Top Performing arts theaters in Old Town, Czech Republic

Totally recommend. We saw the best of IMAGE show. It's something for all ages und different to any dance show I have seen so far. Very impressive.

We went to see Afrikania. It was our first black light theater experience. For me, I enjoyed the dance performance but not the acting nor the jokes - they’re lame, boring and don’t connect with the dance performance. Our 9 year old really enjoyed the show tho but that’s probably because she didn’t understand the lame jokes so it didn’t affect her experience.

I loved it ! We had a lot of fun! I believe that they are not well known enough. We watched the Best of Image. They managed to balance humor with delightfullness. Amazing ! I'll always recommend for those that love humor and an amazing light show !

I feel like I just had a fever dream on acid whilst watching the 3 Stooges. That is literally the best way I can describe this. Kind of odd at times, but I'm into it. Weird in a fun and interesting way.

I have to be honest that this show did not meet my expectations. I usually avoid writing bad reviews but this is definitely a tourist trap and I had to share my experience. I gave the two stars because I believe a lot of energy and time was invested in this, nevertheless the show is very outdated, this includes the idea (which you don’t really understand, not at all), the venue, the technology and the music. Only go if you have time and money to waste, or if you are under the age of 10.

My 8 years old daughter and I loved the show. My daughter speaks only English, and I wanted her to experience theater in Prague. I highly recommend this show. It was amazing!

We booked the tickets for the "Best of"-show before reading the comments here and are glad about it. Otherwise, maybe we wouldn't have visited this great performance. We absolutely recommend it for people of all ages who like to take a quick pause from the stressful world and enjoy a good laughter/ like to gaze upon the light tricks. :)

it was a terrible experience. probably it was nice when it started, however, after having watched the "WoW" performance i really regretted the cost of money and time. No story, no sequence, no performance by the actors, no synchronization during dancing, music was disturbingly loud and irrelevant, Stage and constumes like it was made by kindergarden chldren. It felt like a rob-the-tourists who have heard about the show, just to take the money and offer nothing. One star just to be able to write the comments, otherwise 0 stars.

Great for families. The show was unusual where the black light theatre takes you on a journey through a lighting experience. Good interaction with balloons and spiders but you must sit in the middle for this.

I do not recommend this theatre. Reasons are bad acoustics and unfriendly polices towards the visitors. Details:
The place does not have appropriate acoustic (perhaps because originally the place was a cinema). So the actors' voices are amplified with all kinds of distortions ranging from noticable to annoying.
Also, the theatre does not allow for exchanging the tickets - unlike many other Prague theatres - despite there is no loss for the theatre due to the ticket exchange.

Booked tickets in the afternoon, after seeing a review on a different website about quirky things to do in prague! Best decision, show was fantastic, very interesting, interactive, costumes and light effects were great! Would recommend to anyone wishing to do something abit different whilst in prague, family friendly too! Easy to find and staff were lovely. It is a free for all seating so make sure you turn up on time if you like to sit centre.

Im sorry I never comment on anything but it felt like I had to. We went to the WOW show and do never go. 20€ for a very mediocre show. The dancers are obv no dancers. The technique is bad the synchrony is even worse. No real scenario, not the best music and nothing about the black and light play was impressive. Honestly disappointed and wouldn’t recommend.

Unfortunately not a show for adults. It’s a great experience for any parents that have kids in this ballet, but it’s definitely not something to pay for and not a professional performance. The kids did great, but wouldn’t recommend this while visiting Prague.

Broadway Theatre, Prague/The Nutcracker/Dec 23

Don't waste your money. This performance will put you off ballet for life, if it your first time.

No panache about the theater. Was handed a hand written paper slip as verified ticket for entry. They were just herding in unsuspecting tourists to the slaughter!

The bar takes only cash, so you can't even drown the pain you are about to be inflicted in cheap beer or wine they serve, if you rely on digital means to pay for things.

The production was awful with poor set and lighting. Music and dance was poorly synced and painful to watch. The dancers, most of them, appeared to have just been pulled off the street that night to perform. It was not Ballet!! The dancers had their wigs falling off and costumes falling apart at very compromising parts. A couple of dancers were good, but they were in minor roles. The lead characters were awful to watch. It was more like a first year dance college performance, when the dancers had just started to learn. What a scam! And waste of money & time. I wanted to introduce one of my daughters to the joy of ballet, but unfortunately, it might now be hard to convince her to see another performance. What a travesty!

This company, I guess, only survives because of the tourists in a city like Prague.

Thoroughly enjoyed the opera here. Our box had fantastic view. Would have liked to take our drinks with us to our box, but not allowed to apparently?! Had to leave them in the bar fridge to finish during intermission.

The estates theatre is really beautiful with shades of blue. I was watching a drama and bought a seat in the upper gallery, then the staff gave me an upgrade seat in front of the stage. It was a very pleasant experience.

The photos of the theater speak for themselves so there is no need to comment on its aesthetics. I will focus on the opera we watched (Magic Flute - W.A.Mozart). The previous years we've watched the same Opera in Zurich and Vienna but this was by far richer and more elaborate production compared to the previous two of course. So the quality is really really high. The nodding between the director and first cello after the queen's aria was indicative of their appreciation of the performance.
There is a spatial limitation due to the width of the stage that impacts the size of the orchestra resulting in fewer instruments and the total absence of drums. To be fair though, the acoustics of the theater is breathtaking rendering any complaint mute.
I do have to mention the beautiful people working in all the areas of the theater elevating the experience over all. Almost all speak excellent English and they assist you with a huge smile.

I raced to get there over cobblestones cause I could not find a cab. I was just a couple of minutes late. I could barely catch my breath and move. I had asked deliberately for a seat that didn't require stairs because I'm older and in pain.
They would not seat me and instead made me go up to the very top upper balcony and stand for an hour and a 1/2 until the intermission.
2 nights prior I went to the state opera where they were gracious and a couple of people who had arrived late were shown to their seats like human beings to sit and enjoy the show they paid for.

Excellent show. We loved the interaction with the crowd.
From a musician's perspective the fusion elements and compositions are brilliant!
It is my first black theater show in Prague and I couldn't be more happy with what I saw.

Building, convenience and installations also great !

I will suggest this to friends and family!

I was there at an excursion. It was wonderful: the guide was very good, one could see that he is very interested in what he is doing. The theater is amazing.

Very historical, very nice architecture but also very compact.
Unfortunately the performance (Le nozzle di Figaro) was following an (very) alternative take and was really boring. Which does not allow us to enjoy it till the end.

We watched Don Giovanni at this theater. It's beautiful and... this is actually where Mozart first presented Don Giovanni. It couldn't get any better!! Drinks are available at the bar downstairs during the intermission. I liked to have the subtitles on the screens. This is the first opera I watched that had the screens with subtitles telling the story. Prices are very inexpensive for good seats in Prague.

It was really a great show!
I recommend to come earlier to find good seats as there is no reservation for that.
However, it was really too loud, I was about to leave the show.
Nevertheless, I would come again because the performance was impressive and there was a lot of interaction with the audience.

Spectacular experience watching Leonce and Lena at The Estates Theatre. Magnificent Theatre. I fell in love with the interior. Sat in A16 and it was a very good seat. Very good view. You can also see the orchestra while they’re playing. Leg room can be improved but not bad. I paid approximately £35 for my seat.
