. I have spent more time doing hw than learning anything. The grading system for this school is awful especially for math if your child is a slow test taker or a bad test taker then don't come here. Your entire average for all math subjects depends on your test grade. So basically if you don't participate it's doesn't affect your grade at all. However if you miss a single hw It can lower your grade by at least 5-10 percent. This school prides itself in being the "best" but it's really nothing special. These teachers aren't here for your child's interest or to shape the mind of their students they are just here for their pay check that's it. Some teachers just have no interest at all if your child fails or passes. Believe me you can get the same opportunities in another school. The school is also just too crowded, there is way too much people that go there. So much in fact that for the first 3 weeks of school some kids couldn't sit in my Spanish class cause the room ran out of chairs. And since there is so many kids it's hard to get to your next class in time, you have to go through at least 1000 other kids to your next class within 4 minutes. And once your finally in class let's say a minute later or less. The teacher complains. Like that's so unfair. This school is not that good if you want your kids to come here save your time somewhere else. The rules here are unfair. There is harsh grading and bad teachers. Oh and let's hope you get lucky and end early because let's not forget the amount of hw teachers would like to give you instead of actually giving you a lesson. My U.S. history teacher assigns us to read pages from a text book for hw. But what do we do in class? Let me answer that not a single thing just "group work" everyday it's group work basically she gives us a worksheet to fill out we talk a little and then nothing it's basically a free period. Now let me ask you this. If I'm not learning anything or if I have to depend on my text book then why do I need to go to class? Or If I'm not doing anything in class then how am I gonna pass my U.S. history regents? These are my questions. My concerns. There is so much more wrong with this school but I'm not going to say more. Just warning people. This school is a joke. The teachers are lazy.

Schools literally the "perfect mess". Anyone that went there the past 10 years or so and says anything different is lying. Regardless if you're an athlete, nerd, "misfit" etc...this schools amazing. Yes, some wack teachers, Ms Berman is a meth head (did she get fired yet?) but they all added to the amazing unique experience that made this the best HS in NYC.

Nice place. I had some good teachers but there were also bad ones. No matter where you are there will be people you dont like but you just have to make the most of it.
This school has been around for years. Eramus Hall High has educated many African Americans predominantly because it is located in an African American neighbourhood. Eramus Hall use to be mentioned with the elite. This school is still in the leagues of great high schools but it takes work. The first step is to stop the negativity and create solutions. If you see a problem, show up to the table with a solution. Progress requires growth which means putting in work. A school without the support of the neighborhood will become a failing school, i.e. Exhibit A. There's work to do so lets begin. #GoForthTriumphantly

Too many students.
Great environment. Have friends from specialized schools who regret not going to Midwood. A lot of outside life, we have every team top division and a lot of chips. great school for any type of student.

As an SSA assigned to the mobile task force, I Had to respond to numerous 10-85s(co workers calling for help) and 10-39s (fights) from the years of 2010 to 2014 at this location. It seems as thought the zoned kids who go to this school are the ones primarily responsible for these problems but hey it is what it is and I call it like I see it. A few times that I was assigned to cover for someone else who was out it was pure hell and I dreaded my entire time there. The kids are split into two different cliche with many falling in between. omg it's just hell
I WENT TO ERASMUS FROM 1943 -1947. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.
I WAS A MEMBER OF THE LEADER'S CLUB & WAS NAMED "GIRL ATHLETE" IN MY SR. YEAR. WHAT AN HONOR, AS I EXCELLED IN 4 SPORTS. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN.
AFTER GRADUATION & THE WONDERFUL ADVICE FROM MY ADVISOR MRS. HALPIN. I WENT TO 3 YEARS OF NURSING SCHOOL. ERASMUS GAVE ME GREAT PRINCPALS TO GEAR MY LIFE WITH & THEY STUCK. I WAS A NURSE FOR 50 YEARS . RETIRED IN 1997. HAVE LIVED I N CALIFORNIA FOR THE PAST 54 YEARS. LOVE IT HERE IN VENTURA.BY THE SEA.
Before it became what it is now, when I attended back in the late 70's it was all one school. They had alot of pride about their sports teams. We even had a fencing team. Several of my old neighbors growing up also attended, some I use to take the school bus with and one of my future brother in laws.Back then, the guidence councilers cared and one teacher who tried to encourage me to"stay in school". I dropped out, joined the army and completed a 22 year career while in.I now live out of NYC and only visit once a year but Erasmus Hall will always be"my school..
