It's pretty, rough rocks, and wrorst of all, PRIVATE. Hard to understand a beach can be private... in Oregon you have the right TO EVERY SINGLE BIT OF BEACH THROUGHOUT THE STATE. Ridiculous to keep such places away from everyone.

Just parked here to hike to Ice Berg Point. Lovely hike to rugged coast.

A great museum, well laid out and super informative. Every city/town should hope to be this lucky. Friendly staff and great exhibits outside the building as well. Kids area inside. Picnic tables for a wonderful visit and free parking.

Beautiful views. Easy hike for all skill levels. Not crowded.

Great beach for exploring with little kids or doing some low tide wading out to the large rock just out in the bay! We saw a medium dungeness crab crawling around. At medium/high tide and with some waves you can hear the beautiful sound of water trickling through the rocks as the waves crash up high and run back down the rocks.

This a small historical museum depicting the history of Lopez Island. It well curated and the docent is a lovely life-long resident. She graciously answered all questions. We felt it was worth a hour visit.

Basically your staging ground if you intend to visit iceberg point. Park here and hike up the private roads to iceberg. So not attempt to drive up there, the locals won't take kindly to it and the signs are not very explicit. Also wonderful views at agate Beach Park!

Lovely new exhibit on the history of Native Americans and mixing with early settlers on the Island. Also a fascinating history of the unique reef net fishery. Really worth a visit!

Beautiful spot with a pebble beach, see through water and some parking.
There is a wooden picnic table and chair, I suggest using it to sit back and enjoy a meal with a view!
The bay itself is calm when the wind/tide is low, looks like a great kayaking spot.
Carry a light jacket as there can be a cool breeze :)

Gorgeous beach but very rocky. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear, sandals are a definite no go.

Tons of little pebbles as beach large rocks to climb on, sand at the edge when tide is out. Beware steep stairs to get down to the beach. Small parking lot, lots of interesting tide pools!

For a small town museum they tell a very complete and interesting story of the island's early settlers. Lots of authentic period photos and artifacts from the first pioneer families. We thought it was pretty cool and they only ask for a small donation ($4) to go in.

Incredible Island, excellent for a weekend getaway

It was closed when it was supposed to be open. Luckily most of the tiny museum was outdoors so we managed to see part of it.

I visited the tiny beach today at high tide and there is no place at all to walk. No benches to sit on. The view is nice for bird watching, but all the nice beach areas here are all private property.
At low tide I was able to gain better access to the beach and on Saturday, November 11 the sound was filled with sailboats in an afteroon race of some sort.

A ferry trip to the San Juan Islands is a must if you're visiting Washington state. Ferry's leave Anacortes to various islands in the national monument regularly. There is much to explore on the different islands including historic sites, restaurants, rocky beaches, charter fishing, whale watching and more. Many youth camp programs are also offered at various destinations in the San Juan Islands National Monument.

If you haven’t been to the San Juan Islands you are missing out! The beauty is impossible to describe. There are so many options to stay and play. Be sure to do some research and then get up there next summer!!

Great fun with the kids and plenty of things to see!!! Loved the view on the ferry and the cafe on board had plenty of options!

Such a fun island! Great walks, cute town (Friday harbor) with great shops. Many walks through beautiful Forrest and then great views of water and other islands.
I loved the cozy, close feeling of everything while still not being too crowded or busy.

I love this island except for the ferry schedule. We’ve been waiting for 2 hours for the ferry delay due to a mechanical issue. I then heard from my friend that the delay happens very often. But in general, this is a beautiful island. Will definitely consider to visit again. However, have to mention that the food is fairly expensive comparing to other tourism places.

Amazing hikes and foliage. We did the jakels lagoon and up the hill from there and was super beautiful. Not too long but lush and great mix of scenery. Highly recommend it.

A pristine environment with a rich ecosystem of wildlife. Quaint towns with picturesque marinas are sprinkled with boats of all kinds, including ferries that make island hopping easy to do. So scenic and peaceful with lots of options for adventuring and restaurants for special occasions.
