Wonderful performance! I love that there was a mixture if seasoned actors and some brand new to acting but it was soo good.
Never been there. Just thought the place looked wonderful. I’ll go there if I’m ever in town.

The staff, especially Keele, went above and beyond to make our theater experience memorable. The production value was great and you can tell this company loves what they do! I can’t wait for the next show.

The theater itself was great and the show (Pirates of Penzance) was FANTASTIC - enthusiastic cast, talented performers and we laughed the whole time.

The box office manager is rude and aggressive. We didn’t see the sign posted about not taking video, I didn’t have my glasses that day, and there was no mention of not recording in the pre-show announcement. Plus I saw other people recording during the show, and a friend IN THE CAST asked if I had recorded one of her songs, so I thought it was okay. The box office manager came and asked me to stop recording during the show, which I completely understand and I did right away. But after the show, he ambushed me as soon as I exited the theater, demanded to see my phone and watch me delete all photos and videos I had taken, and insisted I should have known better because in any respectable theater you can’t take videos or photos. He didn’t introduce himself or use any degree of politeness at all, and was very aggressive and demanding in his body language and tone. I did delete the videos on the spot, but when I refused to give him my phone or let him see it, he was angry and told me “if I see these photos posted anywhere we’ll know exactly where to go”, which sounded very threatening. I had no intention to post the photos, I was just taking them for my friend who had asked, but even if I had, Pirates of Penzance is public domain, there are no copyright issues.

I am friends with the musical director and assistant director, and apologized to them both profusely and asked them to apologize on my behalf to the cast if my recording made anyone uncomfortable - that was not my intention at all! But the experience with the box office manager was hurtful and overshadowed what otherwise would have been a really wonderful evening for us.

I have been a season ticket holder since 1984 season. The recent Pirates of Penzance came with strong voices AND great comedic acting, especially the general and the two police. I have recommended to all of my friends. Happy, happy camper! JPB

Super good experience. Definitely the type of place that makes theater and entertainment more accessible to general audiences. The staff here are so friendly and professional, and the shows are super fun. The type of place for those who love hidden treasures and don’t turn their noses up at unpretentious fun. Mediocre cleanliness, but not exactly dirty. I think that the 70s style just ages the place, but that’s not good nor bad

Amazing! Such a fun, wonderful, magical delightful experience. I was so impressed and entranced in the performance. Bravo!
This lovely restored theater is an art deco relic of the past. It is such a treat to attend shows at this small intimate venue. I love the restoration details on the outside of this venue, which brings this to life breathing in fresh air to the vintage. Very small theater with limited seating. Balcony seating is available and standing room only. This venue does not hold many. I have seen such musical artists as Eric Johnson, AL Di Meola, Heavy Make up, and others. The sound quality here is beyond perfection. Support live music in Dallas at this lively Oak Cliff historic intimate venue.
Attended the Avi Kaplan concert last night, first time visiting the venue. It's amazing! The staff were SUPER friendly, the building was clean and well taken care of. The music sounded amazing and every spot in there is a spectacular view. I am a FW girlie through and through but we'll be making a lot more trips to Dallas now that I know about this awesome little gem! Stop next door to PHD before hand, it was great too!
Great Theater! The acoustics are excellent for the classical Spanish guitar performance I saw. Andrea Gonzalez-Caballero performed flawlessly filling the space with lovely people and sound.
This is the only existing theatre designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and it happens to be in Dallas. It was constructed in 1959 and recognized as a historical landmark in 2007. We saw the spanish guitar player, Andrea Gonzales Caballero, and it was fantastic. I play a lot of guitar myself so I really enjoyed the show. Parking was also very convenient.
You'll never be disappointed when you go to the Bishop Arts Theater center! The staff is lovely and eager to meet you the performance of Fannie Lou hamer's life was exceptionally surprising. I am not done learning all that I can about this exceptional woman thanks!
Went there tonight to see Andrea Gonzalez and thr venue was just nice with all the trees around and great location over all. Hope to be back for another concert.

