It's a little small but it's good for when you're a figure skater and it's a Sunday evening and you're suddenly hit by the urge to go practice footwork and no one anywhere in the city has a public session - it's also free if you bring your own skates. The ice won't be amazing but it's decent for what it is. I kinda wish they'd keep it up longer though. It is still pretty cold.

Employees were great, went on a Tuesday afternoon and no one was there so me and my partner had the rink for us but the ice was bad, they need to clean it every day or idk, kind of hard to move because of how bad the ice is. Skates are pretty bad, they hurt your feet.
I have visited the Downtown Denver Rink a couple of times now and really enjoy the atmosphere! Also, their management team goes above and beyond for their guests. I lost my phone with my ID and credit cards between the boards yesterday evening while skating, and in less than 2.5 hours this morning, their team had already retrieved my belongings and delivered them straight to my house. I cannot speak highly enough about this team's willingness to take care of my needs once they became aware of the issue. I'd give Chad and the rest of the team there 10 stars if I could. A truly heartfelt thank you!!

To be fair, it’s hard to complain about anything “free” (it’s not really free because you have to rent skates) so I’d recommend if your in town visiting to support a local rink. Search “Ice Skating” and then review website for “Public Skate” hours.
I went to ice skate here and didn’t because it was bumper to bumper (a lot of people). I ended up doing what I suggested above and the local place I went had maybe 20 people and the skate rental prices were 4 bucks more than here with an indoor rink 3 to 4 times larger. It was worth it!

My wife and I attended the Beyond Light Show and it was very cool!
Lots of great rock music, it's like a laser Light show but a little different.
The guided meditation was positive and calming.

Great esplanade for events. During Xmas the park has a lovely light show and a beautiful light Xmas tree. The Christmas market has a tons of foods and vendors with amazing crafts.
When I was there, there were lots of people lining up, waiting to get food from the government or charity organizations. So couldn't spend too much time there. However, it is the best location to take a picture of the house of the state
The Christmas market was awesome! We had a fun time here and love it! Parking was tough to find but you gotta pay like $10 and go inside and check out the market. Place was so packed you have to stand in line for food and was worth it ! Can’t wait for next year!
We had a wonderful time with our family. The lights were beautiful at night and the crowd wasn’t too bad initially (we arrived around 7:30). However, it got fairly crowded around 8:30 and a bit crazier with teenagers taking a lot of falls. We had to get the kids off the ice at that point.
The staff were really nice and they had plenty of skate rentals available and trainer sleds for the kiddos, which made it fun.
There was also a small kiosk selling canned beer, wine, coffee, cider, and small snacks. Plenty of places for others to sit and enjoy outside the rink too.

We went here specifically during Christmas and it was Chris target and man are their decorations beautiful. Even if you don’t enjoy the Christmas market there. It’s worth walking over to because the way that they’ve decorated everything is beautiful. Christmas market was pretty good just as a recommendation, the prices were quite high, but I’ve noticed that prices in Denver are very quiet I even though I live in New York City.

As a 57 year Colorado native, seeing the city & county building lit for Christmas 🎄 is one of my favorite Colorado traditions! The city has moved the mile high tree from its original location to city center park [as well as the Christkindlmarket is nearby] ..
The park can be hit or miss in dealing with the homeless population. Currently, they have dispersed the encampments. Be careful in surrounding areas .. and always be on your toes visiting downtown Denver. Sadly, it is not the same city I knew & loved.

