Old Mutual are in contravention of the POPI act, I get a call every day from a different number of a telemarketing machine!
Their estate department is absolutely bloody useless. I will never again in my life have any of my friends and family members be clients of old mutuals estate department. Useless
Not happy with the service I have received at all. Went into the bank. No one gets back to you as mentioned. I called three times and emailed twice. People just don't get back to you.

Old mutual are a bunch of criminals, never ever agree to anything from them as they cannot keep to what they say they are going to do. Iv been messed around for two months about a refund they were ment to give me and today again Iv got a new story.

Unprofessional and incompetent - a small claim of around R15k took more than two months to resolve. As an intermediary, they add absolutely no value to the claims process. In fact, they hinder the claims process.
No one answers phone calls, and that is called service?
The Financial Associates team are some of the best in the business. Quick and reliable service from their team of experts and professional well thought advice from their planners.

A meeting was held here at one of their meeting rooms.
And the venue is spacious and comfortable.
They also have vending machines with a vast variety of coffees available to all delegates using the facility.
Restrooms are very neat and clean.
There are also various stores and eatery available here
Spend almost 2 hours here to close my account - after going through the whole process only to find out the account is still open months later

Without any shadow of a doubt, the most incompetent insurance company I've had the displeasure of dealing with. Over 6 months to resolve our first claim via the body corporate, and still ongoing into month 4 with the second claim.

Yhoo!!!! group schemes I am really frustrated, I have been trying to get hold of someone to update my new banking details for debit orders. No luck from month-end November. I have been holding for 34 minutes now on my phone waiting for a consultant.
I have been a client for +-15 years and each time i interact with them their standard drops and poor customer service. It has become so pathetic that I am contemplating taking away my various financial and insurance products. I have never been so upset with the service I received recently.
The service is poor,stuff chatting to one onother.been waiting 1h20 to be assisted.not happy at all

You have to wait for more than 30 minutes to be assisted by a consultant. And when they do assist, they take their sweet time.

Been on the line for over 13 minutes - still waiting for a help desk consultant to answer and address an issue they are experiencing with not deducting premiums for 2 months now....
I am absolutely DISGUSTED in Old Mutual's service that has steadily declined the past 15+ years to being appalling. My first ever policy, that I got in 1985, was with Old Mutual, but thanks to several very bad "suggestions" made by so-called financial advisors (who all happen to disappear on a regular basis, never to be heard from again), my maturation amount had dwindled from the promised about R 2 million, to a mere R89,000.
However, the best is that now the policy has reached maturity, I cannot get the money paid out to me ??
I left South Africa in 2000, after which I became and American citizen just this past year (however, paid my policy religiously all these years). The policy matured in October, but Old Mutual refuses to pay/transfer the money into my personal American bank account?! I am expected to open an account in South Africa, but have to do so in person (I have not been back to South Africa since leaving 15 years ago). In addition, for me to open an ex-pat bank account, I have to denounce my (dual) South Africa citizenship ??
In the mean time, I am sure that Old Mutual is receiving interest on MY policy's money that they are "sitting on". I am currently working on a contract in Jakarta, Indonesia and definitely can not afford to fly back and forth just to open a bank account?
I refuse to believe that I am the only person who's had a policy with Old Mutual who has left the country - there must be SOME way for me to get the policy paid out? I signed "authority" to my mother to manage the policy (since payments were made from her account the past 15 years), but Old Mutual does not pay out policies to third parties ?
This is absolutely ridiculous. It is MY money that I paid for and there should be a way for ME to receive MY money without wasting an incredible amount of time, effort, and getting the run-around.

To everyone out there, instead of paying into a policy for 30 years, put the same amount under your mattress every month - and you would NOT be cheated out of hundreds of thousands, nor will you have problems getting your money at the end of the day!!!!