Great production...LOVED IT!!! Fannie Lou Hamer would have been proud.
I had no idea this theater even existed, but it was great! The seats were comfortable, staff was super friendly, and there's no bad seat in the house.
Beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright theater that's fallen into disrepair. I'm so happy the citizens of Dallas recently voted for funds to renovate this treasure! It's a great venue set next to Turtle Creek and Uptown Players are one of the best theater companies in Texas. Can't wait for the renovations!

Bruce Cockburn concert May 4th. This venue is so close and intimate, the perfect place for an artist like Bruce. Perfect night out, great work from his catalog, Finale was thunder from the storms outside as Bruce started "when the Spirit walks in the room"...

Full of awesome.
Just had our KHS Senior prom here and LOVED it!! Eric and his staff are wonderful and go above and beyond to make sure your event is successful. Now thinking of another reason to plan a party here again!
This is a beautiful little theatre in the Bishop Arts District just perfect for live performances. I highly recommend you check it out for yourselves.
They've done it again! The DTC has taken a beloved whodunnit and injected it with their own progressive juices. Many artistic directors would resist the urge to tamper with a classic piece of theater but not Kevin Moriarty. The DTC boss brought this indulgent & inclusive adaptation of "Dial M for Murder" to Texas audiences which includes a big, fat LGBT kiss in the first act. Some theater outfits would honor legacy theater by minimizing character tinkering- not your DTC troupe. A less vague plot synopsis would better inform potential audiences of your handiwork, DTC. Friendly staff and a nice venue gets DTC 2 stars.
This is my favorite place for live music. Always clean bathrooms, no or little wait at the bars, intimate enough to enjoy the experience and the acoustics are fantastic!

Nice venue. The website said "free parking available" but we couldn't find any. Parking was $17. Two tickets were $140 with fees. That, in my opinion is VERY high, but my wife wanted to go. We saw 'Dial M for Murder and it was very well done.

Since 2010 this place has welcomed some of the finest musicians playing live. There is an amazing Vibe here of History and repurposed art and the venue contains probably one of the best sounding live rooms in all of dallas. There aren't too many places where you can go and just walk in and know the music will be good but I highly advise you get tickets in advance here because most of the shows sell out or are close to capacity. They have a good selection of alcohol and some light bar snacks. The staff is always exceptionally friendly and this is a safe and beautiful place to spend a night listening to music.
The big negative: By far the least amount of bathroom access I've come across at a major venue in any city. I've never seen people literally running to try to get to the bathroom before everyone else. Five minutes before the intermission ended for Beetlejuice, there were at least fifty people still in line for the main *men's* bathroom.

The positives: The seats were more comfortable than I'm used to for a Broadway series show (not sure if it matters where you sit... we were orchestra far stage left). All the staff members were very friendly and helpful. Also, the fair park around the music hall is absolutely beautiful and a great way to pass time while waiting for the show to start.

The sound was a little garbled at some points, but I would suspect it's because we were sitting in obstructed view seating. I also missed part of the action that was happening on far stage left, but again... obstructed view. Can't fault the venue.

We'll happily be back again, but will probably try to cut out water a few hours before the show!
As far as Broadway venues go, this is a place to see shows. It's not bad, but it's not lavish or extravagant either. Parking is super organized. (PRO TIP: There's a small paid lot right as you exit the highway, but if you keep going, there is free parking with a lot actually associated with the theater. It can be a walk, but they have lots of shuttles about for this reason.) I have been 4 times over the years and haven't ever had trouble seeing over the people in front of me. The location itself is a bit sketchy. There's lots of security around for this reason, and I never had any issues along those lines, but it's enough to recommend walking around with a buddy at night if you can. Overall, lavish theaters are nice but obviously not required to enjoy a production. This is a solid example. Restrooms were similar: not amazing, but not bad either.