Like many others, my first experience here for any length of time was at Christkindlmarket. It was a good experience! Somewhat long lines for food but they moved quickly. The mug mulled wine was tasty and we moved quickly to get our refills. The whole thing ends a little sooner than you’d like, the park itself closes at 9. Initially it was a bit too crowded for my taste but the snow and cold cleared some people out and gave me some breathing room. 😌
this was amazing, they have little trainer things that you use so that it’s easier if you don’t know how to skate. this image below is a picture of my little girl smiling in her nap back home because of how much fun she had. my daughter is 43.
My fiance and I went for the Christkindlmarket event! It was a lovely experience and they had the buildings lit up with a giant Christmas tree. We were able to park nearby for $5 for 3 hours of fun.
We went when they had all the chirstmas lights and Christkindlmarket. It was a beautiful and very clean park. Plenty of parking around the area. Both times I went, I didn't have to pay parking. We went to the market in the morning, and it was better than the Chicago one imo. Far less crowded and more enjoyable to go through the vendors. The food also tasted amazing. The market closed at 9 pm when we went, but the Christmas tree and lights were still on. Great photo opportunities 👌. Just be careful at night. There are a lot of sketchy walking around, so it would be best to go with somebody else.

Unforgettable experience celebrating Rocky Horror Picture Show for Halloween this year with hundreds warming up the theater. Grateful to the foundation for restoration efforts and excited to come back for more community entertainment
This park used to be very active when I was visiting with my daughter. came back in the summer And noticed nobody was in the park.
I think the part commission needs to take a close look at the usage for the space as it is not getting used currently because of the changes or enforcement of off leash rules.

The foundation has done so much work to restore and better the theater. It's just so amazing! A beautiful piece of history preserved for generations to admire.
Cold, not sure if they had the heater off? But fun to come back to after so many years. Excited to see a they renovate it to be used again!
I can't recommend this place enough, such a great and truly unique experience.
One of Denver's most underrated, peaceful, and beautiful parks.
One of the prettiest parks downtown. Conveniently located next to Union Station, there are public restrooms here and lots of space for dogs. There is a bike path that runs along the river and they frequently host events here. This is a beautiful well kept park. Great place for a picnic.

This is a hidden gem along the river in lower downtown Denver. Plenty of books and crannies to find a relaxing spot for a picnic or a nap.
The park is always busy, and not always clean, or safe. That said, there are paths that take you to wooded areas, or down to the water where you can wade, or simply sit and watch the water roll by.
Public transportation options are plenty and nearby, and the park is also close to a variety of great dining options in Denver, or across the bridge in Highlands.

Very educational, uplifting, and inspiring. A good location as well. Being in City Park, it opens up the door for so many people to access it while being in a well maintained area. History is something that has a history of repeating itself. With knowledge, know-how, education, spirituality, common sense, decency, forgiveness, peace and love, we can make history repeat the growth as well as the pain aka growing pains. Thinking about moving forward doesn't mean forgetting the past. Even history moves forward by the grace of the Creator of all.
Such a beautiful place in the Denver zoo. It's always my favorite place to go to try and find all the little critters camouflage to their environment. Also has an amazing amount of fish and reptiles. The albino alligators are such a cook sight to see.
Great day at the park. Good atmosphere and nice people at the park. They have a fenced playground and beautiful hills with lushes grass to play and picnic. Great place for toddlers and family to hang out. Lots of trees and shade on a hot summer day. We will be visiting again real soon.
The beyond lights show was amazing and the atmosphere and the staff are friendly. Definitely a must of visiting Denver and even if you live in Denver you should become a member. Sit back and relax and enjoy the show

I honestly had very low expectations for this attraction. I expected it to be short, cheap, and possibly boring.

Governor's park is such a nice park. If you have a dog or a child. Well, I'm a cat person and my children are grown. I love this park. Why can't I enjoy it like others? The homeless? EXACTLY! For shame governor! All people!
I love that this place is still here. It’s cool reading about some of the famous names from back in the day who have performed in this space. There’s clearly great enthusiasm for the renovation (which is sorely needed), and multiple ways to donate. I hope they reach their goal! Maybe that way the inside fountains will work 😉
This park is a great neighborhood park that is well maintained. I am grateful I have it nearby to take my dog to! Leashes are required, so we use a long line and it is big enough for him to run around.
Any chance to escape the concrete jungle if even for a moment is much needed. Governors park is a nice little patch of relaxation and fun. Jungle gym for the kids, plenty of grass and benches to sit and meditate or read. For as small as it seems, it really does allow you to not feel like you are surrounded by asphalt and traffic for a little while.
This place was truly incredible a once in a lifetime experience! I will definitely be coming back when I come back to Colorado! Very calming and relaxed environment, with great employees!
I hadn't been to the zoo in 30yrs. Oh!! I enjoyed this so much. I have mobility issues & there were scooter provided. Love,loved it.

So much money spent for this playground and surrounding area but the Platte River. I wish they would dump couple truck of sand to make a pleasant beach area for kids as well. Instead, tons of trash and unpleasant smell. Overall, it’s a great playground with no kids here, due to homelessness around
its kinda sketchy at times obviously in the morning when all the drug dealers are sleeping that's safe to ride through there. in the afternoon when the old men are sitting around talking about the weather I'm sure it's somewhat safe there's children and young ladies walking their hound dogs. but other times as anywhere else on this planet please be safe it's kind of sketchy sometimes there.
Lincoln Veterans Memorial Park was dedicated on Veterans Day, November 11, 2022. It was formerly known as Lincoln Park (and once as Liberty Park, I believe). This contemplative space sits between the State Capitol grounds and Denver's Civic Center Park, but is a separate entity and a State, not a City, park.
The main features are the Colorado Veterans Monument, the Colorado Fallen Heroes Memorial, the Liberty Bell replica, and the new (April 2023) General Maurice Rose Monument.
The Veterans Monument is an obelisk designed by Robert Root and Richard Farley. It was dedicated on Veterans Day, November 11, 1990. It rises 30 feet and is built from Lyons red sandstone. There is a beacon at the top. Five brass plaques show the emblem of each branch of the armed forces.
The Fallen Heroes Memorial was dedicated on November 6, 2021. It was designed by Rosenman Associates Architects in consultation with the Veterans Monument designers. It honors the Coloradans killed during World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Persian Gulf War, and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The Liberty Bell is one of 53 exact replicas of the original, cast in France in 1950. The bells were donated to the U.S. government by a group of steel and copper companies. This bell was donated to the State by the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury and traveled throughout Colorado as part of a U.S. Savings Bonds drive before being installed at the Capitol and dedicated on May 26, 1950.
The General Rose Monument was dedicated on April 16, 2023. It was sculpted by George Lundeen. General Maurice Rose was killed in action at the end of World War II. He was the highest-ranking officer to be killed in Europe during the War. He was the most decorated tank commander in American history. He accepted the first major surrender of Axis troops to American forces, he led the first invasion of Germany from the west and was the first to breech the Siegfried Line, the first to capture a major German city, and the first to advance more than 100 miles in a day in U.S. military history. General Rose grew up in Denver, served in both World Wars I and II, and was the highest-ranking Jewish soldier in World War II.

I think the park is great. I think it's silly to have dogs leashed there. Every time I see dogs there, the owners are respectful and they know how to control their animal.
Oh, the other day last week? I watched the city sign, what was left of it, fly right on by in front of me in that nasty wind. I had to giggle at the litter flying by. Only because it is the cities and they're actually mucking up the place. Not us folks passing through.