Stage dooring is a bit squished and intimate. There are no barricades, but security is always present to keep actors and fans safe. Also some people like to exit the door nearby so on occasion there is a bit of congestion, which wasnt taken into account during planning. If you know an actor you want to see will take a while, stick around for a few minutes even if you're told they already left. In my case, security was "positive" everyone left, but the lead actor came out a few minutes later.
This theater shows its age. It's very outdated. The upper level seats are terrible. Even for a thin person, if they happen to be tall, they will for sure be uncomfortable. Even a short person will not have enough leg room. I'm specifically talking about section PP row N at the top. Also, I literally could not see anything when the people in the row ahead of us took their seats. Honestly, the Majestic on Main Street in downtown is better, though I think that's actually a much older theater. Unless I can get seats very close to the stage next time I don't think I'll go back to this theater. We watched Beetlejuice the Musical and that was an excellent show. Too bad it wasn't at a better venue.

Absolutely beautiful theater! Great seats even in the back! Would love to catch many more shows here!
I really enjoyed myself at the Beetlejuice musical held at the Music Hall! The seating was comfortable and plenty. The sound and lighting effects was the best I have ever seen! The Music Hall staff was friendly and extremely helpful during intermission, I only wished t hey had more than one bathroom. This was my first time attending a musical here and I am looking forward to attending more. What a great show it was!
Just went here for the first time to see a band I really like. It’s easy to find, easy to park. The people are really cool, full bar. Great venue!
Joshua Ray Walker performed an amazing acoustic show at the Kessler Theater. Seating was outstanding, staff was MOST excellent, drinks were cold & reasonably priced. This is the perfect intimate music venue!
We went to Beetlejuice the Musical here and the venue was very nice. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly. A lady slipped and fell, and immediately she had assistance from the staff who put her in a wheelchair and helped her out of the theater.
Watched the best show of my life there 2-26-24. Have been to several shows by the same artist but he sounded amazing in this venue. If an artist you like is playing here it is a must see event.

Nice theater. Located downtown so the parking is limited to street or a paid lot. Doesn't appear suitable for those with mobility concerns. Situated between a hotel and a restaurant along a very busy street. Please keep this in mind as you are planning your visit.

What a super cool venue! This is an ole’ school theater.
A smaller venue that the huge newest ones around DFW but the whole vibe was great.
Parking lot just East is close. The drink prices seemed a bit higher, but the pour was generous.
We sat in the balcony and the view was good.

We watched Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band with Samantha Fish opening for them and we were blown away! Awesome place to see a concert in a priceless historic venue. The staff and security were professional and welcoming. All around an A-FREAKING-MAZING VIBE!! We will go back for another Friday night!
I have seen many musicals at the music hall, so this isn't my first time to visit. The building needs a major update and better restroom access. The seats are just ok but aren't staggered enough so that you don't end up staring at the back of someone's head the whole time. Staff are always polite and parking has never been an issue.
Unique. Amazing. Fun. This event venue is over the top! I had my 50th birthday party here and it was the best night. Eric makes everything super easy and has all the connections. I used his recommendations for the DJ, the caterer, the photographer and the bar tender. I love the fact that he also allows you to bring in your own alcohol. The decor and the set up made for the most beautiful pictures. I can't wait to get my pics from the photographer! I would highly recommend Quixotic for any event!

We have watched I love, Your perfect, Now Change. For about 14 years. Always at your theatre. Except for when y’all took it off you list. I have say this the worst one. We try every year to bring new people. We brought 2. Couples. Late 30 ‘s. Was very disappointed. You have deviated too much from the original script. I know you have to keep up with the times but this version has soured our love for theatre three. Some things are better left in their original state.
I saw a great Broadway Dallas protection here. An excellent venue, lots of bars, a good restaurant, plenty of parking, and free shuttles.

Great place to see bands play. I highly suggest Loge seating. Left or Right Loge, great seats.
I had the pleasure of hosting Phantom Gala at Quixotic, and I can honestly say that it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Eric (the owner) made sure that everything was perfect for my event. He was responsive, flexible, and accommodating, and he went above and beyond to meet my needs and expectations.