This is a REALLY cool retro place. The girl working the door today was not especially excited to be interrupted while reading her book or to have to speak to strangers. She didn't explain things very well, so we just got admission to the "lobby" for $15. So retro!!! It was like stepping back into 1980. Lots of games from handheld to working video games like Ms. Pacman. There is a place to purchase snacks and drinks and a nice outdoor courtyard, and the sun was wonderful! We were disappointed that we weren't allowed to wander anywhere else, though. So, unless you're going in to smoke or hang and play games or watch a movie, you probably want to skip this as it is a little expensive. Guidance needs to be added to the reviews so people know what to expect as we had questions from people outside wanting more info. They might consider doing a guided or self tour for those that are just curious and only have time for something small rather than the light show.
This exhibit inside the Denver Zoo is our favorite in the zoo. We like the variety of animals inside Tropical Discovery. As season pass holders, we visit the zoo frequently take trips to the zoo and always try to see the Tropical Discovery. We like seeing the sloths hanging out in the ceiling and the alligator snapping turtle. Also the new albino alligators were really unique and fun to see.
Located right next to the Denver Coliseum and the Pepsi bottling company. And right next to the RiNo Art district, this park is gorgeous with beautiful views of the Platte River. It has tons of play areas for all ages!

We hosted my son's 6th birthday celebration here and the staff did a great job of giving him the most special day! He loved having the ice to himself before opening. This was one of few places I could find in Denver that had the flexibility to accommodate a group of kids and parents together for a reasonable price.
The booking process was easy, the ice was smooth, and location couldn't be beat! The only downside was that is was about zero degrees, but the crew didn't have any control over that. We would absolutely book here again :)

Dope lil park in the cut, there were a lot of homeless people hanging out(on every occasion visiting this park)when we arrived but they departed as they seen us coming up. There is no parking in front of the park you have to get there by a walking trail. Also there are picnic tables & charcoal grills in 2 locations but no restrooms are available.
To my kids this is the best place to visit! Talk about smiles and happiness during the whole visit♡
Probably our favorite location at the zoo. In addition to being warm and humid (in a good way!) It displays beautiful animals like tropical frogs and fish.
Beautiful, affordable, and fun. So much to see. We sat in the hand chairs during the light show. I had a big flower pillow on me and it felt like a weighted blanket. I could spin around in the chair to easily look where I wanted to. You can sit in pews and/or lay down on the pews. The show was the perfect volume for me because I don't like stuff to be too loud. You can go sober and it's still great. You can watch the show multiple times in one day. Parking is easy to find and free. The second floor isn't wheelchair accessible as far as I know and that's where the light show is. The garden had nice art but the seats needed to be cleaned off. I just got a paper towel from the bathroom to clean my chair. Mario Kart is projected onto the wall. I enjoyed playing Centipede, Ms. Pacman, and table tennis. They have merch, snacks, art, and smoking accessories for sale. The church services are smoking friendly but they're different from the light show times. They want the light shows to be kid friendly and they are. We paid for the swag bag (nothing too exciting but I do love stickers and they have some) and the good seating but the place wasn't very full so we didn't need to. I'd only recommend paying extra to support the church.

Came for my first Christmas Zoo Lights and was not let down! Everyone had a good time. There is much to see, and their exhibits are great. Seeing all the different animals along with the Christmas lights was a treat. Always a good time here. Would recommend this zoo to anyone looking for something fun to do.
Governor Park Pennsylvania Ave Denver Colorado wonderful Park great grounds for families and solo artist just coming for a paint . I personally enjoyed a good read the urantia book.

Excellent community Park great for the family great for friends and outings great for picnics great to have parties and events in this area right next to 25 off of 20th and little Raven. Denver Colorado. Excellent area great atmosphere highly recommended come on down.
Been coming here for years. Great place to walk a dog- lots of smells and squirrels. Some good views of the mountains if you stand in the right place. Homeless people aren't a problem if you're not a scared little baby or a snooty rich transplant.
It's a lot of fun if you like animals, lots of amazing exhibits. It would be 5 stars if there were more places for Disabled people to sit down near the exhibits so we could see without straining ourselves.
Very nice park right by the state Capitol. But park is full of addicts and someone injecting themselves with things in front of children. There was also trash, syringes, and tents everywhere. What a shame on the state and city leaders, this park is beautiful and should be respected and well kept

The landscaping is all very well maintained, there is plenty of space for large group activities, classes, and of course a simple but beautiful park day with your dog. One thing to note, this is not a great family park. Otherwise, it is a great dog, exercise, meditation, etc. type of park.