The venue itself was amazing. It was spacious, and elegant, and it had everything I needed for my event. It had a beautiful decor, a great sound system, a long bar, and a lovely stage with stage lights, smoke machines and a separate suite for dressing up and lounging. It was also very clean, well-maintained, and secure. It was the ideal place for my event, and it impressed everyone who attended.

I highly recommend Quixotic to anyone who is looking for a wonderful and memorable event. He is a great host, and his venue is a gem. You will not regret booking with him, and you will have a fantastic time. Thank you, Eric, for making my event a success!
Very enjoyable experience at A Christmas Carol this year. Small theater so great views of the stage from everywhere. Plenty of legroom as opposed to other theaters in Dallas.
The Amy Grant/Michael W. Smith concert was amazing! The acoustics are always spot on at this venue, and I don't know if there is a bad seat in the house! Love this place!!

The Majestic Theater lives up to its name. It is always a Regal experience inside this theater with Decades of History all around and the architecture and historical imagery really allows you to enjoy an evening in a theater experience. Although the only bathrooms are in the basement everything else is very accommodating and the staff here is always excellent. Going to a show at the Majestic Theater has a special feeling every time.

What a beautiful building! It has a different, but similar vibe to the San Antonio Majestic Theater. I did read up a bit on the history of the building, which is pretty cool.

The drinks were weak and expensive.

Staff were friendly and bathrooms clean.

There is never enough leg room for tall people in these old theaters, and this wasnt an exception. My knees and back were so sore when we left from not being able to move or stretch for 2 hours.

All in all, it was a good experience. I'm glad we made the trip from Austin!
Beautiful grand venue!! Easy to work with and very friendly staff . I highly recommend this place.

I have been there several times and I think it’s a hidden treasure. Ironically, it really hidden as it’s hard to see a sign of it from outside. The theater is actually located in the underground of a residential apartment tower.

The staff have always been very kind, welcoming, and helpful to me and my friends. So far, all the plays that I’ve seen there have been memorable.

My family and I were in Dallas for a weekend and decided to catch a play. We saw Black Boys Cry Too. The play was amazing and the theatre was clean and comfortable. Purchasing tickets was easy as well. Despite being in a big city I was happy to find adequate safe parking at no cost. Thanks Bishop Arts Theatre for a wonderful experience.
We had our wedding here on Friday October 13th, and it was honestly everything we had hoped for! Eric is an absolutely incredible host and made sure things ran smoothly. His recommendations for bartenders, staff and DJ were top notch! If you are looking for a unique venue instead of the standard wedding venue, this place is for you. The only thing I was sad about was how quick the night ended up flying by. Thank you so so much Eric for your hospitality.
I hosted a charity event at this venue and would highly recommend it. The space is so cool, and Eric was incredibly kind and helpful.. a true pleasure to work with in every way. We would definitely do an event there again! They made it very easy and all of our guests had a fantastic time. If you have a chance, definitely book the magician. Our guests are raving about him!

I really loved the venue. Watched Marlon Wayans do his thing. I literally laughed until my stomach hurt. 😂 The seats where crammed. If your tall and the person in front of you is tall, you're in for a long night. Has a crashed velvet seat topping and the seats appeared loose. The rest of the place looks beautiful and has a classic feel and allure to it. Reminds me of the Apollo.

We saw the play "Chicken & Biscuits ". It was a great and funny show.. The facility offers wine and cold beverages. No bad seats in the theater.
There’s no better place to host a fun party than the Q. Cute lounge areas, beautifully decorated tables and chairs for eating, long bar, fun private dressing room upstairs. No need for decorations, it’s all decked out. Eric was a dream, checking in with me, making sure I was never without a drink, and just an overall pleasure to work with. I’m sure I had the best party of the year and I’m truly grateful for the experience.
Went to see the Laurie Brekner Band, the Theater is absolutely wonderful. The staff is great and the theater itself is set up nicely with great acoustics.
The bishop arts theatre is a must visit! They put on a phenomenal play tonight! Brought tears to my eyes! The emotion and passion that was put on display by the cast is unparalleled! I'm definitely gonna try to convince my friends to come out one day and see what else they have to offer here!
Great for date night. Highly recommend if you need or want a good laugh 😂
Seats D9 & D11 seat next to each other
Go check out Native Garden! They did a phenomenal job.
We saw Clue a few months ago and the show was fantastic. The set, costumes and performances were really good. We sat in the bottom area under the balcony. Great views since the theater is small