It's beautiful,even with the traffic. Always nice people. No matter who is around nice friendly speaking people. Drivers are kind. The view I love and enjoy. They did a superb job on the landscaping and river. My family enjoys coming to this park. Beautiful. 😍
Great memorial for MLK and other civil rights leaders.
We discovered this on a middle school field trip, and hope to go back soon just because! The memorial itself is beautiful with so much important information available in multiple modalities. A pure gem I hope everyone gets to see.
We are traveling and wanted to stop for the day to hang at a Denver park. I'm so glad we chose commons park. The proximity to Downtown Denver skate park across the street was also great. The park is pretty clean and well laid out. There was a good mix of trees/shade and open sunny grass. There are many areas along the water to access it to put your feet in or for dogs and little ones to splash around. The footbridge to Platte street opens access to tons of meal, drink, and snack options to bring over for a picnic. The only downside were the bathrooms. The doors were propped open and there are two toilets but no stalls for privacy (so basically in view of walkers by). They were in a bit of disrepair. For the park size and usage, this should really be addressed to support the visitors.
I bumped into this monument by accident. The history shown here was eye opening and inspiring by listing dates of events, politics and Dr. King's most memorable speeches chiseled into granite. Beautiful, peaceful park great place to chill too.

It's a nice enough park, fairly tiny, but it merges into the grounds of the Boettcher Mansion. The park is on a significant slope and its lower reaches, covered in concrete, are frequented by Denver's many homeless people; the clueless City can't come up with anywhere better for them to be.
Commons Park is a gem in the heart of the city. The green spaces along the river offer a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The park is ideal for taking a leisurely walk or jog, and the views of the city from the center lawn are great. It is also part of a larger network of parks along the South Platt River trail, providing a lovely green belt for runners and cyclists.The park is also dog-friendly, which is a huge plus for pet owners.

This is one of Denver's most beautiful Parks right on the South Platte River
Cute playgrounds (one for little kids and one for older kids) with lots of natural elements. It was just completed Dec '19. Several walking paths around the playground good for scooters and bikes.
Very cool 130+ year old theater being renovated.
This park reflects everything of Denver the good & the bad. From happy pups to homeless people right next door to the most powerful person in CO right next door. Park is always filled with homeless people and they trash the place in the mornings. Pretty sad that its right next to the governors mansion.
I'm so glad this theater still stands, as a tribute not only to the former Elitch gardens park, but as a tribute to history and the magic of live theater. Its beautiful outside and in, and has been wonderfully restored over the years. I look forward to all the great future programming! I hope the outdoor movie series returns soon as well!

Beautiful, huge park with nice view in a city. You can feel the greens and city at the same time. I love here and so do my kids and my husband. Definitely worthy to pay your time.
Worked there the summer of 82', was about 16/17 yrs old, was with the clean up crew mainly towards the big eatery section and all other sections sometimes, couple of times around the dragon swing to clean up puke, lol. Came out from northern Arizona on summer break, it was the only job I could get for that summer in Denver, it was worth it. Coming from the rural native reservation to see city life and to meet good people there was amazing, I remember our supervisor getting so mad at us at times because we didn't clean good enough or missed areas, she was on us! lol! It was good. We ,the employees rode the old roller coaster when the park closes, fun. Sometimes it rained so hard it flooded many areas of the park, it was exciting. Made few friends for that short period of time, I was too shy, wish I wasn't, would have been a totally different better experience. Came back for the broncos and patriots championship game and and saw the new elitch gardens from a distance, didn't get a chance to visit the historic theater, I didn't remember the theater much, didn't know it was there, why I don't know. Time marches on.
This memorial was so much more detailed than the one in DC although theirs is taller. You can learn about history just by visiting this memorial. I definitely want to bring more people to see it. When you are facing the front of it, you are supposed to go right to left around it.