We love Undermain Theatre. We've been season subscribers for years and feel like every performance is spectacular and a fantastic value. From the staff to the volunteers to the actors, oops and don't forget the stage design (always spectacular!) and all that support behind the scenes- it's all first rate and best in Dallas for live theatre!
What an amazing venue! Eric and his crew were great to work with and made our event special. If you can make an atmosphere worthy of a funeral director’s Halloween party then you know you’re in the right place. I would gladly go back.
‘Gotta give the Blues a voice’
J. Dontray Davis brought Blind Lemon Jefferson to life last night. His voice easily filled the Undermain Theater and the audience clapped , stomped and hooted in response. What a rich and sorrowful tale Deep Ellem has to tell. It was such a pleasure to be back at the Undermain
Again.
Such an amazing experience. To sit in one of Frank Loyd Wrights architectural creations. The musical kinky boots was a class act worth seeing again and again

This production of Kinky Boots surpasses what you would demand from a Broadway touring show, it's that good. Lee Walter is an excellent Lola as all the cast seems to cast exactly where the should be in a role the actors have made their own, giving it the Uptown twist that makes you want to come back, year after year. Definitely worth going to see. Tell Jeff & Craig a very longtime season ticket holder makes this a MUST DEE event.
Frank Lloyd Wright designed building is fascinating inside and out ( and certified). Spacious lobby accommodates comfy seating and a bar with limited selection of wine, beer and sodas with snacks. Theatre seats are narrow but with plush seats. Bathrooms downstairs may be challenging as no handi-capable access evident.

This is the only theater designed by the Frank Llyod Wright in the heart of Dallas. This is situated in a very pedestrian friendly area. The parking space is adequate. The building was built around 1959 so please don't expect anything fancy. Enjoy the architecture of the time and also the performance that take place within.
Always a great performance! We became season ticket holders last year and thoroughly enjoyed every show! Really appreciated the theaters trying to keep everyone safe and healthy as well!

Wonderful intimate black box theatre with friendly staff. Long history as evidenced by decades of print memorabilia along stairs down to a basement lounge. Theatre Too is a smaller revue stage adjacent to the basement lounge. Difficult to find entrance should be resolved once construction is complete on their new lobby and surrounding area.

The performance of "Disaster, the Play/Musical" was energetic! I believe that I have enjoyed other performances of the Uptown Players more. Let's support Uptown Players as well as the restoration of Frank Lloyd Wright's Kalita Humphreys Theater!

I have rarely seen a performance I enjoyed any better than Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. The costumes were above the top and I cannot think of any show, including Broadway, where they were any more imaginative or amazing. The costumes alone were worth the price of admission. The songs and choreography were so much fun, and the actors were fun and talented. Parking was my least favorite thing, and if you don't get there early, the close places will be taken. Stairs are very tiny and narrow as well, so it's not as friendly to disabled people as it could be. It's in a beautiful area though. I will definitely go back to this theatre!!

Loved the seating layout, it is a circle so you feel like you are inside the play. The seats are comfortable. They have complimentary tea and coffee, but also have some snacks and drinks for sale. Their parking lot is free and very close to the theater. They have signs for the parking. People are very friendly. They start on time. Fun place to go!
Small, intimate venue and really well performed, designed and overall executed shows. I have seen two here so far and loved both of them. In terms of theater it's a much more unique experience than you might get at a more expensive, high-profile show. Will come back as often as I can. (Also highly appreciate the easy parking setup)
I've been going to Undermain shows for years now. It's the best kind of local theatre in a unique basement space. Productions are always first rate and tend towards newer works from interesting playwrights.
